Change received name in Message

In "Message", when I send a message to some one, it comes up as a shorten version of my name, so for example, "scooby" but my full name is scoobydoo.
I would like to change it to my full name EG: scoobydoo.
can any one tell me how to do this please?

What sort of Account are you Chatting from ?
Are you talking about how your appear in the Chat ?
There is a setting in the View Menu that says Buddy Names
This can change what you see in the Chat and Buddy lists for the Names
"Handles" is Screen Names from AIM or IDs from Jabber of Yahoo.
"Full Name" is as the First Name and Last Name in the Contacts List.
"Shortname" can be a Nickname or the First Name if a Nickname has not been set up.
In a Buddy List right click a Buddy
Then use CMD and i together (Get Info)
In the Info Card that appears set it to Address Card if not already set.
There is a box here for Nicknames.
This will add it to the Contacts app card even if you have not set the Contacts Preferences to have a Nickname field.
As you can "fool" the Contacts app by putting both First Name and Last Name in the same text field you can end up with separate address Cards for the same person but with different info on them.
I have done this for myself.
In means in some pics I look like the Shortname choice is not working
Despite have the same pic these two Chats are between two AIM Accounts that are on two Address Cards (Messages will not let you set different pics for different accounts unlike iChat did ).
So as both these account are being used in Messages they get the same pic.
However one of the Address Card has "Ralph Johns" as the First Name where ans the other has "Ralph" and ths Last Name as "Johns"
Note:- on the left hand side of the Chat I am "Ralph" as the Buddy and not "Ralph Johns"
As far as I can tell this choice works with the iMessages account as well (Via the Messages window)

I find that File2(20090413-171533-928) was ouput before File1(20090413-171534-053 ) from the time stamp.
I am not sure about that "XI will create a message ID for each message and the messages are independent." as you mentioned above.

Change Queue name in Message mapping

We want to change the queue name dynamically in the message mapping.
We refered the post

But as said in it, we are not able to access the parameter QUEUE_ID or QUALITY_OF_SERVICE.
Other than these two parameters, we can access all parameters.
Below is the code to access one of them.
while compiling, the message mapping gives error as below.

Hi Anandan,
As given in help you can only get queue Id if you have Quality of service as ExactlyOnceInOrder. So make sure you have selected that option.

Change Receiving System Name in BD64

Hi folks,
               We have our production instance and QA instance; we have copied all data from Production to QA ENV (Client Copy). After that when I login in to QA system I saw in BD64 all the system pointing to receiving production system. I ran BDLS ( transaction ) which convert production logical system name to QA logical system name in tables and as well as in SCC4 transaction.
I again went to BD64 and I noticed after running BDLS my production system name replace to QA system name. But Receiving systems names are still pointing to production systems. I know that BDLS just change the sending system logical name not receiving.
My question is that how I can change or modify the receiving system production names to testing name. Is there any way or program?
I try to change the receiving system name but its not letting me change. You guys have any idea how to change the receiving system production name to test name.
I dont want to create all distribution model names with test systems as I have 30 distribution models and client copy is keep on going after every 1 or 2 months.
Please help me in this regards.

The OSS notes just tell about the BDLS. I already done with BDLS Scenarios is like that say we have one distribution model name in Production
Model name = ZXYZ
(Sender system) Production system name = PRD_123
(Receiving production System in UK)      = PRD_UK
These above are the setting for Production client.
We copy data from Production to Quality, so its copy all the data and Distribution name in QA ENV
So now my QA looks like
Model name = ZXYZ
Sender system) Production system name = PRD_123
Receiving production System in UK)      = PRD_UK
After that I ran T-code BDLS and give logical system name = QA_123, then when I go back to BD64 the model is looks like following
Model name = ZXYZ
Sender system) Production system name = QA_123
Receiving production System in UK)      = <b>PRD_UK </b>
But PRD_UK isnt change because its the production system for receiving one , so Now I need to modify <b>PRD_UK to QA_UK in BD64</b> , How Ill do it ?
I am trying to change receiving system but it doesnt allowing me.

Changed Sender name/address of previously received email?

Something weird is happening with my Apple Mail. I'm receiving some old messages that I already received last year, but the Sender name has been changed to a totally different person. That is, the re-sent message has the wrong Sender name and not the name of the sender who originally sent me the message. I've only received a couple of these messages but when I looked around in my mailbox, I noticed that this same thing has happened to other messages too.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is my mail getting too full? Any advice would be appreciated.

In what way are you receiving this message? It is very common to get an email telling you that your ID has been disabled, and asking you to confirm all your details so the sender can steal your identity online.....

I can no longer receive e-mail messages through my @mac/@me account. I can still send e-mail messages, though. I believe there may have been recent attempts to hack into my account. I have changed my password, but wonder how to start receiving mail again?

I have already changed my Apple password, but how do I start receiving mail again?
(And I should also say that I'm a little surprised there was no alert from Apple of suspicious activity on my account, if such was the case. Instead, when I logged into my account via Mobile Me three days ago I noticed that all messages in my inbox were gone as well as all of my contacts. I assume this was related to the current problem.)

