Change paper size created by Quartz PDFContext

I bought a new printer and now I can't print my faxes. It doesn't matter if I use pagesender or the internal fax of OSX to receive. When opening the fax in Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Pro or preview, the size is 215,2 x 290,8mm and created by Mac OS X 10.6.4. Quartz PDFContext. All paper-settings in the preferences->printers-> are set to A4. The old printer ignored the paper-size, the new one displays that I have to feed a legal format paper. How can I change the legal format to the A4 size of the PDFs created by Quartz PDFContext?

Excel 2010 bug -- cannot place controls on chart properly after changing paper size

I have encountered unexpected behavior in Excel 2010 when placing controls on a chart that is a separate sheet. The issue is that the controls (e.g. spinner, scroll bar, etc.) cannot be placed or moved to the right side or the bottom.
Steps to reproduce:
1) create a chart as a separate sheet
2) change the paper size to, for example, A6 (4.13" x 5.83")
3) change paper size back to Letter (8.5" x 11")
4) controls cannot be placed on right side or bottom of chart.
It appears that instead of using the current dimensions of the chart paper size to determine where controls may be placed, the smallest dimensions that have ever been applied to the chart are used.
I am looking for a workaround for this issue since I would like to use a paper size large than 8.5" x 11", but I cannot place controls on such a chart properly at this time.
Any ideas?

I have found a workaround for this issue:
1) change paper size in your default printer's preferences to the paper size you want in Excel.
2) afterwards insert or create the chart. It is automatically the correct paper size, and controls can be placed or moved properly.
3) change default printer paper size back.
In case your chart has already been created, simply copy the existing chart in step 2 instead of inserting/creating.

Can't change paper size in Print module

When I click on Page Setting in the Print module I get a pull-down menu that has options for Printer, Presets, Layout, Pages per Sheet, Layout Direction, Border, and Two Sides but there is no option available for changing paper size. This was not a problem before I updated to 1.2. How do I get that option back? Thanks.

Have you downloaded and installed the latest Driver for the Epson R1800.
It has been said that it is best, even if you have a ppc to download the latest IntelMac Driver to install for that printer, for best results.

Change paper size before selecting print preview

I want to change Paper Size prior to selecting Print Preview. That is not possible in Firefox. Can Paper Size options be added to Page Setup and/or Print Preview? Please fix.

You might be able to set that thru your Printer Preferences, so look there from within Firefox first. {Ctrl + P} then hit the Properties button, on the Paper Tab you should be able to set the Paper Size.
If not, give this a try:
type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
Pref Name = print.printer_your_printer_name.print_paper_height - 11.00
and print.printer_your_printer_name.print_paper_width - 8.50
Is that what you see? If you see those "Letter" measurements, try re-setting the main pref, and let Firefox reacquire the info from your OS.
in about:config
Preference name = print.print_printer
Right-Click and select Reset, then restart Firefox.

That is a feature of AirPrint. If you do a Google search on "AirPrint paper size" you'll find documentation from major printer manufacturers. For example, this is copied from some HP documentation:
What paper and media sizes are supported?
With AirPrint, paper and photo media sizes are automatically selected depending on the application you are using on your Apple device, your HP ePrint printer, and the region in which you are using AirPrint. You do not have the option to select different paper sizes.
For example, from Apple’s Photo application, if the HP ePrint printer has a separate photo paper tray, AirPrint uses 4 x 6 inch photo media as the default paper size. If the printer does not have a separate photo paper tray, AirPrint uses letter-size paper. If you are printing from Apple’s Safaribrowser, letter-size paper is the default paper size in the US region, and A4 is the default paper size in Europe.
AirPrint supports the following paper and media sizes:
Letter
Legal
A4
4 x 6 in photo paper
A6 photo paper

My canon 9000 mk 2 is producing different colors when I change paper sizes.

When I change paper sizes on my Canon 9000 mark II, I have been getting odd colors on some size paper settings.Paper type and other settings are the same.I did try to download new driver when this started to occur. However, I deleted the new driver and reinstalled the old print driver. The problem has not gone away.

The printer only does what it is told. Barring a malfunction, that is. So, I would look else where. Your photo editor?

Changing Paper size does not change page break?

I am using Oracle Report R6i.
I have created a matrix report showing months horizontally and items vertically. By default, the report displays a vertical line (Page Break Line) at 8 inches (as shown in Ruler).
I change the paper size in Page Setup Menu but still the page break line displaying at 8 inches due to which only 03 months are displaying per page at Landscape mode. My page size is : 210x230 cm.
How can I extend that page break line so that atleast 6 months to be displayed per page.

Changing the size used by the printer with the page setup dialog does not affect how Reports formats the output. You need to change Reports page size for this.
In 6i, the page size for Reports is controlled by properties against the Section objects (header, main, trailer) in the navigator.
In 2.5 you would set the vertical and horizontal page size in the Reports property palette for all sections. With the introduction of individual sections in 6i, each section can have it's own page size.
In your example you probably want to change the page size against the "main section" to 13" x 8.26" to get the report to format in Landscape. Also remember to set the ORIENTATION parameter or property to "Landscape" so that the printer is set to Landscape as well.

