Change publishing extension

All,
I have changed the extension for my presentation template from .html to .aspx. However, it does not see to recongnize it. I see that the new extension is indeed saved, but it never publishes with the new extension.
For the content item, if I view the publishing information, it still lists the .html extension.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Daryl

Hi Skaria -
Make sure you're not using the Adapter Specific Message Attributes (ASMA) option on your receiver file channel.   If you need to use it for something other than the file name attribute, you can still select the "Use Adapter Specific Message Attributes", but then unselect "File Name".
However, if you need use the same file name as is picked up, but just with a different extension, you have to change ASMA filename in the message header (e.g. in a mapping).

Jin

  • Since the installation of Firefox 8, I cannot download a specific file type from email. I use this for work and MUST be able to open these files with a specific software. When FF opens the file, it changes the extension and it will not open. Help!!!

I use the Microsoft Outlook Web App for work email. I receive files with a .RXML extension. This has always worked just fine until the latest version of Firefox came out (I was using FF 7 until this weekend). Now FF changes the extension to .ashx when I open the file and I cannot download it into my software. If I go to the company internet site and download directly from there, it does the same thing. But I can open these files just fine from IE. I REALLY don't want to have to go back to IE.

I opened one of the PDF files in notepad and these are the first couple lines:

  • I can't quicklook .avi files in finder after I change their extension (from .vlc or .mkv)

    The title says it all.
I received a few movies from a friend and some of them were in formats such as .mkv or others, but I couldn't quicklook them with the preview function in finder. I tried to change the extension to .avi since with that format I can always watch movies like that, but it doesn't work. I think it has to do with the fact that I simply typed a new extension in the label, which maybe means that the file is not 100% converted? I don't really know.
    Any solutions?

I used to be able to use Quick Look to view MKV files, and then it stopped. I've been playing around with this the last few days, and now it works again.
I have Perian 1.2.3 already installed like yourself. On a hunch, I re-installed MPlayerX 1.0.17, and Quick Look worked again for MKV files. This seemed to work on my Mac Pro (10.6.8).
However, on my MacBook Pro (10.6.8), I don't have MPlayerX installed, but Quick Look works on MKV files anyway. I don't know what components Quick Look needs for MKVs, but you can try this method to see if it works for you.

  • IOS Mail changes .mhtml extension to .html when opening in another app

    Hey there guys,
Just noticed this, this morning. Recently, our Backup server admin changed the report sent out by our Microsoft DPM server from PDF to MHTML output. (DPM could *never* format the PDF correctly and, surprise surprise, can format the MHTML output just fine).
Anyways, I purchased an MHTML viewer from the Mac App Store for OSX - all fine. I purchased the iOS version of the same developers viewer this morning and tried to open the mail attachment into that app. Oddly, it just showed as text - just like it does inside the iOS Mail app itself.
It was then that I noticed that the attachment extension was .html not .mhtml - yet the file attached to the email is definetely showing as .mhtml.
I tried a wee experiment and opened the attachment into Dropbox instead - sure enough, the extension was changed to .html again.
I then forwarded that message out to my gmail using the Mailbox app and opened the attachment into the MHTML viewer from there - perfect! Because it didn't change the extension as it passed the attachment to the opening app.
So, I have what obviously is a bug in the iOS Mail app - I just want to report it to Apple so it can be fixed. I can't find anywhere to log this bug without having to pay money for a support incident.
Knowing that Apple frequent these Communities (I have been contacted by them in the past following posts I've made here), I thought this might be the best course of action.  Or, if I am wrong, someone would let me know!  (Either about the bug, or how to report it)... ;-)
    Thanks!
    William

  • Are you sure you want to change the extension from... BLOCKS Finder Editing

This is weird and is driving me nuts, but some Macs do not allow further Finder editing of file or folder names if I change their names (usually including numbers, dots and so on) in such a way that I receive the warning:
Are you sure you want to change the extension from..?
After I confirm that I want to change the name, the Finder does it but gets locked for editing (I can do other things) and does not allow any further file or folder editing until I force quit of Finder or reboot the Mac.
I have found that if right after confirming that I want to change the name I select the file and hit return (which selects its name), no problem arises. But I must do it in one or two seconds, or else it will be too late.
    IN SUMMARY:
    1. Change file or folder name including numbers and dots at the end.
    2. Get the message "Are you sure you want to change the extension from..."
    3. Confirm that I want to change the name.
    4. FROM NOW ON, I CANNOT CHANGE THE NAME OF ANY FILE OR FOLDER UNTIL I FORCE FINDER QUIT. Unless of course I do the trick indicated above real quick!
Any hint? Any way to know what is going on? This could be a bug of Mac OS X 10.4.x or earlier or a problem with a third party application. But how to know what is going on to prevent it? As said, some Macs show this issue, but not others.
Note: some related issues on this section searching for:

Hint: some file or folder name changes are more prone to cause the issue than others. For instance, renaming a folder (and confirming it) as:
    Testing.r00
brings the bug 100% of the times.
Any idea of what is going on? Thanks.

