Change/Repair option for BO AIX installation

Hello,
I know that under Windows it's possible to change a full install SP of BO 4.0 later by opening the installation in the control panel and chose change/repair. There it's possible to add or remove parts of the installation (like the BO Mobile Server).
But how can this be done in an AIX environment - how can I add the BO Mobile Server to an existing BO installation?
thanks!

Hello,
Just to be sure. Imagine the following scenario:
.) The last full install was BO 4.0 SP2
.) Since SP2 until now (SP 7.6) only updates were applied
.) in BO 4.0 SP5 the mobile server was added to the AIX installation, but because SP5 was installed as an update, it's not installed now in SP 7.6
--> What's the best way to add mobile server to the existing system?
Do I have to run a full install package (SP 6?) on the existing installation? Is it going to overwrite the whole existing installation/config files?
Thanks!

How can I change view options for ALL playlists? With one single click or trick?
I have a lot playlists and don't want to change every single one of them separatly.
Thanks for your help. (I use Windows 7)

There's no FAST way I know of, which is what I think you mean.
Only the painful SLOW way of one-by-one.
You could make a new playlist from the main library after you've set the columns up as you like.
Go to an existing playlist that doesn't have the columns you want, and select all.
RIght-click > Add to Playlist and send them to the new playlist.
That's still one-by-one and only works with static playlists, not smart ones.

  • Change view options for only one window

Usually I prefer to view my windows as icons, but I like certain specific windows to show up in list mode. On 10.4, in the View Options, there was an option for "This window only" but that seems to be missing in 10.5. Am I just blind???

I agree. i enjoyed that feature in 10.4. It drives me nuts that if I want to change the view options for one folder because of the way I want to view its specific contents, the rest of folders on my system changes at the same time. I would appreciate it if each folder had a "memory" of its own view option settings.
However, I acknowledge that sometimes you would want to change a setting that affect all windows. But it shouldn't overwrite the remainder of the settings. If, for example, you wanted to change the text size of every icon in every window, but leave everything else as set in each individual folder, there should be an option for this!

  • Changing View Options for only 1 folder

I tried changing the View Options for Documents so that I can see which ones were modified recently, however it applies the Date Modified option to every single folder, including my home folder.
Is there anyway to just change the View Option to a single folder at a time. For example, I'd like to have Documents by Date Modified, but my home folder (user folder) to be arranged my name so that all my folders show up alphabetically.

  • Changing View Options for a Finder SEARCH Results

I want to add SIZE to the Finder window that is generated from a <command> Find.
I cannot add anything to the standard Name/Kind/Last Opened. I want to add SIZE to the search results window. When I choose View Options, the options window says:
There are no view options for the Searching This Mac window.

In normal Finder windows you can select View>view options>*Calculate all sizes*
In Finder search window results, this has been hobbled. Here is the work around:

  • Changing kernel options for Xorg.

    Hi, all!
My video card (ATI Radeon) and monitor (Sun GDM-5410) combination cause problems with some kernels, ie, I get 'out of range' problems on my monitor. The default kernel on the Arch build is one of the distros that struggles with this.
I did an install of Gentoo the other day and using the Gentoo installation guid [0], ensured that everything was correctly 'switched-on' in the kernel and X was fine. I want to get Arch installed with X running properly, and was wondering what the best way is to ensure the kernel options are 'switched-on' and the kernel compiled properly. I don't need anything special like proprietary drivers, so I should just be able to take the stock Arch kernel and make my changes. Does Arch do this in a special 'Arch' way, or is there anything else I need to know?
I did Google this, but the article was talking about grabbing another kernel and compiling stuff in. I don't need another kernel :-)

    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Chris.

Thank you. I guess the question is, if I compile an option into the kernel for my graphics card, will I have to do this every time the kernel is upgraded?
I'll look at the links you provided and hopefully things will be a bit clearer.
Ten years ago, I'd re-compile kernels without thinking about it. I guess that because the kernel now has such good hardware support, i'm a little out of practice. :-)
    Thanks,
    Chris.

  • Change view options for a single folder

I use the Finder exclusively in "column view".
I have a folder that contains some huge (> 1 GB) .tiff files. If I navigate to one of these files, the Finder tries to generate a preview image, but this typically takes more than a minute. I want to turn off the "Show preview column" for this folder (but only for this folder). Under Finder>View>View options I can hide the preview column, but this change applies to my entire file tree. I can't find a way to restrict the change to a single folder.
Note - if you work in "list view", the view options menu gives you a choice of making changes to "this window only" or "all windows". Not so in column view.

Probably the best option is to put that folder in list view. When you navigate to the folder containing that folder in your normal Column view, you can hold down the Command key and double click the folder. It will then open in a new window and display in List view. If you use this folder frequently, drag it to the Dock, when you select it from there it will open in List view. I have a number of things that I prefer to open in List or Icon view, rather than my usual Column view, but don't want to clutter up my Dock, so I keep aliases to some of them on my Desktop, and some in my home folder (depending on how often I access them). The ones on the Desktop open in the preferred form with a double click, the ones in my home folder open the way I want with a Command double click.

  • A family of 5, have new iphone 4s phones.Because we shared an itunes     account previously, now when installing the new phones, it does not allow us to update to individual itunes accounts.  How do we change the accounts for each phone installation?

