Change Windows Server 2012 colors

Hi
Changing Windows Server 2012 colors is not possible by default without editing the registry.
The location within the registry to change the colors seems to be HKCU\Control Panel\Colors
But:
Comparing these registry entries in Windows Server 2012 with the same entries in Windows 8, which colors are totally different, it is surprising that all RGB color values are exactly identical.
I guess, that this registry part might be the one of previous Windows versions, while the current location to change Windows colors seem to have moved.
Where is the new location within the registry to change Windows Server 2012 colors?
Patrick

Hi,
As far as I know, the HKCU\Control Panel\Colors is still used for Windows 2012, it is same as Windows 8.
You can also find the registry “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Colors” to change the colors.

  • Unable to Change Screen Resolution in Remote Session - Windows Server 2012 R2

Does anybody know of a way to allow Remote Desktop users to adjust their own screen resolution in a remote session under Windows Server 2012 R2? We are struggling with this and can't seem to find a solution.
When users login to their RDP session and try to adjust their screen resolution this message is displayed in Control Panel:
"The display settings can't be changed from a remote session."
We don't want to use the "make text and other items larger or smaller" scaling feature, as this produces undesirable results with some of our applications.  We also don't want to have to support multiple types of RDP clients or RDP shortcut
    files.
We have looked at other posts but can't find an answer that applies to Windows Server 2012 R2.  The closest thing we could find is KB2726399, but it only applies to Server 2008.
Does anybody have a solution for Server 2012?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Currently you cannot change the resolution from within the session.  This is normal and expected behavior.
Unfortunately this means you need to set the desired resolution before connecting by using custom .rdp files, manually within the Remote Desktop Client, custom web launch page, custom windows launch program, etc.

  • Administrator cannot change printer properties on "Advanced" tab from "Devices and Printers" on Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hello, dear Colleagues.
User with administrators rights cannot change printer properties on "Advanced" tab from "Devices and Printers" on Windows Server 2012 R2.
If to launch "Devices and Printers" on server, all printer properties on "Advanced" tab are inactive (see screen below).
But I can change it manually with "Print Management". Features become active.
The main purpose - to uncheck "Enable advanced printing features"  with powershell
    scripts.
    $erroractionpreference = "continue"
$colPrinters = Get-Wmiobject -Class win32_printer -computername print_server -Filter "Name like 'printer1' or Name like 'printer2' or Name like 'printer3' or Name like 'printer4' or Name like 'printer5' or Name like 'printer6'" # get printers on server and filter with names
ForEach ($objPrinter in $colPrinters) { # get printer details from WMI
If ($objPrinter.RawOnly -ne "True") { # check that Advanced printing fetaures is turned on
    Write-host $objPrinter.Name
    Write-Host $objPrinter.RawOnly
$objPrinter.RawOnly = "True" # Untick and update the object in WMI
    $objPrinter.Put()
It works on Windows 7 workstation, but does not on print server Windows Server 2012 R2 with error
Exception calling "Put" with "0" argument(s): "Generic failure "
    At \\print_server\c$\DisableAdvancedPrintingFeatures.ps1:8 char:17
    + $objPrinter.Put()
    + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodInvocationException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DotNetMethodException
Can you help me with that? Look like somethings with rights.
    Thank you.

    Hello, Alan
    Morris.
    Thanks for your reply.
I've tried to runs PS Script both locally and remotely, previously running Powershell ISE as Administrator.
I've noticed interesting thing - if to
    check "Enable advanced printing features"
manually thru Print Management snap-in, script works fine. But, time to time after some manipulations on print server, this advanced feature returns to enabled state automatically by system, I think. In this case PS Script does not work. Next, if to disable
feature manually again (thru Print Management snap-in),
and enable manually again, PS Script will work. Very strange situation.
    Thanks.

  • How do I change the URL to the Remote Web Access server in Windows Server 2012?

