If bought directly from an Apple Retail store or Apple Online store, and is still within the 14 day return period Apple Offers you can take it back and get a full refund which you can then use towards buying the other version.
If its already past the 14 day period then you won't be able to return it for a refund no.
If you did not buy it from an Apple Retail store or Apple Online Store you will have to consult with the store you bought it from about their return policies.

Changed Yahoo email password due to being hacked, I think. Tried changing of Ipad mini but reverts to old password when go to account settings again. Tried deleting and adding mail account anew, but same deal. How do I get password to permanently change.

Sign out of old ID and sign in with new.

Change ringtone on iPad Mini?

Skype is working well on my iPad Mini wifi + cellular, just as it does on my iPhone and iPad 1and 2.
Skype rings through and I get the badge alert on my iPM, but I'm not happy with either the volume or melody of the Skype ringtone, honestly myself, family and friends get a bit mixed up when we're together and one of us gets a call. Sounds goofy, but its an issue.
I'm looking for info on whether there is a current way, though I'm pretty certain there is not, of changing the Skype ringtone on my iPad. Or, whether there is any plan by Skype, to allow for custom/personalized ringtones on the iPad?
Any suggestions would be helpful.

You can adjust the volume of your sound notifitcations using your iPad's speaker or sound settings.
Thus, you can’t use personalized ringtones on Skype for iPad, you can only use the preloaded default Skype ringtone.

Screen sizing or changing bug in iPad mini

Since the update to iOS 7.03 my iPad mini has screen instability. In my reading app it will start to turn back pages without any input. In my bible app it starts turning the menu on and off. in Safari it zomes in and out at multiple web pages. Does anyone have a solution or suggestion other than waiting for the next iOS update. At this point my ipad is almost useless.

I have the same problem, and have for many mounth now, searched for an alternative til iOS Reminders which can sync. to Exchange, but we cannot find one. We use Tasks in Outlook very much.
We have several iPad's with the problem, and we can not solve the problem.
Apple will NOT listen to us, they just say we have to restore the system, but it does not solve the problem!!
Very frustating.
Now the Microsoft Surface 2 look, like a good alternative, and we will go in that direction. We cannot live with thi issue.
Apple is NOT for bussiness.

HT4061 Face time on iPad mini

Is anyone having problems with seeing the person on the other end. It either flashes in and out or tells me it's got a poor connection and video will resume when the connection improves. Is this a router problem? We've tested another iPad in the house and works fine with no connection problems in addition to connecting with my iPad and the image was fine. Tried it away from home and the images were in and out again.......

You probably have your iPad muted. Check to make sure it is unlocked with the toggle switch on top of the iPad. You can also check your general > use side switch to: > change to Mute and then make sure you turn the sound on. If you have switched it to Lock Rotation while it was muted it will stay muted.

I am a first time "Apple" IPad mini w/retina ?I want to download manual to print but I read it is over 100 pages long. What can I do ? I don't know anything much on how to use my mini. Thank you Barbara

Can't set time/time zone on my iPad mini

my time zone is searching and I am unable to set correct time on iPad mini. Any suggestions?

I had this exact problem one time and what finally fixed it for me was restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restoring a previous backup that I had. I did not backup, restore and then restore the backup. I was afraid that backing up the iPad that had a corrupt setting and the. Restoring that same backuo would leave me in the same position that I was in when I started. I backuo every couple of days so I always have a very recent backup to restore.
Having said that, there are some other things to try before you consider restoring the iPad. Close the Settinsg app and reset the iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, reset all settings.Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. No data will be lost. But all device settings will have to be entered again.
IF both of those things fail, the last thing that I would try before restoring is to sign out of your ID, reset the iPad, and then sign in again. Settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID>Sign Out. Reset the iPad as described above, the. Go back to the settings and sign in again.
If still no luck, you might want to think about restoring the iPad. I would try backing up, restoring to factory settings and restore the backup, But if you have a very recent backup, I wouldn't bother backing up again. I would restore the recent backup.

My IPad Mini Crashes Repeatedly

My IPad Mini at regular intervals crashes. This happens in all apps, i.e it's not specific to just one app like Safari.
Anyway, I can be using my iPad mini to play a game, change my settings or even listen to music when, starting at the top of the screen and descending towards the bottom, blackness obscures the screen. The IPad mini then does something very similar to shutting down, by which I mean the light fades from the screen altogether. A few seconds later, the IPad mini turns on again and the Apple symbol appears. Most of the time, the IPad mini turns on and gets to the lock screen then crashes AGAIN. This happens in a loop about 4 times before it settles down and stops crashing. I then may start listening to music or gaming before it crashes AGAIN
.My IPad mini is a 16GB with wi-if only (no 3G), is a couple of days old and hasn't been mislaid or mistreated in any way. I have also not used much of my storage up, with 10GB left out of the 16GB. I have however used up almost all of my 5GB ICloud storage with 400MB left.
Can I also say agin that these crashes occur regularly, and can happen at anytime, whatever I'm doing.

