  • Problem installing wiki on Leopard server

    Hello.
I have a website to which I want to add a wiki. Have eanbled the wiki feature on server admin. Enabled the open directory service. Created a group on user admin on which selected the website and enabled the wiki and blog services. Restarted the web service and the groups page on the wiki page shows the group I created. But the group link leads to a 404 page. I checked the contents of the default wiki path ("Library/Collaboration') and there is nothing there about the group I created.
    What could be wrong ?

I have had the same problem!
    1. I setup a group in workgroup manager.
    2. Enable the following service for this group on: (server IP address)
    3. Checked wiki and blog
    4. Checked web calendar
    5. Allow (authenicated users) to write services
    6. Allow (anyone) to view these services
    7. Save
    8. Refresh
    9. Get severly frustrated at seeing:
    a. Enable following services for this group on: (None)
    b. Website Showing "No available groups." under the groups tab
    P.S.: in server admin:
    a. Server ---> Web ---> Sites ---> Site ---> Web Services
    -Services for Groups
    )Wiki and blog - checked
    )Web Calendar - checked

  • Documentation for oracle webcenter wiki and blog server 10.1.3.2.0

    Hi
Can anyone tell me where I can get the documentation for oracle webcenter wiki and blog server 10.1.3.2.0. I am specifically interested in this version and not the latest version Oracle® WebCenter Wiki and Blog Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.4.0) because I have heard the older version provided out of the box portlets for creation of blogs.
Since we want blogs very fast, I want documentation of this older version.
Can anyone point them out to me as soon as possible please

You can find the demo portlets here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/owcs_10132_demos.html#wiki_blog_disc_samples
I do not believe there were any portlets provided with the earlier release.
Anyway what i think is it should not take you more than a few hours to integrate blogging functionality if you are using the Connection & Task flows provided by WebCenter.

  • Can I have multiple/separated secure sites/wikis on one server?

I would like to host several secure wikis on my one iMac running OS X Server (10.8).  I've got the hostname for the primary domain and all of the virtual, primary domains good to go.  It's serving out a secure wiki on servername.domainname.com, which I am also able to access through https://www.domainname.com and/or https://www.otherdomainname.com.  If I replace "domainname" with any of my virtual domains it takes me to the default (hostname) primary domain's secure wiki.  But what I'd really like to be able to do is have multiple such wikis, separated by the different domain names.  Is this possible and how?
What I've tried, but does not achieve the desired effect is: creating a SSL enabled site.  Doing that actually makes it impossible to get into the default (hostname) primary domain's secure wiki.
I do have PHP and Python enabled, if that helps at all.
    Thanks in advance.

    Mark23,
Thanks for the help.  I see what you're saying.  As far as I can tell the address would actually have to be:
    https://www.domain2.com/wiki/projects/domain2/domain_2.html
That landing page could be treated as a Table of Contents for all pages attached to it.  You're right, it's not as elegant, but it is workable.  That is, until someone simply clicks on "All Wikis" and is taken to the "Table of Contents" (list of all wikis on SSL site) for domain.com.  Still, it's an option.
I'm going to reply to one of the other options you offered.
Actually, this wouldn't work as a redirect though because I'd lose the public website, wouldn't I?  The redirect would completely bypass the http: website.  Instead, I'd have to just link each of the secure wikis on the public website for each domain.  Then just tell people not to go into the wikis for the other domains.  Setting up groups and permissions could also take care of that, I guess.

  • Is there a way to have a wiki on osx server where users can be created at first logon? (for a semi-public wiki)

    Hello,
I am installing an osx server that will be primarly used as a wiki for collaboration.
Problem: there will be many users from various organisations -> creating users manually on the server is not an option.
Is there a way to have a page/something where users will login and the account will be created at first logon? (after being approved if possible).
I'd want my users to go to the wiki and do something like click a "new user" or "create account" button then fill a form. The account in th directory would be then auto magically created.
Does this feature already exist for osx server with the built-in wiki?

