Change Validity Period of Cost centers ??

Hi,
Is it possible to change the validity period of cost centers ??, like in my case we are having validity period until 12/31/9999, so because of this even when some one blocks the cost centers they still appear in the F4 list of cost centers!!! used at many places to search for cost centers.
My requirement is to restrict the blocked cost centers from appearing in the search help list for cost centers.

Hello Rahul,
Validity of cost centers can be changed in transaction OKEON : Standard hierarchy of cost center change.
Select your cost center, In basic data tab you can change the validity dates.
This should help.

Please note this can be done.
Go to Edit Cost Center
Goto Edit, Analysis Period.
Create a new validity period say today until 3112999
Change the data you want and save.
When you go into the CC again it will show two validity periods.

Change validity period of cost center from 2009 to 2008

Hi All
I have created a cost center with validity period 01.04.2009 to 31.12.9999 which was supposed to be created from 01.04.2008 to 31.12.9999. when trying to change the validity period in Tcode KS02 I am getting the following message -
"New analysis period must not exceed maximum period limit". In TCode - OKEON the validity period button for that particular cost center is deactive.
In TCode KS13 when I generate report for that cost center with Parameters - Valid from 01.04.2008 to 31.12.999 I can see that the cost center is valid from 01.04.2008 to 31.12.9999.
In TCode KS03 Display Cost Center the cost center is valid from 2009 which has to be valid from 2008. Please advise on how to change the validity period from 2009 to 2008.

Changing Validity Period of Profit Centers.

Hi Gurus,
First, I created a profit center with validity period 01/01/2008 to 12/31/9999. Later, I tried to truncate and activate the profit center with validity period 01/01/2008 to 12/31/2010. However, I get the following error
"A profit center scenario is active in new General Ledger Accounting
Message no. FAGL_LEDGER_CUST155"
What could be the problem? Any help is highly appreciated.

pls go to t.code ka02 and select that particular cost element and go to menu bar and select edit -analysis period and select other analysis period there we can change

How to extend the validity period of Cost estimate

Hi Gurus,
The validity period of Standard Cost estimate is up to the end of fiscal year. how can we get the same Cost estimate from the begining of new fiscal year.
for example let Materila X, which has 550 as a Cost estimate.the validity period of this cost estimate is up to 31/03/2009. now i want same cost estimate for Material X, from 01/04/2009 on wards.
is it possible to get the same cost estimate from the 01/04/2009 or Do I need to run CK11N, CK24?
can anybody help me.

hi,
If you want to get the same cost estimate for future use. You have to create a new cost estimate using the Dates as below
Costing date from :01/04/2009
Costing date to :Any date you desire (preferably end of 2009 financial year)
Qty structure date: As of your previous cost estimate for the material X
Valuation date :As of your previous cost estimate for the material X
Using this procedure you will have the old costs ie 550 in the cost estimate but will extend the same to as long as you desire.

Changing approver for home cost centers from manager to cost center owner

Hello,
Our CfTE system is functioning as follows: "If traveler belongs to home cost center then the expenses are not sent to cost center owner, instead they are sent to travelers manager".
I guess this is setup to prevent fraud and the ability to authorize your own expenses.
Anyway, is it possible to change this to always the cost center owner approving the expenses, regardless of home cost center or not?

No, this is not defined in the Business Configuration. The admin-user needs to have the WoC 'Application and Usermnagement' and there go to view 'Approval Processes', here you can copy the exitiong approval process defintion and create a new one. The new one needs to be set to active then. For detailed docuemntation and how-to change the approval process defintion, please check the help center about 'Approval' in your system.

Validility period of cost centre

can anybody tell me how can i change the validity period of cost centre and cost element ???

cost centre and cost element validity can be changed In KS02 AND KA02 we can click on Edit Tab - analysis period - other analysis period at the bottom.
or for the cost centre we can also change in - spro - controlling- cost centre accounting- master data- cost centres- define standard hierarchy- u will find the cost centre basic screen at the bottom
Beside the analysis time frame u will find small icon set analysis time frame where we can change.

Sending cost centers from one system to other system( different landscape)

Hi SAP gurus,
Can some one please let me know how to send the cost centers created in one system to other ssytem,
my requirement is sending cost centers from one sytem to other system:
1. when a new cost center created
2. when any changes happend to existing Cost centers.
The two system are in different landscapes.
please let me know what are configs we need to do for working this functionality.

Cost Center validity period change & Business area assignment to cost cente

We are facing with error KS134 - Transaction data already exists for the period.
We tried to create new cost center with period split. But I am getting error KS133 - Deletion is not possible (dependent records exist in table ).
Hence even creation of the new cost center is not possible. We alrady have Validity Period from 1.04.2005 to 31.12.9999.
Is there any alternative solution ?

Hi Sumeet,
The fields in Cost Center Master Data are "Time-Dependent" and you can see the Time-Dependency of each field in OKEG transaction code where you can find "Business Area" to be "Fiscal-Year" based.
So, if at all you need to change the Business Area, it would be possible in next financial year only...
And also, because, your Cost Center is defined from 01.04.2005 to 31.12.999, there is no way that you can change the validity period so as to create / extend in the same period-lap.

Valid period date of Cost Element

hi,
i have problem in cost element.actually my fiscal year is Jan.1.2011 to Dec31.2011.i create some cost element in 01012011 to31122011 (valid period )this period is system allow to enter the transaction.but i create some cost elements in 01.09.2011 to 31.12.2011(valid period) this period is not allowed.system showing error message.ie cost element valid period extented.
finally my question is How to Change the Cost Element Valid period from 01.09.2011 to 01.01.2011.?can you help me this problem.

It will allow! I just tried it. Make sure you have the validity from to (in the initial screen of KA01) as I stated below - 01/01/2011 to 31/08/2011. Also, check in table CSKB what are the validity periods for your cost element(s).

Change employee End date validity Period

Hi all,
User is entered Validity Period wrongly.
Ex:- Entered as 08.01.2010 Instead of leaving dates as 31.12.9999

I executed the report but it says ,"The deletion could not be carried out, plan records still exict on cost center for activity type." I have deleted every thing from kp26 for that particular combination of activity type and Cost center.
Any ideas as to what is happening!!

Delete OR Change Validity of COST ELEMENT

     I want to delete the wrongly created COST ELEMENT but after Excution of same through Tcode KA04,again it is apearing and

Dear ,
1.Go to Transaction Code KS02 - change cost center and in the next screen go to Menu bar > Edit > Analysis Period.This will pop up another window - in this you can change the analyis period and save it.
2.Or Use the tcode OKEON from the hierrachy choose the cost center in the basic data tab u will see one button named Validity period.Change the validity there.
3.You can do it using 'KSH2' transaction.Open the hirarchy and select your cost center. now select the business area and new hirarchy node where you want to move it. and click on 'INSERT AT LOWER LEVEL' to move the cost center from one business area to another.
