Big Colour and detail changes between Original Nikon RAW files and the images created on the Preview page! Yes there are distinct visual changes when I preview my Nikon NEF RAW Files. Please note I do not use iPhoto at all.
If you view it as a contact sheet straight from the original folder there are no alterations but the moment you double click and want to 'Preview' it, this new preview page introduces very noticeable distortions : lighter shading goes missing and colour goes darker e.g orange turns red and mid blue goes deep blue!  Alarmingly the little column on the left of the preview page showing the collection shows the original file colours and then after a few seconds show the new distorted image...you can see this visible change and it takes place after a few seconds once you double click! Also if you use Apple's 'Cover Flow' to preview, this function will replace your original RAW file with the new 'altered preview' image!
I have raised this with Apple but they have yet to reply...has anyone ever experienced this? I have used my Mac book for 18months only noticed it about 5 days ago!
I went to Apple store and we tried it in other laptops and Macs and it happened to all of them so we think this is a software issue and not down to the laptop.
    Any help is much appreciated!

  • Changes between MII 12.0.2 and 12.0.9 (patch 7)

    Hi,
We've upgraded one of our non-production MII environments from MII 12.0.2 (build 88) to 12.0.9 (build 23), and some of our dashboard apps are not working correctly.
One issue that I've tracked down sounds similar to this post: [Re: java.io.EOFException]
But is different.  We have a BLS that has a local property (called Hold_qty) that acts as an accumulator of a QUANTITY value that is returned in multiple rows from the associated SQL query.
Under 12.0.2, Hold_qty is defined with data type String.  There is a repeater, with an assignment that assigns Local.Hold_qty the value of Local.Hold_qty + Order_table.Output(/Row/QUANTITY).   This worked fine on 12.0.2, as the String would be converted to integer automatically (with value 0), then would accumulate the QUANTITY values.
Now in 12.0.9 it is no longer working and the Hold_qty value is NA after the repeater is done.  It seems that MII is no longer converting the string type to integer before attempting the addition, thus the addition is attempted with Hold_qty having string NULL value, instead of integer Zero value.  Because it is null, then MII calculates the result to NA.  The MII manual does state that "Calculations that include null values return a value of NA".
My question, is why did the precedence of type conversion vs. property evaluation change between the versions?  Is this change documented somewhere?  I didn't have very good luck finding a list of changes in all of the versions between 12.0.2 and 12.0.9.  Can someone point out where I can find such a list?  I searched SAP notes and it seems that only some of the SPs between 2 and 9 have Notes but not all of them.
I changed the data type of Local.Hold_qty to Integer in the BLS and now it works correctly on 12.0.9, but I'm still curious as to why the change, as using Strings instead of integers and allowing the type conversion was a recommended approach in at least one post in the past: [Integer with Value of NA??]
    Thank you and best regards!

    Hi Jeremy,
Thank you very much for providing the list of notes - that is VERY helpful.  I reviewed the list and did see a couple that seem to be related to the issue that we are seeing.
    Specifically:
Note 1168706 which is included in SP04.  But this fix seems to imply that what we were doing in SP02 should still work.
Note 1435052 which is SP09 patch 4, says:
"3- In a MII Transaction, if you have an XML Document with a field of type integer, and when you assign it to "nullnumber", it doesn't show up in the Data as "NA". But it displays a number eg. "-2147483648".
This isn't exactly what we are seeing, but seems very closely related, so perhaps the fix for this issue is what is causing our problem?  Perhaps this fix introduced a new bug?
What is the proper means of reporting a potential bug?  Should I wait for confirmation in this forum?
Thank you again so much for your help.  As a final suggestion, since your list of MII releases and the associated SAP Note numbers is so useful, would it be possible for you to create a sticky thread that lists all releases (with associated SAP note numbers)?  Or maybe this is overkill due to the way they are listed in the download section of Service Marketplace?  If so, please disregard.
    Best regards,
    Steve Christensen

