"Change the Batteries"

got a message on my new Powershot saying "Change The Batteries" so I put 2 new ones in and took about 2 pictures, then tried to take another picture and I get that same message AGAIN. This isn't right. What could be causing this message. Is this a common thing with Powershots? It doesn't even have much usage on it at all, as it is only a month old. Would appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks.

Pat, what Powershot model do you have? What kind of batteries are you putting in? (alkaline? rechargable?)

My IMac has stopped seeing the keyboard. I have changed the batteries and the green light comes on saying it is looking to pair with the IMac but without success. I am left with the IMac switched on and I am unable to enter a password.

I have been using my IMac without a problem when I left it and went back to enter the password the IMac did not see the keyboard. What operating system does your iMac have? (please always post your operating system to prevent confustion).
If it's pre-Lion you will have to set Mail up manually:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger

The discs that come with your Mac are "machine specfic" and cannot be used on another Mac.

No trick. Be sure the batteries are inserted correctly and that the cover is tight.
Try different batteries.
Reset the SMC if it still does not work.

Not knowing which wireless keyboard you bought, it is difficult to be specific. but ...
it is quite normal for the keyboard's power light not to stay on - it is a way of conserving battery power.
Try this:
turn you keyboard off
on your iPad go to Settings > Bluetooth
if your keyboard is listed under Devices, then touch the little blue i to its right and choose Forget this Device
now reset your iPad: hold both the Home and Power buttons down for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, let go promptly when the Apple logo appears and wait another 30 seconds for your iPad to turn itself on
After your iPad is back on again go back to Settings > Bluetooth
now turn your keyboard back on and see if it appeard under Now Discoverable
if it doesn't read your keyboard guide to figure out how to put it into Discovery mode
touch the listing for your keyboard under Now Discoverable, it should now appear under Devices
touch the listing for you keyboard under Devices, and choose to pair with it.

I have Lenovo Thinkpad laptop and Lenovo optical USB mouse connected to docking station. Mouse wheel works in all applications except Firefox.
The solution I found: go to "Control Panel/Mouse/Wheel" (I have here some Lenovo application).
The first option "Wheel" on the tab has 2 choices: "Enable Universal Scrolling" (default) and "Use Microsoft Office 97 Scrolling Emulation Only". If I switch to 2nd option, then scrolling works in Firefox. Since Firefox is the only application that has a problem, I keep the 1st option, but add Firefox to "Exceptions" list. Now scrolling works fine.

Try cleaning the electrical contacts on the camera and the batteries using a soft microfiber cleaning cloth. If the same warning still displays, then the camera will need to be serviced. To start the repair process, you'll need to complete a Repair Request on our website.

"change the batteries" error message is popping up after taking 2 or 3 pictures with a new set of batteries. After surfing the Internet for solutions we found changing the date battery should solve the problem. But it does not work. We also tried formatting the SD card. Please help

The connection between the batteries and the camera may be dirty. Gently clean over the contacts on the battery compartment cover, inside the battery compartment and on the batteries. Make sure the batteries are fresh as well. If this does not help, the camera will be in need of repair.

I just had the same problem. And I found the solution, on Youtube.
The problem is that these ******** at apple designed the battery compartement, the distance between metal contacts too big.
That means the batteries plus or minus poles are not touching the corresponding contacts in the mouses battery compartement.
Most likely the battery doesn't get pushed up to touch the plus contacts.
I used a fingernail to push the battery up and tadaa, the green LED came on.
The guy in the Youtube video just put some folded aluminium foil under the minus poles for bridging the gap.

I am unable to open the back of my wirelss mouse to change the batteries which I've changed several times before. The black release button on the back does not seem to work. I've tried using a couple of small screwdrivers to pry it open but I don't want to break the plastic and therefore the mouse. Anyone have any other ideas or do I need to buy a new mouse?

You may have caused more damage with the screwdrivers. It can be tricky as it works the opposite way to what you may first imagine. Hold the mouse, bottom upwards, the black catch nearest to you. Then flick the black catch towards you with your nail. (Not away from you towards where a space is showing).
