Changed lyrics not syncing
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1, an iMac running iTunes 10.5.3.
I have previously synced my iPhone with iTunes, and some of the songs have lyrics.
If I need to make a change to the lyrics for some reason, (mostly because they don't format properly when viewed on the iPhone, or they have the wrong lyrics listed), once changed and I then re-sync the iPhone, the new lyrics do not come across.
I have even deleted the playlist from the sync list, run the sync again, made sure there was no music on my iPhone. That seems to be working the way it should.
Then when I select my music again in the sync list, and re-sync my iPhone, the old lyrics still appear on the iPhone. The new lyrics are no-where to be found. Everything is still proper on the iMac in iTunes, but not on the phone.
I even deleted the lyrics on iTunes, synced my iPhone, and the lyrics were still on the iPhone they should have been gone.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and found a way to fix it?
It looks like once the wrong lyrics have been synced over to your phone you can not fix the issue. I do not want to restore my iPhones firmware just to fix this issue, which looks like it should be a simple operation.

i have the same problem too.
My workaround:
- Write your Lyrics into the song
- Delete the Song from the iTunes Library (right-click -> delete -> move to trash
- Open the Trash folder and move the song to the desktop (that's only because it's quicker to find there later and that you don't accidently delete your song comletely)
- Sync the iPhone/iPod Touch (Song should now be deletet in iTunes and on your iDevice)
- Go to "Add to music library" and select the deleted song from the desktop
- Sync your iPhone/iPod Touch again
Song should now be displayed with the right lyrics on your iPhone/iPod Touch.
But please do also report your bug on:
www.apple.com/feedback/
The more people reporting that bug directly to Apple, the faster they will work on a solution (hopefully).

When I retouch photos, the changes are not synced to my iPad
Straightening and cropping chages are synced to my iPad, but when I just use the Retouch brush to remove dust or scratches, those changes are not synced.
I even removed all the photos from my iPad and reloaded all 25,000 (ugh) and the spots and scratches still are copied (even though they don't appear when I look at the version in Aperture). What's going on?John,

Since you have the ability to put your photos on your iPad, that means your previews are being generated at some point. However, your previews are not being updated. You can probably verify this by right-clicking one of your adjusted photos and selecting "Update Preview". If Aperture does not complain with a dialog, that means your preview was not up to date and Aperture updated it. Then, you should see your changes on your iPad (after syncing) and on anything that uses a media browser. (I usually check to see what my previews look like by browsing my Aperture library by "pretending" to change the desktop wall paper in System Prefereces or through the Apeture browser in iPhoto.)
Well, that will probably work. I have noticed a lot of problems generating and updating previews, though. For instance, if I have a preview with an adjustment, and then I make another adjustment (without updating the preview), my media browser shows the original version, somehow reverting from adjustment 1 merely because I made adjustment 2. Sometimes, no matter what I do, Aperture will not make new previews or update old previews (even when I tell it to) until some random time. Sometimes there are previews missing that were just there. I.e., it is buggy and I personally have not figured out a pattern. I urge you to provide Aperture Feedback if you find problem as well.
In any case, for any project there is an attribute called "Maintain Preview for Project". You can select this by selecting a project and the clicking the "gear" button in the upper right of the Inspector. With this on, Aperture should keep your previews up to date.
So, once your previews are up to date, iTunes should be able to determine what is different from one sync to the next and send the adjusted photos to your iPad. Be aware, though, that once the transfer of data is done, your iPad must reconcile the photos it received, so it may take a bit of time to see the photos.

New/Updated contacts on iPhone 4 not syncing to iMac Address Book

My problem:
When syncing my iPhone 4 with iTunes 10, iTunes will sync contacts FROM my iMac to the iPhone. It will not sync new or changed contacts from the iPhone TO my iMac (no two-way syncing).
Further background:
I recently had Apple replace my hard drive and restored from a Time Machine backup. Everything is working properly except this.
What I'm using:
* iPhone 4 w/ iOS 4.1 (latest)
* iMac 2.4 GHz Intel running OS X 10.5.8
* iTunes 10.1 (54)
Example:
If I create a new contact on my iMac, it syncs with the iPhone as expected.
On the iPhone, If I edit the contact originally created on the iMac and re-sync, the changes do NOT sync back to my iMac.
If I create a new contact on my iPhone, it does not sync with Address Book.
What I've tried so far that has not worked:
1.) Unchecked and re-checked "Sync Address Book Contacts" in iTunes (one-way syncing works fine)
2.) Used the "Replace information on this iPhone" for Contacts within iTunes (contacts from iMac overwrite iPhone as expected)
3.) I had a trial MobileMe subscription that I cancelled months ago.
Went into the iPhone > Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > deleted the MobileMe account, keeping existing data on my iPhone.
4.) Unchecked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Went to /users/[username]/Library/Application Support/AddressBook, deleted AddressBook-v22.abcddb and /Images
* Went to iSync app > Preferences > Reset Sync History
* Verified new addressbook and /Images folder were created
* Re-checked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Performed another sync using iTunes
(One-way sync works fine)
5.) Deleted all Address Book entries
* Unchecked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Went to /users/[username]/Library/Application Support/AddressBook, deleted AddressBook-v22.abcddb and /Images
* Went to iSync app > Preferences > Reset Sync History
* Verified new addressbook and /Images folder were created
* Re-checked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Performed another sync using iTunes
Can anyone offer some suggestions? I have my address book backed up, but I'd really like to be able to perform a two-way sync from my iPhone to my iMac's Address Book.

