Change the language of the recovery

Hello, Is there any way to change the MUI language of the recovery? Both HP and Windows. I bought a DV6-2120EG and recovery is in German. I want to change that to Hungarian. Thank you! Adrian

No way that I know of, recovery discs are language specific and no way to change it.

  • HT1918 how to change the email for my "password recovery" need help changing the recovery email not main.

Need help on switching my password recovery email because it is sending to my old email. Anyone know how to do this?

    Hi Krebbo,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what the nature of your issue is. If you are talking about changing the Apple ID that your iPhone currently uses for services like the iTunes Store, you may find the following article helpful:

  • I forgot my security question answers, but the email address they send help to is wrong.  How can I change the recovery email address?

I forgot the answers to my security questions.  When I go to the link for help remembering my security questions it sends the email to an email address that is not mine.  And I don't know how to make it send to one of the two correct email addresses I have entered.  Any suggestions?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • DB2 change the database recovery mode

    Hi Friends,
We are doing an upgrade, in the process will be necessary to change the DB recovery mode.
Database is DB2 9.5 and the platform is Unix (AIX). I wold like to clarify the process of change the recovery mode, I underestand that it is to switch off the logg retain, but I have found in some forums that in order to switch on the logg retain, when the upgrade finished, I have to have an full backup of this database.
I need to plan this activity and its effects.
Please do you know something about it, can you clarify me the process?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards
    Enrique Sánchez

    The process is pretty straightforward:
    1. Shutdown SAP and deactivate the database.
    2. Enable recovery mode by setting logarchmeth1 (as user db2<sid>)
db2 update db cfg for <SID> using logarchmeth1 disk:<archivepath> immediate
    3. Perform an offline backup of the database (as user db2<sid>)
db2 backup database <sid> to <backuplocation> compress without prompting
The backup time depends on the size of your system. Once the backup is complete, you can activate the database and bring up SAP.

  • HT4528 Is there any way to change the contact email?

Is there any way to change the contact email? I had deleted my contact email without even a thought about my Apple ID. Any suggestions?
    <Re-Titled By Host>

Without being able to login with the Apple ID credentials, it is not possible to change the recovery email address.  This is called security and prevents others from forcibly changing your Apple ID password and taking over the account.
Options are either remember the security answers or fix access issues with the recovery email account.

  • How do i change the email on my apple account

I have changed my email address and want to update my apple account.  It will not let me!  My recovery email address is currently the email address I would like to change the username/email to.
    Help!

When you say it will not let you, are you sigining into appleid.apple.com and clicking 'Edit' next to Primary Email?
Also, you will not be able to use an email address that is already associated with the same or another Apple ID.
If your recovery is what you want the primary to be, what you will have to do is:
    1. Create a new email address with any email provider such as gmail, hotmail, etc. (even if you don't aren't going to use it)
    2. Change the Recovery email address to the newly created email address.
    3. Change the Primary email address to what used to be the recovery.
    4. Change the Recovery to what the Primary email used to be.

  • Change SharePoint_Config Database to simple recovery mode. Risk.

    Hello,
we have SBS 2008 with Exchnage and OWA-Service.
The Logfile of SharePoint is very large (30 GB).
    But we don't use SharePoint.
I want to change the recovery mode of SharePoint_Config Database to simple.
But i don't know, what of Application/Services/Programms use SharePoint Database.
What are the risks of changing SharePoint_Config Database to Simple Mode?
What of the Sevices/Programms  use SharePoint Database ?
    Thank You

    Hi ,
As Dimitri pointed out, SharePoint DB is in SQL database, the change of it won't affect Exchange and Outlook Web Access.
If you use SharePoint in future, you may take a look at the following article about the effect to SharePoint database with simple recovery mode.

  • I set my passcode in arabic then I changed the language to English, when I wanted to open my ipad later there was no arabic letters to enter my arabic passcode..and I am not able to use my Ipad again please let me know what to do

I set my passcode in Arabic then I changed the language to English, when I wanted to open my ipad later there was no Arabic letters to enter my Arabic passcode..and I am not able to use my Ipad again please advice me what to do