Cannot change paper size

I'm using CS6 on a MacBook with Yosemite (10.10.1) and an Epson R2880 a3 printer. However, when trying to print anything from Photoshop (CS6) I do not appear to have the facility to change the paper size, meaning I'm stuck with A4 only. Any ideas how to resolve? I downloaded he latest driver from the Epson (UK) website but no difference.
When checking in Word the facility is there for me to print various different sizes.
Any thoughts / suggestions gratefully received

Since upgrading to LR 5.6 I can no longer change paper sizes for user print templates.

The print preview window shows the new size laid out properly but the printer feeds only the size which was used to create the preset resulting in clipping if a larger paper and cell size is invoked in page setup or xs white space if a smaller is invoked. While the problem is unsolved I have found a workaround. If I use the "Printer" button (lower far right) and print from the printer dialed pop up custom paper sizes chosen in the "page setup" are honored and the layout prints as shown in the LR print preview). On the other hand, If I print using the "Print" button the printer feeds only the paper size chosen when creating the preset.

Can't change paper size on Officejet x64

I am unable to change the paper size on this printer. I need to use an 8.5 x 5.5 format to make a greeting card. Actually, I am not seeing any other options for different sizes. Using the HP Solution Center I get the message below. Also, it does not recognize my other printer that I am using. Lost ability to change paper size in Lexmark Printer Pro901

I have been using a Lexmark Pro901 printer. Up until now I would hit the "print setting"button and I could then select paper size, type of paper, etc. I have now lost that ability. Lexmark says it is a photoshop problem ( the printer works fine in other programs). I have updated all the drivers,etc in Photoshop CS5 ver. 12.0.4x64. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, I seemed to have fixed the problem. Since I had to make some prints over the past few days, I sent my images from Lightroom to Photoshop CS4 for printing. In Photoshop, I saved my paper settings in the printer driver, selecting the proper paper type and ink level, etc.
Now that I went back to Lightroom, that saved setting shows up in the printer driver dialog (as it should) and I can now select the Paper Type/Quality for any print jobs in Lightroom! No more missing options in the printer dialog!
All this makes me wonder if there was a corrupt file related to the printer driver that Lightroom could not understand, which led it to miss out some options. Now that I saved a set of options in another program, the file is now parsed correctly???? Just a guess.

Change paper size.

My scanner is set to letter; Acrobat only scans in legal and only shows "automatic" as a paper size option. I want to scan in letter size as the default. I have the full version of Acrobat X on Win 7 Ultimate, 64 bit

Try this, it worked for me in Acrobat v.8
Start an Acrobat scan.
In "Acrobat Scan" window select "Scanner Options"
In "Scanner Options" window select "User interface: Show Scanner's Native Interface"
Click OK on "Scanner Options" window
Click Scan on "Acrobat Scan" window
Next you will be asked to save the PDF file. After this a window should open that gives you an option to select paper size and document type.
I found locations in my HP Printer/Scanner to set paper size but I don't think the information is passed from the printer to Acrobat. I suspect it is an HP problem but they are total dolts about doing anything but pointing the fingure at Adobe.
Hope this works for you. It is very cumbersome but it yields the right results.

TWAIN compatibility
TWAIN-compliant programs can scan documents directly from the product. Programs that follow the TWAIN standards should work because HP LaserJet products support the required core functions for TWAIN version 1.9 compliance. However, these programs have only limited support for extended TWAIN options, and software that requires full support, such as Adobe and Core, might not function as expected.
For programs that are not TWAIN-compliant, use the following steps as a workaround:
Use the HP LaserJet Scan software to scan the document into a folder in .TIFF format (or any other file type that the software supports).
Import the .TIFF file into the program.
This is a pretty cumbersome work around. Are there any plans for Acrobat X to fully support extended TWAIN options? Is there an an easier work around?

I can't change copy paper size in HP M125a

Hi all,
I bought a HP M125a printer (Print, Copy, Scan) but I have a problem with copying A4 Pages.
When I put my A4 paper in scanner to copy it, The laser of my printer just scan from beginning to LTR (Letter) position results 2CM in bottom of my main A4 paper not copied.
Notice: When I scanning a picture to cumputer I don't have this problem and al of my picture scanned, But in copy not.
I think I must change paper size in copy or print settings. I set all of paper sizes in "Control Panel --> Devices and Printers" to A4 but my problem not solved.
Please Help Me To Solve... Please...

Hi,
From the Start menu open the printer folder and open the HP device toolbox.
From the “System” tab select Copy settings and change the Paper Size to A4, then click Apply and confirm the changes.

Can anyone help with printer options on iPad mini, can I change layout paper size?

I am trying to change the printer options on my iPad mini so that I can print on legal size paper, I also would like to change to portrait layout. Is this an option when printing from an iPad Mini?

I think the same problem exists with all the iOS devices. I suggest you look for a free App from the manufacturer of your printer. It will have limitations, but may include the ability to change paper size and image size and orientation.
There are other printing Apps such as Print n Share that can do that, but they are not free.
The problem you may face, is that such printing Apps can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option. If you can use their built-in programs, they may meet your needs.