I have a brand new iPad Mini that my Aunt got me for Christmas. Well, I was playing a game
on there and all of a sudden my iPad Mini restarted itself. The Apple logo was on there.
I was like what's going on here. So, I restored it...... So, far I haven't had any problems but
I did talk to this girl yesterday at Verizon Wireless place and she told me that if it starts
acting up again take it to Apple Store in the mall and they'll replace it. I'm like I didn't
get it there ,but she said it doesn't matter because it's not your fault that it's doing that it's
Apple's fault.
Do you think that it's the IOS or the games causing it to crash and restart itself?
I went on Diganostic and Data on it and looked at the crash report. I've never seen
so many.
If you are having problems with your's you can take it to the Apple Store and see
if they'll replace it?

FaceTime and iMessages worked fine on my ipad mini but now they don't please help

Okay so I was on face time when suddenly for the first time my ipad mini froze so I held down the home and off button like anyone else would do. Then when it turned back on I went back onto face time and it asked me to enter my username and password which I found a bit weird so I did. It then said that the username or password I entered was incorrect so I did it again it said the same thing. So I went on the App Store downloaded an app and it asked me to enter my password I did and it worked fine. Went back to enter my username and password for FaceTime and it said it again so I changed my password tried it again it still said it was incorrect. Then I tried it on my iPod and it works fine my question is why is my FaceTime and iMessages suddenly not working but my App Store and everything else works fine I use Face time all the time and I really need it can anyone help me because I don't know what to do

My iPad mini doesn't charge sometimes, and if it charges it only can charge to 92% then stops.

At most time, my iPad mini doesn't charge at all. I have searched the problem on Internet, somebody says it is about the temperature, but the weather of the place I live ain't that cold. Once it can charge, it can only charge to 92% everytime. Someone to help me solve it? iOS 6.0.1!

Photo Album in iPad mini back up query

I had synced few iPhoto albums through iTunes in my Mac to my iPad mini. When I was cleaning up the hard disk in the Mac by mistake I deleted the iPhoto albums. Though they are still in the iPad mini as I have not synced my iPad mini with iTunes after the hard disk clean up of the Mac,hence when I sync next time the iPad mini with iTunes they would get deleted by default as these albums no longer exist in the Mac. Is there are way to salvage these albums which are existing in the iPad mini? I use iCloud but do not back up Photos there are they are large files and use up the iCloud space hence I back up all the photos to my mac. Now as I face this peculiar situation any one giving a suggestion to troubleshoot this issue will be appreciated.

Backing up with iCloud would not backup synced photos anyway. iCloud only works photos that you take with the iPad.
There are third party WiFi apps that will allow you to transfer the photos back to the Mac. You download the app to both devices and then you can send photos and videos to and from each device.

Why is it that my ipad mini doesnt charge up to 100% it stop at 91%?

I Recently bought my ipad mini & I noticed that it always stop charging at 91%, i had to unplug & plug it again to continue charging? Need any help on this please....

im having the same problem with you. I bought my ipad mini last month as soon as i open it my son use it a bit and then when its time to charge it wont charge to 100% stops at between 85-90%, i have to unplug then plug the adapter to charge it to full its very annoying, my friend bought one yesterday and guess what LOL same charging issues, my sister's friend bought 2 yesterday and guess what same charging issue. My friend bought the 12w charger and it works from 1-100% no issues. The question is why should we buy 12w charger when our charger is still under warranty apple please RECALL all these 5w CHARGER, you know that there is something wrong with your 5w charger but why ship it, it will cause you double now to recall everything. As you can see 70% of the time all IPAD MINI charger dont have enough JUICe to charge from 1-100% without recycling the AC power. If you just bought your ipad mini say like 1 day ago and experience this issue go and take back your ipad mini and better yet tell them replace the adaptor with a 12w one.

This is the second time my ipad mini 2 retina goes to repair.
First was the buttons and now sometimes when power the ipad on the touch screen doesn't work.
My device has my name so at each time it goes to repair lasts about 15-20 days.
I'm sure my next device won't be apple....
How can i make a compliant??
