Change welcome page to lower case w in welcome

I just transferred my website (godaddy) from a windows server to a linux server. Now my pages won't work. I was told that linux looks for small letters on the home page. When I tried to change the name of the home page in IWeb '09, i can change it to a small case but when I click out of edit, it automatically renames it to capital Welcome. I went to publish to a folder and manually renamed the file there and uploaded it. The problem is that the index file keeps calling out the capital W. How do I change this?

With iWeb '09 you can publish directly to the server with the built-in FTP feature.

You have not said where you are copying this from but it sounds like what you have is text that is styled by CSS on a web page or ATSUI (Apple's typographic type engine) to appear ALL CAPS.
The actual text is actually U&lc or lowercase.
You can restyle it using:
Menu > Format > Font > Capitalization > All Caps

How can I change a column to lower case?

I selected an entire column and discovered that it's already set at Format > Font > Capitalization > None
If I change "None" to "All Caps," it capitalizes everything. But when I change it back to "None," letters that were originally capitalized remain capitalized. How can I change EVERY letter in a column to lower case?

Format > Font > Capitalization changes how the text is displayed. But it doesn't change the actual text.
To change all letters to lower case you can use the LOWER() function in cells that refer to the original text. Then select the cells with the formula displaying the "recapitalized" text, command-c to copy, and Edit > Paste Formula Results to remove the formulas.

GRC CUP - How to change SNC Name to lower case during user creation.

Hi All,
We are using GRC 5.3. CUP automatically creates user in R3 but SNC p:username'@'DOMAIN.COM is in upper case.
1. During automated user creation.
2. How change default DOMAIN.COM to lower case "domain.com"
Currently we have to manually change is via SU01 after user has been created.

Create an algorithm for a program that continually reads (loops) a single character from the user and displays the ordinal (ASCII) value of the character. The program should then change the case of the character, so if it is an 'a' change to an 'A' and vise-versa and then display the new ordinal value. The program should quit when the user enters the '#' character. The program should display an error message if an invalid character is entered.
Implement the program from question 1 into a java program. You are not allowed to use any of the methods provided in the Character class to implement your solution

Very Simple Question - How to change to lower case in Comic Book Theme

I have a site I have created in iWeb08 and used the Comic Book theme but I cannot change the text on the main page to lower case. I have copied and pasted text in and its always UPPER CASE. I have tried changing the font to no avail. I made a new blank page and typed in and again its UPPER CASE. I can change the font to something else (eg Arial) but whatever I type - its in upper case. Can this be changed. It is OK on other themes. Many thanks.

How do I correct the arrow keys to change from lower case to higher case

The arrow , shift key, will not allow me to change from upper to lower case letters when in I Tunes. the arrow keys seem to work in every other application. I cannot properly enter a password to enter I Tunes. I reset the password from my note book and the password works. only the I pad and I tunes are giving me fits.

the pop-up box comes up just as you said. i then type in the corrected artist's name. i click 'ok', expecting the updated info to appear on the main iTunes library list
As you have discovered, changing the info on the CD after you have RIP'd it will not change any of teh songs you RIP'd.
If you select the CD in iTunes and update the info before you RIP the songs, they will go into iTunes with this new info.
In addition, the CD will display this info if/when you reinsert it into this computer.
If you only change the RIP'd songs in iTunes, they will display the updated info but if you reinsert the CD, it will display the previous info.
Best way to do it is to rename the files on the CD before you RIP.

Change Lower Case to Uppercase in Styles

I have a document which uses lower case subheads throughout. Is it possible to make a character style sheet to change a subhead from lower case to upper case in a document?
Or a way to search using find/change?

You can use the paragraph style for the subheads.
Open the paragraph style and go to Basci Character Formats.
There's a setting for "Case".
Choose All Caps from the menu.
That should change all your subheads to All Caps.

