Changed BIOS settings, Monitor won't turn on (Help with resetting CMOS)

Hello,
I have an HP Envoy 700 PC Series. Running Windows 8.
Everything was working fine, until I changed/disabled some settings in the BIOS, an dnow the PC turns on without any display.
I need to reset my Bios settings.
I tried removing the CMOS battery for an hour, still the monitor doesn't turn on.
I tried playing with the jumpers (assuming I'm doing it right).. Any pointers?!
Pc turns on normally without a display. This all happened when I changed my BIOS settings.
Any help would be great.

The fact that you removed the CMOS battery usually resets the BIOS so this may not be the problem, however, the computer must be left on for up to 24 hours to permit the battery to charge itself.
You may opt to try another monitor.

My daughter's iPhone 4 just randomly shut down a little while ago. all it's showing is the black screen with the apple logo .... Ok ... this worked ... my daughter wasn't too happy that she would lose all her data ... but she also needs her phone back ... she said she just updated a few days ago but doesn't think she saved her pics ... oh well .... all ths happened because she was trying to load Twitter and it wasn't loading ....

For Safari to work, you need either Wi-Fi or cellular data.
Are you connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot?
If not is Settings > Mobile/Cellular > Mobile/Cellular Data: ON

If it won't turn on then the monitor is dead (power supply?, video circuits?). Not worth repairing.
If you have a new iMac then it has thunderbolt. So exactly what is that monitor you are trying to connect? For TB you can connect a mini-displayport monitor. Probably (not 100% sure with TB) can use dvi or vga too if you have the appropriate adapter.

Changing BIOS settings?

About a month ago I picked this motherboard up, and I usually format after I get new hardware. Since this new motherboard apparently doesn't let me change them, and WinXP doesn't have DOS, how do I change my BIOS settings so I can format?

me_AMD is right, though... if you want to change BIOS settings just press DELETE on your keyboard, whether PS/2 or USB makes no difference. Press it as soon as the video card bios disappears and the system posts.

i have done this on my ipad mini and my imac but they are still not syncing. my iphone 4 has the icloud symbol but it seems to be unresponsive to touch, I cannot get it to highlight or turn-on. Bit confused.

Nokia 5800 XM won't turn on even with battery char...

My Nokia 5800 ran out of batteries this morning, so logically I'd charge it. However, it won't turn on, even with the battery charger! I took out the battery and stuck it back in again, but it still won't turn on! The last sign of life was when there was a greyish screen, but I took the battery back out and it won't turn on again. Help! I'm scared I fried my phone somehow and I've only had it for a month!

GX740 monitor won't turn on when lid is opened and weird HDD specs?

This is the second GX740 I have received after returning the first one due to a defective hard drive.
I have changed all the power options so that closing the lid does nothing except switch off the lid. However, when I close the lid and reopen it, the screen won't turn back on. The system itself is still on and working though (ie. cpu running, harddrives running) but its just the screen that won't turn on. The only thing I can do is hit the on/off button, which I have set to go to sleep. The funny thing is that when I hit the on/off button again and bring the pc out of sleep mode, the screen will start functioning normally (ie. when I close it and reopen it, the screen will turn on) but if I switch it off or restart it, then the monitor will not turn on when the lid is closed and opened again.
Also another very strange thing I noticed is that although my harddrive is a 320gb 7200rpm WD drive, the model number in Device manager is WD6400BEVT - which I'm guessing is the number for the 640gb drive?! This hasn't caused any problems so far but it seems very odd to me and I am just wary of complications in the future as I returned the first GX740 I got due to a defective harddrive
Also, I have updated windows 7 completely.
Any ideas?

Vbios is under Firmare and VGA drivers under Drivers.

Monitor won't turn on after "sleep"

Hi,
I have an Apple Studio Display 17" hooked up to a New Mac Pro, running 10.4 Tiger. When the computer goes to sleep the monitor won't come back on when I wake it unless I shut the monitor off and turn it back on again. Why?

Try using PC blindly. For example, leave music player on screen, wait for the fault to appear and than start it. If you hear the sound, then it is either:
Your closed-source driver mistake. Try changing it's version either side or replacing with open-source one. For radeon it is really better already.
Your monitor can't wake up from sleep. Nothing can help it, then. When rebooting PC, it gets a special signal, different from that on sleep.

T42 Can't change BIOS settings

I can get into the BIOS fine, I just can't change any of the settings in the BIOS settings screens because it says I need to be in 'admin' mode. I've entered the BIOS by hitting the blue 'Access IBM' button, F1, or F12 and I run into the same problem regardless. This was previously my brother's laptop and he set a BIOS password which I know and he was telling me one of the F-keys will get you into admin mode but he forgets which one.

excellent decision. Bios passwords should only be used in rare cases. For years used corporate thinkpads were dumped on the market with passwords, which only served to tarnish thinkpads reputation when buyers get stuck with them. Luckily the brokers have learned not to accept them unless the corp remove the passwords first.

Help - Changed BIOS settings, now no video signal

Please help -- I changed my BIOS settings to "High Performance Defaults" and configured my boot sequence, etc. Now I get no video signal when I boot.

I presume you mean you can't get back into bios by holding down DEL. quickest way is to reset the JBAT1 jumper. /take power lead from PSU, remove JBAT1 from pins 1 & 2, put jumper on pins 2 c& 3 for 5 secs, then pur it back on pins 1 & 2, put power lead back in, Boot, this will reset bios to defaults, you will need to enter setup at prompts and set your boot sequence etc. Did you have turbo on as well as high performance? Better using Safe defaults, then using core center to see what you can set it up to.

My 2nd monitor won't turn on when plugged in

Hi guys,
I have a Macbook Pro (June 2012) and i am using the thunderbolt port to have an external monitor (Neovo F-417)
I am using an adapter between the monitor (which is VGA) and and the Macbook (thunderbolt port)
When the mac is on and i plug in the display, the screen goes blue for a second as it should but the monitor doesn't turn on but it thinks that the screen it there because it shows up in Displays in System Preferances and it allows me to drag the cursor off the Macbook screen and onto the blank screen
Any ideas?

Then your adapter may be inadequate for converting to VGA.
There is a perfectly good Analog VGA signal already present. It is presneted on the DVI port on a Mac Pro display card. Asimple adapter will re-wire it for VGA use, no conversion required. Does no apply to your MacBook Pro.

RAM Upgrade - Monitor Won't Turn On

I just upgraded my iMac from 512 mb of RAM to 2 gigs. Now when I turn it on, the computer boots but the monitor doesn't turn on. Any solutions?

It would help to know the model identifier of your Mac to figure out the exact specs for the RAM; here is how to find it (compliments of OWC - macsales.com):
They are also an often recommended source for RAM; I would check their website before purchasing PNY.
