Changed my pc and don't want to loose my contacts
I've just changed my pc and i'm affraid to sync with another computer because of my contacts. if i do it, won't i loose all my phone numbers?? if i connect the iphone to the new computer, will it sync with the outlook data in the new computer?
If you have Outlook 2003 or 2007 available on the computer and it includes contact info, you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync, which you want to select. The same applies to syncing calendar events with Outlook.
If Outlook on the new computer does not include any contact info or calendar events, before the first sync enter one contact in the Outlook address book and one calendar event in the Outlook calendar. Make these up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync, which you want to select.
Outlook also includes an option to forward all contacts as separate vCard attachments to an email message. With Outlook on your old computer, you can send this email to yourself - to the email address for an email account that you access with Outlook on the new computer. Save the attached vCard files from the received message to a folder created on the Desktop. Use the Outlook contact import feature navigating to the folder on the Desktop where all vCard files are stored.

My battery drained. Pluged in to wall but screen shows battery with red line but doesn't seem to be recharding after 20 min. Should I wait longer or do a hard restart? I haven't backedup in ages and don't want to lose pics, contacts etc. Will a hard restart wipe all that out?

-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.

Interesting would be to configure the serial port to accept not one but two termination characters. The above links refers to the document "Developer Zone Tutorial: Termination Characters in NI-VISA.", where this is supposed to be possible. The document however is 404'ed.

I have just bought a new pc with windows 7 my old computer cannot be started so I cannot deauthorise it etc, how do I now put my iphone 4 on my new computer, I don't care about the songs I have those on external hard drive, but I don't want to loose my contacts, calenders etc

Plug your iPhone 5 into your Leopard Machine.
Fire up iPhoto.
The phone should become available in iPhoto, and then you can import the camera roll.

I Had to reinstall windows on my computer. I made sure all my songs etc were on my iPods/iPad. Now when I plug the iPod in it says (in iTunes Match) that my music library will be deleted and replaced by what is in the cloud. However I don't want those songs erased. I want them to go up to the I tunes match cloud.
so that I can down load them again.
also how do I get I tunes match to remember my playlists? It only has album etc.

Last week my 5th generation ipod touch dropped face down onto the ground. When picked up the screen was black and did not turn back on. I tried to connect it to the laptop but it did not recognize the ipod. Also when it is plugged into the laptop the area by the camera gets warm like it is charging. But still has a black screen. I've tried to reset and count to 10, but nothing happends. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Or is it completely dead? Somebody, anybody please help.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Roaminggnome's answer is neither strictly accurate nor is it especially helpful. There exist a number of third party applications that are neither supported nor endorsed by Apple, but that once installed on your new MacBook will allow you to download your files from your iPhone. Just Google "back-up music from iPhone" and you should get a range of products to choose from.
And after you've bought and downloaded one of them and restored your iTunes content, go an buy an external drive to back-up your iTunes library -

Ok, I'm sure a lot of people claim this, but I'm really just trying to help a friend.
They bought a new Windows7 PC and we transferred over all their info from their old WinXP box. Apparently not all of the songs transferred, and none of the playlists transfer. They do have all their stuff on an iPod touch, but when we hook that up it wants to transfer from PC to iPod, is there a way to back up the ipod and get the apps/calendar/songs/etc off the iPod?
They do have a backup of the iTunes folder from the old PC and the folder under c:\document and settings\user\application data\iTunes\.The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You can type "move itunes library" or similar into the google search bar for instructions on moving the entire itunes library ( playlists and all) from the old computer to the new one.
You should also move contacts/calendars from the old computer to the new one. -

OS X Lion. 10.7. Your profile says your running 10.6.8, which is Snow Leopard. You need 10.7 to use iCloud with your Mac.

Your old computer has died, but surely, since it contained nonrecoverable music, you've made a backup.
Simply move the contents of the iTunes folder in your computer's backup to the iTunes folder on your new computer. You should then be good to go. -
Want to change me password for my Apple ID on I cloud. I am doing this on my Mac but going into I cloud on Safari. I can sign in ok, but when I go to password change, it wants me to answer 2 security questions, I don't know the answers to these. If you don't have an icloud account, then icloud is not the thing that's popping up a window.
If you are being asked to enter a password when accessing itunes, then the problem may be that you have purchased items (apps, songs, etc) on the device that were purchased using a different itunes account than the one you currently have defined on your device.
Purchased items are forever associated with the itunes account (the apple ID) that was used to make the purchase. If you change the ID on the device, you won't be able to update any of them. You'll have to purchase them again. -
Tried to use Iphoto and was told I needed upgrade. Try to install upgrade . Upgrade should take an hour if photo library is large. It's now close to three hours and still upgrading. Can't use Iphoto and don't want to stop if still upgrading...3hours??
You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).

Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. I want to cancel my CC account and don't want to chat or talk to anyone about it. I just want it done. NOW and for ever. I am fed up clicking and paging through loops, and I'm not even sure this Adobe method is legal in Canada. I was able to subscribe easily online, why should it be any more difficult to cancel it. So, I did not mean to hurt anyone's feeling but I wanted to be back to the point: how do I cancel my membership without phoning or chatting with a CSR (Customer Service Representative)? I am in month 12 of a yearly subscription I should have cancelled in the first 30 days.
I signed in, went to «manage plan», was presented with «Cancel Plan» as the only option and clicked it. I expected a pop-up box with perhaps the surcharge warning and an (optional) reason-for-leaving survey, but instead was instructed to phone or chat and blah blah blah, hence my participation in this forum because there is no way to escalate any demand within Adobe's system. Believe me, they should already know why I'm leaving. I have been vocal enough.
I want to take my money elsewhere, as a vote for perpetual software licenses, a vote against their rent-a-software policy. I have answered the many surveys they sent me this year and to sum up my thoughts on the matter, none of their changes have improved my experience. CC f***ed up my system and my CS6 setup the moment I installed it. I have honoured my engagement and stuck with them for the year, giving them a chance to win me over. Adobe failed miserably and I don't want to talk to them about this anymore. Every time they bully me into doing things their way, I get more aggravated and it reminds me of the arrogance of Quark that pushed me to InDesign, into the Adobe-only fold, many years ago. I have used their products since the original Photoshop and Illustrator 88 and, back then, I could get answers even from Chuck Geschke himself. Now, management is invisible, intangible, out of reach, and out of touch. I don't think I owe them anything.

I understand your position, just as I assume John meant well when he sent his link. Following the link just sent me spinning in another endless loop with no joy at the end, but it's not John's fault. Adobe designed it that way. I'll probably end up having to do as I'm told, but I hope enough people will question this and, in turn, force Adobe back to a democratic transparent process. I recently purchased a song from itunes and when the song downloaded, it deleted/removed my entire song library. Only leaving the one song.
My photos and aps are still there, but no songs. Anyone ever encounter this and how do you fix it? I don't want to loose my songs as some are not in MY itunes library. HelpIf the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.
