ChangeAudit Job LMS4.2

I scheduled a 24-HR ChangeAudit job and I clicked the link I recieved in the email and I get the following error
"You cannot view the report since the corresponding archive is already deleted or not available"
I thought that the bug CSCsy03151 has already been fixed in RME3.2. Any idea?

Seems the similar issue is resurfaced with LMS 4.2 as well. Now this is # CSCub07385 and being tracked now. Not sure but discussions are to address this in LMS 4.2.2.

Hello Network Management gurus.
I'm baffled by a lot of new features of LMS4.2 and seem lost where to start looking.
Our client needs to periodically make changes to switches to change their port settings.
They have specific descriptions with a certain string. Let's say the description say "Cisco phone".
The task is to create either template or ad-hoc Netconfig job that will send changes only to those switchports.
How can it be done?

I'm almost done except for the task/commands definitions.
This is what I'm doing.
1) Admin -> System -> Group Management -> Port and Module (once I clicked "Port and Module" I'm redirected to Inventory -> Group Management -> Port and Module)
2) I create a group named "VoIP switchport"
3) Then I select the device that I need to configure. It is my switch SW2
4) Then goes Rule Expression:
Port.PortDescription equals "VoIP_Port"INCLUDELIST {:RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380997>,
:RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380996>,

In human language it say that that the switchport description should be matching the string "VoIP_Port" and it is applicable to 5 ports, they are Fa0/1 through Fa0/5 interfaces of the switch
The fun starts when I try to create a job to push some VoIP parameters to the switchports in question.
I create a new NetConfig job, select "Port based" type job, then I select the device which is a redundant step for me. I expect the job selector is smart enough to select the device based on my "Port and Module" group created previously.
Anyways, when I click "Next" I select my Port group which is "VoIP switchport" and then the next screen suggests to select the task. I assume I should select "Adhoc task". When I add an instance of this task I'm presented with a screen prompting to configure CLI commands. This is where I stopped.
What am I starting with? Should I go to the global config mode first ? If I want to send the command "switchport voice vlan 15" should I just add it in the CLI field? How am I applying it only to the required 5 ports?
If I start the job anyway it fails and the error message is no applicable devices.

LMS4.1: Logrotation Job

Hello,
Did setup the Logrotation Schedule, applied and got a response that it scheduled. If I call this again, everithing is shown as default. And I cant find Logrotation Job in the global Job-Browser.
are there any hints how to can find this Logrotation Job?

Yes you are right, you can find it beside the DB-backup-Job in:
crontab -l casuer (Solaris)

Its very confusing to have a unified LMS job management, where you should rely on to can find 100,00% everything of 100,00% of any jobs in LMS and have 2 execptions left.

Dynamic config jobs in LMS4.x

I am looking for a way to deploy dynamic generated config based on a group of devices - the config is simple - like the example below:
int fa0/0.200
encapsulation dot1Q 200
ip address 10.200.x.y 255.255.255.248
router bgp AS
network 10.200.x.y mask 255.255.255.248
ip prefix-list Name permit 10.200.x.z/29
The variables are:
1.the interface - could be fa0/0 or fa0/1 or vlan200 - I have them on a list.
2."x",y,z from ip address is different - is based on an internal location code. All the ip address are generated for every device based on a list.
3. AS is different from each location - i have them in a list
I need to deploy this config on more than 250 devices. Is there any way I can make LMS read some input file to generate config or load some script/excel and then deploy the exact generated config to the right device?.... generate 250 exact deploy-config jobs?... or something similar....

If that code is all planted "on" an object, that might the source of the problem. Try following the AS3 protocol of keeping the code on the timeline. Instead of using "on" on the object, try using...
btnName.onRelease = function(){
etc...
on the timeline like you would in AS3.

LMS4.0.1 - failure with PSIRT-EoX System Job

So we cant create EoX and PSIRT reports
For Job-Log please see attached 1007.1.log.
Patch lms40x-win-CSCto46927-0 has been installed already.
CCO-Credentials + Proxy-settings in LMS must be oK, because we are able to auto download device packages for instance.

LMS 4.2.2 - Compliance Policy and PSIRT/EOX Job Report

I noticed that the job titled Compliance Policy and PSIRT/EOX Job Report has been running since oct 4, 2012 @ 00:30:00. I can see that previous jobs usually take about 3 minutes to complete. Is there a way to stop the job? Is it safe to stop the job? TIA

LMS 3.2 Job Information Status

Hello
In LMS portal, Job information status shows system jobs that have a missed start as the status. These jobs are old versions of jobs (Mon Jun 29 03:00:00 CEST 2009) and the new versions have been running as they should.
The question is how to delete these missed starting job from the preview window. Deleting the job in Job Browser results in:

It seems that the issue is in the timer job definition for executing this operation.
My suggestion is to start the service again and delete the job definition from the error and again try to stop it.

I had a lot of issues in the past when try to stop this instance after the Web apps are provisioned.
As general rule now If I have multi-server Farm topology that has servers that should not serve Web App requests I turn off the service prior to provisioning any Web Apps in the Farm.

Report program when run in background job getting cancelled immediately

When i run a program in foreground i am able to see the output. But when run in background not able to run the job successfully. The job is getting cancelled immediately.
I am using the below function module for output display. Should i need to pass any parameters in the below function module so that i can run the program in background successfully.

Hi Rajani.
ALV require the DRYPOR(screen) for display but incase you run in back ground which have to write to spool but in spool we can only write in format of LIST REPORT not inter-active report like ALV. That why
system cancelled your process immediately.

There is no limit on the report run time. The most probable reason why you are getting the 'Report cancelled upon user request' message is the users might have hit the "cancel Report" button which is displayed when it is running in 'SYNCHRONOUS MODE'. do not hit that button as it will terminate the report. to increase the speed of returning the results by the report, try improving the sql that you use in the report, or if you have DBA rights try adding in INDEXES on the columns of the tables used by the report.

Report for cancelled jobs

I have a requirement in which I have to create a report that should pickup all the cancelled CRM marketing jobs (due to whatever reason) based on on job name, copy them and restart them.
In your selection screen, you will give the cancelled job name (wildcard acceptable..like ZE00*) and a radio button to show the cancelled job list and copy the jobs.
Could anyone guide me on how to go ahead with this report?

Hi,
in table TBTCO and TBTCP you have all jobs with current status. You can search them by name.
Selected jobs you can "popup_with_table" FM. Then you need to use fm to submit job in ackground;
'JOB_OPEN', 'JOB_SUBMIT' and 'JOB_CLOSE'.

Problems creating background job for program (job open, submit and close)

Hi gurus,
im trying to start a background job using the FM BP_START_DATE_EDITOR to show the start date to the job or if it's imediate. this FM it's working fine, after call it im opening a job, submiting it and call the job close FM and the job close FM creates me the job.
The problem it's when i go to the sm37 to see the job status the job has been canceled, and the job log says that i have to give a start date to the job.
What i dont understand it's either the job is imediate or i choose a date to start the job always gives me this error...

In debug mode, check the value of variables you passed to parameters sdlstrtdt and sdlstrttm.
As aditional info, I usually achieve your goal without FM BP_START_DATE_EDITOR.
Check this code:
