Hi,
You can change it thru SE38, but doesn't serve the purpose,
if it's regenerated dynamically your code will be over-written &
there's lot of overhead in change thru SE38.

Hi,
Make those fields what ever user wants to enter in the selection screen aslo the field which you want to change by user.
When ever user clcik on execute then they should get message by saying that "Description is changed".
Code:
1. create one work area type table of MARA.
2. fetch the single record form MARA into that structure where table entries = user inputs
3. map the description field with user entered field to be change
4. Unlock the table
5. modify the table from work area
6. Lock the table.
7. Pass the message.

with the reportviewer widget in a winforms app, i'm able to change report displayname at runtime by handling thesubmittingparametervalues event like so:
        private void reportViewer1_SubmittingParameterValues(object sender, ReportParametersEventArgs e)

question: how do i achieve the same thing when the report is run via the ssrs reportserver website?

According to your description, you want to change the display name of report in Report Manager. Right?
In Reporting Services, we can't make the report file name dynamically. But we have Build-in Fields to show report name and execution time in a report. We can add a textbox and put in the expression below:
="Load on- "+Globals!ReportName+" "+Globals!ExecutionTime
It will show the report name with execution time when we run the report:

How to change infoobject descriptions in a query after change the infoobjec

Hi all,
Imagine that you have 200 queries in production and need to change some descriptions in 2 infoobjects. eg:
Infooject 1 = "Customer Sales View"
Changed to "Cust.View of New MKT"
Infooject 2 = "Material for sales"
Changed to "Material"
Is there any way to change all queries automatically ? Via Report or Function or Transaction ?
Suggestions ?

We recently had upgraded to NW2004s and in few queries even when I login with different language for instance Portugese the infoobject descriptions still show up in english and are not changed.
Can you please let me know if I need to update the RSZELTXT table along with other tables. If so can you please forward me the ABAP Code in order to do the same.
Your help would be really appreciated if you can reply promptly as our UAT is pending on this issue.

FI Report Description to long text

hi Gurus
I wanted to change FI report description to long text but some how it is picking up medium text only.
I have tried all options like: Header text legnth, report lay out, elements text change , row coulmn text change and even definition.
Please guide how can i change this.

Do obtain text from table STXL you can use FM: READ_TEXT.
Get the entry from STXL that you are requiring and get the text using this FM.

Change the description of a field in a SAP QUERY

Can i change the description of a field in a SAP QUERY report in the output of the report.or only the standard descriptions can be displayed.

HI,
in query maintenance (sq01) you can change the text of the field at the selection screen (change the selection text in the screen where you choose the selection fields) and the header text in the output list (basiclist maintennace , go to "basic list header", double-click each header field to maintain the text). This change is only for the particular query. No ABAP-er required to do so.

Report Description in BI - how to..

Hello,
I want to create for various reports a description ("What does the report say"). One way can be to create a link to the document in the WebTemplate. But this is a static variant.
Target is to create a dynamic variant. That means that in the WebTemplate should be no change (link to the document) should not change if the document is changed.
Is there any possiblity?
Also other file formates should be available. Is Knowledge Warehouse a solution?

What i understand from your query is that you want to have standard web template format but dynamically you have assign the report descriptions. For this you can do one thing as BI uses the default 0Analysis_pattern web template for the Enterprise reporting information broadcasting and so on. You can create a custom(Z version) Web template by copying this standard template( 0Analysis_pattern) and change the format as you wish and assign the Z version template as the default template for all you queries. You can set up this with tcode RSCUSTV27. I hope this helps you.

SE38 with program : RSMODWRD
Enter your field (data element) + language.
Another way :
TCode : CMOD and in menu bar Goto / Text enhancements / keywords/Change
I think, a direct transaction exists but i don't find.

u cannot change the description of result to total
uv can contact abaper to get his/her view on this and see if u can change the description to total etc.
secondly u intent to reflect this change in query execution in Analyzer or on Web

How Can I add/change text/description in accounting view of Vendor master ?

/nxk02 --> (give vendor, company code )
then check the check box of 'Accounting info' under Company code data block --> then hit 'Enter'
--> it goes to next screen. Then in this screen, click menu 'Extras' --> then press "Texts" under that menu.
So that popup screen appears with the Description.
I need to know from where these descriptions are coming or where these descption can be maintained ? Because I need to add/change these descriptions to my vendors

Because these texts are maintained at Company Code level for the Vendor, they are part of the Accounts Payable configuration in the SAP IMG.
