Changed my exchange email on work computer (req. every 3 months), now I can't get past incorrect password error on iPad.
I'm required to change my exchange email password every 3 months on my work computer. Now I can't get past the incorrect email error on my iPad. It won't accept my new or old exchange password and won't let me get past the error to do anything else on my iPad. Hitting cancel doesn't help, the error just comes back a second later, so my iPad is useless for anything else and I can't get to Settings to either enter the new password for the account or delete and re-enter the account. Is there some kind of soft reset I can do? Any other suggestions?
I saw some other posts on the web and completely powered off of the iPad. Then turned it on again and was able to quickly go to Settings and update the password. So this is no longer an issue for me. Just a pain that this is what I'll have to do every three months when I have to change my exchange password again.

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -

You can bypass the password and wipe the drive and return to the original facory installation if the seller included the orginal install DVDs with the Mac mini. If not you will need a retail version of Mac OS X. To boot from the Install DVD restart the mini, immediately slip in the DVD and press and hold the C key.

Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. Hi!I ran into the same problem as a lot of other people seem to have done. I am changing ISP and because of that I have to change my mail address from my 10 year old [e-mail removed for privacy and security] to something else, this time I choose to use an outlook.com address in the hope that I will be able to keep that a bit longer. last week I realized that my skype account had my old expiring address as the primary mail, and that the primary mail was the only mail that skype will use for communication with me - I already had 2 other mail addresses in my skype profile (outlook.com and gmail). The skype account was created last summer using my microsoft account, and the microsoft account is the only means I have for accessing the skype account. So I logged on and opended the profile page, went on to edit the info and marked my outlook mail as the primary, clicked save and got the password question. I entered the password I use for logging on (ie the microsoft account password), but was told that the password was wrong. I tried everything and some more things, I spent 40-50 minutes on a text chat with skype support, only to be told that it can't be done and that the skype account was hard tied to the mail address I had used when creating the account, which I found very strange as I had used my microsoft account. yes, when I created the skype account, the only mail I had connected to the microsoft account was my "[e-mail removed for privacy and security]" mail, but I have since then, without any problems, been able to create an outlook.com address, and have that added, added a gmail account, set the outlook.com as the primary for the microsoft account and remove the "[e-mail removed for privacy and security]" address from the microsoft account. no problem.The problem is actually worse as the mail account will be free for use after april 1, which means that a person claiming that mail address will risk getting extremely confusing mails regarding a skype account they don't have, they will have difficulties creating a skype account of their own, AND they can take over my skype account (as they are the owners of the mail address) and I won't be able to stop them. How is that for security Fortunately I spent 2 more hours and stumbled on the solution This is where a normal scam artist would ask you to click on a link to a web apge that would releive you of all your money, but I won't do that. so, what is going on when you want to change the primary email, why isn't your password accepted??? It turns out that when you create a skype account using your microsoft account (and I guess your facebook account), skype will actually create a "proper" skype user account as well, but they hide it from you, and you won't get a password set for it. It is the password for this "hidden" account you have to enter when you want to change the primary password It turns out that I was also unable to connect my facebook account to my skype account for the very same reason, but here it was more obvious, as I had to enter my skype username and passwor when connecting the accounts, and the microsoft account wasn't accepted there . so what do you need to do? well - those of you who have a smart tv (or some other device) that can't log on to skype using a microsoft account, have already done the work (provided you use that tv/device with skype) you log on to skype and open the account settings page, on the line below "microsoft account [email protected] unlink change microsoft password" you'll see a line saying "TV or Device" or something similar (I have no idea what the english text is) here you have a link you can click on where you will be prompted to enter the password for your "live:username" account. once you have done that you get instructions saying that for smart TVs etc, you enter "live:username" as the skye user and the newly created password as your password.The good news is that you now have 1) the identity of your skype user ("live:" and your name where the user name is the combined string "live:username" which in my case was "live:myname"); and 2) a password that is valid for your skype account. what I did next was open up the profile page, edit the profile, mark the outlook.com mail address asthe primary, click save and when prompted for the password, I entered the password I set in the previous step, and that's it, I now had a new primary mail (I got the confirmation mai sent to the new mail address right after I updated the info in skype). I also successfully removed my soon defunct mail address from the mail address list in my skype account, and I then connected my facebook account to my skype account (using live:myname ase the username and my shiny new password). So at the moment I have three different methods available to me when logging in to skype:- my microsoft account- my skype user (live:myname)- my facebook account.the ONLY thing to be aware of is that the name of the microsoft account, as presented on the account settings page in skype, still is my old [e-mail removed for privacy and security] mail address NOTE that this is a presentation issue only, someone thought that it was a good idea to save the original name of the microsoft account in the skype database and use that for presentation. It is NOT used when logging on, when you log on it will use the UID of you rmicrosoft account. if it disturbs you, you can always disconnect you rmicrosoft account from your skype account and reconnect it, and you should see the current mail address associated with the microsoft account. (this is safe to do because you have at least one other method to log on ) I hope that skype will amend their FAQ with this info. I did enter into a second chat with skype support, explaining what I díd to resolve the problem they failed to solve. so there it at least 2 people at skype support who know how to resolve the problem. -cheers,Anders

