Change virtual size of viewing area

Hi,
I am looking for away to change the virtual size of the rendered area inside firefox, i.e. I want to tell the web page I am looking at that my scree is a different size than it actually is, without changing the resolution (font and image sizes should remain the same). I want the following behaviour: if I pick a larger size than my actual screen size I want scroll bars on the sides that allows me to pan around on the page.
Is there a way to configure firefox to do this? Perhaps using a plugin? I have been searching but haven't found anything.
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
this is called '''Responsive Design View'' and has been implemented a short while ago (thus, I'm not sure if it's in the final Firefox).
If the following steps don't apply to you, you may try out a [http://nightly.mozilla.org Firefox Nightly Build]:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Web Developer'' > ''Responsive Design View''.
#You should now see a panel that allows you to select certain screen sizes.

  • Is there any options/addons for selecting/changing image size when viewing images?

When clicking to open images when on web pages there is no option to select size.
I'm looking at some pages that have images (mostly jpg) I like to compare and that is very hard when all images open in a size that normally fill most of the browser window.
So I wonder if there is some hidden options or addons for selecting image size when opening images for viewing?
I have tried Image resizer/scaler, image zoom and show picture with mix results. Image resizer/scaler and image zoom allow resizing of images, but when opening images on same tab as web page the white image "frame" that is visible when reducing image size is left in original size. This make viewing and opening other pages a hazard.
    I'm grateful for any help...cheers :-)

hehe no offense, but I'm not following the version rushing from Mozilla. I'm using many customizations and addons and it is a nightmare to change to a new version and practically impossible to use last version. Also the FIrefox history have shown that earlier versions have both been more stable and had better implementation of features.
Spending hours customizing and finding out that addons dont work with new version every time Firefox come with a new version , no thanks. For that to happen Firefox have to be more compatible across versions and more friendly toward customization in updates and new versions. I have used Firefox for at least 8-9 years with practically no security problems and one thing I have learned is: dont update or install next version if the version I have is working well.
Maybe I should have mentioned this in this question, that Im using v26 and that my FIrefox is heavily modified with addons and customizations.
    '''Back to the subject'''
Anyway I dont think any of my customizations or addons should create a white frame behind images, but I'm asking to find out if you guys also get this white frame when resizing pictures to a smaller size after clicking images for viewing.

  • I used to be able to click on View to change type size. View is gone from Firefox4. How can I get it back?

When I downloaded the latest version of Firefox, I was told that it was not compatible with my Yahoo toolbar. I downloaded Firefox4 anyway. As a result I lost View on the toolbar, which allowed me to enlarge the type size of anything I saw on the screen. I very much appreciated that feature and would like to have it back. Is it hiding somewhere? How can I restore it--or find an equivalent function?

The Menu bar is hidden when the Firefox button is showing. Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, and then hit '''V''' to open the View menu.

  • Change display size of plot area

I have a VI that is reading signals from 16 different channels. The signals recorded from each of the 16 channels are displayed on 16 different graphs. I want to be able to see all 16 channels at the same time, in case anything interesting happens on any one of them, so each graph is fairly small.(See the attached screenshot.)
When something interesting does happen, I want to be able easily resize the entire plot area to cover most of the screen--perhaps with the click of a mouse. I would then like to be able to put it back to normal size--perhaps also with a single click of the mouse, or something equivalently as easy.
Simply zooming in on the "interesting region" will not do.
Is there a way to easily resize plot areas--b
y pushing a single button on the keyboard or mouse?

I would do it like this: Have a main loop that updates the graphs. Have a second loop that has an event structure that looks for button presses. If the user clicks on a graph, the second loop launches a second VI. This VI has its properties set to show front panel when called (File -> VI Properties... -> Windows Appearance -> Customize...) and Close afterwards if originally closed. It front panel basically just your graph and a waveform graph reference (which I hide). It has a loop and an event structure that keeps updating until the graph is clicked. When the graph is clicked, the VI closes. Your original VI needs to keep updating during this and it updates the big graph through a control reference. I have attached an examp

  • Change the size and viewing ratio

    Hello all
I am trying to have a small two minute or three minute movie play on my web site, however the web software I use wont let me upload a movie any larger than 10 m. And you guessed it the original is 38m, so there for I would need to compress the movie quite a lot, that I can do.
However the ratio gets changed after compressing it ,and it then cuts the the picture down and I end up losing the sides and the top. Is there a way I can compress the movie without losing the correct ratio of the movie.