Just generate the TTS on a separate slide and then assign the audio file created in the LIbrary to whatever object you need.

  • Wiki and Blog Server

    Hi,
I recently changed the location of the stored files for my web server on leopard. At first, the user blogs were not working but after discovering a permissions problem with the folder on the RAID array that they were on, they began to work.
My problem is that the group wiki and blog services do not work. It seems that the index for the page is created but not the folder for storing the files. Does anyone know of a workaround?
    Thanks

    Hi,
External data stores are easily achieved with the various services running under 10.5 server. A strong requirement is setting the permissions correctly so that the service is able to read and write to the data store. So for instance an external data store for the group service is achieved by
Server -> Web -> Services: Data Store: /Volumes/Collaboration
    Folder Collaboration:
Owner: _teamsserver -rwx, Group: _teamsserver -rwx, Others: -rx
If Collaboration is not at the Volume level then Everyone needs to have access through the directory structure to the directory containing Collaboration.
The user blogs are referenced from the site folder to the user's home folder containing a Sites folder. The access to user blogs is not the same as the access to the group wiki/blogs content.

    Harry

  • Move Wiki from one Server to another

I failed in moving the wiki I programmend and that worked quite well from one 10.5. server to another machine. I copied some stuff from one device to another but obviously not the correct one.
Is there a way to do it automatically or knows somebody which files have to be moved?

    Hello Matthew
You're looking in the wrong spot
First things first - make yourself default sudo with sudo -s then you can forget prefixing it all the time.
If you just use pg_dump then it'll take the command from the /var-Directory - that's the wrong version
You have to specify the path for the Socket where the PSQL-Database for the wiki really is located by using the -h-option - it's not the default
that's why you get the error that role collab does not exist since you're connecting to a database in place where the role collab truy isn't part of it.
So - if you'd like to export the wiki-DB us the following and adapt the filename to what you like it to be.
    bash-3.2# /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/bin/pg_dump -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432 -f /Volumes/USBSTICK/wikidatabase.pgdump -U collab collab
The first block specifies the "not default" pg_dump you'd like to use
The second block (-h "/Library/.....) tells pg_dump where to find the DB
The third block tells pg_dump to use port 5432
The fourth block (-f /Volumes/......) tells pg_dump to place its output into this file
The fifth block (-U collab) tells pg_dump to do this is role collab
The sixth block tells pg_dump from with DB to dump from
In your case extend my provided command with your options --format=c --compress=9 --blobs like this:
    bash-3.2# /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/bin/pg_dump -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432 -F c --compress=9 -b -f /Volumes/USBSTICK/wikidatabase.pgdump -U collab collab
BTW- you can connect to the database, of course:
    bash-3.2# psql -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432 collab collab

  • Migrating wiki from Leopard Server (10.5) to Lion Server

Is there any way to migrate Wiki Server data from Leopard Server (i.e. 10.5 not 10.6) to Lion Server without upgrading to Snow Leopard first. I'm happy to set up everything else afresh but I've migrated wiki data before and it was a nightmare.
The situation we'll soon be in is needing to migrate wiki data on a PowerPC mac running Leopard Server to a new Power Mac pre-installed with Lion Server.

    From: http://images.apple.com/macosx/server/docs/Upgrading_and_Migrating_v10.7.pdf
Need to set up Lion Server first, then:
Copy the wiki data located in /Library/Collaboration/ by default or in the location specified in Server Admin on the v10.5.8 or later server to a local volume Lion Server can access.
Use the following steps to manually migrate your Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later server’s Wiki data to Lion Server.
If you are migrating a v10.5.8 wiki server’s data, make sure Lion Server is bound to the same Open Directory master as the v10.5.8 server, so the ACLs for wikis can convert. If not, wikis are only readable or writeable by admins, and ACLs must be reset.
    To migrate wiki data:
1 Start Wiki service in the Server app.
    2 Enter the following command.
    sudo wikiadmin migrate -r /path/to/collaboration/folder

