Hi Gurus,
i have to delete a holiday from my holiday calendar ? i have some doubts about transporting the changes to quality and prd can anybody explain how we have to trans Port CALENDER

The Best Practice in mantaining Factory Calendar is to Transport the calendar from development to quality and to Production. However, it comes with it's own share of risks as it is a table transport.
To avoid those risks, it is suggested to block SCAL via SM01 for users and give access when the changes need to be moved. There is a process which needs to be set up which creates the necessary checks and balances involving the change.
Now, when you transport, you need to make sure that the changes you are moving are only the changes you did currently. Changes which have been done by someone else in the FC would remain with the object as FC object does not ask for transport when you are saving the changes.
So, in order to accomplish the above objective, you need to compare the Factory calendar , Holiday calendar tables. Compare the tables of Development & Production, download the tables to excel. Use some excel formulaes to match the entries of table in one worksheet with the entries in other worksheet. The conclusion of the comparison would be that only changes which you are doing currently are moving with the transport and no other changes are moving.
There are 3 important tables out of 13-14 which need to be compared: TFACS, TFACD & THOCI.

What is the difference between Holiday Calender and Factory Calender.

Holiday Calendars is used in Time and Payroll. It is Holiday Calender which is used in defining Work Schedules Rules for different regions.
In simple, we can say... it is defined for Employees.
Factory Calendar in turn in used in Shift Planning concept, T&E Mng, in defining/planning for Units.
In simple, we can say... it is defined at Unit(Area) Level.
Eg: Employee can be on holiday based on holiday calendar assigned to his area. But Factory may be running/open on the same day.

Holiday Calender and factory calender

Hello Experts,
I have one scenario in my current implementation for one of the textile industry,
Here management and staff have total 5 public holidays in a year
But for workers its 2 public holidays in a year (in deewali -- for that 2 days only plant will be shut down).
How to do that in SAP?
Do I have to define 2 different holiday calendars?
Or something else?
Please let me know

Dear Jadhav,
You should create
one Holiday Calendar for Corporate
one Holiday Calendar for Plant
I guess, once the plant is shutdown, even the managers will also get the holiday who are working in plant!!
ESG Grouping for MGRS, STAFF and Workers can be only One.
Holiday Calendar for Plant is different
thus, Managers in Plant will also get the holiday.
FACTORY CALENDAR is nothing to do with Employee Holidays... its only HOLIDAY CALENDAR which defined holidays to employees.

Days since Sales Order creation excluding holidays in factory calender

Hello,
Can anyone pls tell me the logic to retrieve the Days since Sales Order creation excluding the holidays in Swedish factory calender.
Current logic which we have thought of is
(The first succesful output - Order creation date)
But the result should exclude the Swedish Factory calender holidays (our client is from Sweden)
Now we need to establish the logic of fitting the factory calender into this whole issue. As we have to provide the logic to our ABAP er .

Your message is somewhat unclear to me.
When creating a sales order, a "Required Delivery Date" is needed.
This date is checked against the unloading calendar of the customer. If the system finds the requested delivery date = a non-working day of the customer calendar, it issues a warning (No goods accepted on DD.MM.YYYY. The next possible date is: DD.MM.YYYY (Message no. V1019). There does not seem to be any possibility of changing this warning to an error in the standard system; only possibility would be to modify the standard code.
If I have misterpreted your thread, then apologies, and feel free to elaborate on the issue some more.

How to get past date based on duration and factory calender?

Hi All,
when i enter the duration ,i want to get the past date based on factory calender w.r.t current date
i.e if current date is 26th jun and duration is 10 , the past date should be 12th jun (which should exclude all holidays and weekends).

MRP and Factory calender question

Hi all,
When MRP runs to replenish stock from planned orders using production planning and/or Purchasing (Planned orders to Requisitions or production orders), is it replenishing stock based on lead times in a 20 day per month (excluding SAT and SUN and company holiday) format or full calendars days? This would also be an input to contracts/agreements etc.
Please advise.

While planning MRP takes inhouse production time for inhouse materials and is calculated in work days which referes to actual working days from factory calendor.
normally for purcahsed parts, planned delivery time ( PDT) is maintained in material master and this is actual calendor days. This does not consider the actual holidays from factory calendor.

