Change package name of RFC Model in NWDS

Hi All,
Is there a way to change Package Name of Adaptive RFC model in NWDS? I can do that by deleting the existing model and creating a new one, but is there a way to achive it without deleting the model?

Importing adaptive RFC model in NWDS CE 7.1 doesn't work

Dear all,
I am unable to create an adaptive RFC model in my Web dynpro DC in NWDS CE 7.1.
This is what happends:
I select create model from the web dynpro, fill in name and jco destinations on the first page and move to the second page where I fill in SAP login information.
After clicking next I come to "Select RFC modules", but I never see the studio logging in to the server system. The result is that I dont find any function modules when i click search.
I am new to NWDS 7.1 so I suppose there is a setting that I have missed.
Have anyone else experienced the same problem and solved it?
I currently have an old SAP system (NW04) and a new system (NWCE7.1). On my PC I have installed NWDS 04 and NWDS CE7.1. The old studio can connect to both the new and old backend system just fine but the new studio cant connect to any of them.
I am very grateful for any help or pointers in the right direction.

Never mind. I solved this myself.
It was caused by DLL-hell. I was running an old version of librfc32.dll that was for NWDS 04. Works fine with the version that comes fresh with install of NWDS CE 7.1

BAPI Name in RFC model

Hi
I imported an RFC model, specifying a BAPI in doing so. I now cannot remember the name of the BAPI and cannot seem to fine where it is specified in the imported model or the content administrator. Can anyone tell me where I might find this info ?

You can find all Adaptive RFC names in folder
Drive:\username\digit(0...)\DCs\package\p1\comp name\_comp\bin\p2\p3\p4\p5\p6\mdl
like
BapiName_Input.class
BapiName_Output.class
PS: p1...p6 all are package names which may differ.

Hi there,
I believe the only solution for your issue is to open the form in the change mode,
then click on the File--> Save As and then give some name and assign the package,,
then you can always delete the previous form save in $tmp.

Changing Package Name of an AIR apk

Hi. I have created an AIR app that is currently in the market. To update the app, obviously I must keep the same package name. My first version's were packaged using Eclipse with the ADT plugin.
Now to use AIR 3.0 Native Extensions (ANE) which were not available when I first developed the app, I currently must create my APK using AIR's command line tools. Unfortunately, these command line tools force you to have a package name that starts with the word "air". For example, I need the package name "com.example". AIR creates the package name as "air.com.example".
So now, I cannot update my app in the market since the package name has changed. Adobe has this horrific article to help you rename and remove the "air" in the package. I'm not a great programmer so this has really stumped me.

Apparently this info is out of date or incorrect in a few areas.
I have completely stumbled at step 12 which uses apkbuilder:
apkbuilder final.apk -u -z resources.arsc -f classes.dex
I am getting this error message:
THIS TOOL IS DEPRECATED. See --help for more information.
java.io.FileNotFoundException: resources.arsc does not exist
I have used step 10 to create the new resources.arsc file. It clearly DOES exist and in the correct location. I tried using apkbuilder with other resources.arsc files taken from other projects. I still get the same error message.
Maybe there is another way to do this using another tool like like apkTool. http://code.google.com/p/android-apktool/
I tried this but then couldn't get jarsigner to sign the apk properly.
Is there a chance in hell of this working? There doesn't seem to be much about this topic on the internet. If anyone is interested in this, I have a zip file with a sample AIR apk, windows bat files for all the command line work, and all the needed utilities so they don't need to be downloaded. To get started you just need to change my path.bat to fit your system. And you need notepad++ (or an equivalent) to batch automate renaming the package name across several files.

Is it possible to change the package name through powershell ?
Here is the sequence i tried which didn't work...
$package=Get-AppvServerPackage -PackageID ""
$package.name="<new name>"
Set-AppvServerPackage -AppvServerPackage $package
And also the version set to all the packages is set to 0.0.0.1 , Is there any other place where they save the version of software or they don't deal with software version ?

I doubt that you can modify the package name 'afterwards'. If the package name really is a concern (users usually don't see that), it should be modified using the Sequencer or Application Virtualization Explorer.

How do i change column names in oracle model?