  • Sound Quality changes between itunes 8.2.1 and itunes 9.1

I am using itunes and a modified Airport Express as my audio source in my Hifi Stereo system.
It is working so well that I have discarded my high end audiophile CD player.
However I found an issue with itunes consistency from version to version in audio quality.
Here is the experience I conducted:
    Using:
    - a mac mini with Snow Leopard and itunes 8.2.1 and a macbook pro with Snow Leopard and itunes 9.1.
    - Identical Wav (full res 16bit 44.1Khz) files local to each mac.
to be completely accurate the music used was:
Ben Webster Meets Oscar Peterson: T01 The Touch Of Your Lips
Diana Krall Live in Paris: T11 A Case of You
    - in both cases itunes streams to the Airport Express (same one)
-> The result is that the there is a difference in sound between the two itunes, and I would like to understand what changed or why this difference?
If I were to describe the differences I would say that itunes 8.2.1 delivers a softer sound with more medium than itunes 9.1. Itunes 9.1 would have a brighter sound with less medium than itunes 8.2.1.
(On a side note, not relevant for the problem above, but could interest some people: When I access with my mac with itunes 9.1 the itunes 8.2.1 library on the other mac, the sound quality streamed to the AE is poor compared to either itunes version used with local files. I wonder how apple streams the music from one itunes to the next but that music it altered may be compressed in this case.)

    Chris thanks for this answer.
I did check the settings on both Macs/itunes and they are identical. Everything is disabled. The remote volume is also disabled on both.
So the sound quality difference cannot be explained by that.

  • Does the definition of "Execution State" equals "Bad" change between development environment and run-time?

    My basic question is:
If the execution state of vi is "bad" under the development environment, shouldn't it also be "bad" under the run-time environment?
    So here is the background:
So I use SVN and I ran into this problem where I would be working on one piece of code without having my top-level vi open and would inadvertantly break the top-level vi.  And being in hurry or whatever I would not open the top-level vi to check the run arrow and I would check in my code, which of course breaks the top-level vi for everyone else and causes lots of problems.
So to solve this I wanted to create a Tortoise SVN client side hook to check the check the top-level vi(s) to see if the run arrow was broken before I commit my changes.  I'm trying to use the Execution State to check this.  I am using an Equals primitive to compare it to a "Bad" constant. (as a side question is checking the execution state the best way to do this?  or is this even a valid way to do this?  It's the only way I've found so far to check the run arrow.).
So the way I'm going about this is:
    1.  I create a executable (written in LabVIEW) which is run by TSVN
    2.  When TSVN calls it  (I set it up as a start-commit hook) I pass it a parameter which is text file which lists all the top level vi(s)
I do these first 2 steps in order to make it as generic as possible.  I can use it on any project with any number of top-level vis (or dynamically called vis) all I do is point it to a different text file.
    3.  Inside the executable I just read the list of vis, open a reference to each one and check the execution state.  I do this inside a for loop, but keep the references open and close them after the for loop in case they share some subvis or libraries, so they stay in memory (could this be the cause of some of my problems??)
    4.  Then after the for loop executes and the references are closed I simply fire off a popup if any of them are broken.
    5. Then I simply exit LabVIEW to return control to TSVN.
    So my problem is this:
In the development environment everything works as expected.  But when I try the exact  same thing in the executable it tells me the run arrow is broken.
Why the difference?  I'm checking the same list of vis and the runs arrows have not changed, they are still all good.
So it appears that checking the execution state to see if it is bad behaves differently in the run-time versus the development environment.
Can anyone confirm or deny that?
It seems to me that it should behave the same.
The help for the Vi.Exec.State property says that it works in the run-time (Read-only), so why am I getting different results?
On a side question if anyone knows of an easier way to accomplish what I want to do, please let me know. I went this route because I had some experience with writing TSVN hooks and I thought it would be pretty simple and it is if I can get this comparison to behave.

I believe that plugins rely on the libraries being located in a specific location. The installer can place these libraries in the specific location or some other installer can do that. You can create code that scans the library directly to "learn" what packages/libraries are available. Then you would build the path to that VI and open the reference to it.

  • FDF Changes Between Reader 8.2.5 and 9.x

We have a PDF form—served from a networked drive and only used internally—that submits its contents by emailing an FDF. In Adobe Reader 8.2.5, the FDF has the /F flag automatically set to the location of the PDF form. In Reader 9.x, the /F is no longer set, and, as such, when the recipient of the FDF double-clicks the file to open it, s/he receives the following error:
The file you are attempting to open contains comments or form data that are supposed to be placed on . This document cannot be found. It may have been moved, or deleted. Would you like to browse to attempt to locate this document?
Note the space at the end of the last sentence. Adobe Reader is obviously looking for the /F flag, finding nothing, and throwing the error. This would make sense if the original PDF had been moved, but it hasn't.
So, my question is, is there a way to either set the /F flag in the form itself, or force Reader 9.x to set the /F flag similar to how 8.2.5 does? I'd rather not simply enable saving of the entire PDF—there's a date that gets set automatically, meaning that each time the form is opened, you're asked if you want to save changes upon closing, which will be confusing for users. Furthermore, since the form is on a networked drive, even with read-only set on the file itself, users will be prompted to save.

