Change payment country

Hi,
Having moved from the US to Switzerland I tried to change my payment method with the new Swiss credit card and the new billing address but itunes keeps giving me an error message when I try to buy something.
Any idea how to fix it?

I do not have a credit card and would not want to get one. Is there a way i can change my Country back to Canada without having to enter payment information? (it dosen't have "none" option available)

  • HT1918 I am trying to change the country of id on my apple store payment details.  The button does not bring up options, just resets itself.  I need to change the country as I have moved and payment is no longer valid, I can't download any new apps.  Help

    I am trying to change the country/ region on my store account.  When I press the 'change country/region' section in 'my account' it does nothing.... I have moved country, so I cannot enter valid details of payment and so the store is refusing all app requests.
    Has anyone a way around this please?

    Before you can change countries in iTunes, you will need to have a valid payment information addressed in Ireland. When you have one, you can go ahead and change the country on your account.
    - sign in to iTunes
    - go to Account Information page
    - enter your Apple Id and password
    - click on Change country or Region
    - enter your new information then save

    Hello,
    My iTunes account is set to Italy as that is the billing country of the credit card I associated with it when I started the account. Yet, I know live in Belgium and have a credit card with billing address in Belgium. I have tried to update the information but:
    I cannot change the payment information from the payment information options since the address and credit card settings are set on Italy (if I try to simply type my new credit card number, I get an error message that says that the credit card number I entered is not valid for Italy)
    I cannot change the Country/Region setting. The message I get is "you have an active iTunes Match subscription; you must cancel it before you can change stores".
    So, does it boil down to cancelling the iTunes Match subscription? If so, how do I do it (there is no option in iTunes itself to do that)? Also, I have 4 good months left on my iTunes Match subscription - will I be credited those months back if I cancel and then re-subscribe?
    Last but not least: I read some really dreadful posts from 2011 on how people who had changed billing information had lost access to their apps and were charged anew for music they had bought with the previous credit card. Has this issue been solved?

    You have to physically be in that country as well as have a credit card (or  iTunes gift card) both of which have to have been purchased or have a billing address in the country of that iTunes store.

    The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store.  You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.
    E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations.     The bankcard must be issued in the Country you are trying to change to, and your mailing address must also be in that country.

    What country are you in ? If you are in the US then you can only use the US iTune store, and you can't use a Canadian credit card with the US store - a credit card needs to have been issued by a bank in the country where you are.
    If you are in Canada then remove your old credit card from your account and then update your country/region and billing address on your account e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and 'view Apple id' on the popup, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes

  • HT1918 I can't change my country/region with iTune and therefore can't change my method of payment. Help.

    I can't change my country/region on iTunes and therefore can't change my payment information. I've moved from Canada to Australia and am now using an Australian credit card.
    On my device I've gone into settings>iTunes &app store> Apple ID > view Apple ID > country/ region > change country/region. When I try tapping on this last icon, nothing happens. It doesn't give an option to change.
    I've also updated my address with apple.

    It sounds like you are trying to change your country in the iPhone settings but when you get to the last step, nothing happens. I would start by closing all the running apps on the phone:
    iOS: Force an app to close

    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it.
    When you have done that and restart the phone and try changing the country again:
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    If the issue persists, try signing out of your account in settings, then restart one more time, sign back in and try to change the country again.

    I changed my apple id country to uae from US. Entered a uae credit card and it is being refused. Though i changed the country, it is still US in the payment details.

    When you change the credit card details (and possibly your name and address) then you will be charged a small temporary holding charge to check that card details are valid and that the card is active - it should disappear off your account within a few days (though with the weekend coming up it might take an extra day or two)

    Alas, the assistance offered from iTunes support has only made the situation worse.
    They suggested I purchase an iTunes gift card to clear the balance on my account and therefore be able to change the country and payment card. 
    So I bought €25 of gift card and now iTunes refuses to accept the credit....because it's not denominated in British Pounds.
    Original iTunes representative now refusing to respond to my query.

    Because of different local copyright laws and licensing you cannot keep everything exactly the same except for iCloud, which is not affected. You will have to create a new Apple ID for use on the UK iTunes Store with a form of payment drawn on a local bank and an address in the UK. As long as you have downloaded all your purchases and the computer is still authorized to play all protected video content that won't change, however Apps may give you trouble when updating because once associated with an Apple ID you can only switch between stores every 90 days.
    As for iTunes Match you must contact Australian iTunes Store support to cancel the subscription and you will have to resubscribe on the UK store.
