Change pdf page size to uploaded file page size

I've added a new page size in the PDF printer -- but when I identify a file that is being converted
in Acrobat Pro9, the finished pdf is always 8x11. I can't find any page size adjustment in preferences
or page setup,properties, etc. Please help

You can't. That would require changing font sizes and document reflow. 8.5 x14 isn't proportionate to 8.5x11.

Thanks, it worked on my Mac apps. But the problem is that the new numeration is not recognized by my PDF Reader on iPad (goodnotes), so numeration starts from 1...

Can I change PDF font size in ibook

I downloaded a PDF file into ibooks but the font is too small. I don't want to zoom in because then I have to move the file left to right right to left. I would like to change the font size and the document should repaginate itself. Is that possible? otherwise how can you read a full pdf page in the iphone screen?

Generally, one of the reasons people use PDF is because it doesn't repaginate. So complex, graphic-heavy layouts stay how they were designed.
So if the PDF file doesn't offer the same "aA" icon that an ePub file does, I don't think you can upsize the text. (I don't have any PDF files in iBooks at present to really test this, but Apple's KB here says users cannot change font size with PDF: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4168 ).
Look for a text or ePub version of the PDF, or Tip #5 here suggests you might be able to convert it yourself:

Cant change pdf pages in safari

I recently bought the iPad 3, and so far so good, But i just encountered a problem:
I was browsing through my course documents in safari and when i click on pdf files i can only see the first page, i cant scroll to other pages or anything.
I tried to download the adobe reader app but it didnt do much, according to the manual you can just "open in" but i couldnt find such option.
Also is there a way to download the pdf files into newsstand or adobe reader? That would be simply marvelous

If you have installed Adobe Reader or iBooks then you should be able to see the PDFs in those apps. When you select a link to a PDF in Safari tap on the PDF to get the Open In choices. Once you open the PDF in iBooks or Adobe Reader it will be copied there so you can view it later if desired.

How to change PDF page's numeration?

I've a PDF document that starts at page 312. When I use a PDF Reader to jump quickly to a specifical page, I can't do it because, for the program, page 312 is page 1, page 313 is page 2, page 314 is page 3... Does exist an app that allows me to match correctly the page number and the number printed (without edit the second)?

Change the filename of an uploaded file.

I have created a web app so that users can login to a secure zone and upload a file to a specific folder in my business catalyst site. I would like to append the user's credentials to the filename. I can see how to capture the user's firstname and lastname but I am not sure how to make it part of the filename.
The filename at the moment is named liked this 4628132_311455_New Text Document.txt with a timestamp and id auto appended to the original uploaded filename. I would like to add some kind of user identifier to this name at form submission.

How can I change the page size of a scanned PDF document?
I scanned a 50-page document with an HP 5610xi All-In-One using the software that comes with it: HP Scan Pro. Though the physical document has standard 8.5" x 11" pages, the PDF resulting from scanning has page size set to 35.42 × 48.67 inches (according to Preview's "Tools > Inspector". I want to resize the pages to 8.5" x 11". Shouldn't Preview be able to do that with "Tools > Adjust Size..."? When I try, the menu option is grey so I can't select it.
I'm using Preview Version 4.2.

Thanks for the insight; that explains why it's the wrong size. I selected 300dpi scanning (which is the default, actually), but HP Scan Pro evidently created a PDF with 72dpi indicated. I want it fixed because I want to distribute the file to other people and have them able to print or display it without problems.
I still don't know why Preview won't let me change it, but your question about whether I wanted to print it did lead me to find a workaround: "File > Print" and "Save as PDF..." saved it with the correct page size.

I called support services 4 times (talking with Sakthivel, Shashank, Medhet, and one other.) Each time they indicated that they would connect me to the correct people and they disconnected. I want some answers please. This seems to be a simple question. Is Adobe CREATE merely a scam?

Icon size for audio file insert on a PDF page.

Acrobate X V10.1.9 Windows 7.
I wish to insert an audio file on a pdf page. I select "multimedia", "sound". Get the window to select the file. Once selected I then find that I cannot size the icon that appears on the page (click to play). The two fields are grayed out. If I click "OK" it results in a very large "click to play" icon. I cannot resize the icon on the page..
Does this function require C++? Have been getting an error message on PC startup about something being in error. I click OK and all seems to be working ok.
Any ideas?