The message is a warning that you are doing something that the OS thinks is going to possibly cause a problem. You are creating the situation and the OS is doing nothing other than what you are asking it to do.
I don't know any exact answer why you can't access your files, but I do know that there are a few characters and things that will cause problems because they mimic names of invisible files. When you make a name that is close to being the same it can treat the file as the special one... meaning you can only access it via Terminal.
Ones you cannot use at all: the colon (:), slash (/), single or double period as first characters. (taken from Finder Help with a naming files search) It is best to stay away from any special characters as a rule. Also avoid using a period and 3 character suffix unless it is one that you are purposefully assigning so the file belongs to an application.
That said... even with the over 200 applications on my system I couldn't repeat your Testing.r00 problem. So, I don't know if it may be application related or not.

  • Can you change the extensions in Adobe Muse from .html to .htm?

Can you change the extensions in Adobe Muse from .html to .htm?
I'm updating an old site where the extensions for the pages were all.htm. This means that when I upload the site index.htm is not being over written by index.html.

    Hi,
It is not possible to change the extension in Muse at the moment. You can export the site as HTML and change the extensions outside the Muse.

  • Change file extension in receiver file adapter

    File to File Scenario
Posted: Sep 11, 2006 3:47 PM      Reply      E-mail this post
I am working on a File to File scenario.
Source System gives out a file: abc ( with no extension)
We need to archive it as: abc.done
And we need to send it to a FTP server ( receiver File adapter) as abc.txt.
How can I append a file extension when I archive and
how can I change the file extension in the receiver File adapter?
FYI, we are using XI as FTP server so I have created dummy message interface with no mapping.

    Hi,
If I understood correctly once XI picks up the file it should be archieved as filename.doc and then it should be FTP'ed to a different location with a change in extension filename.txt.
    1. To Archive in the sender communication channel you can use OS Commands after prosessing (>=SP14) to rename the file and archive it. Suggested write a batch file which will rename the file and call the batch file from the OS Command of the sender file adapter. You can either use Archive functionaliy of the Sender adapter or you can write one more command in batch file to move the file to different folder. Make sure you are using fullpath while writing batch file.
    2. As said use dynamic configuration in a dummy mapping and then get the source file name and change the extension.

  • Changes in extension data not always sent to CRM Backend

    Hi,
In a CRM 5.0 ISA b2b scenario we run into a problem:
    <b>Short description:</b>
Changes in extension data on basket item level are only sent to the backend if there are additional changes to that item (for example a change in quantity).
    <b>Long description:</b>
We have added an extension field on basket item level and use the standard extension mechanism to exchange this data to the CRM backend. In order to do this we have done the following:
    - On the Java side we implemented MaintainBasketDispatcherAction and ShowBasketAction. The overridden methods are parseRequest() (from MaintainBasketDispatcherAction) and isaPerform() (from ShowBasketAction).
    - In the backend we implemented the BADI CRM_ISA_BASKET_ITEMS and implemented the methods CHANGEITEMS_SET_DATA, CLEAR, GETITEMS_GET_DATA and SAVE.
We experience a problem when creating an order: When the only thing that changes in an item is our custom field, this is not noticed by the webshop as a change in the item. Therefore the method CHANGEITEMS_SET_DATA isn't called and the extension data isn't updated. If we change another field of an item, for example the quantity, the change is picked up and the method CHANGEITEMS_SET_DATA is being called.
It seems that somewhere an optimization is taking place where the Webshop decides that unchanged lines should not be sent to the backend. I can't find a way to tell the webshop that the lines are modified (i.e. are dirty).
Has anyone experienced similar behaviour or does anyone know of a solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Wilco Menge
    Java snippet:
    parseRequest():
    ItemList itemList = preOrderSalesDocument.getItems();
    String extensionData = "";
    if (itemList!=null && itemList.size()>0)
         for (int i=0;i<itemList.size();i++)
              if (itemList.get(i)!=null);
                   extensionData = parser.getParameter("z_extension_data").getValue().getString();
                   itemList.get(i).addExtensionData("ZEXTENSION", extensionData);

