                    BY PUTTING AN OTHER 4 GB RAM...TOTAL 8 GB RAM...IT'S WORKING WELL NOW...
                   FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM "SLOW APERTURE WITH LION" IT'S
                   WORTH CONSIDERING UPGRADING YOUR RAM...

OWC does a good job of keeping track of max RAM amounts for Mac models.
It appears that you should be able to get at least 6 GB in your 2011 White MacBook. Well worth getting to 8 GB (or 6 if that's the limit), imho.

I just tried a test library, re-imported fresh images from a hard drive, and the date changes still revert.
So neither your external drive nor your Aperture library are to blame.
What do you mean test in a different user acct? Would it be a good idea to uninstall and re-download aperture 3?

To test, if some settings in your user account are faulty or preferences files corrupted, it helps to create a new user account from the "Users&Groups" System preferences. With a brand new user account you can see, if something in your current account is causing this.
Should you see, that Aperture is not even working from a new and clean account, I'd reinstall Aperture, and if need be the Operating system. Are you using any plug-ins?

For the record, I did create a new project with only two slides to try and duplicate the issue. I had the same problem. I unchecked the Mouse Click Sound check box, republished and the slide auto advanced. I'm wondering if a default sound file was somehow moved or deleted? I discussed uninstalling and reinstalling C7 onto my laptop, but that's a frustrating solution haha

The language of the menus is usually set in the OS System Prefs. What do you have set at "System Preferences→Language & Text→Language"?

When Windows 8.1 wakes up from sleeping, the PAC Proxy can't work normally

I'm using Toshiba WT8 Win8 Tablet.
When my tablet waked up from sleeping, the PAC Proxy can't normally work on the Modern UI IE, when I reconnect the WiFi, it will be ok without any other action.
Windows 8.1 and all drivers are up-to-date. No any anti-virus software.

According to your another thread, your current Tablet system is Windows 8.1, isn't it? When this probelm occurs, could desktop IE works properly using PAC Proxy?
In addition, open Device Manager to check Wireless adapter driver settings, make sure " Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power " is unchecked.

Aperture will use the language the System Preferences are set to in the "Language & Text" Pereferences, but it will not support all languages. Spanish is not yet supported, sorry. It should be!

Aperture slow on desktop, faster on laptop

Hey all, I have Aperture installed on both my laptop (2GHz Intel Core Duo MacBook, 2 gigs of DDR2 RAM, running OX 10.4.11), and on my desktop (Dual 2.7GHz G5, with 8GB of DDR RAM). Both versions of Aperture are 2.11.
On my laptop, everything runs fine, with the expected slowing down during editing, but my desktop has not been able to hack it whatsoever. Unfortunately, I can't remember at what point in time this problem cropped up, but it's become so bad that I can't use it at all if I want to get anything done.
I'm a bit of a newbie at all this, but as an example, when I change the levels on an image, there will be approximately 1-3 seconds of lag, then the fans in the desktop will spin up, another 3 seconds of lag, then the change will go through. If I try to make another alteration after that, the time will increase, and I have seen it where it has done nothing whatsoever for a solid 15 seconds with the fans spinning at what sounds like near max capacity. I looked at the processes when this is happening, and Aperture spikes to 160% (compared to say 8% for iTunes running in the background.)
This happens regardless of how many applications are running, and so I was hoping for a spin in the right direction. The albeit brief searches regarding slow downs tended to be answered with "Aperture is a beefy program, you need some muscle to deal with it," but I feel that this desktop should certainly be able to hack it!
Any help is greatly appreciated!

that's a nice tower rig u have.
aperture will tax ur system more than other apps. what graphic card do you have on ur tower? when was the last time u cleaned the inside of the tower? last time you put your system in "safe mode" and while in safe mode repaired permissions?

In script u can't change the value in debigging. Open ur print program(If u don't know check TNAPR table).
Search for the element name where u r printing this variable. U can see some thing like
CALL FUNCTIOn 'WRITE_FORM'
element = ur element name.
Keep break point here and when u issue output control stops here. Now change the value as we does in normal reports.

After I installed 10.8.4, my Internet browsing slowed down to the pace of a dial-up connection -- unless it froze up completely. How do I get my system back to a normal operating mode? Can I dump 10.8.4 and go back to the one that at least worked?

