Change user configuration file location

Hi All
I was wondering if it's possible to change the location of
the User Configuration Files that live in:
C:\Documents and Settings\*USER*\Application
Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
The problem I have is that my work computer network policy
limits my Windows Profile to 50Mb (crazy I know) and I would like
to move the Dreamweaver (and Flash) config files out of my profile
to a different location. This would allow me to install extensions
etc without increasing my profile above the 50Mb limit.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Barry.

I hae not seen a way to do this, unforunately. You can
suggest it to the

How do I change the location of the tmp files? I do not want them to write to the C:\ Drive where the OS is installed. I would like to use my D or E drive which has a lot more room.
    Thanks,

  • Configurations file location | visual administrator parameter | path ??

    Hi folks ,
I have installed the GDS console . As suggested in the installation guide " GDS 1.0 - Installation Guide.pdf " I have copied the GDS folder in the path E:/usr/sap which is where my WAS is installed  (This GDS folder comes when you unzip the file GDS1005_1.zip in the software for MDM 5.5 SP05 ase release . It contains the subfolders namely " configurations" , "IncomingMessages" , "MessagesToDataPool"). The WAS and the GDS console are at the same machine .
Now there is a step in the configuration of visual administrator parameters where I need to configure the parameter "Configurations file location" . I gve the path as "E:\usr\sap" as suggested in the example for the configuration in the installation guide (my GDS folder is inside "sap" folder ) but when I try to access the page for GDS through http://<host-name><port>/gds it says resource not found .
What I am not able to figure out is what would be the appropriate path for this parameter so that I am able to access the page ?
Could you please help me out !!!
    Regards
    Deepak Singh

    Hi ,
Actually I did all that you suggested but the problem was , for J2EE to accept my changes I was required to restart the engine from the console which I was not doing . This morning I did that and could move on to the next set of problems . But thanks for the suggestions . I do appreciate that .
    - If you look at the " GDS 1.0 - Installation Guide.pdf " then under " Editing the application properties " there is a table which has five columns , Property/Default/<b>1Sync</b>/Description/Example . What exactly does the " 1Sync " column convey ??? . Guess it is the External data pool ??
    - I am doing this more as a personel training excercise so I have some  infrastructural constraints .I have a WAS 6.40 SP15 installed on my machine . I have MDM 5.5 SP05 with the GDS component .  I don't have a XI/R3 system yet in the landscape . I don't have any external data pool . I don't have an AS2 adapter either . So now I am getting a couple of configuration errors which are for some parameters in visual administrator .
    The parameters are
    > DestinationDataPoolGln
    > DestinationDataPoolName
    > 'GDS.PrincipalHeader'
    > ProviderGln
    > ProviderName
    > ProviderTimeZone
    > 'GDS.SchemaLocation'
    > 'LinksItemKeyCombination'
    > 'SystemExternalValidations'
Is there a way I can configure these values without adding anything further systems in my landscape ??
    Would appreciate your inputs !
    Regards
    Deepak Singh

  • I'd like to change the dfault file location, C:My pictures, to another file location, eg E or G. What can I do to change it?

    See above question.

    Hi trshaner,
Thanks again for your complete reaction. I’ve looked at the video and the help-information. This made me decide to leave the file My pictures where it is (C) and move some of the other folders/files to the E-drive. Thanks for your help.

  • The 2 year old fix for changing temp files is no longer valid, I need to change the temp file location in the latest firefox.

In 3.6.3 I'm unable to find the parent cache to change where the temp files are located. I have an SSD drive, and I need to get the temp file off, and onto my platter drive. I have read the previous fix of about:config and changing the parent cache location, but it no longer seems to be there. I'm unable to locate anything relating to my SSD drive location in about:config.
    == User Agent ==
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.70 Safari/533.4

Unfortunately, it appears that what I wrote about not being able to find the location IN about:config of the cache to change it from my C: drive to a different location, was mildly misunderstood that I didn't know how to get into about:config.
The location of browser.cache.disk.parent_directory does not currently exist in 3.6.3. I'm assuming it's under a different location. Also using the simple string of "cache" lists several options, but none of them appear to be where firefox is currently dumping the temp files onto my C:
I merely need to know how to switch the temp file location from 1 drive, to another. Not downloads, the temp file.

  • AIR Flash Player configuration file location

What is the name and location of the AIR Flash Player configuration file? I'm assuming the name should be mm.cfg like it is for the flash palyer on the desktop, where do I put this file when I compile my AIR app?

The "per user" config file, mm.cfg, is outlined here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-7fc9.html
If you want to modify the system level mms.cfg, that'll be in your C:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash folder

  • Changing default open file location

    Hi all,
In Outlook 2010, is there anyway to change the default folder that is opened by explorer when you want to open any pst files?
I have tried the registry changes listed in other forums but this only changes the default save location. I have managed to change the default open location for Word, Excel etc but not Outlook.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi,
Do you mean you want to change the default location when you click File > Open > Open Outlook Data File?
We can achieve this goal by modifying the registry, I managed to do this in my environment. Please follow the steps below:
Note: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. For added protection,
back up the registry before you modify it.
    Locate the registry path:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook
    Add the ForcePSTPath registry value:
    Value name: ForcePSTPath
    Value type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value: path to your storage folder
Restart your Outlook to check the result.

  • Lion - Changing Custom Website File Location - Potential Lion Bug

I had an interesting problem while setting up and transferring my custom website from a Windows 2003 server to my new Mac Mini 2011 Lion server.  I was able to get the site transferred and working correctly.  Took a bit of manipulating /etc/apache2...* files but good to go.  Now for the interesting part.
I decided to RAID 1 my two intertnal drives so I used SuperDuper (not affiliated with them ... use it if you want) and cloned my boot partition to a MyBook drive I had laying around, rebooted, Raided and cloned back.  All good there.  For some reason I had the bright idea to move my custom web site files to the MyBook.  Did that and all good.
I later came to my senses and tried to move the custom site files back to the RAID 1 partition.  Could not do it.  Neither through the Server.app interface or via manual entry of /etc/apache2...* files.  The solution appears to be due to a potential bug in Lion and Lion Server.app.  I found that under directory /etc/apache2/extra the file httpd-vhosts.conf was not being updated by Server.app.  Once I changed the file location there all is well.
Hope this helps any of you with the same problem.

    Hello, James here.
The reason why you can't find the "System Sounds" folder is because Apple have hidden it in a slightly different location in OS X Lion 10.7.x
To get to the directory with the "Volume Mount" file you need to go to...
Macintosh HD > System > Library > Components > CoreAudio (right-click and show package contents) > Contents > SharedSupport > System Sounds > system
    Hope this helped!

  • Sapgui 720 Path of Local configuration files location

Does anyone know how to set the "Path Local Configuration Files" during the installation of the sapgui? Either variable name of registry setting?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

Please have a look at notes 1409494 and 1426178.
The Path Local Configuration Files (except saplogon.ini and sapshortcut.ini) cannot be changed, because they are used by other applications than the SAP GUI, too.

    Hi,
I have a problem in SBO where the help file location for when I press F1 in SBO is using the wrong server name and I need to update it. I can see this via Top Menu > Help > Help Settings. Now I can't see where I change this.
    Thanks in advance.

I suggest to resintall SAP B1 in your server, and do not forget to install help file. After that, repeat the step to activate the help file in the help settings.

  • Configuration Files Location in Weblogic 10.3

    Hi,
May I know where should i keep my application specific configuration files like properties files, xml files in Weblogic 10.3,so that the weblogic can pick it up?.In Weblogic 8.1,we used to keep the files under <BEA_DOMAIN_HOME>.Thanks.

That really depends a lot on your application. I'm assuming you're specifically talking about application-specific configuration files, and not WebLogic-specific configuration files. Typically, application configuration files are packaged in the deployable WAR or EAR file, but it's also possible to put configuration files (or whatever) on the classpath, outside of the deployable unit. Once you decide where to store those files, you would set the "Classpath" field in the admin console, under the "Server" and "Server Start" tab (make sure to include "$CLASSPATH" in that value to include the resources that WebLogic itself needs).

  • Configuration file locations with the FDK

Is there a way to determine the directory a DLL created from the FDK is loaded from?
I need to persist some data assocaited with my DLL and figured putting a file in the same directory would be the most logical place to put it. It also  guarantees the directory will exist and I won't have to create some random place to put my configuration file.
    Thanks,
    - m

    Hi Michael,
Assuming Windows, I don't know of an easy way to find this out. I'm curious, though, are you unable to control where somebody installs it? I'm guessing you are using the maker.ini method of registration, otherwise you would know the folder (init\plugins, something like that). Since it has to be registered in maker.ini and you at least know the DLL name, you could search the two maker.ini files for it and find out its path there, I suppose. There could be some overhead involved, though, especially if it is a relative path.
There are some who would disagree (not necessarily me) that the installation directory is the best place to store config files. I've heard the opinion that the Documents and Settings (ie, the "home" directory area) is a better place. You would have to read system variables to find out that path, which isn't too difficult.
    Russ
[edit] I should have said "environment" variables, not system variables. Big difference there, in a FrameMaker forum.

  • Version Cue CS3 Change Default Local File Location

    Hi All
I've done a bit of searching around and can't find an answer to this.
We have a bit of a Hybrid network which involves roaming profiles / TS profiles and all manner of stuff I have not yet found.  The upshot of this is that profile size affects all manner of things.
Vesion Cue CS3 places local files into your user folders (and thereore your profile) by default.
Is there a way to change the default location of these files?  I dont need them on a network share, the local disc is fine but just not in 'my documents'.
I am aware I can do it on a project by project basis, but as I deal in hundreds of projects this is impractical.  That is to say I need to have the local files end up in the right place when I first sync.
Thanks Very Much for your help
    Colin

    I'm sorry Curt,
    I don't understand your point.
CS3 does, in fact have Version Cue, and does put files in certain places.  So I don't follow what you are getting at.

  • IPhoto won't let me change library/copy files location to exHD.

I have recently purchased an external hard drive to transfer my photos to since my internal hard drive is full. I followed the directions to copy the photos and change the library location. However, when I get about 10 minutes into the copying process an error message pops up telling me the command cannot be completed since the Finder cannot read or write some of the files (error code -36). I went into the info panel on every iPhoto folder and file in the Pictures file and changed them to read and write. It still won't allow the files to be copied to the external hard drive. What am I missing? I really need to clear up space. I only have 4 GB left on my internal drive.

The error code -36 is a I/O error. You can try the following:download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administrator login name in the owner section and Staff in the group section. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. Then try copying again.
If that doesn't work you could use iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library and have the rebuild library be created on the external HD. This will preserve keywords, titles, comments, albums and events. However, books, slideshows, calendars, etc. will not be preserved.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
