Changed my apple id, now my icloud preferences won't update.

I am prompted for my password, but the ID is incorrect. Not sure how to change my ID in icloud now.

To change the ID at system preferences > iCloud, you will need to sign out and then enter the correct ID.

  • I changed my Apple ID. now no icloud

I changed my Apple ID and now icloud wants the password from the old ID, which no longer works. I've tried the new password too. icloud gets caught in a loop and won't let me exit the screen...

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Change your ID back (My Apple ID), delete the iCloud account from your device, change the ID back again to what it is now, log in on your phone using your new ID.

i got an ipad the other day and changed my apple id on both my iphone4 and ipad, now my icould no longer works due to the fact my old id is still programmed into icould. how do i reset this?

Well, you're gonna have to recover the password for that Apple ID:

  • I changed my apple ID email and my apps won't update because it keeps using my old AppleID email

I only changed the email address so I could actually receive my email receipts etc.
I also changed it on my icloud account and deleted the old AppleID. It has changed on everything except when I go to update my apps it always pulls up my old AppleID. Even when I put in the password it says it is wrong. I have tried resetting it but it also states that my information on file is wrong.
Really not sure what to do here.

I didn't generate a new appleID. I changed the email on my apple ID so now it won't even recognize my old ID or password. I tried restting m\y password but it said my birthday didn't even match and I asked to send an email to reset the password on my old account but I have yet to receive an email. I get that i need to log into the old account, thats fine, the issue is that even doing that won't work and I didn't change the password on the old account so I don't know WHY it is not being accepted.

  • I changed my Apple ID, now I can't login to iCloud because it still has my old Apple ID and the password no longer works to log me in. How can I get back into iCloud so that I can switch off Find my iPhone so I can make these changes? Thank you.

  • Changed my Apple ID email, but ICloud does not recognize my new login, only my old one (which is now non-existent) HELP!

Changed my Apple ID email, but ICloud does not recognize my new login, only my old one (which is now non-existent) and requires the password to do anything. Everytime I go onto the ICloud  page it shows my old email and requires the password, but I can't exactly type in a password because that won't work. I can't find a way to change my email or delete ICloud.

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • I changed my apple ID, now iCloud doesn't see my new ID, but won't accept my old password either.

I changed my apple ID, now iCloud doesn't see my new ID, but won't accept my old password either.

I tried that now. I was forced to "delete" everything on the cloud, and now I tried signing in exactly as you described, about 45 mins ago, and I'm still waiting for it to actually sign in.

Had to change my Apple id, now having trouble with email on icloud.
And also receive pop ups that says there is a with problem with photo stream which i can't use, with my operating system

For the ones that give you an option, select the option you want (keep on the Mac or Delete). For the ones that are simply warning you, click on Delete from Mac.
They will all come back when you sign back on, since all you did was change your existing Apple ID to a new email address. It's the same iCloud account, just with a different name.
It's the only way to get your updated ID signed onto iCloud.

  • TS4050 I typed the wrong apple ID and now I have no access to my ICloud. How can I change my apple ID on my Icloud?

I typed the wrong apple ID and now I have no access to my ICloud. How can I change my apple ID on my Icloud?

I have asked for your email address to be edited out. Posting your address in an open thread is a sure way to be bombarded by unwanted email, remember it will be here long after you have resolved your problem, for automated detection software to find.
If you want people to contact you, enable others to see your email address in your profile.
You should be able to change that address at My Apple ID

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • HT204053 I changed my Apple ID and my icloud storage in my IPad was not transferred to my new ID, how can you help me?

I changed my Apple ID and my icloud storage was not transferred to the new one, how can I retrieve it?

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  However, with iOS 7, you must provide the password for the old ID to turn of Find My iPhone before you can delete the account.
If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • HT5625 i changed my apple id, now phone is stuck...

i logged in to myapple on computer and changed my apple id.
now icloud account on my iphone is the old email address.
I  can't delete teh old acccount because i have to enter the password for the old account to turn off find my iphone.
but the old password doesn't get recognized.
how do i get the old icluod account off the phone so i can add the new one?

Basically, you have to sign in under the previous Apple ID, so you can sign out of all the iCloud services that use it.
If that's not working for you read the following:
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
There are three steps, be sure to follow all of them.
The following may help explain the reason this occurred:
Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID
It would be nice if Apple placed more emphasis on this excerpt from Changing your Apple ID
Before you change your Apple ID:
Sign out of all Apple features and services that you use with your current Apple ID.
I interpret that to apply to all your devices - Macs as well as iOS. Signing out of all services on all devices prior to changing one's Apple ID will preclude this problem from occurring.

  • Changing your apple id for your icloud on your iphone

I bought my iphone about 6 months ago and I used my family's apple id for icloud but now I am going to college and think it is a good time to have my own apple id especially because i just bought a new computer and need to use an apple id for that too. I set up a new apple id on my computer and just need to change the apple id on my icloud on my phone. I was wondering if I change my apple id on my icloud on my phone will all my contacts and stuff be erased?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Are your contacts currently just on your phone or part of someone else's iCloud account. Have you enabled iCloud contact syncing under your iCloud account on your computer yet.

  • HT204053 Who can I change my Apple ID on my iCloud on my Mac

Who can I change my Apple ID on my iCloud on my MacBook Pro?

Do you mean that you have another, separate, Apple ID you would prefer to use? If so you need to sign out in System Preferences>iCloud and then sign in with the new ID.
Or do you mean that you want to change the address which forms your Apple ID? You do this at
    http://appleid.apple.com
    - click 'Manage your account' and you can change this address provided that it is not an @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com address - those can't be changed (or changed to), but you can change a non-Apple address to another non-Apple address.

  • I changed my Apple ID for an iphone 4s and need to change the iCloud Apple ID/password.  I am unable to change the Apple ID under the iCloud account information without the password which no longer exists.  How can I update my phone?

I had to change the Apple ID used for my iphone 4s.  How do I change the Apple ID for the iCloud information? - the old Apple ID/password no longer exists and this information is requested to make a change.  I am unable to change the Apple ID for the iCloud account.

Apple IDs never go away, so it still exists.
But lets be clear. You actually stopped using an Apple ID and created a NEW Apple ID. You didn't just change the email address of your Apple ID? That means that all of the music and apps purchased with the old Apple ID will have to be purchased again.
If you really did create a new Apple ID you will need the password associated with the old one to disable Activation Lock. There is no way around this. As I said, the old one still exists. You can use the standard tools to recover the password at https://appleid.apple.com.
