Change positions of Iviews in Dynamic Navigation
Hello,
I made a page and placed the following Iviews in the <b>DYNAMIC NAVIGATION.</b>
1. Group Member list
2. My groups.
When I click on the button "Save" the order (positions) of these Iviews changes. So I get:
1. My groups
2. Group Member List
How is this possible? And how can I change this
Greetings,
GMA

Hi GMA,
You cannot control the way the dynamic navigation iViews are sorted, except that you can specify that you want them sorted by PCD ID.
See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c6/c6b07fdb2244fb93ad79207bedc923/frameset.htm for more info.

Changing the Position of iview in Detailed Navigation
Hi,
I want to change the position of the iview in detailled navigation, Ex i have 4 iviews in detailed navigation as
1
2
3
4
now i want to bring 4 up, in the sense between 2 & 3.
One option is by setting the Sort Priority and i'am trying with other option on role level. I'am editing the role which has this 4 iviews assigned, right click on iview 4 and using option Move-->Up. Does this method work, please let me know.
Regards,
PradeepHi Pradeep,
You can try below options -
1) Go to content Administration. Locate your Default Framework Page assigned to your Desktop .Double click it, a new window opens on right side. Out of various iviews, Check Desktop Innerpage and select Open tab. It will display 6 iviews. From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage, select the Detailed Navigation iView (com.sap.portal.detailedNavigationTree) and click Properties. In the displayed Property Editor, check, set, and change the properties of the Detailed Navigation iView, as necessary.
2) You'll get a bak file for detailed navigation area. The par file is com.sap.portal.navigation.detailedtree.par.bak. You can get this par file from server System Admin>>Support>>Portal Runtime>>Browse deployment>>WEB-INF>>Deployment>>pcd. Import this par file into ur NWDS and edit it accordingly.

Sort of IViews in Dynamic Navigation
Hello,
i have added 3 iviews to the dynamic navigation of a page.
How can i sort these iviews in the navigation-panel? Sort-Priority and Merge-priority are not working for the dynamic navigation. I added I1,I2,I3 to the navigation of the page, but it is displayed I2,I3,I1.
How can i influence the sort behaviour of iviews in the navigation panel?
Marco M.Hi Marco,
It is not a nice solution but what you can do is to sort it with the iview id e.g.
iView1
iView2
iView3
if you change the iView <b>id</b> of iView3 to aiView3 the sort order will look like:
aiView3
iView1
iView2
Since you do not change the <b>displayname</b> it will still show:
iView3
iView1
iView2
Hope it helps you
Best regards

GenericCreator: How to add iview as Dynamic Navigation
Hi All,
Had anyone used the "Uploading Content and Actions" into the portal via XML file process to add an iview into a page into the Dynamic Navigation portion which will cause the iview to load up on the left panel of the page.
I am able to do this via the Portal manually, but would like to know how this can be achieve using the .xml and the GenericCreator.Hi Mary,
What I meant by being able to do this manually in the portal, is the process of going into Content Administrator > Portal Content finding the page that I would like to add the iview into. Selecting the page, executing a Right-Click > Edit-Dynamic Navigation. Then finding the iview, Right-Click > Add to Dynamic Navigation.
This will add the iview into the Dynamic Navigation portion of the selected page. -
IViews in dynamic navigation take up whole content area
Hi,
I'm having a problem using dynamic navigation. I've created two Web Dynpro iViews A and B. I've added B to the dynamic navigation of A and put A into a role. Know when I want to view A, I can see the iViews loading, B in the navigation panel and A on the right of the panel. But once they are loaded, B is shown in the content area, "above" A (effectively hiding it). Once I remove B from the dynamic navigation, A is shown fine.
Any ideas to solve this?
thanks,
LievenHi Lieven!
I can only guess, that the WebDynpro integration-IView is designed to run in the content area alone and forces so.
Did you try to run other (sap provided) WebDynpro iviews from the dynamic navigation?

