Change Text with Adobe Writer 5.0.

Hello forum!
i have the following problem: a client of us owns adobe writer 5.0 (pc). Nevertheless the client isn't able to "write" pdfs we create wih indesign cs 2 (mac). we use the "web-optimized" configuration.
Can anybody help me with this problem? I would be really glad if you'd help me to solve this problem!!

They have to have Acrobat to make changes (PDF Writer is an obsolete PDF creation tool that came bundled in many cases and is no longer distributed with Acrobat). In any case, PDF Writer will not do the job. If they have Acrobat, you will need to create the PDF to be compatible with their version of Acrobat. I am not sure about the MAC, but in Windows this is done with either the Reduce File Size or PDF Optimizer from within Acrobat.

Thanks. The PDF file was made from a web site article and I guess this is the same as scanned as I cannot highlight. The cursor changes but cannot highlight what I want.
I was able to add text and I did this in Red and will ask the VA to read under the sections marked in Red.

Problems rendering Every-line Composer texts with Adobe Media Encoder

I find the text paragraph setting "Adobe Every-line Composer" a huge time saver when dealing with large amounts of text in after effects. I rarely have to do any manual tracking or line breaks to make it look good, as opposed to working with the standard Single-line Composer.
The problem is that when I render through Adobe Media Encoder (which I'm forced to do since they removed H264-mp4 support from AE:s internal renderer) the text is treated like single-line composed text. So the final render doesn't look like my AE project.
I've found two solutions to this problem:
1. Render a lossless video file in the AE renderer and then compress it with Media Encoder. This takes more time and HDD space, and it doesn't allow me to continue working in AE while rendering.
2. Only use Single-line composed text and make all adjustments manually, the old school way. This would not be a problem if I had not already used, and fallen in love with, the Every-line option.
Is there anyone that can think of a third, and preferably better, solution?
I use the CC 2014 versions of AE and AMC.

No, the text doesn't animate at all. It's just a normal static text box. The text part is extremely simple. All animations are done in other layers and pre-comps, combined with pre-rendered 3D graphics from Cinema 4D, rendered as image sequences. My problem is a bug, plain and simple. Or perhaps you could call it a "lack of feature support" or an "incompatibility between AE and Adobe Media Encoder".
My problem appears only when my AE project has text boxes with the "Every-line Composer" option enabled (press the menu button in the Paragraph window to find it), AND the project is rendered through Adobe Media Encoder, no matter which output format I use. I have no problems what so ever inside of after effects, or when rendering Single-line Composer text in AMC.
So, the problem is that Media Encoder doesn't recognize Every-line composed text. Instead it changes it to Single-line composed text, messing up text tracking and line breaks.
To clarify: the Adobe Every-line Composer is analyzing the entire text box instead of only the current line. That way it can automatically change the tracking of individual lines to better distribute the line breaks and build a better whole, avoiding those stray words on the last line for example. Extremely handy, if you could only render it.
I never wrote anything about animating text or that the codec is related to the text problems in any way. AMC is the problem. The codec is only a secondary problem since its the lack of mp4 H264 support that forces me to use Media Encoder in the first place, instead of using the AE render queue as I did in previous versions of AE. I like many things about rendering through AMC, like being able to continue working in AE while rendering, but there are still way too many glitches. And of course, there's the inability to render flv-files in AMC CC 2014, and Adobe's inability to provide a solution other than "Use an older version of AMC". Flv is their own damn format for christ's sake.
Well, enough rambling.
To put it simple:
Has anyone had a problem with "Every-line Composer" in combination with Adobe Media Encoder? Did you find a solution other than the two less-than-perfect ones in my first message?

Script to Automatically change number to text with Adobe LifeCycle Designer ES 8.2

I am extremely new to FormCalc and scripting and I was wondering if someone can tell me if my query is possible, if so, please help me!

All you need to do is open the PDF in Pro and extend the rights to be able to fill, save and print.
To do this open the file in Acrobat Pro, File save as> Reader extended PDF > Enable additonal features

here you have to GIVE the below fields
1) text name : <doc number> (in our case)
2)Language : EN
3) text id : A01
4) text Object : EKKO
note down these fields & values.
in your program you can use either READ_TEXT & SAVE_TEXT for this purpose.
READ_TEXT : IF any header text available,it will be downloaded to your program in TDLINES. you have to pass above parameters for this func module.
save_Text : first you populate all values in LINES * fill all HEADER details with the above mentioned values & then call this Func module.
this will create header text

Creating scrollable text with Adobe DPS

I'm using the Overlay creator panel to build a vertical scrolling text panel on a page. As I am saving the folio as a PDF the text within the scrolling (pan) container looks different to the non scrolling text columns. I assume this is because the pan function is converted to PNG or JPG and not built as PDF. Is there a way to build scrolling text panels and retain the sharp scalable PDF text? The only solution I can see is to build the folio as a PNG which withh mean larger file sizes. Help!

You're correct, the text inside the scrolling container is getting rasterized at folio creation time, whereas the rest of the text is getting rendered at display time by the PDF engine on the device. This will result in slight differences in appearance on the device, however if you are creating your folios correctly it shouldn't be a sharpness difference.
Are you trying to create content for the new iPad? If so, make sure you are creating your folio in folio builder at 2048x1536. When you add the InDesign document as a PDF article to a folio that size we will rasterize the scrollable frame content at a resolution high enough to look sharp on the new iPad.