    Hi Pranay,
I need to add a new field to the ISA item sales order in B2B webshop.
I'm trying to use the extension field in the ISA basket item.
I have added a new field in the WEB sales order at item level.
My collegues have changed and implemented the addExtensionData method of  the ItemSalesDoc JAVA  class.
Moreover I have implemented CRM_ISA_BASKET_ITEMS (BAdI CHANGEITEMS_BEFORE_ORDER) in the backend system.
In the BAdI CHANGEITEMS_BEFORE_ORDER  I have copied the extensions data values to the CT_SALES table. Specifically, I have tried to update and change the SUBMISSION field.
It seems that this new value is stored until the GET method (GETITEMS_GET_DATA) is called.
Indeed, when the system calls the GETITEMS_GET_DATA method, I read the CT_SALES buffer  using the ‘CRM_ORDER_READ’  function.
But the new value is no more stored in buffer.
So if I fill the new field in the ISA item sales order, and I click the ‘update’ button, the new value is no more valued in the screen.
Furthermore, it could be important to know that I'm working in CRM 3.0 release.
Do you know why? May you help me?
    Many Thanks
    Best Regards.

  • Can't change filetype extension!

I am having difficulty changing the filetype extension for a couple of files.
Basically I'm sharing a folder of files via SMB with a media player.
The files in question are jpg but the media player requires the extension .tbn to display then as thumbnails.
Initially changed file.jpg to file.tbn and all was well.
As I needed to check a few of these on the iMac I set .tbn files to open with Preview.
Now if I try to change newfile.jpg to newfile.tbn it changes it to newfile.tbn.jpg
Any idea how to stop this happening ? Is the cause obvious or obscure?
Tried RCDefaulApp which doesn't even seem to tie .tbn up with Preview or jpgs anywwhere.
    Baffled.

You probably have it set to "Hide extension" in the Finder, so when you try to rename xxx to xxx.tbn you are only renaming the initial part of the name, and the .jpg is still there.
Good thought, thanks, but I always display the extensions.
So if I click twice the name image.jpg shows, I then move the cursor to the end and replace 'jpg' with 'tbn', the file then becomes image.tbn.jpg.
I can do the same procedure with a different suffix for testing, say '.mpg' and I'm asked if I want to change the extension.
    It really is odd.

  • Change Published Replenishment Order

    Hi,
I'm implementing SMI scenario with SAP SNC 5.1. I was traying to change a Published Replenishment Order, to do this i have:
Created and published a Replenishment Order in SNC Web UI -> The Purchase Order is correctly created in customer Backend system (ECC).
Allowed supplier to change published ROs
Changed and re-published the Replenishment Order in SNC Web UI -> The idoc incoming in Customer Backend system, to change the PO, is in error:
The material number for item 000001 could not be identified
For the PO changes, SNC send to PI the VendorGeneratedOrderNotification.XML, PI converts it in to the ORDRCHG.ORDERS05.
In customer backend system (ECC) I've set the Inbound parameters as follow:
    Message type: ORDCHG
    Message Code: SMI
    Process Code: ORDC
I've tried also with Message Code "EF" or blank but these cases the error will be:
EDI: Partner profile inbound not available
Am I doing wrong something? Where I did a mistake?
Thank you in advance for your support.
Edited by: PTP Team Consultants on Jan 24, 2012 11:42 AM

    Hi PTP
First of all Process Code: ORDC is to change sales order
Secondly, Why the business allows supplier to change published RO?
If there is a change that is always performed by supplier, then please do not publish VGON xml to customer system. Wait for confirmation of Sales order from Supplier and then trigger VGON xml to customer system, that would be the best practise to follow
I do not know how this works, have you tried not maintaining any ORDCHG MESSAGE TYPE
    Like you were saying
Created and published a Replenishment Order in SNC Web UI -> The Purchase Order is correctly created in customer Backend system (ECC).
This is taken care by inbound parameter
    Message type: ORDRSP
    Message Code: SMI
    Process Code: ORDS
Is it not taking care for the changed xml?