UPPER and lower case file names problem on CD

Hello,
I have a CD which contains, in web page format, the contents of a bibliographical work formerly published on paper. The link codes in all these web pages use lower case filenames. Unfortunately, the files on the disk are a mix with some of them in uppercase, i.e. AD4.HTM and some in lower case, i.e. intro.htm.
This disk used to work, under OS 9 in Internet Explorer. But now, under OS X 10.4.11 and using either Safari or Firefox, I'm getting Page Not Found errors whenever the filename is uppercase.
I could copy all the files off the CD to my hard drive and run a renamer utility to change all of them to lower case. But I have another CD from the same publisher -- same problem -- and may get more, and I don't particularly want all those files on my drive anyway. There's a lot of them!
Is there any kind of setting -- perhaps accessible through one of those arcane terminal commands for setting hidden preferences -- which would allow me to tell the Finder (or maybe Safari or Firefox) to not care about the case of the filenames?
Note that I can change the case of a local HTML file and either browser can still find it. This is only happening on the CD.

I don't think I'll try that one. The most recent update of SheepShaver was slightly over 2 years ago, which indicates to me that the developer is busy doing other things.
I'm very conservative in what I'll install into my system, and old, one-developer software does not fit my standards.
If no other answer comes up, I think I'll copy the files to my hard drive, rename them, then write out a CD with the renamed files and use that one instead. Of course the original CD may contain copy protection features which will prevent this -- I haven't tried it yet.

Autocomplete upper/lower case

I am currently running 3.0.04(Build MAIN-04.34) on Windows XP. For a while I had the auto complete working exactly as I wanted it, and now it is always showing upper case.
What I want to happen
I type "SELECT * FROM myschema.ta" and then hit ctrl+space I want it to auto complete to "SELECT * FROM myschema.table" instead it is currently auto completing to "SELECT * FROM MYSCHEMA.TABLE"(about 90% of the time) or occasionally "SELECT * FROM MYSCHEMA.table"(about 10% of the time). I've tried messing with the various settings but I can't seem to find the right combination. Also, the fact that the behavior changes baffles me. I am assuming I am altering the preferences somehow without realizing.

Actually, there is.
On Preferences - Shortcut Keys, fill 'convert' on the search box.
It will show you the list of available command to change to upper or lower case, however unfortunately there is no initcap.
In my SQL Dev, I put Ctrl + U as the key combination for 'Convert Selection to Uppercase', and Ctrl + L for 'Convert Selection to Lowercase'.
Hence, using these key combinations, we can change case without modifying the autocomplete preferences.
I rarely used initcap, so I guess this is quite enough.

Is a thread I found. It converts the first char in a “bullet list” para style to lower case.
Works great, but often we have lists for which, for several reasons, we cannot use the automatic “list” function (copy paste issues with other programs etc). The first char is the — (alt +0151) followed by a space (no tab) or the • (alt+0149) char.
I cannot figure it out with a grep function, because there’s no mention of “lower case” possibility.
Any suggestions?

I was able to modify Peter Kahrel's script fairly easily to change the third character instead of the first, which I think would do what you want.

I changed
app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "^."; to
app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "^.{3}"; so it picks up the first three characters in the paragraph instead of only one

found[i].characters[0].changecase (ChangecaseMode.lowercase); to
found[i].characters[2].changecase (ChangecaseMode.lowercase); so it changes the third character instead of the first.
The script still depends on the text aving a named applied style (in this case I left it at "List") so you may need to edit more to change the style name to match your situation.
And if you wanted, I think you could probably change app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "^."; to app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "^.+"; to find the entire paragraph, then change the index in the array to match any character position of your choice, but I don't think that has much purpose. One of the scripters could probably jazz this up with an interface that asks which character you want to change.

Several protocols may be used.
Here I describe two of them.
(1) the one which I use : install and use the "Convert to Lowercase" service available in the free WordService
(2) copy your text, paste in TextEdit and enter the Edit menu.
I guess that you will recognize the items in your English menu.

My URL has the first letter capitalized and the rest in lower case. I wanted to change to all lower or all upper case. I can't seem to get this accomplished. Any suggestions? Thanks

If by URL you mean the pagename in the iWeb Sidebar, then yes, it is a funny bug in iWeb.
Select the name and hit Return.
Type something else and hit Return.
Hit return again and type the name and/or characters you want in upper-, lower- or anycase and hit Return.
You can accomplishg the same in the Page Inspector.
