Change Personal Data Approval

Hi Experts,
We need to implement approval process from Manager whenever the employee changes his Personal Data.
Is there any standard method or process for doing that.

Error message when changing personal data

Whenever a user tries to change personal data in ESS, the system returns an error message "Start date should be after 12.01.2012 or later." (or whatever the current day is...)
I can't find a note or whatsoever to solve it. Is this a known error in ESS?

PA30 - Changing personal data of one employee changes data to others also

Hello,
I have a strange problem. When I am changing the personal data of an employee in PA30 this change is affecting several employees also. This means at the moment that I have people that have connected data like the same name and so on...
Could someone give me a hint what I could have done wrong?
I am using SAP_HR Release 600 with Level 28

I am sorry. The problem was the thing between chair and display. I changed the data in PA30 and there was something wrong with it.

1234273 and do the Personalization accordingly.

Hi John,
Unfortunately it cannot be done. Because if you are not able do it manually or by User Interface then it will not be possible by SDK or any other approach,as far as I Know.
Meanwhile you can create a duplicate of the approved document. Make changes to that. And Close or Cancel the approved one.

Personal data change in PORTAL (PA30) - need to send mail notification

Hi,
When there is any change in personal data on PORTAL need to send a mail notification to the respective agents. I was able to design the workflow in such a way that , whenever there is any change in the personal data (Ex. Marital status) it trigger an event and workflow starts, inturn it send mail to external system and sap Userid.
The question is ?
1. If the personal data is changed from the portal , does it trigger the same event in the backend ? does
it start my workflow?

Changes to the ESS Personal Data iview

Hi There
With regard to the 'Personal Data' iview on ESS.
I have a scenario where fields marked as REQUIRED are DISABLED.
How do i enable them ?
When trying to change the field configuration by previewing the Personal Data iview and then doing 'control + right click' on the relevant disabled field the changes DO NOT take effect.
When changing an enabled field the change take effect.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this ?
Any advice with regard to resolving this issue will be appreciated.

Hi,
The ESS/MSS fields can be enabled/disabled from spro settings at the backend.
Please check with HR consultant to see the status of that field.
The pathmay be:
>Personnel Management > personnel administration > own data > personal data

Personal Data iview can be changed

I have a scenario that i need Personal Data only for display purpose.There should not be Edit button inorder to edit.
Can we make changes to the Personal Data iview

Personal Data uses SAP transaction PZ13 behind it. You could make a Z copy of the SAP Program (function group EHF5) and remove the 'change' button from screen 100. Then create a new iview that references this custom program/transaction.

you can change time constraints in general attributes of infotype attributes,this can be done through table maintenace view V_T582A.
But note that we cannot change the time contraints for mandatory infotyepe of personnel in an organization i.e -0000,0001,0002.
ex:- without personal details like names no personnel will exist in an organization.

whether I'm correct or not.
You want such kund of approval where if in the base document Payment Terms Net30 is there
and in the target document if its changed to Net 60 then it should ask the approval while adding.

Hi,
My company currently using SAP B1 version 9 PL05.
I have already applied approval procedure that it will always launch approval procedure for Purchase Request document (attached screenshots for setup approval procedure).
With above setup, Purchase Request document can only added after it has been approved (an [Approved] text has been shown on document view window and status is 'Open' as per attached below)
The dates have not disabled for editing although it has go through approval process.
The dates also not disabled for editing (Status is 'Closed' as per attached screenshot below) after it has been drawn to Purchase Order document.
Is anyone encounter this issue?
I know that SP_TN can prevent update but it is just a workaround method, not a best solution that I'm looking at.

Personal Data changes were not saved

From the Personal Profile, I am able to edit and save data in all the sections but not for the Personal Data. Once after clicking on the Edit button from the Personal Data as shown below:

How to change generation date of absence quota with Time Evaluation methos

Hi all,
IS there any way to change generation date when TIme Evulation generate absence quota?
Currently system will use last day of month as generation date, Validity and Duduction period set correctly.
Base entitlement relate with Monthly,
Accrual period setting in selection rule is Month
Example: system generation absence quota in PT60 with 1 day Normal Leave Entry date 31.06.2011
Valid from 01.06.2011 to 31.12.2012 ; Deduction from 01.06.2011 to 29.02.2012 (extras 2 month)
Can we change ENtry date to 28.06.2011 , because in the last day of month they did not yet have quota but they need it for advance (approver from his/her Manager) ...

Hi,
The best way i think is to have negative deductions for the quota.
This time as it is on 28 you want to push it to 2 days earlier and later if there is another person with a day as 25, you need to again change the generation date isnt it.
Instead, if you have the negative deductions, you need not worry about the generation date.

Workflow - Family dependents, personal data

Hi All,
We are implementing ESS/MSS on ERP 6.0 and EP 7.0 with EhP4 and ESS 603 patch for India country grouping.
We have a requirement of encorporating z-workflow template to the standard ESS application whenever employee add/change/delete family dependents using family dependent application and personal data as well using Personal data application.
Once we have done with the z-workflow template creation, where we need to attach the events of the z-workflow to standard ESS application ? Can we attach these events to the standard RFC's used for updating family dependents and personal data ?
NWDI is required to accomplish this task ? Kindly suggest the best practises.

So your requirenment is, that employees when editing their family data, they should just write locked infotype records? And your post-processing workflow is about unlocking the locked records once its approved?
Please take a look at BAdI HRPAD00INFTYUI. This BAdI is called during the Input and Output Conversion. The Infotypes you can edit from the ESS Services are so called "Decoupled Infotpes". Which means the Business Logik is decoupled from the UI. With so called "Converting Classes" the mapping between UI and Backend data is done each time you call such an application. So what you have to do here is, once the INPUT_CONVERSION is processed, you have to set the LOCKED-Value of the current processed infotype record.
