Is there any way I can change my Skype number? I need to change the area code or first 3 digits

Unfortunately, no. The only way to change your Skype Number is to cancel your current subscription, which stops its renewal, and to choose a new Skype Number.

Changing Skype Number?

Is it possible to change a Skype Number? I have just signed up a week ago intending to relocate from one US city to another. I am no longer relocating but would like an anonymous number like this one to dispense on business cards etc. Can I change the online number?

A Skype Number works like a subscription; you can cancel it, and start a new one. You may not otherwise "change" the number you currently subscribe to to something else.

Skype number payment FAILED Due to change in debit...

1.) My 3-month reoccuring billing cycle for Skype number: xxx xxx xxxx failed due to the debit card number changed.
2.) I have deleted ALL other payment methods and inserted the current active card (ending in xxx xxxx but the xxxxxxxx Swedish Krona owing has yet to be retreived and paid.
3.) It appears my Skype number may be cancelled? I do NOT want to lose the use of this number!
4.) Am quite upset that I can't speak or chat LIVE with a Skype representative!
5.) How I use my Skype number: xxx xxx xxxx This is an L.A. Area Code, from which I receive incomming calls. I have a GOOGLE VOICE account, which I use for making ALL outgoing calls, I do NOT use Skype for this purpose (only incomming).
6.) I appears my Skype number: xxx xxx xxxx is no longer working, as I attempted to call and test, but it just rang and didn't even get my voice mail?

Yes, however only by
cancelling the Skype Number subscription you currently have; and
starting a new Skype Number subscription.
Be sure to explain the circumstances when you please contact Skype Customer Service to request a refund as Skype Number subscriptions are not refundable.

Not to change but to let it expire the current 3-month contract at its end thereafter to start 1-year contract with the same Skype number.

Skype Changed my number how do i get a refund?

Hello. I had a skype number and used it for about 9 months. The autopayment takes care of the subscription renewal. I live in Australia and travel to China often. To stay in contact I divert my Australian mobile number to my skype number while I am away and then I divert my skype number to my Chinese number while I travel. I get all calls (well kind of).
Now I am away in China. Before I left I diverted my Australian mobile to my Skype number. The subscription just became due and without asking or telling me Skype just changed my Skype number. So my australian number is now diverted to the wrong number. I cant change it because I have forgotten my Vodafone online password and I cant receive texts here to reset my password.
I want my old skype number back or a refund. How do I do this?
Also what gives with this crap support - how can i chat online to a skype support persopn where are they? Or is it really that crap?

I have just taken a Skype number and wanted to try it out first on a months payment plan....
I now want to change this to an anual payment plan how do I do this?

I know this sounds bizarre, however what you need to do is let your Skype Number subscription run its course and expire. Once it does, then you can sign on to your account details where you manage your payment methods, subscriptions, and so on, and Reactivate the number. When you do, you can change the term of the subscription.
After your Skype Number expires, the number will be held for you for 90 days.

For clarification, a Skype Number subscription is separate from and unrelated to a Skype Calling Subscription which offers discounted prices for placing calls to land lines (and in some cases, mobile numbers). In the Windows version of Skype, the settings to record a new voice mail greeting are here:
Tools -> Options -> Calls -> Voice Messages. Remember to Save your updates!