How exactly are you getting the FDF attached to an email? Possibilites include:
    1. Using a Submit Form action and specifying an email address using the mailto scheme
    2. Using a submitForm JavaScript statement and specifying an an email address as above
    3. Using the mailForm JavaScript statement
    4. Something else?

  • Floats/Numbers, and Changes between Oracle 8,9,10 and 11

    Hi
I'm trying to get our application to support Oracle 11, it works fine with Oracle 10 and before. I wonder if someone can help me with this.
Suppose you have an SQL statement with a constant like this:
    select my_agent_id, 0 team_id
    from my_agent
Note: The second column is a constant (0).
In Oracle 8, 9, 10, when this statement is described, Oracle says that the team_id column is an integer type (number). But in Oracle 11, it reports it as a floating-point type.
This causes errors: our datasets are expecting interger types, but Oracle now says these are floats.
Can anyone help? Please don't say 'take the constant out' because that's quite hard, as we have datasets that are in some cases used with different sql statements. Oracle upgrades are usually easy because Oracle are pretty good at version compatibility.
    Here is some additional info.
Our app is an OCI app written using MSVC. The code that says the team_id is a float is here (I have removed error checking code):
                   luiResult = OCIAttrGet(     (ORAVOID *)lpssParam,
                                                 OCI_DTYPE_PARAM,
                                                 (ORAVOID *)&cSc,
                                                 0,
                                                 OCI_ATTR_SCALE,
                                                 (OCIError *)opuoTrans->opssError);
                   if (luiResult != OCI_SUCCESS) {
                        return BINDOUTPUT_GET_PREC;
                   if (cSc == 0) {
                        *aiType = DBPROV_INT; // Oracle 8,9,10 goes here
                   } else {
                        *aiType = DBPROV_FLOAT; // Oracle 11 returns -127 so here
The value of cSc is -127, the code for FLOAT as written in the manual.
Anyway, this seemingly small thing is enough to make the application go bang.
    Any help appreciated.

I believe what you're seeing here is expected behavior. Oracle 9.2.0.3 and later fixed the old behavior. Your code should be looking for a non-zero precision and a scale of -127 to determine that the column is a float.
Metalink 255902.1 Number Datatype Returns -127 instead of 0 for Unspecified Scale seems to be directly on point here.

  • What's changed between the the 3GS iPhone and the iTouch?

Got a 3GS iPhone to replace my iTouch, but here's what no one ever told me...
I always synced my iTouch at home ( Mac G5 ) , where my full iTunes library resides on an external drive. I used to take my iTouch to my work computer in my office ( Mac G5 ) hook the USB connector to that computer and charge my iTouch and play songs through my big loud computer stereo system. No songs or iTunes data is on my computer at work. It is a work computer. Both machines are set to manually manege everything, and automatic syncing is turned off in the prefs of both iTunes apps.
My new iPhone, however, will not let me play the songs on my work computer. It geys the songs out, and only if I sync it with my empty iTunes library will it let me get to the songs I have loaded on the iPhone, which are ALL SONGS I HAVE PURCHASED CD's of and and made mp3's.
It seems Apple is now dictating how my legitimately purchased music is being used as well.. Is this true, or am I missing something?
If this is a new DRM nonsense built into the iPhone, well fine. Then tell me where I can get a dock that charges the iPhone and has audio and video cables to hook up to my stereo/AV amp directly.
I tried an earlier dock model that worked on he iTouch, but the 3GS iPhone said it wasn't compatible for playing or charging.
Love the phone, but, come on here... Thanx -KK

Well, I can see how this could work, but It presents a problem for me. A) My iTunes library is approaching 100 gig, and b) I only want to sync up in one location. I know that the external drive can be that location, but...
Here's the thing. I also am a stubborn guy, and when I spend as much money on compter stuff as I do ( I'm surrounded by it ) I don't always want to feel that I need to invent a workaround because I don't fit into the traditional sales model.. I know this is a bit dousche-ie about this, but my big point is that Apple is now telling my how I can use my legitimately purchased music. It makes me want to go out and pirate stuff just out of spite. But instead, I'll play by the rules and that buys me the God given right to ***** about little things like spending more money for a device and getting less service back in return!
I think the dock will work OK for me, but thanks for the feedback.
    SoapBox now put away...