RobNo need for apologies! Yes, it was checked. Looks like I have solved the problem now and it was something very basic - in the preferences of Contacts on the iMac. Looks like it's all synced now. Thanks for replying!

Sync iphone G3 will not sync calendar
Have used iphone G3 long time but now iTunes on Mountain Lion goes through motions of Sync but Calendar and Contact changes are NOT realy synced. Items I change do not sync between Macbook and iphone. Wonder if iCloud has sabatoged ability to sync since iPhone G3 does not have Cloud???
If new events added to her iPhone do not appear on her calendar on icloud.com, on her phone go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar and be sure she has selected an iCloud calendar as your default and not something else like On My iPhone, a Google calendar, etc. If she hasn't, make this change, then add a new event and see if it appears on her calendar on icloud.com now.
If her settings are correct and new events still aren't appearing on icloud.com, add any missing calendar events from her phone to her calendar on icloud.com. Once her calendar on icloud.com is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then after a minute or so, turn Calendars back to On. Then add a new event on her phone and see if it appears on her calendar on icloud.com (and her Macs) now. -
Address Book not syncing to Gmail
I have Snow Leopard and have enabled the Sync to Gmail feature in Address Book. However, my Address Book changes are not syncing to Gmail Contacts.
I'm Running Mac OS X Lion, and have seen that changes made in the mac address book do not sync to gmail contacts but changes to gmail contacts do sync to the mac address book.
Making a change to a contact on my phone does sync to gmail contacts, and then to the mac address book.
Another test I ran was to change the same contact in gmail and mac address book. I made a change to a mobile number and notes in one contact on my mac address book, attempted to sync, and the change does not appear in my gmail contacts. I tried multiple times, restarted my web browser, restarted mac address book, the sync would not work. I changed the same contact mobile number in gmail with a slightly different change to the notes field so I could see when an update occurred, and when I told mac address book to sync it recognized a conflict. When I select the mac address book change to resolve the conflict, the gmail contact is not updated. When I repeated the experiment and selected the gmail contact to resolve the conflict the change is made in the mac address book. -
Lightroom Desktop does not Sync with LR Mobile
I Synced about 10.000 Pictures to LR Mobile. Then I selected some Pictures ("accept" and "reject"), and moved Pictures from one collection to a new one.
I see These changes on the Adobe CC Website (LR Mobile Weblink).
Unfortunately, These Changes do not sync into LR Desktop. In LR Desktop I found there is a Folder "All Sync Errors". I removed the problem pictures from the collections they were in, so that they shouldn't be synced anymore. But the don't go awa from the "All Sync Errors" Folder.
Then I changed some Pictures in LR Desktop (exposure up). Now These Pictures dissapeared from the Ipad, and also from the Adobe CC Website, but they appeared in the "All Sync Errors" Folder in LR Desktop.
I tried to stop and start syncing using the actionpanel, I also tried to log off and log on to the creative cloud (using Lightroom Desktop AND the Adobe CC Application)
How do I get the Sync running again?I'll passed the log you've send to me to one of our dev. I'll come back to you as soon I have an update.
Could you try to remove the photos from sync and see if this helps. You can add them afterwards.

(ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly. Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them. Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view. I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes. My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.

I can not sync my IPhone to My Imac. I have the latest version of ITunes on my Imac. I have tried reseting my phone (3), changing ports. Nothing works. I was thinking maybe my phone has the earlier version of ITunes but I can't update it.

