Changed to Uverse from DSL, TC won't work

We recently switched our home business network from AT&T DSL service to Uverse. I can't get the Time Capsule to stop flashing amber. I have tried to configure it through our computers (including while directly wired from the Uverse router) and they simply won't recognize the TC. Can I plug it in direct to a Max via the TC USB port and configure it that way?

No, this will not work.
Whenever you make a major change on a network....like changing a modem.... you will need to perform a Factory Default Reset on the TC to get it back to a known starting point, and then recconfigure it again. This Apple support document has all the details on how to perform the Factory Default Reset:

Once the TC has been reset, connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the Uverse router to the WAN "O" port on the TC and then reconfigure it again using AirPort Utility on your Mac. You can use the same device name and passwords for the TC as before if you wish.

I changed internet providers from DSL to cable and I have a Linksys E2000 router. Now, none of my wireless devices will connect---doesn't even show my network in the list of available networks. I have 2 laptops, PS3, and Xbox's that I have wireless. The weird thing is---my MacBook connected flawlessly so I know the router is working. What is going on?

look in the router basic the on the web UI. what do you see for the parameters?
what service provider are you with?
what modem do you use?

RoboHelp for Word installed from RoboHelp 10 won't work with Word 2010

I have a Help project created in RoboHelp for Word 8. I recently upgraded from Word 2007 to Word 2010 and discovered that RH8 for Word won't work with Word 2010. So I purchased RoboHelp 10 and have installed RoboHelp for Word from it. Alas, RH for Word STILL won't work with Word 2010. When I try to open my project, I get this message:
Before I bought RH10, I live-chatted with an Adobe sales person who assured me it was compatible with Word 2010.
BTW, I tried to roll back to Word 2007, but I was getting weird behavior running Word, so I have reinstalled Word 2010 and want to stay there.
Any ideas?

I have just installed Rh10 for Word on a new machine and initially I got this message.
I wonder if you have followed those instuctions? I changed the setting to Enable All.
The other possibility is what do you have set for the default version? If it is 2007 and that no longer exists on your machine, then Rh will not be able to proceed. The dropdown should show 2010

Ringtones from VZW tones won't work

When I purchase ringtones on my phone from VZW tones they work at first and are listed under ringtones. Then they somehow get moved to the music file instead of ringtones and when you click "set as ringtone" it will let you choose this, but when you get down to the "try it" button you get an error message. I have spend a lot of $$$ on ringtones and am very frustrated they won't work. What is the problem and how can I fix this??? When I click on Manage ringtones in VZW tones there are instructions for making one your default ringtone, but they won't automatically set it, so this doesn't work either.

Why pay for ringtones when you can download for free practically any song you can think of on the largest BB fan site?

My iPhone 4 broke so I had to buy a new one. I backed up the old one on iTunes and when I went to restore the new one it won't allow me to because it is saying that I have the wrong password. I tried changing the password and it still won't work. HELP!

If you can't get the password correct, you CANNOT restore from that backup.
However, if you've been using your phone as recommended by Apple, there should be minimal data loss.
Your iTunes library is on your computer, so you can synch all your apps, music, movies, ringtones, etc, on to your new phone.
Similarly, contacts should be synched to Address Book, Outlook, or a cloud service for you to easily synch back to your new phone.
Pictures taken from your old phone and not synched to your computer are lost, but you would have been synching those photos to your computer frequently as recommended. Other photos that you synch TO your iPhone are still on your computer.
You won't be able to get text messages back.

Disc image file exported from Encore CS4 won't work

I have a problem concerning the export of a disc image file in Encore CS4. I recently upgraded to CS4 and wanted to continue my project which I started editing with CS3. While working with CS3 I already did image files from this project for burning and testing the DVD. Back then it worked with no problems.
However, since using the CS4 version Encore does the image without any problem, but I can't use the image file in any way afterwards. I mounted it with Daemon Tools as I did before, but the DVD won't play in any software DVD player I have installed (Media Player Classic, Windows Media Player, Nero Showtime) nor can I access the file structure over a file manager. Nevertheless NeroInfoTool and ImgBurn say there is a DVD in the virtual drive. Then I exported the DVD project into a folder and now I can see the files in the file manger but again no player will play it.
Has anyone experienced this before and is able to help? It would be very appreciated since I don't want to downgrade back to CS3 :-)
It's Encore CS4, Version 4.0.1.048 on a 2,8 GHz HT CPU, 2 GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 6800 UT, lots of HDD space, XP + SP3.

thank you both. As I said no player accepts the project exported to a folder. It doesn't matter if I point the player to the video_ts.ifo or just the folder - it won't play. As a consequence I re-installed Encore CS3 in which exporting worked fine and guess what - the exported image and folder output doesn't work either. Since it worked before in CS3 it comes down to the conclusion that either I did some editing to the project that screwed the project or Encore CS4 did. Checking for mistakes in the project and previewing in inside CS4 everything seems fine. So might it be CS4 that ****** up the project file??? I mean it's full of strange bugs so it could easily be that. I even updated my Daemon Tools yesterday and it won't make a difference.
Or could it be something else I haven't considered yet? Any ideas? I just don't want to build the whole project again which might not even work if it's some other error. This is a desperate call for help

HT1212 I din't change my passcode but now it won't work,how do i fix this?

i have never changed my passcode and i just tried to use my phone and repeatly told me my passcode was incrrect and locked me out each time. I definately didn't change it and i have never logged onto a computer so i don't know how to reboot it. What should i do?