The problem has been solved with the help of a MobileMe online counsellor. My MobileMe account had in fact been hacked into and the fraudster had been redirecting my e-mail messages to a phony account that he controlled. We took the forward off and reset all my passwords and security questions, which solved the immediate problem.

I had this very same problem when trying to activate iMessage and Facetime on my iPad. When I signed into my account, I actually wasn't even presented with the option of a phone number - notwithstanding the fact that I was contacting others (and being reached by others) by my phone number on my iPhone. Having both the iPad and the iPhone on, I kept trying to turn off and on both iMessage and Facebook in Settings on both my iPad and iPhone, hoping that that they would eventually sync. But this proposed solution by others was unsuccessful for me.
Then, I found out what the problem was: When my iPhone was activated, it automatically registered my phone number for contact purposes. I was using iMessage on my iPhone for quite some time without actually being signed into my Apple ID account. When another device - such as an iPad or iPod - is being used for iMessage or Facebook, you are prompted to sign into your Apple account, using your username and password. These two devices will not register your phone number as an option for contact unless your iPhone is signed into your Apple account as well. In other words: your phone number will not be synced.
Go into your "Settings" on your iPhone and click on "Messages". Scroll down and click on "Send & Receive" (which should be followed by your phone number). On the next page, you will be able to determine whether or not your iPhone is using the Apple ID for messaging purposes. (Note: This information applies for Facetime as well.) If it is using your Apple ID for messaging, than at the top, you will see "Apple ID: <your particular e-mail account>" in Blue text. However, if you are not using your Apple ID for messaging, than you will see the words: "Use your Apple ID for message". Even though below this you will see your phone number checked as the contact source, you will want to click the tab that says, "Use your Apple ID for message". Sign into your account (just as you must sign in for iMessage on your other devices), and just choose your phone number as the "Send & Receive" contact. (The option of the e-mail will be there too, but you don't have to check it. And later on, you can delete it as an option.)
Now that all of your devices are signed in using your Apple ID, the other devices should register your phone number as a choice. It may take a little while, however. What I did was sign out of iMessage on my iPad, and then sign in again. If the option didn't appear, I just went back and signed in again, and kept doing this until the option for the phone number appeared.
Again, this will work for Facetime as well. The solution is to sync your iPhone account with the other devices by using your Apple ID for messaging (and Facetime) purposes.

Why am I receiving an error message while trying to change my phone number?

So I have been trying to change my phone number for a few days now and every single time I get this error message, before i even start, "The activity you are trying to perform is currently unavailable. Please try again later." I was hoping to circumvent the 15$ fee of doing it over the phone. Finally, I decided to do an online chat, the associate did not know why the error was occurring but informed me in order to change my number over chat, i would STILL have to pay the 15$ fee. Something struck me as so wrong there, so conveniently the change features and phone number part of the website was not working, however the view/pay your bill part was always working properly, never received any error messages there. I understood it was not the associates fault however. Still that is wrong. If it was not urgent I would wait. Yes I could have tried the number block, that section was not working either, but having to renew which numbers you want blocked every couple of months makes no sense to me, if I want something blocked, i want it blocked permanently not just for 90 days. Yes I tried call/SMS blocker apps from the app store but they're faulty in that they still give you notifications of when the blocked person/number called/text or do not always block everything all the time. But when it came down to it, even the associate encountered the error message while trying to change my number. So why is this happening. Verizon is expensive but the reception is better however theirs always issues when I need to fix something. Its frustrating

Verizon was having a problem on their end, perhaps a server down for some repair or updating. However you were already aware that there was an on-going problem in your own posting and you decided to continue on.I can understand you wanting this done and trying to save the $15.00 fee. However I would have waited a bit longer until the Verizon issue had been corrected. Yes it is frustrating but again you know in advance of a problem , I can understand that this is most upsetting for you but never try to perform any change when a problem is there and I also do not like to do business on a weekend with no live tech support available. Settings-icloud-scroll to the bottom, select delete, if you want to keep the content select keep, otherwise it'll remove it. Then once it is done add the account information for the account you want on that phone. Your apple ID in settings-store will remain the same and each device can still purchase/use content from that account.

Changing email name (not email address) from received emails in mail progra

Is it possible to have a script change the name of the sender? I would imagine it would use the "extract name from" term from within mail.
I have a friend who's name is questionable and I don't want my kids to see it as it appears.

I was having this problem for the whole night with my wife's Ipad, which is configured with her yahoo email. Same error message through the Mailer Daemon when she tried to send to my yahoo email.
After multiple tries, I decided to bite the bullet and delete the email account from her Ipad and then re-add her email on the Ipad. Everything is working fine now.

Can't change Google Talk name in Messages

I'm having trouble changing my displayed name in Messages in Google Chat. In "Internet Accounts", I only have my iCloud account and my Google account, both of which say my name. Additionally, in Messages, all of my accounts say my name. However, my buddy list window for my Google Talk/Jabber account says a different name (its the primary account name used by my family for App Store/iTunes).
