Changed gmail password not accepted by iphone

I changed my gmail password the other day and now my iphone keeps saying that it is incorrect even though I entered the new password into the settings. Do you know what I should do? Please help I have tried everything!

This only answers your question if you have enabled 'two step verification' on your gmail account.  Hope this helps!
I recently had my FB account hacked by an iphone user and when I changed my FB password I also changed my Gmail account password.  For added security I turned on the 'two step verification' code option in Gmail.  However, when you connect to gmail via iphone there is no way for iphone to do the second verification so it gives you an error message that your password is incorrect.  You need to go into your gmail account settings>authorized applications and sites and generate a password for your iphone.  You can then enter that password into your settings on your iphone and you should be able to connect.

  • Changed Yahoo password not accepted

I changed my password for Yahoo and Messenger. With the new one I can log on to the web site and also to the Yahoo Messenger program. But iChat no longer lets me in to my Yahoo account. I always worked before. And I have changed the password to the new one in the preferences. A pop up continually happens telling me to insert the correct one which I do. But it will not accept me.
Should I do something in the keychain? I see both the old and the new one are there.

    Hi,
I would tend to delte the older entry then.  (The Keychain just keeps them all when you change things)
When you double click the entry you should gte the info Panel.
    This has two Tabs.
In Access does it say Allow All apps or is it set to "Restrict to Specific apps"
If it is the second is iChat Listed ?
The Safari thing might be a setting that Safari uses to Open an App that can deal with a Link.
(I must admit I don't use Safari and can't find where it has the MIME Settings)

  • Change of Password not accepted by my BB

    Hi Junanca4
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums.
Though I am not an Specialist but still , Sometime if  you  have a mixture of different characters in our password, and probably  you are not able to enter those on the Device  keyboard. For example , if your password is
    jun123
    And you enter j >  u  > n >  alt  >  1 > 2 > 3
then  the actual result will be
    jun1er
    However you must enter
    j  > u  > n > alt  > 1  >  alt  > 2  > alt  > 3
to get jun123 on your device.
So while on the BlackBerry  keyboard you may  think you are typing  jun123, you are actually typing jun1er.
You need to type the Correct password that you had set or else after entering incorrect  password one more time will result in complete device wipe deleting all data within your device.

  • Gmail Error: Username and Password Not Accepted?

Okay, once in a while my e-mail actually works on my I phone but about 90% of the time I get this notification; Cannot Get Mail: Username and password not accepted. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Oh yeah, I'm using 1.0.2, gmail, and I'm positive my password and username is right.

I think the problem is solved. Last night I was on my friends computer and I accidentally stored my gmail password. I couldn't figure out how to delete it so I changed my password and then updated my iPhone with the new password. Ever since then I haven't had any problems.

  • Apple id password not accepted on icloud

why is my apple id password not accepted when I try to login to iCloud? The same password worked when I tried to login to support to post this question!

If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Changed gmail password, can't access mail

I'm getting an error message, "username and/or password incorrect".  I changed the password in the iphone settings for mail, and that didn't help.  I then deleted the account and added it as a new account and that didn't help. I turned my phone and back on three different times, and that didn't help. Any suggestions?
    Thank you,
    Susan

    1. I just changed my gmail password and now my iphone 5 with 7.1.2 does not recognize the password.  I have deleted the account and reestablished and to no avail.  I can sign in on my computer.  I tried your link above on the phone but it just goes to safari and asks for my password.  Of course it doesn't work there.
    2. I am not getting push notifications from 2 different apps.  Unrelated but it started 2 weeks ago.
    Please help!?!?

  • Cant restore back up from iCloud as password not accepted

when trying to restore an 1phone 5s from iCloud back up my password is not accepted..i then go to iforgot, change my password retry the restore process and get the same issue.I have tried turning find phone off, starting again but still cant access back up because password not accepted.

I can't change my DNS settings. I'm trying to restore while setting up my phone. If I change the DNS settings while on the phone, and then restore the phone and try to restore from the back-up on my iCloud, it won't save that I've changed settings to use Google's public DNS. I would log onto my university's secure wifi instead of their guest wifi, but unfortunately I can't. because that involves an installation, which I can't do if I restore my phone and am trying to set it up.

  • HT201342 Changed gmail password and now icloud email disappeared? How do I get access old email?

Changed gmail password and since then Icloud email disappeared! No sure how to retrieve or access Icloud email now! It use to appear under mailboxes but now
It is empty! How do we access or retrieve Icloud email?
Now sure how changing anything in Google would affect Apple and Icloud functions!
    Thanks

The only thing I did was I went to the Apple.com , logged in and changed my primary e-mail since I will be losing the old email soon ( I have a different job). I said update info and verified the email was correct. I just went to settings on icloud and logged out and tried to log in and now it won't take anything. I don't even know now which e-mail they want the primary one or recovery, it won't take any of the 3. Not sure what else to try at this point, I guess I can't buy any more music.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Signed up on furefox desktop 2/2. No problem. Today password not accepted. Asked for help 3 hrs ago and never got email and nit in spam

Was sucesssful signing up and using firefox on desktop yesterday. Today user name and or password not accepted. Can't get emails-nothing. Asked for help with password and never got email. This was 3 hrs ago and not in spam folder

Password for what? Signing up for what?
Firefox doesn't need a password for a person to be able to use it.
Firefox shouldn't affect your ability to get email - Firefox doesn't do email, but it will allow you to access your web-mail service.

  • Changed password not accepted in Mail????

I have recently changed both my Gmail and Hotmail passwords following the announcement that some account details had been posted online.
Now, when starting Mail, I got the pop up window saying my password was not accepted (hotmail) and I duly entered the new password and my mails arrived fine.
However the same cannot be said with Gmail, I have tried a zillion times to put in the new password but Mail still tells me that it is refused and won't download my messages.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Quit Mail if it's open.
Open Keychain Access (Applications / Utilities).
    Select Passwords on the left.
On the right delete the GMail and Hotmail names.
    Quit Keychain Access.
Next time Mail asks for authorization, click "Always Allow".

  • Password not accepted after changing user name

I changed my user name in the system preferences -> user and groups -> advanced options.I did not change my password tho.
I then put my macbook to sleep. When I wake it, it won't accept my old password!
I did some searching online, and found solutions which work for previous versions of Mountain Lion or Lion here. OS X: Password may not be accepted after changing user's full name
However I believe I am using a 10.9.3 (I may have updated to Mavericks, I am sorry I forgot), so none of these tricks work for me.
Can someone help me out? much thanks!

  • After password changed, Gmail is not working on iPad mail apps.

After Gmail password changed, iPad mail app's not working.
I changed  password on ipad setting too.
But its showed ' Theuser name or password for "Gmail" is incorrect. '
I can use Gmail from safari.
    Why?

Try this. Even if the outgoing primary server states that the username and password are optional, fill them in anyway.
Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if you can then send emails.