  • Simple guide to Migrate SL Server Wiki 10.6.8 to Lion Server 10.7.2

These instructions assumes that you already have the Wiki server functional on the new OSX Lion Server 10.7.2 and that you are logged in as a system administrator.
On the SL Server, browse to \Library\Collaboration and right click on the Collaboration folder and click "Get Info"
Scroll all the way to the bottom and expand "Sharing & Permissions"
If the Lock icon shows to be locked, click it and enter an Administrators password associated with the user account you are logged in under.  Make sure the permissions for "Everyone" are set to "Read & Write".  Then click on the small Gear icon below that and select "Apply to Enclosed Items".  It will ask you if you are sure, tell it yes.
Now copy the Collaborations folder to the new Lion Server.  Create the following directory to save the files too.  \myoldwiki  It will probably ask you to authenticate making a new folder at the root of the drive.  So if prompted, tell it to allow and enter your administrator password is prompted.  So now you have \myoldwiki\collaboration at the root of your new lion server.
Open Safari and browse to http://localhost on your Lion Server to verify that your existing server is working.  If you get the "Welcome to OS X Lion Server" page with several icons for My page, Updates, Wikis, People, & Podcasts then your server is working.  If not, see "Setting up OS X Lion Wiki Server".  (An article that has not yet been written-Soon to follow)
If you click on Wikis, and if this is a fresh install, you will not see any wiki pages listed.  On the top right of the web page, click on the + sign to create a new wiki.  You can name it Test Wiki like I did and then create the page.  Once created, go to it to make sure that its there.
Once your new Wiki server is confirmed to be functional, open terminal and enter the following command:
    sudo wikiadmin migrate -r /myoldwiki/collaboration
Then press Enter/Return.  Enter your users password if prompted. (Remember, passwords do not use echo in terminal so you will not see your password as you type it.  Press Enter/Return again and you should see something similar to the following:

Depending on the size of your wiki on SL Server, and depending on how many pages and attachments you have installed on it, this process could take anywhere from several seconds to several minutes.  Also your entry may vary from mine above depending on how many pages you have as well.  I currently only have 6 pages as you can see.  Overall, the end result is what you want to see: "Migration complete".  This is a very good sign.
If you get a lot of errors like i did my first time trying to do this, I found that i forgot to turn on and verify that my new Lion Server web server and wiki page were fully functional prior to starting the migration.  So if you get several errors that look similar to this.......

You need to check your web server and wiki settings again.
Once everything is complete, you will need to go into your Server app on Lion Server and turn off the web server and also the wiki server.  After about a minute or so, restart the web server then the wiki server and give it about 30 seconds or so to completely come back online.  Now browse to http://localhost on the Lion Server and you should once again see the "Welcome to OS X Lion Server" page.  Click on wikis and you should see the list of wikis you imported as well as the test wiki you created earlier.  This will confirm that the files have been truly copied to the proper location for wikis on the new Lion Server.
At this point, your old wiki pages are ready to be used on your new OS X Lion Server.
There is a drawback with this process.  Since you are moving ONLY the wiki database over to the new machine, all of the original users and groups is not transferred.  As you can see i have 6 wikis and 2 users.  This process doe not import the users and their configurations over to the new server.  That process is completed by "Exporting" the "Server Admin Settings" & "Service Settings" from the SL Server "Server Admin" and importing them in the reversed fashion on the new Lion Server using Server Admin on the new server.  This, however, is for another tutorial yet to be written.  Mostly because i have yet to do it.
    Good Luck.....

    Start by reading this: http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/ExtendingYour_WikiServer.pdf
You will create a custom theme. Copy all the .xsl files into your theme folder. Modify default.xsl for most of the sub-level pages. Modify group_listing.xsl for /groups and /users pages. Your server index page is located in Library\WebServer\Documents. Most of what you want to do can probably be done through CSS.
Once your custom theme is finished set it as the default in the Admin Panel.
