Change user name to iMessage from computer???

Hello,
I am new to the Mac world, so please be kind. I was updating all of my information (apple username, password, security question, etc.), when I received an iMessage on my computer. When I hit the magical "submit" button, it signed me off, and now I cannot get back on. I clicked on the "?" key, which took me to a not so help page. The page addressed that this is a problem, but the answer isn't so clear and reads, "
Update this if the name you use to log in has changed since you set up an account.
You can change your user name on the website for the service provider of your account."
Having Verizon as a service provider, I went to their website. However, when I explored, the website didn't have what I was looking for.
If someone knows how to update my username and password, I would greatly appreciate it.

Open the Contacts app. List All Contacts and find the email address used by iMessage. Select the email address and tap the Edit button in the top right corner. Add your name to the top two lines. Tap Done.

My kid was the first in my family to get an iPod. When we created her account, since she is young, I put it on my laptop under my user name. Months later, I decided to get an iPod and when I went to set up an account, it wouldn't let me. My neice told me that I had to set up a new user name account on my computer for the new itunes account. I did this, but now I find that this is TOTALLY inconvenient. My computing is done under one user name and, yet, to sync my iPod I have to log out of all of that and go into the other user name. I HATE this -- had I realised this would be such a pain in the neck, I never would have set up my daughter's account under my user name. Is there a way that I can move my itunes account to MY user name and move my daughter's to the other? Can I have them both under one user name? Thanks for any help/advice

Each windows user has an itunes database file that has ratings, playcounts, etc.
It is named iTunesLibrary.itl
So in addition to putting the music in a shared location as Neil suggests, you need to swap your ITL files from each account.
Here is a good background article on that, you are using method 1. My advice is to stay far away from method 3, it's too easy to forget which ITL file itunes last used.
You could also switch to method 2. I used that for several years until my husband started using iTunes and I did not want his play counts in my library.

Don't worry about getting a new BlackBerry ID. If you registered it on your new device, everything associated with it will go to your new device. Once you've registered it with your new device, BlackBerry Protect will see that you have two phones with the same BlackBerry ID and will ask which one(s) you want Protect to access.
As for email accounts on your new phone, from your new device's browser type in www.blackberry.com/integrate and enter the user/pass combo you've been using on your old phone and now your new one. Once you set up your email account(s) on your new device using that link, all emails will come to your new phone and your old one will be nothing more than a memory.

Why can't I delete a user name and password from saved passwords in iOS 7? I found them and they are not anything that I am familiar with? They are from a t-com.de. I have been to Germany in the last month. Not sure if there is any association. Any thoughts?

You found them ... where? Are they in Safari somewhere?
If so, do Settings > Safari > Clear History and Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data
If that doesn't clear them (and they are from Safari), try Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data and clear that area.

I am trying to change the name in my "from" box

I am trying to change the name in my "from" box. My name has changed and although I have changed the name on the account, I can't figure out how to make the default name in my "from" box change from my previous name to my new name.

You may need to know that (in Snow Leopard at least) you specify multiple possible "From" email addresses as a list separated by commas. Just type them into that little Email Address box*: they'll move over to make room. Then, on your new messages from that point on, a pop-up menu will appear for the From field. Neat, eh?

We changed user name on Ipad and Iphone and Icloud woks fine, howerver we also have a Iac that had the old email address as the user name and now it will not sync with the Imac. There is no application. Go to System Preferences>iCloud, click 'Sign out'.

Our portal application requires the functionality to change user login name which
maps to the user_name in USER_SECURITY table.
The com.bea.p13n.usermgmt.UserManager does not offer a API to change user name, so
my code changed it directly in the USER_SECURITY table by JDBC.
My concern is : other tables in portal db may also has the user_name which are not
be changed correspondingly, this may cause problem which I don't see now (e.g. Entity
table has user_name also).
Question is: is there a safe way to change user_name consistantly in portal database?
like a API or do I have to do it myself. If it is the second case, what other tables
I need to change.

Changing Users Name - different from the other post below

I want to change my home name under the places folder. It's not my account name that can be viewed in the preferences under account. When I got this new MacBook Pro and went thru the set up, somehow I must have agreed to use the name that is next to the house icon under places in the finder sidebar. I really don't know where they got it from and when I search the whole computer all that comes up is the user folder. I tried to rename the name but it won't let me. There has to be somewhere I can change that name short of clearing out the contents of the MacBook and loading a new system from the supplied start up disk.

Just to amplify -
An account actually has two names, the "long name" (now called "Full Name" in System Preferences), and the ""short name" (normally a single word in lower case, called "Account Name" in System Preferences when you first set up an account).
When you set up a user account and enter your "Full Name," the system will suggest an Account Name (the "short name"), and you have *just this one chance* to change it:
Once set, the short name becomes the name of your home folder (the house icon in Finder) and is not easily changed. You can't just change the home folder name, because the short name is also an intrinsic part of your user account. However if you very much want to change the short name, there are a few ways to do this. Apple's method is here:

Sorry if this posted twice I am NEW. I thought I could just go back to what I typed and add to it. Mom had a computer it died they are putting in the old drive on the new computer as a slave. What are the steps I need to do to transfer ALL the bookmarks, user names and passwords onto the new computer. We will have 3 desktops do we have to do the same steps on each desktop? Can I change user name after running essbase from command prompt??

I run essbase from command prompt and during this activity I was asked to give user name and password, but by mistake I put wrong user name and now wolud like to chanege it.

It worked,
now I was able to connect to easbase from planning, I ve created sample aplication and initialize it but cannot connect to Eas to download data for sample application. After I run the validation there is now only one error displayed:
Essbase / Essbase Administration Services
FAILED Web App Availability of web application context (POL-MPIKULSKI 10080, eas)
Error: com.hyperion.cis.utils.BadResponseCodeException: Bad response code: 404
Recommended Action: Check application is started
I tried to start the eas from start>programs>epm system>essbase>administration services>start administration services(java embeded) but it didnt help.
can I start in in different way??