Restore failed to provide all the applications and data. Took the mini to Apple genius today. They reinstalled OSX (same as I had done) then confirmed that the applications were not backed up to time machine...they will be in the future. After reloading each individual application they now work as expected and all the data seems to have been restored. Except the Reunion files which were near and dear. These are gone forever. Somehow, perhaps through my negligence, the 'GED' files were not stored in a "Reunion" folder and were not backed up...much like the apps. Now I'm trying to recover the files from the crashed drive.

Setup.exe from Boot Camp won't work with Windows Xp Home SP2

I just bought the great MacBook Pro. So I work over years in Windows it's absolutliy necessary to migrate my old System to MacBook. I succeeded in cloning my old installation completly to the MacBook and Windows is activated. when I start windows, of course no MacBook drivers are installed, so I have only a minimum of functionality. Now I want to start the BootCamp to install the drivers. But if I start "Setup.exe" it's ending immediately with: There were errors... before Boot camp could be initialized.
I downloaded the newest BootCamp (3.1) and start it, the program crashes!
I can't get it working!!! What have I to do - please help me!

If you didn't try installing Boot Camp from your OS X disc, try that first.
From what you wrote it sounds like you somehow cloned your old install of windows over to a fresh partition. Depending on how you did this, the problem might lie here.
First, what version of OSX are you running?
If your MacBook Pro is new, it should come with Snow Leopard, which wouldn't explain the problem.
How exactly did you clone windows over?
Depending on how you cloned windows, your easiest solution might be to back up any files and applications you need from windows, remove the current Windows partition, and create a new partition and installation of Windows through Boot Camp on OSX. Normally Boot Camp should install its drivers after a successful installation of Windows.

Had a trial version, now trying to install full version from disk and won't work

I am now trying to install a full version of Aperture 3.0 from a disk after having a trial version downloaded a few months ago. Everything goes fine until I click on the icon after installation. A box comes up asking for serial number to upgrade the trial version, but says that it is invalid after I enter it. Product was purchased directly from Apple, so it is a valid disk. I have deleted all the accompanied files that I can find that were on the computer prior to having the full version. What else should/can I do to get this to work?

And afterwards open a terminal window (the Terminal is in Applications -> Utilities)
and type the following command:
sudo pkgutil --forget com.apple.pkg.Aperture
You will need to enter your admin password.
Then try again to install your boxed Aperture 3 version.

WRT-54GL: DSL Modem won't work in Internet port, but works in other ethernet ports. Help?

To begin, IP addresses for ALL devices on my network are static and manually assigned, no DHCP, in case that matters at all. My problem is that when I plug my DSL modem into the Internet port on the back of my router it doesn't even see the modem and obviously I can't get on the internet. However, I can plug the modem into any of the other Ethernet ports on the router and it sees the modem just fine and I can use the internet. I don't quite understand this. It hasn't caused any problems at all, but I find it strange. This problem has existed with both the stock firmware as well as Tomato firmware. What can I do to get my modem to work through the Internet port instead of the regular ethernet ports? Please take into consideration that I am using the latest Tomato firmware. Thanks all!

Press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. The Power light will start flashing. Turn the Router and the Modem OFF. Turn the modem ON first, wait for 10 seconds, turn the router ON, wait for 10 seconds, you should be ONLINE !!!

Phone crashed, re set to factory settings now iMessage from phone number won't work

So my iPhone 5s had some sort of mini crash and long story short it went into recovery mode when I plugged it in to my Macbook. I had to reset the phone to factory settings and go through that entire to-do. After restoring my phone, I thought every thing was working fine and imessage was working as well. But then someone tells me that they can't send me imessages to my phone number but instead have been texting me through my email address connected to my apple ID.
I go into settings and messages, imessage was turned on and I looked at the send and receive section. However there is no send section, just a "you can be reached at" section. My email address is checked and my phone number is faded (and unclickable) and does not have a check mark next to it. I've tried turning imessage on and off, obviously, but it tells me there is a problem activating imessage (although when I hit ok it continues to wait for activation). I'm not sure if this detail is important but I am currently abroad and connecting over wifi (which is extremely strong). When I go into imessage on my laptop , my number isn't listed at all as well.
Someone please help. I am currently abroad for another week and imessage is very important for contacting people back home. Thank you.

iMessage activation requires an SMS to be sent to the Apple Servers in the UK. IF you do not have a cellular connection, that could answer why it is not activating. You can check this support document for help with activation of iMessage. iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
If you are using Wi-Fi only, that would also explain why it would not be activating the phone number.

Keyword problem - assigned kw from earlier versions won't work in 1.3

All of my images are organized by keywords and I've just noticed that most of the keywords assigned in earlier versions of LR are not working. The keyword palette is there, it says there's x amount of photos with each keyword, a thumbnail displays in the navigator window but nothing shows up in the main Library view. I get the message "no photos match this filter".
Any ideas? I really don't want to have to go through and re-keyword everything.
I have tried optimizing the db, and also selected all photos and hit Ctrl-S to write metadata and still no go.

What error is it giving you and double check if your entering the correct password and the email address is also correct.

Tv from Sky app won't work on ps3

The tv sky app crashes my PS3 every time I try to run it. I've installed it a number of times but each time with the same result.
When I launch the app the screen goes black and the hdd light flashes for a few seconds then the screen remains black and te PS3 becomes unresponsive.
Is anyone else having the same problem? Or know a fix. Cheers.

Every time I use the app when I am finished I get 3 beeps the my PS3 just crashes I have 2 ps3s and it's the same for both any ideas on how to fix this I reset one PS3 back to factory and tried it and still the same result