    Hallo!
I have set up a Remote Dexktop Service using the "Quick" deployment method in Server Manager and everything is working greate internally, but I cannot start an app published in Remote Web Access from outside our network.
The problem is that it wants to start the using the internal URL, for example, server.domain.local, instead of the external one, for example remote.server.com.
I therefore want to know how I can change the default URL for the Remote Web Access server and all the Remote Web Apps in Windows Server 2012?
I have allready looked in Server Manager and I can change some of the deployment settings in server manager, but there is no way to alter the URL of the Remote Web Access server. See below images:
Pressing the internal URL only results in opening the internal URL.
This was very simple to do in Windows Server 2008 R2 using the tsconfig tool, but it does not seam to be any way of solving this in server manager.
A possible sollution would be to alter the registry someware in HKLM->Software->Microsoft->Windows NT->Terminal Services. But this can easaly lead to problems due to wrong format, etc. and is probably not supported.
Is there a simpler and supported way?

That option can be used to connect to any machine that you want.  The error message indicates that the client machine cannot resolve the name "server.domain.local" to an IP address that it can connect to.
You have several options for configuring that tab on the RDweb site.  You can even remove it entirely.
    Customization of RD Web Site
RD Web provides a number of customization options for the RD Web interface, including the ability to control default Gateway server settings and redirection settings. These settings
are controlled by editing the web.config file located in %SYSTEMROOT%\Web\RDWeb\Pages.
    Displaying Local Help
To display local help for users instead of the web-based help, edit the LocalHelp value and change the value from false to true.
<!-- LocalHelp: Displays local help for users, instead of the web-based help. Value must be "true" or "false" -->
    <add key="LocalHelp" value="false" />
When this value is changed, a user that clicks on Help in the upper right corner of the RD Web login page will open the local help file instead of web-based help.
Hiding the Connect to a Remote PC Tab
    The RDWeb page
Connect to a Remote PC tab can be hidden from users to prevent connections to any servers through RD Web other than the servers configured in a collection. By default, this setting is set to true and the
Remote Desktops tab is displayed. To hide the tab, set the value to false.
<!-- ShowDesktops: Displays or hides the Remote Desktops tab. Value must be "true" or "false" -->
    <add key="ShowDesktops" value="true" />
When the value is set to false, a user will not see the Connect to a Remote PC tab when logged on to the RD Web page
    RD Gateway Settings
If the Connect to a Remote PC tab is enabled, an administrator can configure RD Web to use a Gateway server when connecting to remote computers. To specify a gateway, edit the below
value with the name of the RD Gateway server:
<!-- DefaultTSGateway: Admin can preset this to a given Gateway name, or set to "" for no gateway. -->
    <add key="DefaultTSGateway" value="" />
The default authentication method for the RD Gateway server can also be configured by editing the following section of the web.config:
<!-- GatewayCredentialsSource: TS Gateway Authentication Type.
    Admins can preset this.
    0 = User Password
    1 = Smartcard
    4 = "Ask me later"
    -->
    <add key="GatewayCredentialsSource" value="0" />
    Devices and Resources
By default, only Printers and Clipboard are redirected on connections made using the Connect to a Remote PC tab. If the user clicks the
Options << button, the redirection settings for a specific connection can be modified
To configure each specified redirection option to be enabled or disabled by default, edit the following section in the web.config file:
<!-- Devices and resources: Preset the Checkbox values to either true or false -->
    <add key="xPrinterRedirection" value="true" />
    <add key="xClipboard" value="true" />
    <add key="xDriveRedirection" value="false" />
    <add key="xPnPRedirection" value="false" />
    <add key="xPortRedirection" value="false" />
    LAN Experience Defaults
Windows Server 2012 RD Web Access can display a new user selectable option for optimizing the connection for a LAN experience. This option is displayed at the bottom of the RD Web
page and can be controlled by the administrator using the following section of the web.config file:
<!--  Checkbox to opt for optimized LAN experience -->
    <add key="ShowOptimizeExperience" value="false" />
    <add key="OptimizeExperienceState" value="false" />
This value is set to false by default, but when changed to true, the following checkbox will display at the bottom of the webpage. The LAN experience
checkbox can also be set as enabled by default.
Each setting can also be modified using the IIS Manager user interface:

  • Is there a way to change the Windows Update service startup type on Windows Server 2012 R2?