Changing Position of Dynamic Navigation
Hi Folks,
I'm working with the Default-Framework-Page and here I want to add an iview to my Navigation Panel. But for this, I need to change the position of the dynamic Navigation iview. It has to be set under my new iview. Does anybody know how I can change that? When its added, it is shown ON the dynamic navigation.
greets
heidiHi,
The Dynamic Navigation IView is located in the Desktop Innerpage in the Frameworkpage.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/b4/771158e4cb4bf6af9974380948db86/frameset.htm
So if you add your IView to a role, it is shown in the Iview Content Area, so to get Dynamic Navigation IView under your Iview, you will have to add a page with both your IView and Dynamic Navigation IView to the role.
So create a Page, add your IView and Dynamic Navigation IView to it. Add this page to the role.
You can ofcourse arrange the IViews position in edit mode of page.
If not clear, let me know.

WD Java iView & Dynamic Navigation Problem
Hi,
I'm trying to use a WebDynpro Java iView in Dynamic Navigation but have the following display problem:
When I navigate to the page for which I've added the iView to the dynamic navigation, only the WebDynpro iView (from the navigation) is shown. You can see the page in its correct form being loaded but as soon as the navigation iView seems to be loaded/ing it replaces the full lower part of the screen (navigation and content panel).
If I use a plain URL iView in the dynamic navigation the behaviour is as expected.
But if I add a WebDynpro iView or even a page containing that iView I get the strange behaviour again.
I'm running NW04s SP7.
Any ideas?
Do I have to set some properties on the WebDynpro iView?
I've tried a couple of things but none did work so far.
Thanks & Regards
MarkusHi Henrik,
Sorry for the late reply but I'm just back from vacation.
No, I have not found a solution. I decided to go for an integrated application instead (Main WD application that bundles navigation with other applications). That works but of course is not as "nice".
Have you come across some solution yet?
Kind Regards

Hi all
I want to change the order in which the iviews appear in Dynamic Navigation for a particular page
I was able to do it in the editor before we applied a patch ( dont know which!!)
version info
6.0.2.27.0.Enterprise_Portal_Support_Package_2
is there a property i can change
thanks
Prasad BadalHi Prasad
We have migrated our Dev and QA servers from SP2 to Patch28 and then to SP9 and then to SP11. We have also facing the same issue of Ordering of iViews. Our prod migration is about to go but this ordering of iViews is now becoming a serious issue.
SAP is also not able to reply on what basis the ordering is happening and are buying time for it.
Can you tell me how to order the iViews in details.
Do you have any other solution or workaround in fixing this ordering. We had a sizable amount of iViews in Dynamic Navigation.
URGENT help will be appreciated.
Kindly HELP!!

In sap help-online doc, it says that "Dynamic navigation iViews typically contain user interface controls, such as dropdown lists and links, which retrieve data related to the content displayed in the content area. Each time a user clicks or chooses a control in a dynamic navigation iView, the data currently displayed in the portal content area changes accordingly".
I assigned a iview as dynamic navigation iView to the other iView in my portal for test .I can see the dynamic navigation iview in navigation panel under detailed navigation area, when I navigated to the iview it was assigned to. But when I click the link on the navigation iview ,its content was displayed in its area and not in portal content area .How to archieve what sap help-online said? Please help me!
Tks!Hi Shi zi,
This is what you would be seeing in the Dynamic Navigation Editor
<i>Add iViews or pages to "Dyn Nav Iview" as context-specific navigation objects.
Objects selected in this editor appear in the dynamic navigation area at runtime when the object currently being edited is displayed</i> .

Eventing & dynamic navigation & VC
Hi all
i have a page wth a custom webdynpro iview in the dynamic navigation section of the page.the webdynpro app contains a tree & depending on which element in tree is clicked i want differnt iviews to appear on the right side
the right side iviews are developed in VisualComposer Flash & are independent of the tree webdynpro application.
Client side eventing is essentially working . i can populate the fields in the target iviews through clent side eventing
currntly i have ALL the target iviews on the right side of the page
what i need is to hide & show these iviews depending on which branch of tree is clicked
1 option was to use VC webdynpro compile option on the target apps & use Webdynpro component iviews & page service. & do a pageService.setDynamicIView(...) & pageService.showDynamicIView(...)
and not have all the iviews on the page at design time but have each of them called dynamically at run time & then fire the client side event to populate the fields
all i want to know is has any one done something similar & did it work successfully
another option was to have individual pages with the tree iview in Dynamic navigation & one target iview on the right & do a WDPortalNavigation. & workprotect mode(so that the tree maintains the state). but this causes major screen flashing as the whole page gets refreshed. so this is my last option
Any help is appreciated
thanks
Prasad badalHi Prasad badal,
I had a similar requirement some time ago. I did not figure out a useful way to dynamically display several iViews on one page. (Except for building a HTMLB page, which I didn't, as I have never worked with that before).
You could deploy all iViews in one single VC-Model.
Then display all iViews above each other. Depending on what tree element is selected, you display one iView and hide all others.

