Change posting period

Hello all,
I am trying to to the good issue and system display tis message:
<i>"Posting only possible in periods 2004/08 and 2004/07 in company code AB01"</i>
What should I do. I am not FI then I need very detailed information.

I went to tcode = OB52 however for this company code AB01 I have:
First Posting Period Allowed (in Interval 1) = 7 /2005
Last Posting Period Allowed (in Interval 1) = 7 / 2006
and
First Posting Period Allowed (in Interval 2) = 1 / 2999
Last Posting Period Allowed (in Interval 2) = 16 / 2999
I do not understand much but I think here in OB52 the period is correct. Am I right? And then what to do next?

Impact of Changing Posting Periods in FI on Assets Accounting

Dear Friends,
I did a testing by changing the No of normal posting periods from 12 to 13 in FI Fiscal Variant. I did a testing in different areas of GL, AR and AP and the posting was well with no error at all.
I have a issue with Assets accounting, in the Assets Master Data, Usefull life was throwing error. Depreciation Posting was having the problem so is the reitrment ABAVN.
Any body has idea, how to overcome the Assets accounting issues.

How to change posting period for a company code

Hi Gurus,
In MIGO while doing goods receipt i get this error " Posting only possible in periods 2006/05 and 2006/04 in company code 3000"
How to change the posting period.
I have serched in SDN, i tried transaction MMPV, and OB52 but i am not able to change as i dont know the basics of the screen as i am ABAPER.
Can u tell me how to change. or give sme link with some snapshots.

I think you need to check your fiscal year varian before you do the MMPV. Fiscal year is set up by the FI consultant and it is deciding in which fiscal year period your current month belongs to.(Transaction -OB29)
Ex:
if you use K4 fiscal year variant then this october month is treated as 2010-07 period. Because the fiscal year starts from April and 2010 fiscal year starts from 2009 april.
Calendar Year                 Fiscal year
2009 april                =       2010 - 01
2009 may                =       2010 - 02
2009 Oct                 =       2010 - 07
So first get the fiscal year and period accurately (I suggest get it from your FI guy) and put it in the MMPV
If you accidentally close a wrong period dont forget to follow these notes too.

Change Posting Period in already posted document

Hi,
I wanted to check is there any process where we can change the posting period of already posted documents. The external system unfortunately sent the documents in special periods 13, but it has to be 12. Now our client wants to change the posting period to 12.
Can anyone of you suggest a suitable way in going forward.

Hi,
It is not possile to change the posting period in a posted document, alternatively you can park the document form the external system and it can be posted in SAP after review by the user.

Delete or change posting period

hello
We have a customer which was purchased by a large corporation.
Before the purchase, they created their calendar and Fiscal year according to the calendar year: Jan 1st to Dec 31st.
After the purchase, they need to run their Fiscal year from July 1st to June 30th.
2009 - was already closed.
2010 u2013 we have 12 periods one for each month.
2011 u2013 to be opened
We intend to:
Close year 2010 with only 6 months: Jan 1st to June 30th
Delete from period 2010 the periods of July 2010 till December 2010.
Create a new period of 12 months: July 1st 2010 to June 30th 2011
Create a new period indicator u201C2010-1011u201D and link the periods to it.
Link the document series to the new period indicator.
My question is:
Is it better to delete from period 2010 the periods of July 2010 till December 2010
OR
Is it better to set Juneu2019s period till June 24 and then use the other 6 periods, 1 for each day of June so no periods are deleted?

Idoc error:Posting period

Hi when am trying to process an idoc am getting the error message as u201CAllowed posting periods:08 2008/ 07 2008/12 2007 for company code 1124 and date 09/29/2008.

if your IDoc is related to material documents.. you can change posting period in MMPV transaction. There you have to close previous posting period. then new period will come automatically from Config.

Wrong period indicator linked to 2011 posting periods

Hello,
My customer has created new series for 2011 and linked them to 2011 period indicator.
The problem is that the posting period was linked to 2010 period indicator. They've already created several transactions and therefore the period indicator in the posting period window cannot be updated.
Any ideas on how to solve it (except for restoring a backup and retyping the transactions)?

My Customer Creating the Wrong Posting Period like
01/01/2011 to 12/31/2020
and My Customer Posted the 2011 Year Transaction in this Period
Now I want to Change the Posting period

then System can not allow the Changes,
if i will updated in SQL OFPR Table then System give the Error Message

SEM-BCS Changing of posting periods

Hi:
In the Consolidation Monitor, by going to 'edit' function, we can open and close the posting periods.
I have the following questions:
a) How far we can go to open the posting periods? Say if you are in pp '7', can you open period '5' and post a manual data entry?
b) If we make any corrections in the previous period, how does the system correct the cumulative figure in the consecutive periods?
The above are important questions for the client and let me know your comments.

Hi Virgo,
I usually have the posting period as a parameter at the top of my WB or monitor screen. I may just retype ANY OTHER PP and hit ENTER in order to enter there.
Staying in ANY previous period I may do ANY tasks available in that period, i.e. manual entries, additional data input (with cumulative data corrections).
But remember, if you changed something in a previous period, you MUST RERUN all the tasks in this and all consecutive periods!!! Manually!
The system doesn't do it automatically.
In my practice, almost all eliminating tasks/documents are to be reversed in the next period. It means that any I/U elims task run will effect the next period.
So, be very carefully. SAP doesn't recommend to execute some separate task in previous periods. You may just broke the consistency of all consolidation.

Can any body tell me table in which we can get history of changes made in ob52 that is posting period.I wan to check changes made if any on one particular date.

All the system log are maintained in table *BDTABLOGGO TO THE TABLE and then search for your ob52 table T001B their you will find the data. And any changes to header data is maintained in table CDHDR & CDPOS