You can crop it, but the size will not change to letter. However, after cropping, you can print with expand to fit page selected. If you like you can expand this to a new PDF using print, though not generally the recommended approach. Do you have any idea how it was reduced in the first place? If so, have you tried the reverse process?

I think there may be more to this question than you say.
If your PDF page is say, 8 x 12 inches, and you found a way to scale it to 25%, changing it to 2 x 3 inch, shrinking everything on the page to quarter size - wouldn't it look exactly the same on the iPhone? It's just going to be the same as zooming.
Or were you hoping for something more like in Word, where changing the page size keeps everything the same size and spreads it over more pages? That isn't something you can do.

I'm trying to send a manuscript to a printing service in another city. It was produced using Microsoft Publisher. In Acrobat Pro I changed the page size from the default (8 1/2" x 11") to the size of my finished document --- 7.8" x 10". Yet when I send the manuscript to the printer it's still the larger size. I've tried right-clicking on the pdf printer and changing to a close approximation (7.5" by 10"), which is listed as one of the available alternatives, but it won't let me change it. What am I doing wrong?

There's no real need to do that. A PDF can have pages of different sizes.

Thanks CtDave, for the further info. Unfortunately, those suggestions are not working, which is strange.
....Until last week, I used to make multi-page PDFs straight from Photoshop: File > Automate > Make PDF. One simply choses the files, orders them, and creates a PDF. (Resolution doesn't matter; 300 DPI is no problem.) However, my new Photoshop CS5 does not have the option in Automate.
What I've done, seeing as Acrobat is letting me down, is use Bridge (new to me) to create the PDF. It worked without a problem, but seems like more work than the old PS method. I will download a newer version of Acrobat to see if that makes any difference.
.....Also, thanks Test Screen Name: I agree with you that jpeg is irrelevant, and that one can make a PDF from Photoshop (Print > Save As - pdf). But that only works for SINGLE PAGE pdf, not multiple pages as far as I can tell.

Changing A pages document to pdf file.

we were working with pages and made a flyer, but in order to send it to our print shop, via email, it must be in .pdf format. We tried to change the document from a .pages, to a .pdf, but it says we have to choose .pages, or .pdf.pages. All we want is for it to be in a .pdf format. Any Suggestions?

You can File > Print > PDF > Save As PDF.
You can File > Export > PDF
You can Share > Export > PDF
You can Share > Send via Mail > PDF
Still, no guarantee that your printer will be happy, but it's a start.

Image Capture and Preview: bad PDF page size

When scanning to a PDF document with Image Capture, the resulting PDF always has an enormous page size. For example, a 3"x3" image scanned at 300dpi will appear as a 12.5"x12.5" page in the PDF. Scanning at 72dpi will create the appropriate size page, but the file is (of course) unsuitable for printing due to the low resolution. It's as if Image Capture (or the PDF creation routine) assumes the image is 72dpi even if it was scanned higher than that.
Similar behavior can be seen in the Preview app. Use the following steps to reproduce:
1. Open a decent quality image from a digital camera.
2. Choose Tools Menu -> Adjust Size...
3. Be sure both "Scale proportionally" and "Resample image" are selected.
4. Change the Resolution to 300 pixels/inch, change the Width to 3 inches and click OK.
5. Choose File Menu -> Save As...
6. Change the format to PDF, choose a location and file name to your liking, and click Save
7. Open the new document in Preview and check the page size (Tools Menu -> Inspector)
Inexplicably, the page size is now 12.5 inches wide. I understand what it's doing, but I don't know why. The math is simple. Take the 3x3 inch example above: 3in * 300ppi = 900px / 72ppi = 12.5in
I feel it's very bad form for the software to assume you always work in "screen resolution" (72dpi). The PDFs the software makes is next to useless for archival purposes because of the incorrect size markings.
Anyone know of an alternative application to scan to PDF docs? The scanner's TWAIN software is not an option because it's PPC and won't run under Rosetta. How about an application that creates PDF documents from image files (besides Acrobat)? Best would be a way to fix the behavior or Apple's software.