We have a number of newly built 2012 R2 servers that we have HP Operations Manager agent running on that monitors the status of several services and reports if they are "stopped". One of these services is Windows Update. Every day we
get at least one alert saying:
"Service "Windows Update" is not started. Current state is stopped"
Checking the event logs shows that the Windows Update service stops, then a while later it just starts again. Not an error, just an information event.
In Windows 2012 R2 the Windows Update service is set to "Automatic (Trigger Start)", where in previous versions we run (2012/2008R2) it would be set to just "Automatic" or "Automatic (Delayed Start)"
I have come to understand that this behaviour is normal for Windows 2012 R2, and that Trigger Start services by design stop themselves after a period of inactivity. I was unable to find any info on how this works. Our client would like this to
be changed and the Windows Update service stay running all the time, understanding that this impacts performance.
Is there a way to change the Windows Update service in Server 2012 R2 to the old Automatic startup behaviour so that it stays running all the time instead of stopping and starting periodicall? There is no option to do this via the services mmc
    gui.
    So far I have tried:
Removing the Triggers using the command: sc triggerinfo wuauserv delete
This works temporarily, the service then shows as just Automatic in the services console, however if you restart the server or restart the service it goes right back to being Automatic (Trigger Start).
Any kind of help would be appreciated.

    This one might help.

  • Windows 8.1 pro client on a Windows server 2012 R2 Essentials domain, how to change lock when idle?

    Hi,
I need to find out how to do something?
I have Windows 8.1 pro running on my PC and its part of a domain which is Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, it all runs perfectly except for a little niggle where my Win 8.1 PC locks after its not used for a short time.  What I want to find out is
how to change this so it no longer locks when idle?  I know this is a security feature but as its just my home pc it can be very annoying to log in again after walking away from the PC for a few min's.
I've had a look through the default domain policy but there are so many settings that I can't find it, that's even if there is a setting there?
    Anyway can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Hi,
We can try to implement by use High performance power plan or GPO to prevent computer from locking down:
    Refer to the solution here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/0863112d-ee54-4808-9d27-0380d7bf04b0/gpo-to-disable-lock-computer-?forum=winserverGP
Also, you can check if there is any task scheduled for idle:

    Hope these could be helpful.

  • Unable to login Windows Server 2012 after making local policy changes

Experts, we have modified the local policy setting on the windows server 2012 and badly it was domain controller now none of the users are able to login to the server. After entering the user name and password it will launch till welcome screen then it errors
out saying user name or password incorrect. below are the steps which we followed
    1. Policy setting is located in Computer Configuration\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options \Network security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos values change from Not Configured to DES_CBC_MD5
    2. changed user attribute msDS-SupprtdEncryptionTypes to 2 , this account we were used for kerberos authentication.
    3. Logged off from the server and then server doesn't allow any user to login.
    regards,
    Jakk

Have you tried connecting to the server from a 2nd DC? Have you tried installing the RSAT tools on a domain member server and modify the offending policy ?
last choice would be restart the DC into safe mode.

  • Change bytes per sector windows server 2012

    Hi,
We have installed windows server 2012 Datacenter Edition on
Cisco UCS C24 M3 server. We need to install this with 4K bytes per sector and 4K bytes ber physical sector. When we specify the unit size while formatting it only changes the
    bytes per cluster.
We have tried to change it with 8K & 64K but in OS it shows only in
512 Bit per sector. I have tried to get hotfixes for the same but i didn't got it for server 2012.

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 installed on Windows Server 2012 not sending out email notification

I have a server where i installed SP Foundation 2013 on top of Windows Server 2012. I have configured the SMTP as well as the outgoing SMTP in Central Administration
of SharePoint. When i create an alert on a document library, its did not sent any email notification on the changes made to the document in the document library. So, i created a workflow to send out email using SPD2013. The workflow run, but it cannot sent
out email with error saying that outgoing email is not configured correctly. I have checked with another server which i installed SP foundation 2013 on top of Windows Server 2008 R2 - its sending out email just fine using same configuration and outgoing SMTP.
I need help to resolve this issue or at least the cause of the problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Try below:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13771.troubleshooting-steps-for-sharepoint-alert-email-does-not-go-out.aspx
Go to Central Admin ---->Operations----->outgoing email settings and verify that SMTP server is mentioned correctly
    2) Test the connectivity with the SMTP server.
In order to do that follow these steps:
      Open  cmd
telnet <SMTP server name> 25 ( We connect smtp server to the port 25)
you should see a response  like this 220 <servername> Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.3959 ready at date and time
Beware that different servers will come up with different settings but you will get something
If you dont get anything then there could be 2 possible reasons, either port 25 is blocked or
the smtp server is not responding.
For testing response from your server
For testing response say ehlo to it.
                            Type :
                                        ehlo <servername>
                            output:
                                        250 <servername> Hello [IP Address]
Now a test mail can be sent from that SharePoint server.
Now we need to enter the From address of the mail.
                          Type :
                           mail from: [email protected]
                           output:
                           250 2.1.0 [email protected]….Sender OK
It's time to enter the recepient email address.
Type : rcpt to: [email protected]
    output:
    250 2.1.5 [email protected]
Now we are left with the data of the email. i.e. subject and body.
    Type : data
    output:
354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>
    Type:
subject: this is a test mail
    Hi
    This is test mail body
    I am testing SMTP server.
Hit Enter, then . and then Enter.
    output:
    250 2.6.0 <<servername>C8wSA00000006@<servername>> Queued mail for delivery
    Type: quit
    output:
    221 2.0.0 <servername> Service closing transmission channe
    3)  Check alerts are enabled for your web application
verify if the windows timer service is running or not.
Run this stsadm command to check that
          Stsadm.exe -o getproperty -url http://SharePoint-web-App-URL -pn alerts-enabled
         This should return <Property Exist="Yes" Value="yes" />
If you don’t get this, Enable alerts by:
         stsadm.exe -o setproperty -pn alerts-enabled -pv "true" -url http://SharePoint-web-App-URL
If its already enabled, try turn off and turn on it back.
    4)  Check the Timer job and Properties
           Go to
MOSS 2007:  Central Administration > Operations > Timer Job Definitions (under Global Configuration)
In SharePoint 2010: Central Administration > Monitoring > Review Job Definitions
Check whether the "Immediate Alerts" job is enabled for your web application. check these properties:
                       job-immediate-alerts
                       job-daily-alerts
                       job-weekly-alerts
           stsadm.exe -o getproperty -url "http://Your-SharePoint-web-App-URL" -pn job-immediate-alerts
           The expected output is:
           <Property Exist="Yes" Value="every 5 minutes between 0 and 59"/>.
If you don’t get this, run the following command to set its value.
           stsadm.exe -o setproperty -pn job-immediate-alerts -pv “every 5 minutes between 0 and 59" -url http://Your-SharePoint-web-App-URL
    5)  Check whether the account is subscribed for alerts and it has a valid email account. This should be the first thing to check if the problem persists for some users not for      all.
    6)  Then check if at all those users have at least read permission for the list. Because the first mail should go out for every user without security validation but the next ones       won't be delivered unless the user has at least read
    permission.
    7)  If it is happening for one user, can also try to delete and re add the user in the site.
    8)  Most importantly , you should try this one.
Run this SQL query to the content db < Select * from Timerlock>
This will give you the name of the server which is locking the content database and since when.
In order to get rid of that lock
Go to that server which is locking the content db and then restart the windows timer service.
within some time it should release the lock from content db, if not then at the most stop the timer job for some time
Once the lock will be released then try to send some alerts
You will surely get the email alert.
I found this is the most probable reason for alert not working most of the time. We should start troubleshooting with above steps before coming to this step for any alert email issue but from step 1 to step 7 are best for new environments or new servers.
If the issue is like this ,alert was working before and suddenly stopped working without any environmental change then above conditions in step 1-7 should be ideally fine.
Even after this if it is not working, then you can try these few more steps too
    9)  Try re-registering the alert template:
    stsadm -o updatealerttemplates -url http://Your-SharePoint-Web-App-URL -f  "c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\XML\alerttemplates.xml" -LCID 1033
    10)  Try to clear the configuration cache
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

    Hi
Looks like the AAA configuration is set for local
    aaa authentication enable console LOCAL
    aaa authentication http console LOCAL
    aaa authentication serial console LOCAL
    aaa authentication ssh console LOCAL
    aaa authentication telnet console LOCAL
    Change it to Radius
    aaa-server Keefa-Raduis protocol radius
    aaa-server Keefa-Raduis (NAZCO) host 172.16.200.10
    key *****
    radius-common-pw *****
    for example :
aaa authentication telnet console Keefa-Raduis LOCAL
Now when you will do telnet to using Radius credentials, Its Should work, If radius goes down you can use LOCAL username and password as fallback method.
    Cheers!

