Change XI  & retail server password

Dear experts,
There is a need in our organization to change userid and passwords of sap retail server and sap xi server.
We also need to change password and userids of all java stacks opening as Integration Builder,Integartion Repository as well as
Landscape
Scenario implemented is idoc to file to pos and back from pos to file and idoc.
I already found two rfcs. One for moving idoc from retail server to xi which convert it as file and place on one ftp server.
Second rfc for accepting inbound idocs to retail.
At what junctions i need to look on system incase i am willing to change passwords for sap retail and sap xi.Do i also
need to do some administration for j2ee engine and any other area that i may be skipping. ?

Do you mean changing passwords for all user? Could you share what raises such requirement?
There could be various places where you need to change
1. RFC destinations in PI
2. Any URL using PI users for login
3. Exchange Profile
4. NWA/Visual Admin e.g. for third party adapters related settings
5. Any channel with NFS access.
6. Any system connected to PI usually uses some or other communication user.
Note: There is a standard note for changing PI service user password.

Prateek

How to change your Administration Server password when you're locked out
The Netscape server products are all managed by a single administration
server, which gives you a web forms-based interface you can use to
configure them, start/stop them, check their logs, and so forth.
    <P>
There are three levels of protection that keep the general public from
being able to get into your administration server and mess up the
configuration of any Netscape servers you have installed:
    <P>
    <OL>
<LI> <B>Obscurity:</B> Your administration server can run on any port you'd
like (usually something between 81 and 30,000), so if an attacker
doesn't know what port to find your admin server on, he can't get
    into it.<P>
<LI> <B>Host restrictions:</B> You can tell your admin server to only allow
connections from specific hosts, and to reject all other hosts.
    <P>
<LI> <B>Password protection:</B> Even if a user connects to your admin server
from a valid host, he won't be allowed to get into even the first
page unless he presents a valid username and password.
    </OL>
    <P>
If you, the legitimate administrator of your web server, are unable to
access the administration server (if you forgot your password or the
admin port number or if you accidentally locked your own site out),
then here is how to get past each of these levels of protection:
    <P>
    <OL>
<LI> If you don't remember what port your administration server is
running on, just look in your "ns-admin.conf" file, which is in
the "admserv" directory under your Netscape server directory.
(For 1.x web servers on Windows NT, run "regedt32" and go to the
    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Netscape\Administration" section).
You will see a "Port" entry there that specifies what port your
admin server is on. You can change this value if you want your
admin server to run on a different port, but make sure you restart
the admin server after you change the value.
    <P>
<LI> If your admin server is complaining "Unauthorized host" when you
try to connect to it, then you can open it up to all sites by
going into the "ns-admin.conf" file or the "Administration"
section of your NT registry, as described above, and deleting the
lines for "Hosts" and "Addresses" (either one of those might not
be present) then restarting your admin server (on Unix run
"stop-admin" then "start-admin"; on NT go into the Services
control panel and stop/start the "Netscape Administration" or
"Netscape Admin Server" service). You will then be able to get
back into the admin server, where you can then try new settings
for your host and address restrictions if you wish.
    <P>
<LI> If you have forgotten the password to your admin server and now
you can't log into your admin pages, all is not lost! Go into
your "ns-home" directory, and into the "admserv" directory under
that. You should find an "admpw" text file containing a simgle
line of text, something like this:
    admin:lnOVeixulqkmU
The first part of that line is the name of your admin account
(usually just "admin"), and the second part is your admin
password, encrypted. Edit this file to remove the encrypted
password so that your file looks like this:
    admin:
Then shut down your admin server, bring it back up again, and log
into your admin server but don't give any password. It should let
you in, at which point you can then go to the appropriate
configuration page to set a new admin password, and then you're
    back in business.
    </OL><P>
Note that because it is so easy to change the admin password this
way, it's good to periodically make certain that your admin
password file and your web server's configuration files are not
left world-writable, and that only trusted people have access to
them. (By default they're not world-writable, but it's good to
make sure of this from time to time.)

If you mean that yu forgo the password for yur encrypted backup then you can only:
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device.

  • Password Change on MSSQL Server, now no Connection to Workspace

    Hello,
our IT-Department changed the password to login to the MSSQL Server. Now i cant login to Workspace or Financial Reporting. The Error message says the the GSM Service on Port 1800 cant be reached. The Services are marked as started.
I have already used the Configuration Utility and the Service Configurator, there is a tab called database where you can change the login credentials. But i still cant login.
There is a note below which says:
Note: Database properties are tied to some startup scripts and configuration files. If you make any changes on these properties you should change those related files per hand.
    Which Files are meant ?
Where else is the password stored ?
What else can i do to check if the GSM Service is running ?
    Thx for your help
I forgot to say we use an 9.2 enviroment on win2k3 servers.

    Hello,
i talked to support an they gave me the advise to restore the old password to get services running and then do the following steps:
Changing the Services Repository Database Password
When you change the password that the services use to access the repository database, the order
of steps is critical. Carefully read all instructions before performing them.
    Caution!
Make sure to change the password in Workspace before changing it in the database. If you
perform the steps in the wrong order, you may lose the ability to run Workspace.
➤ To change the repository database password:
1 From RSC, select Name Service, Repository Service, or Event Service.
2 Click Show item properties, and select the Storage tab.
3 Change the password and click OK.
4 Repeat step 1 through step 3 for all Name Services, Repository Services, and Event Services with the same
database account, making certain to enter the same password for each one.
If these services use different database accounts, perform this step only for those that use the
account whose password you are changing.
    5 Close RSC.
6 In LSC, click Show host properties, and select the Database tab.
7 Change the password and click OK.
This password property (like the other properties on the Database tab) applies to all LSC services
on the local host, all of which use one database account.
For more information about LSC, see Chapter 8, “Configuring LSC Services.”
8 Repeat step 6 and step 7 on every host that contains LSC services, making certain to enter the password
    the same way each time.
9 If you are using the same database for row-level security, change the password for row-level security from
    the Administer module.
10 Stop the Reporting and Analysis services.
11 Change the password in the database, making certain it matches the password entered for Reporting and
    Analysis services.
    12 Restart the services.
This procedure can also be found in the file hsadmin.pdf which is the Workspace Administration Guide.
My Problem is the IT-Department cant restore the old password, so i fear i have to reinstall the services :(.
    thx for your help

I have the IPhone 4s and it is up-to-date with all upgrades.  Just recently I changed my YAHOO! password however each time I go into settings to update the password I keep getting "YAHOO! Server Unavailable Please try again later."  I have lost my YAHOO! email connection, all calendar entries and saved notes.

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
    https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
    On the iPhone, tap Settings.
    Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
    Tap Add Account.
    Tap Other.
    Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
    Click Next.
    Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
    Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
    That’s all!

  • Why does iPhone/Ipad still sync email after changing Exchange\Windows Server AD password !?

Has anyone noticed this issue before? A user changes their office network password but it takes anywhere from 2 days to more than a week before the iPhone notices and prompts the user to enter their new password. But not only that, users can still access their e-mail account and send and receive e-mail with their old password.
We are using MS Exchange 2010. Other phones like samsung galaxy and nokia e72 immidiatly prompt for a new password, after changing the password on the windows machines.
    Please help.
    Marc

I would recommend as soon as you restore the iPad go in and delete the exchange account from your device.  It may have a cached entry causing the wipe command to continue to execute.  You may ultimately need to restore it without the backup and set the account up again.

  • How can I Change a User's password remotely

    Hi all
I setup an iChat Server. I need to allow the users the ability to change their password without physically accessing the server (including via Remote Managment)
Thow some iChat(jabber) Clients support changing the password, the iChat Server does not appear to have this option.
Is there any way to remotely change a user's password ?
A possible solution would be to setup a Webpage allowing the user to logon and change the Password.
Is there any web managment tool on OS X Server for this ?
    Any other sugestions?
    Thanks,
    Best regards

This is getting depressing. I've just speand most of a day getting the OID to support ldaps SSL protocol, since I read that a number of active directory services only allow password change if the connection is encrypted. Finally got my ldaps connection, but the NoPermissionException is still there. The user I'm signing on as is definitely has user security management permissions. I can't seem to modify attributes at all. I added my own optional attribute to the schema, but JNDI can't set it.
Perhaps the oracle LDAP library in jpdk might help, but I'm not hopeful. If I could find any API documentation I might be more moved to try, but I see no setPassword methods in the relavant classes. This just looks like a fairly thin wrapper for JNDI anyway.
Does anyone know where the API doc for oracle.ldap.* is? Has anyone got a password to change other than by the SSO's built in change password dialog?
I'm not hopeful. On these boards I've found many questions along these lines but, thus far, no answers.

  • Error value = 73, How to change the type of password?

I want to use the famous wiki integrated in leopard, so I had to configure open directory and DNS.
Well my problem come from that I can't configure open Directory, just after creating a new admin, I have no possiblity to change the type of password, there is just the type shadow, and I know that we had to choose open directory's type.
Obviously, I'm authenticated in the workgroup manager
Which services I had to turn on to use open directory's type?
Or which mac I have to hit.
    THX

    Hi
So I had to configure open directory and DNS
What did you do or not do exactly?
My problem come from that I can't configure open Directory
You won't be able to configure Open Directory to allow different password types unless you either bind your Server to an existing KDC or make your Server the KDC. For the Server to be a KDC (Kerberos Distribution Center) it has to be an Open Directory Master. Successful promotion to an Open Directory Master Role absolutely depends on a correctly configured and running DNS Service - either on the server itself or on another server on the same network.
There are plenty of posts in these forums outlining how to configure your Server in terms of DNS as well as how to promote to Open Directory Master. Apple themselves make available Admin Manuals that should assist:
    http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/OpenDirectory_Adminv10.5.pdf
    http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/NetworkServices_Adminv10.5.pdf
Failing this these forums (as already mentioned) as well as:
    http://www.afp548.com
    Hope this helps, Tony

    Hi Experts,
We have password set on our MDM server. I am little confused about how to define MDM server password parameter in external Web service Call structure in SRM System for SRM MDM Catalog 2.0.
Will Catalog webservice work, if we don;t define password for MDM server in webservice??if No, then please let me know how to define MDM server password in SRM websevice.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi Shiv,
The MDM Server password is needed when you are changing Webdynpro UI Configuration.
For catalogs, all you need is the repository userid/password parameters in the call structutre.

I received a message saying I must change my iCloud pass code keychain due to changes in the server. Is this a hoax?

Dang! And if I already did before thinking it might be a scam, what can I do about at this point? I did just reset my password again after realizing it might be a scam, but is that sufficient and is there anything else I should look into to see if any damage was already done? Thanks.

If the credentials in your site definition no longer work (are still entered in the UN and PW fields but non-functional) it would suggest that something has changed on your server.
It happens, and if you use a certain hosting provider with an affinity for neon green, it happens often during random server updates.
A call to your hosting company will take care of it.

Is there a default Essbase Server Password? I stopped and tried to restart the server in 9.3, but it's asking for a password. I don't think anyone set a custom password for the server.

    Have you tried :- password
If that doesn't work then more than likely somebody has changed the password.
