Changed bash to tcsh in gui MAC OS 10.5.8 how to chage back to bash?

Hello everyone,
I've changed /bin/bash to bin/tcsh now the OS does not load, but terminal loads with no problem.
Tried to change the tcsh back to bash with chsh -s/bin/bash -
got this message:
Changing shell for root.
launch_msg(): Socket is not connected
chsh: Unable to open Directory node with name /Local/Default. Unable to open node.
Anyone have a suggestion, or can help?

Sounds like you are in "Single User Mode", which is not really the Terminal, it is just a command line interface.
EXACTLY what did you Orignally Change?
What utility was used?
What account did you change the default shell for? Root? Other?
Do you have a Backup? If so, you might consider restoring from your backup.
You could re-install Mac OS X from the installation DVD (or was Leopard a multiple CD set?). Then apply the combo updates to get back to 10.5.8

It sounds like you destroyed your boot partition and the recovery partition. Depending on it's age, your MacBook Air might be able to do a net boot. Plug and ethernet connection into it and attempt to boot. If it has the right firmware, it will find a net boot configuration on the net and boot that. Then it will give you a Recovery Partition like display and allow you to reinstall the OS X version that came with it.... assuming that it was Lion or ML. If your computer came with Snow Leopard, then even the net boot won't work.
At that point you need a bootable USB Key, or an external DVD drive AND a Snow Leopard installation DVD.
An Apple Store, if there is one nearby, MAY be able to get you going again. However, whatever is on the SSD now will be toast too.

Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.

Call the tech support for the provider of your old email. They will be able to change the password for you or if they can't they will shut the account down so that spammer is not able to use it.

The Apple drivers you install in Windows also puts a Startup Drive icon in the Task Bar. Choose that to change the startup disk back OS X.

While writing I made a mistake... It is true I could become aware of the Scorpio incompatibility.
I also tried the same identical procedure with a Seagate one. This disk and the same procedure was performed by some people I know on many MacBookPro Mid-2010 and everything was OK.
We do not understand why this problenm occurs.
Furthermore, If I installed the system on the broken HDD (that works, but sometimes it fails so badly and makes the system experience kernel panic) I could boot from it.
I guess it is because of the **** Apple FIrmware written on the label.
Is it possible that I cannot manage to boot from my new HDD because it has not a "special" feature on it that makes it compatible with apple??? Why making things so **** difficult my god a closer world like Apple one is impossible to imagine.

iTunes for Windows (but not iTunes for Mac) can import and convert unprotected WMA tracks. If the tracks are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) then it will not accept them.
One option would be to install iTunes on your PC, do the conversion, and then transfer the converted tracks from iTunes on your PC to iTunes on your Mac.

Restore the iPod in iTunes for Mac. Restoring will erase and reformat the iPod's hard drive, reload the software with the Mac version and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. My current iTunes ID is my e-mail address (through sbcglobal). I'm shutting this account down. I'd like to change my account to my current .mac account, and make that my global Apple ID.
That Apple ID is already established; I use it for my mobileme account (and posting here).
My question is, when I go into Apple ID (or through iTunes settings) to do this, while I still be able to access right-protected files I've purchased that are tied to that old e-mail address?
The process is a bit confusing, and before I commit, I'd like to be sure I'm not screwing anything up. (Also, will I lose the contents of my iTunes wish list?)

No, the method to do this isn't very intuitive. To change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