  • Cannot publish Flash Updates Verification of file signature failed for file SCUP 2011, SCCM 2012 R2 and WSUS all on same Windows Server 2012 machine

I am attempting to distribute Adobe Flash updates using SCUP 2011, SCCM 2012 R2, WSUS ver4 and Windows Server 2012.  Everything installs without error.  I have acquired a certificate for SCUP signing from the internal Enterprise CA.  I have
verified the signing certificate has a 1024 bit key.  I have imported the certificate into the server's Trusted Publishers and Trusted Root CA stores for the computer.  When I attempt to publish a Flash update with Full content I receive the following
    error:
2015-02-13 23:00:48.724 UTC Error Scup2011.21 Publisher.PublishPackage PublishPackage(): Operation Failed with Error: Verification of file signature failed for file:
    \\SCCM\UpdateServicesPackages\a2aa8ca4-3b96-4ad2-a508-67a6acbd78a4\3f82680a-9028-4048-ba53-85a4b4acfa12_1.cab
I have redone the certificates three times with no luck.  I can import metadata, but any attempt to download content results in the verification error.
    TIA

    Hi Joyce,
This is embarrassing, I used that very post as my guide when deploying my certificate templates, but failed to change the bit length to 2048.  Thank you for being my second set of eyes.
I changed my certificate key bit length to 2048, deleted the old cert from all certificate stores, acquired the a new signing cert, verified the key length was 2048, exported the new cert to pfx and cer files, imported into my Trusted publishers
and Trusted Root Authorities stores, reconfigured SCUP to use the new pfx file, rebooted the server and attempted to re-publish the updates with the following results:
2015-02-16 13:35:44.006 UTC Error Scup2011.4 Publisher.PublishPackage PublishPackage(): Operation Failed with Error: Verification of file signature failed for file:
    \\SCCM\UpdateServicesPackages\a2aa8ca4-3b96-4ad2-a508-67a6acbd78a4\3f82680a-9028-4048-ba53-85a4b4acfa12_1.cab.
Is there a chance this content was already created and signed with the old cert, so installing the new cert has no effect?  In ConfigMgr software updates I see 4 Flash updates, all marked Metadata Only (because they were originally published as "Automatic."
No Flash updates in the ConfigMgr console are marked as downloaded.  I can't find any documentation on how the process of using SCUP for downloading content for an update marked Metadata Only actually works.
    Comments and suggestions welcome.

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 print issues

We are using terminal server with Windows Server 2012 R2. Our users are using Windows 7 Embedded thin clients with MSTSC RDP 8.0. We are using network printers.
There is problem with printing from Adobe Reader. We are using Adobe Reader 11.0.06. Sometimes users cannot print from Adobe Reader with error message "Printer not found" even though we can print on same printer from other software. This problem can be solved by relogging user, but in our enterprise environment, this is not acceptable solution.
    Thanks for your help.

I had the same issue with another Canon UFRII that was not on the network. Canon has some monitor software that attempts to query the device and this threw back Invalid Parameter when the device did not exist.  Is your device on the network?

  • Windows Server 2012 - Hyper-V - iSCSI SAN - All Hyper-V Guests stops responding and extensive disk read/write

