Changed AppleID password, now can't get SMS messages on Mac

I changed my Apple ID password (which is also my iCloud and Messages password).
Now I lost the ability to send or receive SMS messages on my Macs. Specifically the messages that show up as green in Messages.
This was working fine on both my Macs (desktop and MacBook Air) before i changed the password.
My iPhone phone number is listed on the Accounts page on Messages preferences on the Macs.
Any suggestions?

Figured it out.
It is called Text Message Forwarding" and there is a option for it in the iPhone Messages preferences.

Oh help. I couldn't remember my password when I logged into the community, so I had an e-mail sent to me and re-set it. I made sure to copy down the password. I successfully changed it and was able to post my question (in another topic than this). Then I changed the password under Preferences in Mail, then sent myself a test e-mail, but I never received it. So I logged into iCloud with the new password, and was successful, and my test e-mail was there. I tried changing the password again in Mail but still can't get the test e-mail on my notebook! This isn't a matter of having copied the password wrong, because I cut-and-pasted it as I normally do when I change a password, and I still have the original password which I had typed in a blank e-mail (I don't know if that's a safe way to do it, but it's what I did).
I do hope you can figure out why Mail isn't accepting the new password when iCloud is!

That was helpful but it didn't solve the problem. There were two red dots, now only one, though I copied and pasted the same password in both places. (I don't recall having to change the password in two places before).
The red dot next to smtp.mail.me.com:(myname) disappeared
The red dog next to smtp.me.com:(myname) is still there. It says, "trying to log in to this SMTP account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct."

did you make the password changes on your phone. Go to settings - mail - account - yahoo - enter the password for your incoming and outgoing mail server.
Or just delete the account and re add with the new password.

Try deleting the account on your phone, turn your phone off, then back on & re-creating the account.

If you are having issues accesssing iCloud after changing your Apple ID password, you may want to confirm the process you use for changing the password, and/or confirm if your new password works at both the Apple ID website (appleid.apple.com) and at iCloud.com. Gmail prompted to change password now can't getting into my Outlook account

Hi, I was prompted by Google yesterday to change my password as they saw some suspicious activity. Now, I can't get into my Outlook on Mac Air and can't figure out how to change my password or get into to change my password. have tried for an hour

Changed password -now can't get mail

I recently changed my email password through the online control panel of my ISP. I can receive mail through their main site via my browser. But suddenly Apple Mail is unable to retrieve mail, although I have already changed the password in prefs and was able to retrieve mail for a few days after changing the password via the ISP. I read the post that suggested retrieving mail via the pulldown menu, but that hasn't worked.
The odd thing is that Apple mail was able to retrieve mail for a 2 days BEFORE I changed to the new password in prefs. Not sure how that worked. But it did retrieve mail AFTER I updated the password prefs-until now. I hope this is clear.

Try launching the Keychain Access utility, locating your e-mail password, and deleting it.

I've changed AppleID and now can't update Apps. Help!

I've seen lots of discussion on similar lines but don't seem to find any solutions. To be clear, all I've done is follow instructions from Apple regarding how to change AppleID. I did this as old email account was about to become obsolete. Which also means I can't just change back. When I now try to update Apps, the password popup has the old AppleID hardwired. If I sign out and in with new AppleID this does not change. I don't recall any warning from Apple that changing my AppleID would create this problem. I am now dead scared that it is being treated like a new account which will also cause me problems with music downloads etc. From the amount of similar complaints online I would not seem to be the only victim here. Does anyone have a clear answer to this?

On your iDevice, make sure you first log out then log back in with the updated AppleID.
Settings > Store, tap the account name then Sign out and Sign in.
The AppleID used to purchase the item is embedded into the item at time of purchase.
If you have simply updated your AppleID, just use the current password when the old AppleID shows up. You don't need to (and cannot) change the AppleID to the new AppleID.

I have tried to change my password and get to the part where you need to verify by answering the questions, and I get can not get any further, as it tells me the answers aren't the ones they have but I know it is correct, so I have asked for an email to be sent, but no email comes.I receive other emails from iTunes but not the one helping me to change the password. Had to change Apple ID, now can't get icloud

We have 9 devices, I have changed the iCloud ID on my Mac Pro but can't get other devices to change. The ID in cloud is grayed out.

To change the iCloud ID on your iOS devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the changed ID. If you have any photo stream photos that you want to keep on the device, save them to your camera roll before deleting the account.

Can't get group messages from iphone user

I use to be able to get group messages from an iPhone user when I was using my Razr Maxx but switched to an iPhone for a couple months, then back to the Razr Maxx and now I can't get group messages from my iPhone users. I'm using the same text message service I was using before trying an iPhone so I don't know why I now can't get group messages.

I used the wrong password for my belkin wifi. Now that I know the correct password I can not get pass the unable to connect or join message. I have turned off all the options such as wifi and join and also put my touch to sleep.. but nothing seems to work

Does anyone know how to get pass this block of the wrong password to a new page that will allow me to type in the correct password. I see there is a option that asks if I want to reset the network settings.. is that what I should do? and what does it erase when I do that? Thanks for any input anyone has.

Yes. Reset network settings. Head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.

I found a post with the answer. Basically I just logged out of the iCloud. My concern was that I would loose my contacts. But when i logged back in with the correct AppleID -- it was all there.

Your Apple ID is required to log in to iCloud, yes? I think you are rquired to re-sign in when performing an iCloud feature?