Unfortunatly it does, if I wish not to exceed my upload limit on the web design software that I am using. I need to compress the file but not lose the viewing ratio. I can share the file using quicktime and mail that does a great job of compressing the file to keep it under the 10m upload limit, but I lose the ratio it seems to either cut all of the edges off the the movie which doesent really help. Any tips on how to slove this

You can use "Ctrl +" and "Ctrl -" to zoom pages quickly and "Ctr 0" (zero) to reset the page zoom.

There are also page zoom buttons in the toolbar palette in the Customize window that you can drag on a toolbar.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

  • I need to change the size of the view for easier reading.  Is there a way to make the page view larger without affecting the form?

Hi Guys, good product beginning however it's not as good as many of the other Adobe product's workspaces.  I cannot change the size of the view during form design work, so it's a visual strain to work in Forms Central.  Is there a way to modify the view (not affecting the width, size or font when presented on website or on paper)?

In Photoshop CC 2014 (Windows only) it is possible to use a setting of 200% to scale the UI. On some monitors it improves readability and on others it cuts part of the application screen. To give it a try go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> Experimental Features
Put a check-mark in the box and click OK
Then close PS and re-start for the change to take effect.

How do I change the size of the tools and the text for the menus in Photoshop?  I need a magnifying glass in order to make out what they are.

Okay, I've figured it out, so I'm going to answer my own question in hopes that it may help anyone else that would like to actually be able to see what they're doing when using Photoshop CC 2014 on a high resolution screen.
    1.  Open Photoshop.
    2.  Select Preferences from the Edit Menu, then select General.
    3.  Change the HUD Color Picker to Hue Strip (Medium).
    4.  Select Interface from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    5.  Change the UI Font Size to Large in the Text area of the Preferences dialog box.
    6.  Select Experimental Features from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    7.  Select Scale UI 200% for high-density displays (Windows only).
    8.  Click on OK, then Exit/Quit Photoshop.
    9.  Open Photoshop and everything should be readable.

Files that used to be visible are now hidden in Mavericks 10.9.1. How can I change the setting to view the same files as before? I do not need the hidden files that are typically invisible.
I am having trouble locating such files as PDF's INDD, AI etc. When I view all hidden files and try to open it in the program..it looks like it is really not on the drive. Has anyone come across a solution?

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

how do i change font sizes and colors in ical in OS Lion. Since upgrading,  all fonts are grey, instead of black,  and too small.   And how do I changed the color of the scroll bars, which also are grey and almost invisible?  And if you can asnwer this, can you tell me how to get back the email format I had before the upgrade?  I no longer have column headings and I'd like them.  Thank you.

Do you know about changing the font colors for ical, and the color of the scroll bars?
No, I don't. I don't use that program; I fiddled with it just now, and could not find a way to do that.
Perhaps someone else will have an idea.

    Hi ewhuntley,
It sounds like you may be running Acrobat 11.0.07, is that correct? If so, please choose Edit > Preferences > General. In the entry Scale for Screen Resolution, choose 100%. Save your changes, and restart Acrobat. Did that do the trick?

  • Changing viewing area

How do you "shrink" the width of the inspector window?  The arrow that appears will only widen the inspector area.  I would like to adjust the width of inspector therefore widening the viewing area.

and now I can't get it back to the narrower size
Does it keep the larger size, even after quitting and relaunching Aperture?
Then your Aperture Preferences file may be corrupted.
I'd suggest to remove the Preferences file
         ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist
from your User Library to the Desktop.
Quit Aperture and log off and on again before removing this file.
Then try, if now your Inspector panel has the correct size, when you relaunch Aperture.
If it does not fix the problem put the preferences back. For after removing the preferences, you will have toreset all settings from the "Preferences" panel.
Your user ibrary is hidden in MaxOS X 10.7 or later.
To unhide it, use the Finder's "Go" menu.
Click somewhere on your empty Desktop to bring the Finder forward, then click "Go" in the Finder's main menu bar.
Then hold down the options key ⌥ until "library" appears in the drop down menu. Click "Library" to open.

The Firefox [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Page+Zoom Page Zoom] feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox, as with some other browsers.
Try the Default FullZoom Level extension: <br />