We have a problem with one of our deployments of Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V with a 2 node cluster connected to a iSCSI SAN.
    Our setup:
Hosts - Both run Windows Server 2012 Standard and are clustered.
HP ProLiant G7, 24 GB RAM, 2 teamed NIC dedicated to Virtual Machines and Management, 2 teamed NIC dedicated to iSCSI storage. - This is the primary host and normaly all VMs run on this host.
HP ProLiant G5, 20 GB RAM, 1 NIC dedicated to Virtual Machines and Management, 2 teamed NIC dedicated to iSCSI storage. - This is the secondary host that and is intended to be used in case of failure of the primary host.
We have no antivirus on the hosts and the scheduled ShadowCopy (previous version of files) is switched of.
    iSCSI SAN:
    QNAP NAS TS-869 Pro, 8 INTEL SSDSA2CW160G3 160 GB i a RAID 5 with a Host Spare. 2 Teamed NIC.
    Switch:
DLINK DGS-1210-16 - Both the network cards of the Hosts that are dedicated to the Storage and the Storage itself are connected to the same switch and nothing else is connected to this switch.
    Virtual Machines:
    3 Windows Server 2012 Standard - 1 DC, 1 FileServer, 1 Application Server.
1 Windows Server 2008 Standard Exchange Server.
All VMs are using dynamic disks (as recommended by Microsoft).
    Updates
We have applied the most resent updates to the Hosts, WMs and iSCSI SAN about 3 weeks ago with no change in our problem and we continually update the setup.
    Normal operation
Normally this setup works just fine and we see no real difference in speed in startup, file copy and processing speed in LoB applications of this setup compared to a single host with 2 10000 RPM Disks. Normal network speed is 10-200 Mbit, but occasionally
we see speeds up to 400 Mbit/s of combined read/write for instance during file repair
    Our Problem
Our problem is that for some reason all of the VMs stops responding or responds very slowly and you can for instance not send CTRL-ALT-DEL to a VM in the Hyper-V console, or for instance start task manager when already logged in.
Symptoms (i.e. this happens, or does not happen, at the same time)
I we look at resource monitor on the host then we see that there is often an extensive read from a VHDX of one of the VMs (40-60 Mbyte/s) and a combined write speed to many files in \HarddiskVolume5\System Volume Information\{<someguid and no file extension>}.
    See iamge below.
The combined network speed to the iSCSI SAN is about 500-600 Mbit/s.
When this happens it is usually during and after a VSS ShadowCopy backup, but has also happens during hours where no backup should be running (i.e. during daytime when the backup has finished hours ago according to the log files). There is however
not that extensive writes to the backup file that is created on an external hard drive and this does not seem to happen during all backups (we have manually checked a few times, but it is hard to say since this error does not seem leave any traces in event
    viewer).
We cannot find any indication that the VMs themself detect any problem and we see no increase of errors (for example storage related errors) in the eventlog inside the VMs.
The QNAP uses about 50% processing Power on all cores.
We see no dropped packets on the switch.
(I have split the image to save horizontal space).
Unable to recreate the problem / find definitive trigger
We have not succeeded in recreating the problem manually by, for instance, running chkdsk or defrag in VM and Hosts, copy and remove large files to VMs, running CPU and Disk intensive operations inside a VM (for instance scan and repair a database file).
    Questions
Why does all VMs stop responding and why is there such intensive Read/Writes to the iSCSI SAN?
Could it be anything in our setup that cannot handle all the read/write requests? For instance the iSCSI SAN, the hosts, etc?
What can we do about this? Should we use MultiPath IO instead of NIC teaming to the SAN, limit bandwith to the SAN, etc?

    Hi,
    > All VMs are using dynamic disks (as recommended by Microsoft).
If this is a testing environment, it’s okay, but if this a production environment, it’s not recommended. Fixed VHDs are recommended for production instead of dynamically expanding or differencing VHDs.
Hyper-V: Dynamic virtual hard disks are not recommended for virtual machines that run server workloads in a production environment

    > This is the primary host and normaly all VMs run on this host.
According to your posting, we know that you have Cluster Shared Volumes in the Hyper-V cluster, but why not distribute your VMs into two Hyper-V hosts.
Use Cluster Shared Volumes in a Windows Server 2012 Failover Cluster
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj612868.aspx
    > 2 teamed NIC dedicated to iSCSI storage.
Use Microsoft MultiPath IO (MPIO) to manage multiple paths to iSCSI storage. Microsoft does not support teaming on network adapters that are used to connect to iSCSI-based storage devices. (At least it’s not supported until Windows Server 2008 R2. Although
Windows Server 2012 has built-in network teaming feature, I don’t article which declare that Windows Server 2012 network teaming support iSCSI connection)
    Understanding Requirements for Failover Clusters

    > I have seen using MPIO suggests using different subnets, is this a requirement for using MPIO
    > or is this just a way to make sure that you do not run out of IP adressess?
What I found is: if it is possible, isolate the iSCSI and data networks that reside on the same switch infrastructure through the use of VLANs and separate subnets. Redundant network paths from the server to the storage system via MPIO will maximize availability
and performance. Of course you can set these two NICs in separate subnets, but I don’t think it is necessary.
    > Why should it be better to not have dedicated wireing for iSCSI and Management?
It is recommended that the iSCSI SAN network be separated (logically or physically) from the data network workloads. This ‘best practice’ network configuration optimizes performance and reliability.
Check that and modify cluster configuration, monitor it and give us feedback for further troubleshooting.