Trying to make changes in Terminal but can't get past the password request
I am trying to run Piano Wizard from a managed accout but I get this: Data.pwf missing
I found these FIX instructions on their web site but I can't get it to work....
METHOD1: If you know the password of the owner account of the machine. Please follow only these instructions. The changes outlined below will modify only the Piano Wizard files.
Terminal: (These instructions are for a standard install with the game installed to Applications) refers to the user account that owns the machine – you will have to know the name of this admin user (i.e. bob)
1. Launch Terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
2. "cd /Applications"
3. "su "
4. enter the password and hit enter
5. "chmod -R 755 Piano Wizard.app/"
We are now done - close Terminal by hit COMMAND-Q (Apple-Q) That's it - launch Piano Wizard
When I launch Terminal I get - "computer name":~"admin name"$, I follow steps 1-3 not problem...
I get to step #4, put in my password then I get this "su: Sorry"
Please help, I only know of one password...is there another one somewhere?

Try turning iphone off, then back on. If not, try resetting. Hold home and power button approx 10 seconds until apple appears. Back to app store and click search and look in purchased apps, or just search for your app. Should be able to download, unless it was pulled from the app store, and no longer sold. -

Try this, but if the email address used to send you the notification is the disabled email account, then you will be unable to get the icloud account active again.

I had two iCloud account - one on my iPad set up with Me.com. Its a long story as to why I had two account which I will not the issue. I changed my iPad account to link up with my MacBook Pro account - which is my primary account. After doing this all seemed OK except I could not get y primary iClould email account set. When I tried to add my primary iClound email account it only allows you to add a NEW iClould account which is not what I want.

In my iCould account everything works except Mail - that being contacts, calendar, reminders, etc. When it comes to mail it is currently OFF. When I turn it ON, it states that I need to create a NEW free iClound account, and allowing me to establish my existing account.
When I tried your solution, it stated that the account already exists but in reality it is not on my iPad.

Hi there I have been trying to help a friend work out why she hasn't been able to access itunes on her home computer for 3 months as it comes up with the following error "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later"
I have cleared her crache and dissabled firewalls still no luck. Then I tried logging in with my id and to our surprise it worked. So any assistance would be great. Please find the report below maybe you can help!

The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

I have lost my password and the DVD is not working on my old mac desktop G4 500mhz. I have tried use the boot up disk to change the admin password. But the DVD did not work. ( I did not touch this machine for years.) But i need retreive something , so I have tried the shell script in the terminal
1. fsck-y and the mount-uw to try to change and find the service directory's plist to change the password. But after I get the mount -uw, it show illegal option message.
What I can do now to solve this problem? in shell script or any other way?

A DVD drive that is not working after many years not used:
most probably dust on the little laser lens.
Take the drive out and if you can reach this lens: clean it with pure alcohol on Q-Tip.
Many people throw away cd or dvd players all the time because they stopped working, and very often it can easily be fixed by cleaning this lens.
I used to have a G5, where I couldn't access that lens. It was very sensitive to dust.
I have fixed it several times with compressed air. One time I didn't have canned air, but a bikepump did the trick.
If you have another mac, I'd try to access the G4 internal disk with firewire target disk mode.

While using my Hotmail, I changed the view to 'full screen', which meant I lost the Firefox Menu Bar at the top, including my Bookmarks which I use quite regularly. I don't know how to go back to my regular screen the Firefox Menu Bar, including my Bookmarks. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Help? New iPad2 exchange email was working. Now won't download email and existing emails disappearing - newest disappearing first. Can connect to web. And my windows computer connects fine to exchange server. What's going on?
Actually all are affected, but i manage to solved it running Virtual test version to trace the issue and finally able to fix it. Thanks for asking.

Adobe reader and exchange email not working after update
I updated to Safari 5.1.1 and Security Update 2011-006 via Software Updates today.
This rendered my .PDF plugin completely useless so I uninstalled that and tried the built in version, which works for all form input but will not allow me to submit the form!
Also my exchange email quite working.
I have deadlines I NEED to get done using in browser .PDF support w/ the ability to submit.

I came across this issue today. Email appears to be sent but nothing shows up in the sent items or the recipient mailbox. I powered off and on the iphone and tried to send again and this time got a message sending error and it kept retrying. I went into the advanced settings of the exchange email account and turned S/MIME on and the email got sent. I then turned S/MIME off again and emails continued to be sent normally. -

I'm sorry you're having issues with your e-mail account on your phone Rusty1112. Let's figure out what's going on. First, please try deleting account/information again and then restart phone. When phone is back on, try adding e-mail account again, and be sure you're entering exactly as you set up, meaning its case-sensitive. If you're still getting same error, please let us know and let us know what e-mail account it is, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, etc.