A family of 5, have new iphone 4 s phones.
Because we shared the itunes account previously, on installation of the new devices, the computer does not recognise individual itunes accounts.
So all 5 devices are sharing the same itunes account!!!
How do we set up new accounts on each individual phone?

The iTunes stores in different countries are entirely separate.  You can only use an iTunes store credit in the country in with it was created and purchased content cannot be shared across countries.  Family sharing groups must be country-specific, using iTunes store credits for purchases only within that country, and sharing purchases that were made in that country.  You can contact iTunes store support for more details on these restrictions here: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • How can i change sort options for a playlist in ios8? I would like to sort by album, or album artist like I can in iTunes for OSX.

So here's an example of why I would like to figure this out. I have a playlist on my iPhone that contains only new music. I would like to be able to sort this playlist by artist, so that when i click on the playlist, I can quickly find the album I have added to the playlist and play it. Currently, I can only see a long list of tracks. How do you sort playlists?
    Thanks!

I just found the solution to this myself.
In a very un-Apple way, this is an undocumented feature only accessible by right- (or control-) clicking.
    1. Change one track to your desired sort settings (for instance, set the Sort Artist to Yankovic, Weird Al.
    2. Right-click on that track. In the contextual menu that appears, there is a new submenu called "Apply Sort Field." If you choose "Same Artist," it will apply your new sorting information to all your other tracks by "Weird Al" Yankovic (or, if you are not a huge nerd, any other artist you substitute).

  • Changing View Options for ALL Playlists together

This question has remained without simple answer in spite of being asked many times. I think that I have an answer, the procedure is the following:
    (1) Open the "source" iTunes Library
    (2) File/Library/Export Library…          Save the list of Playlists
    (3) Close the "source iTunes Library
    (4) Create a new "destination" iTunes folder
    (5) Import one (or more) song from a CD
    (6) Select Music on top of the LIBRARY window
    (7) View/View Options…                               Set the View Options as desired
    (8) File/Library/Import Library…          Import the list of Playlists saved in (2)
    (9) Remove the auxiliary song(s) introduced in (5)
In the "destination" iTunes folder, the View Options of ALL playlist are those set in (7), irrespective of what they were in the "source". This works using iTunes 10.5 on an Intel iMac runing OSX 10.6.8, and presumably also with other configurations.
Any simpler, faster, or less memory greedy solution?

I'm not sure about a PC, but with a Mac you hold down the Control key and click on the right-most column's title bar. A menu of columns shows up with your current columns having check marks beside them. Just check or un-check the ones you want. To resize a column, click on the thin vertical line that separates the columns' names. Your cursor should change to a two-way arrow when you move across the adjustment line - just like in a spread sheet. Just click on the line and drag its width to suit you.

  • Change one option for kernel recompile ?

    Greetings,
I want to change a single kernel configuration option (CONFIG_HZ) and rebuild this kernel :
        3.0-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT x86_64
I also want to do this in the simplest, fastest way possible. Suggestions ?
Btw, I haven't used the ABS, so if that's the preferred method I'll need some hand-holding to get my bearings with it.
    TIA,

  • HT4847 When deciding to change backup options for installed applications on my iPhone, what exactly does the backup of applications backup??

Am I backing up the application data, like login info?  Or is it backing up the application itself, so if I were to lose or need to replace my phone, I could have all the apps loaded back on, & in the order in which they were in??

The app data is stored, and I think, a reference to all apps (but not the actual apps, since you can always download them again for free from the app store).  Getting them in the right order is iffy - I've read posts from users who restored and found apps all out of order, but I think others say everything restored okay.

  • Changing the material options for multiple selections doesn't seem to work

    Hi!
Is it just me or is it not possible to select multiple layers and change their material options like specularity and shininess all at once? Selecting the layers and clicking on cast shadows certainly does work like this, but for some reason when I do the same and change the specularity, it changes only for that layer, regardless of the selection for the other layers.
Are you able to change material options for multiple layers in one click?

Works for me... Not sure what else to say. The only thing to consider would be that you need to expose the same properties on all layers or else AE can't match the property streams, so it may be advisable to hit AA to expose all material options instead of just U or UU to reveal changed/ animated properties.

  • Office 2007 Inbox repair tool for Outlook

Running Office 2007 Windows 7 64bit received this error but program wont open for me to follow its suggestion.   "Can not open errors have been detected close and then use the inbox repair tool scanpst.exe"Warrior57

    Hi,
If you open your Outlook and receive this message, you may need to use the Inbox Repair Tool to repair your PST file. Follow these steps:
On the Start menu, click Run.
    In the Open box, type
    drive:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\LocaleID\scanpst.exe
where LocaleID is the locale identifier (LCID) for your installation of Microsoft Office. For example, the LCID for English (United States) is 1033. For a list of LCIDs, see Microsoft Office Help.
    Click OK.
In the Enter the name of the file you want to scan box, type the path and file name given in the error message above.
Note   You may not be able to use the
Browse button to locate this file because it is located in a hidden folder.
To change the options for logging errors during the scan, click Options. If you choose
Replace log or Append to log, the log file is saved to the same directory as the .pst file.
    Click Start.
When the file scan is completed, select the Make a backup of scanned file before repairing check box.
    Click Repair.
If the file is successfully repaired, you will see a Repair complete message. If the Inbox Repair Tool was unable to repair the file, you will need to use a backup of your file.
    Hope that helps.