I am performing a migration from SQL SERVER 7.0 to Oracle 8.1.7.
I have tables that have tables in SQL SERVER with column names
that are "TYPE" and "BODY".(These are generally TEXT datatype
columns that need to be converted to LONG in Oracle.We need
these to be LONG datatype in Oracle because of an application we
are using. LOBS cannot be allowed)
The migration utility renames these columns as "TYPE_"
and "BODY_" and creates the tables in the Oracle Database.
I need to have these tables in Oracle with the same column names
viz. "TYPE" and "BODY" .
I can create new tables in Oracle with the column names "TYPE"
and "BODY" but cannot change the options in the migration
workbench for this.
Is there any option or any workaround I can use to change the
column names in the Oracle model?or set the options so that the
Oracle model tables donot modify these column names?

The words 'TYPE' and 'BODY' are reserved Oracle words. Its best
to go along with what the workbench has suggested. If you have
to keep the original names of the columns trying wrapping double
quotes around them after the data migration is complete. This
may cause a case sensitivity or referential problem later on
though.

Changing foreign key name in physical model

If I change foreign key name in physical model, it does not change in relational model. But when I change the name in relational model, the new name appears in physical model. This happens in Data Modeler 2 and 3EA2. Is it a bug or an intentional feature?

it's not a bug - the name in physical model "follows" the name in relational model until name in physical model is changed. It keeps the same value and changes in relational model do not affect it. original behavior can be restored if you set the same name as it is in relational model.
If I change foreign key name in physical model, it does not change in relational modelYou can look at physical model as specific implementation of relational model - changes do not go back in relational model.

Will a jni header accept a package name with "." in between

My java class for native function call is included in a package with name like "xxx.yyy.zzz"
So when I edit the jni class in header file generated to include the package name ,it shows error.
Is it possible to write jni class for a native function defined in java class which such package name?

Changing the default logical system names for adaptive RFC models

Hello,
When I create an Adaptive RFC model the dialog that asks me to specify the model name, package, source folder, etc. has default values in the "Default logical system name for model instances" and "... RFC metadata".
I know I can type in another name there but I'd like to change the default name to something that fits our naming conventions. Can I change that? If so, can someone tell me where?

Thank you for your response. However, that is not what I was looking for. Sorry if my post was not clear.
I knew that I could change it AFTER the import. I also know that I can type in something else besides the default DURING the import.
What I am asking is if there is a way to change some configuration setting so that the 'default' that comes up in the drop down DURING the import is something different than what comes 'out-of-the-box' with NWDS.
Hope that clears up what I'm looking for.

We have an existing application with few custom BAPIs are called. However we added few fields added to the custom BAPI. We could not figure out how to bring the new fields show up in used Model and context.

SAP Library - Development Manual
Now to call the FM you have to follow the steps:
1)In NWDS click on models->then right click it select import Adaptive RFC model
2)Here gave the name of the Model , package etc and the names of the JCo Destinations tht will be needed to call from R/3.
3)Give the Information abt the R/3 Host and username password of the R/3.Press Next
4)Now search for the Bapi you want to Use. Select it Press Next
5) press Finish. You have imported a Bapi from R/3.
Now you can play around with it according to your requirement..
You need to create the Context, Views to show the Data of the Bapi.

you can change rfc destinations of model in 2 differnet ways.
firs one: right clcik on project
          from the context menu select propeties
          it will open a dialogbox from that select dynpro references then click on jco references tab
by using add and remove buttons u can add and remove joc destnations
2.expand ur model class double click output class.now seelct properties view.there u can change the jco destination

How to change the package name of Managed Bean class

Hi: Gurus, when ever I create a new JSP page the Creator creates a code behind file with a package name untitled. Is there any way to change this package name? Can't the Creator gives us an option before genereating manged bean page to choose a package name? And then create the Java source directory structure on the basis of the pakcage name?

In the Project Navigator (default location is middle right), go to Java Sources, and you can rename the package ("untitled") to something else by right-clicking it or by left-clicking (just like Windows Explorer).
I agree, though, that giving the developer an option during creation of the JSP page would be nice.

Hi Naidu
Though you rename the package name, the view in that package refers to the old package and hence that view can be used in other views by including the old package name only. Renaming doesn't have significance that you expect. You can create a new package and views in it and copy the implementation of views from the old package to the views in the new package.

You wouldn't see any direct effect on the Report.. But if you transport the report to QA & leave the Message class in Dev, it might result in syntax issues & you will not be able to execute the report. Just ensure that both of them get transported to QA & you will be fine.