Hi experts ,
I had uploaded a CRM role into portal from CRD , when i assign this role to myself i see a dynamic navigation component coming in the detail navigation . Because this is dynamic in nature , i guess that is why i am not able to see this in pcd . This component consists of a few CRM related links , can anybody tell me how to modify this dyamanic navigation part like theme , changing labels , expanding/collapsing try icons etc .??Hey Mayank,
Under the CRM role, you would be looking at either a page or an iView to which the dynamic navigation is attached. Locate the Page/iView in the PCD and open its properties editor. Select the 'Dynamic Navigation' under Display(properties). Here you would find the pcd object which you get to see under dynamic navigation. Locate this object in the pcd and you can edit its properties like tray settings to reflect in the dynamic navigation under your CRM role. The theme would be the same as other equivalent portal objects and can be changed in the theme editor.
Hope it helps.

Employee Search in Dynamic Navigation does not update other iViews (FPM)
Hi all,
after selecting a person from Employee Search (MSS) we have to display corresponding data in a customer specific iView with help of selected person number.
So I created a Floorplan Manager Application as described in https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/profile/how-toaddacustomWebDynproiViewtotheMSSEmployeeProfile%28ECC+6.0%29&
If I use the SAP content page or create my own pages with corresponding Employee Search and customer specific iView, updating of data on the customer specific iView works. But if I add the Employee Search to Dynamic Navigation, the data is not updated in the customer specific iView.
I didn´t find a solution in this forum. Does anybody know, if it is possible to add the Employee Search as Dynamic Navigation (with help of Floorplan Manager functionality) and update data in other iViews and how this works? Or is it possible to handle this in a different way, e.g. PortalEventing?
Thanks,
ThomasHi,
I also tried to use only iViews of 'General Information' and added the employee search (team viewer) of the sap
content page 'General Information' to the dynamic navigation, but the other SAP standard iViews of 'General Information' page are not updated, too.
Does anybody know, if it is possible to add the employee search to dynamic navigation and to update the other iViews of 'General Information'? If yes, what properties have to be set? Are some settings for Floorplan Manager
needed?
Could anybody please give me a hint?
Thanks,

Understanding Dynamic Navigation iview.....
In MSS, I have the following workset in my role...
->Team (workset)
---+ Team (webdynpro proxy page)
---+ Employee information (folder)
---+ Employee Working Time (folder)
etc....
The "Team webdynpro proxy page" has an iview ,"Services", assigned in "Dynamic Navigation" but there is nothing particular about that iView itself. However, all folders (and their contents) below the Team webdynpro proxy page appear in the Dynamic Navigation panel (like "Employee information" and "Employee Working Time"). I do not understand the connection between the dynamic navigation iview and how all folders in that workset know to display in that dynamic navigation area. There seems to be no explicit assignment. How does that work?
edit: a bit more info....the "Services" iview is part of the Common Parts business package and based off the "related services" iview template. Still not sure how it "knows" to display the objects below that page that has it assigned as dynamic nav.Did you blog about this solution? If so could you direct me to the blog? We need to add numerous links to outside URLs in Related links. I need to order them somewhat differently than alphabetically.
Thank you,

Dynamic Navigation iView ordering
Hi,
We have a problem with ordering iViews in the Dynamic Navigation of pages. We had this issue during SP11 and SAP was upposed to fix this in SP16. We have upgraded to SP16 now. Just want to confirm that this problem is not solved yet (atleast not using the sort priority).
Also, are there any workarounds to acheive this?
NiravHi Nirav,
Have a look at Configuring the Sorting of Dynamic Navigation iViews:

Let me know if it helps,