  • Why is iTunes changing between charging my credit card and my voucher (stor

iTunes sometimes decides to charge my credit card, even though I have money on a voucher, that I have redeemed. Why does it do this? How can I stop it, and only charge my vouchers in the future?

You'd have to ask the iTunes Store why this might be happening. But one way to cure the problem is to remove your credit card information from your iTunes Store account. You can put it back if and when you need to charge something to your credit card.

  • /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx  -- output changing between OVM Server 2.1 and 2.2

Have not seen this issue before.
I have a Dell 2950 with 2 Intel Xeon Quad-Core CPUs , with Virtualization enabled in the BIOS.
When I install OVM Server 2.1.5, my cpus support virtualization (based on "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx" returning data)
When I upgrade to OVM Server 2.2, my cpus no longer support virtualization ( based on "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx" returning NO data)
If I do a clean install of OVM Server 2.2, my cpus do not support virtualization ( based on "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx" returning NO data)
I have to be missing something simple.

  • Differences between CC&B v1.5 and CC&B v2.3.x?

    Hello everyone..
Where might I find, or can someone describe the conceptual / architectural changes between the old v1.5 and current - I assume v2.3.x is current - versions?
Just after the high level differences, core technology differences, major changes to the way the product works, stores data, integrates etc..
Not the incremental "extra" features list..
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
    Cheers.

    Hi Paul,
This is a MAJOR upgrade and is both functional and technical, althoughly with largest focus on the technology change.
I don't have access to the documentation, but, if you are are working for an organization considering the upgrade, I recommend you work with someone from your Oracle project team and dilligently plan for this.
Lot of COBOL has changed to Java, that is one part, but also the Tuxedo layer has been eliminated, etcetera.
Functionally there is a slew of new stuff as well, the major change being the advent Config Tools, but there are lists of other changes.
Some of the changes will affect your 24 hour clock due to impact on performance.
    Enjoy ;-)

  • Excel activex call changes between Office 2000 and Office XP. How does one manage that?

I have several Active X calls from within a VI. One in particular is
the Excel Cell Value property node in Office 2000. MS has decided to
call it Excel Cell Value2 in Office XP.
I have built and exe on a machine with Office 2000 and can run the code
on a machine with Office XP, but I can not build on the machine with
Office XP. I can also run a VI with that call
on the Office XP box, but if I mass compile the VI I get the broken arrow.
I guess I am confuesed as to why it can run but not compile. If the
ActiveX call is not there for the compile why is it there for the run?
If I can expect this does it work in reverse where I
build on an Office XP box and run on a Office 2000 box?

These problems you are experiencing do stem from the ActiveX changes between Excel versions.  When you mass compile LabVIEW checks to see if everything is linked correctly, including ActiveX portions of your code.  Since there are slight changes the LabVIEW compiler detects something is wrong, but cannot isolate the problem.  You might need to force a recompile of that VI.  Check out this link.

  • Is there a way to find all config changes between clients and sap system

We have our Dev system with clients

    400 - Test client
    410 - a copy of our Production system (over 1 year ago0
TST - this is our quality system with one client
    101
    Production system one client

I know if i do a database copy from Production to our TST system, both systems would be exact.
Abaper Director wants to know all the configuration changes that are different between Devopment client 310 - Test and production.
I told him that in development client 310 the abaper or functional users make most of the changes if they do  not get transported they would be missing.
I cannot copy to client 310 otherwise we would loose all of our version management.
Is there another way that I can see the config changes between all these clients.

  • DM3.0 EA2: Filter engineering changes between logical and relational model

    Hi,
when I am engineering changes between logial and relational model there are some issues at filter handling for me:
    - When the filter "Show Modified Objects" is activated, the filter works only on the first level, e.g. on Entity level. On attribute level all attributes are displayed, not only the attributes which have really been modified. It is possible, to show on every level only the really modified objects?
    - I think, selecting a Filter condition is circuitous. All filter conditions except "Show All Objects" keeps activated when I choose another condition. So I have to deactivate "Show Deleted Objects" when I want to see only the modified objects. It is possible to choose another control element for filtering, e.g. disjunctive radio buttons?
I am running Data Modeler on Windows XP with german localization and the JDK 1.6.0_11 from Oracle SQL Developer.

    I logged bug for that.