  • Change published FQDN for 2012 R2 RDS

I have Windows Server 2012 R2 (single server hosting all the roles for RDS). I'm using RDS for publishing RemoteApps for both internal and external users. External users connect to remote.company.com and I have certificate from public ca (issued to remote.company.com).
    Active Directory is company.local.
When external users connect through the rds gateway and run remoteapp they receive this warning message that is caused by fqdn mismatch
I tried to use this script to change fqdn to match remote.company.com and it does that but after that external users cannot open remoteapps anymore. Internally they work.
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Change-published-FQDN-for-2a029b80
I get this error in eventlog:
The user "COMPANY\username", on client computer "xx.xx.xx.xx", did not meet resource authorization policy requirements and was therefore not authorized to resource "remote.company.com". The following error occurred: "23002".
If I change the published fqdn back to rds.company.local remoteapps starts to work again but with certificate error.
    How can I fix this?

    Hi,
In RD Gateway Manager, please edit the properties of the RD RAP.   On the Network Resource tab, please select Allow users to connect to any network resource.  After modifying the RD RAP please use Set-RDPublishedName cmdlet to change the published
name to the correct FQDN as you did before.
Once you verify it is working you could go back in (if you want to) and create a RDG-managed group with all of the required names.
    Thanks.

  • Change File Extensions (Newbie)

I want to exchange .html extensions to .php in a folder. Actually, someone showed me how to it with AppleScript. However, someone else told me about Autmator, which looks like a really cool tool. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to change file extensions with it.
When I open Automator, I get a little window that lists seven scripts or functions, beginning with Change Extension. If I right-click on Change Extension and choose open with Automator 2.0, I get a bigger window ("untitled") with a long list of actions on the left. Again, I click Change Extensions.
On the right is a little box titled "Ask for Finder Items." It includes three options:
Prompt, Start at and Type. But I don't know how to precede. How do I indicate what file extension I want to change from or to?
I first asked about Automator on a thread at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9490359#9490359
Someone posted an image that shows a second window where you type in the file extensions you want to work with. But I can't figure out how to make that window appear on my program.
    Thanks for any tips.

Here's a simple solution. Select all the files in the folder by navigating to the folder in the Finder. With the files displayed press COMMAND-A to select them all. Press OPTION-COMMAND-I to open the Inspector window. In the Name and Extension field change the extension from .html to .php. Close the window.

  • Changing file extension for Blu-Ray H264 export

The output is written as .m4v, and my authoring tool will not accept this.
It must be any of the following: m2v, m2p, mpg, mpeg, avc, 264, h264 bsf or vc1
Can I simply change the extension - or is there a way to get the correct extension I need?
(CinemaCraft allows you to define the extension used, for example)

Any containering around the raw .264 video stream will screw up the embedded information.
Non-Encore Bluray authoring tools will not accept any file format that is containering that stream.
Also, if you want your bluray to be "legal" - ie be possible of passing a verification suite for pressing at a repro house - you have to export to raw .264 (thus why high end author tools won't import .m4v, mp4, mov etc).
So, not you can't just change the extension. a m4v file is a ISO media container that holds a video stream... yes m4v, mp4 and mov are all based on the same standard - and yes you can thus change the file extension and it often works but......
... in this case you need a raw h.264 stream as a file (.264).
The only thing I can think of is that you container it to MPEG-Transport Stream (MPEG-TS) with the file extension .mpg.
It has the highest chance of import but I'm not sure if it destroys the h.264 stream's ability to pass BD verification.
Note also that I've heard that the bundled H.264 encoder (made by Main Concept) does not have the mandatory "slice" support for AVC level 4.1 and higher so if you encode at that level it's already an illegal stream that you can guarantee will not play ok in every consumer blu-ray player.

  • Mail changes the extension in attachments

Mail keeps changing the extension in file attachments. I can attach a word (.doc) document but when it sends it, the attachment is received as ".doc0". Therefore the receiver cannot open it. Same thing happens with PDF that is being sent as ".pdf0". Has anybody experienced this?

I found it! Why the extension changes.
It has to do with signatures!
When you place the PDF file just above the signature (or I guess inside), the extension changes name!
    This is my signature:
    Jonatan 'Kip' Kipowsky
    0709-XX XX XX
    [email protected]
Since I have TWO enters (for the air) above the line above my name, when I place the PDF file just above the line I place it INSIDE the signature.
I tried it high above the line and just over. Every time I placed it over, it changed the name, to .pdfdf and such.
    How did I find out?
I used at PDF file with spaces in the name, foregin letters (swedish), two different mail servers (smtp) and sent to two different adresses (yahoo.se and my own). I tried with text and without text in the mail. Tried waiting, so the message would be auto-saved and without. Tried all different ways. Yes, friends. For an hour I had no life!