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them.
1. Have you restarted your router and broadband modem since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
2. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they also slow?
3. What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
4. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they also slow?
5. If you can test Safari on another network, is it slow there too?
6. If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

It sounds like you are seeing some odd performance issues with Logic Pro X. I recommend these troubleshooting steps specifically from the following article to help troubleshoot what is happening:

Verify that your computer meets the system requirements for Logic Pro X

Test using the computer's built-in audio hardware
If you use external audio hardware, try setting Logic Pro X to use the built-in audio hardware on your computer. Choose Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio from the main menu and click the Devices tab. Choose the built in audio hardware from the Input Device and Output Device pop-up menus. If the issue is resolved using built-in audio, refer to the manufacturer of your audio interface.
Start Logic with a different project template
Sometimes project files can become damaged, causing unexpected behavior in Logic. If you use a template, damage to the template can cause unexpected results with any project subsequently created from it. To create a completely fresh project choose File > New from Template and select Empty Project in the template selector window. Test to see if the issue is resolved in the new project.
Sometimes, issues with the data in a project can be repaired. Open an affected project and open the Project Information window with the Project Information key command. Click Reorganize Memory to attempt to repair the project. When you reorganize memory, the current project is checked for any signs of damage, structural problems, and unused blocks. If any unused blocks are found, you will be able to remove these, and repair the project. Project memory is also reorganized automatically after saving or opening a project.
Delete the user preferences
You can resolve many issues by restoring Logic Pro X back to its original settings. This will not impact your media files. To reset your Logic Pro X user preference settings to their original state, do the following:
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
If you have upgraded from an earlier version of Logic Pro, you should also remove~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro.
Restart the computer.

Reinstall Logic Pro X
Another approach you might consider is reinstalling Logic Pro X. To do this effectively, you need to remove the application, then reinstall Logic Pro X. In the Finder, choose Applications from the Go menu.
Locate the Logic Pro X application and drag it to the trash.
Open the Mac App Store
Click the Purchases button in the Mac App Store toolbar.
Sign in to the Mac App Store using the Apple ID you first used to purchase Logic Pro X.
Look for Logic Pro X in the list of purchased applications in the App Store. If you don't see Logic Pro X in the list, make sure it's not hidden. See Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases for more information.
Click Install to download and install Logic Pro X.

Is there a way to change the image numbers in a file in Aperture?

Is there a way to change the image numbers in a file in Aperture? We shoot with two photographers and so the img numbers are not in order but I would like to have the photos in chronological order on the disc when I give it to them. Does anyone know how to do this? I have them all in order ready to go in Aperture but when I move them to the disc to be burned they default back to the img number order. Thanks for your help!

What do you mean by "image number"? The file names like "IMG_7822.CR2" or "IMG_7822.jpg"?
You can create custom names with appended numbers, when you export your image files to be saved on a disk.
Sort your images by date in the browser, select them, then use the command "File > Export > Version" to write the files to the disk. Set the name format to "Custem Name with Index" or "Custom Name with Counter" to create numbered names in your current sort order.

I think your VI works and if I understand what your input data looks like and the output that you want is, does it?I really can't see a better way. Does it not work for what you want? What form is the actual data in as you receive it? (not how it is displayed by the display setting of the string control) You have the string control set the “Hex display” and that may be confusing some of us as to what the actual input data is.
And what you want your output to look like. Do you get a “stream” of bytes that are the actual numbers in the form of a string?or Do you get a “string” of ASCII char that represent numbers?
These are two different things, but may look alike depending on the display setting of your controls are set.
Changing the display mode of a control or indicator does not change the under lying data. It only changes the way your eye “see” it, not how LabVIEW “sees” it. We need to know what your raw input string looks like.
tbob's snipit assume your data is one way and your VI assumes another.

Possible To Change The Colour Of A Theme Template For A Book - Aperture

I am using Aperture 3 and would like to make a photo book for a recent trip, combined with including the text of a blog I wrote during the journey.
I like the journal theme that now exists in Aperture theme layouts, but I'd like to change the "bark" colour to a specific yellow that was used for all of the promo literature for the event. Is it possible at all, or am I limited to the few colours on the dropdown list?
If it isnt possible, do you have any other ideas about how else I could achieve this? I have looked at some of the plug ins available and can only see a few that are either too "upmarket" for the job at hand, or also dont allow to change the background to a specific rgb colour.
Any ideas anyone?

There may be a much easier way to do this.
The color information is stored in separate plists for the large and extra-large books. The plist files are at, for example:
+/Applications/Aperture.app/Contents/Resources/Book Themes/Photo Journal/Extra Large/Backgrounds+
You can edit the plist to show whatever color you want.
