Changed to bt,told my socket would be sorted

Question

Well we just changed over from talktalk to BT,and while i was signing up we said we think are master socket mite be broke and its allso very old,"we was getting phone cuts and broadband cuts with talk talk".its so old it dont even have a test socket lol,how would bt "sort" this? allso i tryed to sign up useing my new bt internet email on this forums and i never got the verify email.

try the quiet line test  dial 17070 option 2  should hear nothing  best done with a corded phone.
if you can hear hiss or crackle on your line then report a phone fault NOT a broadband fault by dialling 151.  Fixing the fault will more than likely result in a new master socket and if you are lucky maybe filtered faceplate