    Hello Shaholeh87,
Do you see a Globe icon on left hand side of your Spacebar if yes try pressing that and see if you get an option of changing the keboard language (this will work if you have Multiple language set on your iPhone from Settings>General>Keyboard>International Keyboards and added a keyboard in Arabic Language before )
Or you can get your iPhone in Recovery Mode and Restore it to Factory settings but you will lose all your current Data that you have on your iPhone.
To Restore your iPhone by taking it in Recovery Mode you can follow the below steps :
Follow the process mentioned below step by step to get your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad working.
Make sure you have Latest Version of iTunes (11.1.3) Downloaded and Installed on your Computer, if not then you can download the latest version of iTunes from the Link below.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now once you have the Updated version of iTunes installed on your computer follow the below steps to get your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad in Recovery Mode and Then restore it to factory settings
Open iTunes Application on your computer and then start the process step by step
1>Disconnect your device from the computer (if connected). The process won’t work if you start with the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad connected to the computer. Leave the cable connected to the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad, as you will be reconnecting the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad to the Computer later in the process.
2>Power down your device. Turn off your device by holding down the Power button ( On Top right corner of iPod). When the power slider appears, slide it to the right. Wait for your device to comepletely shut down before continuing.
3>Press and hold the Home button (Home Button is located at bottom of your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad screen/display). With the Home button held connect the device to your computer with the USB cable. When reconnected, your device should turn on.
(If the low battery screen appears, charge your device for a few minutes and try the process again.)
4>Continue holding the Home button. After a few moments, you will see the "Connect to iTunes" screen on your device. This screen is a picture of an arrow pointing from a USB cable to the iTunes logo. When you see the screen you can release the Home button.
5>iTunes will display a message stating that a device in recovery mode has been connected. From there you can proceed to restore your iOS device. Once you see this message click on OK and then click on Restore
Once you click on Restore iTunes will download the Latest available version of iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad software (ipsw file) in your computer and after the download is completed the same will be restored in your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad. You will see the Download process and Restore process on top of your iTunes screen. Once the restore is completed your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad will automatically restart and you will see a message that iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad has been Restored and will connect after restart.
Now you will have to follow some steps on your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad to Customize your Device for First Use.
Hope this process will help you

  • I have changed default language in the program & have set Language & region in system preferences. My Word (Mac2011) keeps on changing the default language to US english every time I check. Please help!

I have changed default language in the program & have set Language & region in system preferences. My Word (Mac2011) keeps on changing the default language to US english every time I check. Please help!

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • How to change the language of XP in another country?

    Hi,
I bought my laptop in UK but now I am in another country. How I can change the settings so the computer will recognize the country I am right now and not UK? I think I have to change the locale?
I have the recovery cd, will it be helpful? Can anyone help me please?
    thanks

    Hi,
if you have a Windows XP on UK then you cannot change the whole language. You just can change the keyboard language, the timezone, the currency, etc. etc..
How to do this? Just go into Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options and then modify there the settings to fit to the country where you are.
But remember, the whole language of your system WOULD NOT CHANGE.

  • Reinstall windows 7 pro to change the system language

    Hello Everyone!
I recently bought a ThinkPad T400 online with preinstalled Windows 7 Professional.
The system language is German and I want to change it to english.
So far Ive seen, that it's only possible to do so by reinstalling windows 7 pro as an english version while reusing my product key, if I don't want to upgrade to ultimate.
I'm not so good with computers and I'm a bit scared to mess something up!
Can someone of you give me a nice step by step or some recommendations what I need to take care of?
Can I really just download windows 7 pro from the official windows store? And how do I make sure to really get it in english?
Thank you so much in advance!!
I really didn't think changing the language could be so much of a hassle.

Installing Windows 7 is easy. But before going that route, you may want to contact Lenovo and see if you can get the english system recovery discs.
If you have to reinstall windows there are good instructions here.As for downloading an ISO or purchasing an install disc, Microsofts position is that the ISO's are only available to people who purchase their OS online and then download it. All other uses are verboten. What you decide to do it is between you and your lawyer.

  • Change the windows language

    hi,
First, sorry for my english but i'm Belgian from french community...
I buy a thinkstation s20 in germany and i received the workstation with windows vista 32 bit in german.
Is it possible to change the os language (german to french)?
    Thanks,
    Daf74

    Hello everyone,
the change of language is available on Ultimate - that's how MS is positioning different versions of Windows.
You also do not get Multimedia Center support on some versions. That's a fact.
Also it is necessary to state that if you are not using Ultimate version you are not allowed to change language. That's what license says. Despite you can try tweking (as links above) or get set of Recovery DVDs with different language - it is not legal. Yes, from technical perspective it might work (also MS can put in place advanced Genuine check) it is not correct and legal.
Using diferrent language othe than you've bough is the same like downloading pirate copy from internet as us it - both are from MS perpective same crimes - illegal usage of their SW.

  • Can I change the software in the recovery partition from Vista to Win 7?

After doing a clean install of Windows 7 in a used Tecra A9 I just bought, I would like to  replace the factory installed Vista Business software within the recovery partition with Win 7 code so as to be able to boot  Win 7 in that partition in an emergency.  How can I do that, and are there any serious downsides to getting rid of the "factory installed stuff"?  Thanks in advance.

In the Creative Cloud Application you can change in Preferences the App language. Then you can download and install additional the other language.
With Photoshop you can now go to Preferences > User Interface and switch between all installed and available languages.

  • Change the viewable language on the 3500 Classic?

Hi, I just purchased an unlocked 3500 Classic from Singapore.
Nice phone, except it's in some Asian language!
Does anyone know how to change the language to English?
I looked through the board and couldn't find it.
Forgive me, I'm new to Nokia! Thanks!

Michael, my best guess is that the recovery partition comes one way or the other.
Best to call 866-413-0222 or 416-502-1403 and explain the situation. Probably they will send new recovery discs.