Using formats of SO10 text in Adobe forms

Hello guys,
I got a question concerning the interaction of SO10 texts with adobe form text fields.
I know there are some threads about it here, and I think I understand the default SAP behavior, but can you please confirm if I am right? Then I got a special question about one case.
So is it right that there is only the difference between formatting the textfield itself in adobe form layout and adding a style to the text field in form context?
This means:
(1) Whenever in my text field in form context no style is added, the adobe form will take the formatting like it is done in the adobe form layout? This would mean that every format which is entered in the SO10 text is insignificant for the adobe form?
(2) Whenever in my text field a style is added, SAP will use SO10 text formats? This means, SAP searches for the smartforms style which is entered in the textfield and uses the formats from SO10 text like they were defined in the smartforms style?
Is this correct so far?
Now the special questions:
(1) What happens if a style is added, but the style does not exist as smartforms style. Which font etc. will be used then?
(2) What happens if a style is added, but the format of SO10 text does not exist in the smartform style?
In both cases it looks like SAP takes some "default" style, but where does it come from?

Adobe writer opening as default instead of reader

Hi All,
I have recently installed a copy of Adobe Writer onto my machine that already had an installation of Adobe Reader 9.0 on it. The reason for the old writer was to be able modify existing PDF's and the latest copy the company has liscence for.
I now have a problem of all the links on the web trying to automatically open with Adobe Writer, and as an old version will not open. I have to save a copy to the computer and then open with reader from there. Very frustrating.
I have made sure that in my Windows explorer options that Adobe reader is default for opening all PDF file types and have always perform this action ticked but for some reason explorer still continues to try and open the links in the writer. This then leads to an error saying that you need to be opeing document in reader 8.0 or later.
Does anyone know of a fix, without un installing the writer?

Only thing that is assured to work is to upgrade your version of Acrobat to the newest and get rid of Reader or remove the Adobe Reader and install a third party reader (like Foxit). Two things about that is one, you may break Acrobat when you uninstall Reader and have to reinstall and two, Foxit Reader may or may not have all the functions you need for your particular use (or it may be all you need).

I am not sure if this is the place to ask this question but here goes:
First : I am currently using several plugins in a production environment that work well with Acrobat 9.2 Pro on MS Windows.
I have been asked to investigate whether or not the current plugins will work with " Adobe Writer " .
I haven't heard about it before and I don;' know anything at all about it - what it does or how t operates.
I will be looking for all information that I can - on the web , etc -
and I will check back here .
I will update this post later with any information that I find and hopefully, someone has some yuseful information here too .

Adobe Acrobat is a suite of programs. There is Distiller which converts postscript files into pdf files. There is a virtual printer that helps any application that prints to create pdf files by automating the process of sending postscript output from the virtual printer directly to Distiller to create postscript files.
There is an application also called Adobe Acrobat can convert some files into pdf files, but its main uses is to viewing, allow very minor editing of pdf content, filling in forms, creating Acrobat forms (Acroforms), commenting, and the list goes on.
There is a product in the Windows version of Acrobat known as Livecycle Designer that allows for the creation of XML based forms. These forms can be filled out using Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat but are very different from Acroforms. They are more flexible, but cannot be edited in Acrobat.

Why can I now highlight text with mouse pointer in Adobe Reader 9

I just downloaded Adobe Reader X. I think I prefer Reader 9. I don't like being able to click in the document and have a flashing place mark (right terminology?) there. This is now happening in the Reader 9 version too, and I can copy text this way, but I don't want this. I didn't change any preferences. Can anyone help?

Like I said, I didn't change any of the preferences, so I don't know why this happened. I think it only happened after I opened Adobe Reader X. I see no options in preferences for turning on or off the ability to highlight text with your mouse pointer, and I thought you were not supposed to be able to do this in Adobe Reader 9.

Problem with Arabic scripts in Adobe writer

the company I work in bought the adobe writer professional version 8 for the policies& procedures which all in arabic !!!!
now we face a problem when convertingfrom pdf to wrod .. the script change to everything but arabic
in additon .. editing arabic is a delima ! sometimes it writes over an existing words !! and with tables ..its a disaster . it can't keep writing inside the cell
( this happens all when the pdf is converted from a word document ) .
final question is regarding security ?! .. can I impose a security on all the PDF on one server .. without having to do it for one pdf by another

Opening .PDF's in IE7 with Adobe Reader 9.0 & Adobe Writer 5.0

I am running a XP Pro environment on a HP D530 machine. I have installed on this PC Adobe Reader 9 and Adobe Writer 5.0. I have defaulted through the folder options all .PDF and adobe related files to open in 9.0 and done the normal 'open with' option aswell. Problem is on this internet ticker link i have/use, all the .PDF's posted on there always default to 5.0 and produce a error saying i need to upgrade to a higher version. If i leave 9.0 open then it will default to them without any issue. Is there any regkeys or files in 5.0 or 9.0 i can change so i can set all files to 9.0 Reader?
I have been told the ticker is only used to link to the files and does not have any code that dictates how the .PDF's open.
Any adive or ideas would be of great help! :-)

With Acrobat 7 you can only send out Browser Based Review, (which is replaced by shared reviews in version 9).
The reviewers will need to open the PDF inside a browser, and have access to the location of the PDF to be reviewed.
