Change slide size without resizing objects?

Is it possible to change the slide size without causing Keynote '09 to resize all the objects on each slide?

As far as I can tell it's not possible. You have to make a new presentation with the size you want and copy paste everything from the previous presentation into it.

  • Reducing Slide Size without scaling objects

    Hi All,
I have a presentation that is in 2 sizes 1920X1220 and 1920X1080. If we increase the custom size of a slide show it does not resize the type and content.
If we try to decrease the size it resizes the type and content.
Unfortunately we started making changes to the 1920X1220 and need to resize it down.
Is there a way to reduce the size of a slide without it scaling the content and type?

Nothing that's especially convenient. If you copy elements from the larger document, and paste them into the smaller document, the original size(s) will be retained. Everything will then have to be realigned in the smaller document (the pasted position is always relative to the upper-left corner of the receiving page, so the pasted elements will no longer be centered on a different size page).

  • How to stop changing stroke weights when changing the size of an object in CS5 on Windows 7?

I'm not sure what I did to make this happen or how to change it back, but for some reason when I change the size of an object/line it changes the stroke weight as well. (For example, if I drew an ellipse with stroke weight 2 pt, and then increased the size the stroke weight would be 2.856 pt or some such number instead of 2 pt.) Does anyone know how to change this back?
    Thanks!

Take a look at the Scale Strokes and effects preference either in the general programme preferences or in the flyout menu of the Transform palette.

No, especially not video files. That's way too much scaling.

  • How to change the size of every object in a flash file

i created a flash website but the problem is the size is to large to fit on screen i have imbeded buttons, Movies clips, masks, and about 7 different scenes in this 13 mb movie what do i do to make the physicle size of the objects on screen so i can view it on my sceen?

the easiest thing to do would be to load your swf into a main swf and resize the target movieclip (as2) or loader (as3) after loading is complete.

  • HT2925 Change slide size iPad version?

Is their a way to change the exported slide size in keyNote on the iPad version?

Are you bringing in anything from a PowerPoint presentation?
Not sure what's causing it, but one thing you could do to try to highlight the problem is LOCK the file. This way, anytime you try to change it, you'll get a window popping up telling that you can't and that will help you determine at what point the file is being changed.
Save off an original and compare it after a few days to see what the differences are.

  • Scale content when changing slide size

If I resize my keynote slide size to a different aspect ratio, is there a way to have it scale all the content?
I have hundreds of Illustrator files that I have imported into keynote (by drag/drop and it seems to rasterized the image). Making the slide size taller makes the background show through above and below my images. It would be nice if I didn't have to select and scale each individual image using the inspector. I realize the image will "stretch".
I did read someone's suggestion to batch the files in photoshop and resize them all, then re-import them all, but it would make a new presentation and I would lose all my notes and transitions.
    thanks

This is an issue happening on your Mac, it is not a common problem, in fact Keynote has never crashed on my system since installing.
Try the following repair for Keynote,  ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1  delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application
2  restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3  immediately after the start chime,  press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up,  it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4  when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive  then First Aid tab and      click  repair disc permissions
5  when complete, restart the Mac normally
6  install Keynote from the Mac App Store
Please report back to let us know if this helped.

  • Changing partition size without reformatting drive?

I heard a rumor that in Leopard you can change the size, name, or other details of a partitioned HDD without having to erase and reformat it.
Is this correct? If so, that would be a huge advantage for me, as I often don't predict how much drive space I'll need to use.

Tell me if I'm wrong, though, but it seems that DU can only shrink. So, if you have 2 partitions, after you shrink one, you can't increase the size of the other. I hope I am wrong here. Please let me know if your experience is different. I think we'd all like to know how it goes, regardless.
That said, VolumeWorks can do as you require. DO NOT do this without a backup of everything.

  • Change slide size in 2 slide/page layout?

Several folks indicated that you can use the "layout" view to produce a handout with 2 slides per page. But there is still quite a bit of white space. How can you increase the slide size on the page to make them bigger? Also, is there a way to add page numbers to the page (I already have slide numbers).