I cannot get iCal to accept any calendar changes from Mobile to my laptop. Only events created, deleted or edited on my laptop with iCal are syncing correctly. I've tried creating/deleting from my iphone. The events show up on my mobileme calendar on the web. But when I sync my laptop, the changes do not show up. This renders my phone calendar useless for calendar management

When I receive appointments by email and accept them they go into the enourage "on my mac" ical calendar which is not synced with mobileme. How do I change where appointments are put ?
Or how can I choose where the appointment is put ?
I use the mobileme sync services so the ical calendars that are synced are those in the "[email protected]" group.
Please help !
NickActually you can't drag the appointment to ano calendar - its says "You can’t make changes to this invitation., Only the organiser can change this event"
Also if you double click on the received appointment and open the window the only calendars shown that you can select are the 'on my mac" ones, and not the sync'd ones.

Why does my iPod Gen6 not sync after changes made in iTunes on PC?
I make changes in my music in my iTunes program on my PC (check/uncheck certain music/songs) and these changes are not reflected after I sync my iPod Gen6; all music is the same as it was before on the iPod.
How is your iPod configured to sync with your iTunes library? Automatically or manually? In other words, what options do you have enabled from under the iPod's Music and Summary tabs?

my iPhone 4s will not sync a changed playlist from itunes unless i turn off music match. Shouldn't I be able to use a playlist and music match at the same time?
It's not entirely impossible actually as someone has pointed out to me that I can turn on Call Forwarding and that stops any incoming calls. I've just forwarded it to my google voice number and then turned on "do not disturb" in google voice and whenever I get a call it goes straight to my google voice voicemail and my phone does nothing. The only thing now is I still get text messages but I think the phone calls bugged me more because they would make my music turn off for much longer.
Even though this isn't a perfect solution it's something so far so maybe you shouldn't just come out and say there's NOTHING I can do because so far I've found part of a solution. If you don't have anyting productive to say then just don't reply and close the tab. Thanks.
At this point I'm wondering if anyone knows of any Jailbreak tweaks that can enable what I want. Unless of course it's agaisnt the rules of this forum to mention jailbreak stuff... -
I restored my ipod touch however the apps will not sync. I tried to re-download but I changed my apple id as my old id is no longer a valid email address. Any ideas out there please?
It might be logical to someone, but not to me. I agree it's a pain.
How did you change your Apple ID? Creating a new one is not what you want to do, but if you changed the ID associated with your purchases then that might have worked. You would need to sign in with the Apple ID on both your iPod Touch as well as in iTunes. I'm not sure how you changed it but clearly they need to match.
If it's just your password that is not getting recognized reset it here: http://iforgot.apple.com/
It will send an email confirmation to the email address associated with that Apple ID. The email address you elect to use might not look anything like your Apple ID. If you don't appear to get an email check your spam filter. -
I have a 120gb Classic that has been working, connecting and syncing flawlessly for years. Now it appears that (maybe since an itunes update) my same Windows 7 x64 computer that has not changed other than the occasional iTunes update will not detect my iPod, and therefore will not sync any more.
The odd thing is that iTunes will sometimes see the iPod (not always), and Windows will also sometime see the iPod. Even when it does, and I click to sync a podcast (or anything else) it appears to go through the #1 and #2 steps and says it is syncing - Do not unplug, then appears to finish, but when you check the ipod after ejecting, nothing has changed. It looks like this has been happening for about a week, but my wife must not have realized that songs and other items were not actually syncing.
I have tried uninstalling iTunes, downloading the 11.2... version available online now, no help. I have tried resetting the ipod, no help. I have tried changing cables, no help. every time I go through the diagnostics in iTunes, it fails the connectivity test and says "No iPod, IPhone, or iPad found.
I am so frustrated. I have tried everything I can think of but even though iTunes shows the iPod, it wont sync....This issue has been resolved - my Support Advisor, Edgar, was able to discern what was causing the problem.
It appears that, despite years of never experiencing this, one of the latest ipod updates actually altered my device's personal settings and changed it to "Manual" for all synchronizing; even performcing Factory Restores did not change it back to being automatic.
My ipod is working as good as ever now thanks to Edgar. If anyone else is having this problem, please make sure you check your device's settings in iTunes and see if "Manual" is checked - even if you never changed the settings yourself and have no reason to suspect that to be the problem, as was the case here. If it is checked - uncheck it to enable automatic syncing.
So relieved this was not a much more serious problem. I've missed having my music on the go. Thanks, Edgar! -
My photos will not sync to my Apple TV (1st generation), ipad, iphone, or itouch. They used to be there but upon recent syncs with all devices they have all gone. I am totally baffled as I have not changed settings?
I had the same thing happen to me. It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library". This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty. Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing. Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices. If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
I spent an hour with an Apple Genius. he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system. His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system. I suspect that this won't solve it.
The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue.