    Rocketscience,
    welcome to the Keynote Discussions.
Well, I think the border around the two slides I print is just enough to punch and file the paper.
Oh, wait, I'm using [DIN] A4 format. Well, try this:
    * In the print dialog choose Layout from the "Copies & Pages"
dropdown box and set "Pages per Sheet" to 2
(you know that but I repeat it for other readers)
    * Choose Paper Handling from the same dropdown box and mark
"Scale to fit paper size:". Select A4 from the corresponding
dropdown box (yes, even if you don't use A4 format). Unmark
    "Scale down only".
    * Print you slides.
There's no possibility to add page (sheet) numbers in the print dialog. You could prepare a file in Keynote or Pages that only prints a page number and print these numbers in a second run on you handouts. Not very elegant but maybe better than to paginate with a counter

  • Changing slide size in Cap 5 handouts?

    Hi,
I have published Cap 5 projects as handouts, both with and without tables. Without the tables, I can only get one slide per page--but if I include tables, the slides shrink dramatically (even if I only select 2 slides per page). I have looked at the AdobeCaptivate.dot template file, but I can only edit the header/footer. My goal is to have handouts with 2-3 legible slides per page with blank lines for notes.
Has anyone found a fix for this (that doesn't involve manually resizing each slide image)?
    Thank you,
    JAB

Keynote is not designed for printing, it is a screen based presentation application. Keynote is unable to  translate pixels for display into pixels for printing to correctly size and position.
If your intended output is print, use the companion application Pages, or one of the hundreds of page layout applications for the Mac.

  • Changing Partition Size without Deleting (bootcamp)/ Vista Question

Hi, I'm currently running windows xp and OSX together with bootcamp on my black macbook (2 gigs of ram).
I want to install Vista but I don't have anymore space on the Windows XP partition (just 4.42 gigs left). Can I partition my drives again where I get more room for my XP drive without deleting or messing up any of the information?
Also , can I even use vista ultimate upgrade on my macbook?

    Hi,
I believe boot camp is not supporting upgrade version of windows OS.
Run you boot camp assistant to changed the partition size, but I think it will delete all of the XP that already installed there, but you don't need that again if you want to install Vista in that partition right?
do visit boot camp forum for more answer from their experienced user.
    Good Luck

  • Changing photo size without maintaining aspect ration

I need to take a square photo and turn it into a 7x5 without cropping any part of the image, in other words, I need to squish the photo. Can this be done in Aperture and how?

Hi there, unfortunately any image files printed via the ePrint service are automatically printed in 4 x 6" size. Using the smaller paper size you have will only result in sections of your images being cropped and lost from the printed output.
    Sorry about that.

  • Change printer settings without printing?

To create a new template one has to go through the "Printer..." dialog to change the paper size.  Unfortunately, the only way to actually SAVE the new settings is to click OK, which causes Lightroom to print the current image.  In all other programs, the "Printer..." dialog is used only to adjust settings.  In Lightroom it seems to serve as a "Print" dialog as well.  On Windows this violates long-standing UI function guidelines embodied by pretty much all other software.
    A concrete example:
I needed to create a new template to print on 8-1/2 x 11 paper.  To do so, I created a new template while in an existing template for 8x10. This copies the settings to the new template, but one cannot adjust the cell size to anything larger than 8x10.  So I went to the "Printer...:" dialog to change the paper size.  However, when clicking OK on the "Printer..." dialog, to save the new paper size, Lightroom starts printing the current image.
What should happen is that the settings are saved and no printing starts.  Printing should occur only when I click on "Print".
Unless I've missed something and there's a way to change paper size, color profile, paper type, etc. (all the things you can change on the printer driver's dialog) from within Lightroom without invoking "Printer..."?

Jim, you have provided no detail at all.
I can change paper size without printing on my Mac with epson printers. I can even change paper size with o printer attached.
Let us know what your are doing with what set up....

  • Can you resize a slide without resizing text?

When I try to lengthen my slide, Keynote resizes all of my text, horribly distorting the layout. Is there a way to prevent Keynote from doing this?

    Michael,
I've been trying to replicate your problem without success.
Would you please tell us what you mean by "lengthen" or send an image of your distorted slide?
Normally, to change the size of a slide you use the Document Inspector > Slide Size and Select from available options. Even if you customize the dimensions, the text is usually well behaved.

You need to select it.  Copy that selection to a new layer, and use Free Transform to resize it.