Factory Calender and Planning Calenderr

Hi,
i want to plan my production for 7days a week. and want to plan for Raw materials also 7 days a week.
but here my requirement is that i dont want to receive raw materials on weekends. i mean no one will be in Factory to receive raw materials on Weekends.
If i maintain Planning Calender for 7 days and assign to Raw materials in MRP View 2 and Factory Calender for 5 days can i achieve this requirement?
for in house production i have to plan for 7 days a week. (Scheduling and Capacity Calculation)
i dont want to receive rawmaterils in weekends.
Please suggest.

Based on your business requirement , you should have the following set up :
1.One Factory Calender with Work Days Monday-to-Friday Let say FC1 .This will be used on all the organisational level starting from Materials Planning to Sales .But will not be assinge to Capacity Requirement Planning Purpose or Any Production Activity in Work Centre .
2.You should have one more Factory Calander with work Days Monday to Monday ( 7 days week ) with some special rule like Plan Shutdown Days , Breakdown Maintainnece etc and this should be assinged to all the work centres -CR02-Capacity Tab -Capacity Header -Factory Calader ID -Let say it is FC2.
You need to ceate Calander in OP03/SCAL .It does nto have any transport and it will be a Cleinet level changes which requires proper approval .Please rememeber , you need to assing only FC1 to Plant assingement in OP03 where as FC2 will be asisnged only in Work Centre level .
Steps : Goto -OP03
1.Identify all those Public Holidays frist with Fixed or moveable as per business requirement
2.Goto Holiday Calander -Hit the pencil -Hit Create option -Enter ID , Description , Valid To/From Year ( shd be 20 yrs differnce )
Add all those holidays as per Public holidays as applicable in your business with proper valididty and finally SAVE
3.Goto Factory Calander -Hit the pencil -Hit Create option -Enter ID , Description , Valid To/From Year ( shd be 20 yrs differnce )
Asisng Hioliday Calander . In case of FC2-Work centre Calander , here you can hit the Special Rules .Include Special Activity like Plan Shut down of factory with Validity etc and SAVE .
4.Come back to OP03 main screen -Assing the factory Calender in plant .
5.Goto -CR02-Capacity -Capacity Header -Available Capacity Header -Factory Calander-Assing FC2
I do not think you should have planning calander seperately if you do not have any specific reason .

Transport for SCAL 'factory calender' or administer SCAL in prod system?

Hi togehther,
we could change the factory calender in the development system and afterwords transport this changes by using a transport request and STMS.
But our Consultants recommend not to transport these changes. They recommend to open the prod System with SCC4 to open status (Changes are allowed) and then make the changes in the prod system.
I think, this is the wrong way. How do you solve this probem?

You are consultants are right because SAP clear tells that "You cannot transport individual public holidays or calendars. You can only transport calendar data in its entirety. When you do this, all public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars existing in the target system are deleted".
As from your mail i understood that in development system,all users have access to to SCAL transaction,if some users have craeted or changed the factory calendar changes.all this changes get in to trnsport request which in turn affect the calendars in production system.
Thats Y in some industries,Consultants will do the changes through fire fighter ID directly in production or in some industries for development system SCAL authorization will not be given to all.so that as Juregn pointed development and production system will be in SYnc and you can do transport.
In this situation you can try one more option,after generating the transport request go to SE01 ,go to change mode and edit the request (double click on the request).
then go to obects tab you will see lot of tables related to factory calendar.check each tables in SE16 for the calendar you made the changes.if entries are there retain the table else delete the table.
If entries are there,then double click on the table,you will get the table key.in that put calendar id if there is only one entry,if more entries are ther e put calendar id suffix star.and save.
Check this solution first intest system and ensure whether it is trnsaporting only the particular changes

Factory calender transport

How to transport factory calender to PRD system from DEV.

Hi,
Go to SCAL transaction
Choose the function Calendar -> Transport, in the holiday and factory calendar initial screen to copy all the holiday and factory calendar data into a request.
Please pay attention to the information which you get when transporting the holiday and factory calendar
Transporting of Factory Calendar:
u2022 Changes to calendar data are not automatically included in a correction request.
Note: You cannot transport individual public holidays or calendars. You can only transport calendar data in its entirety. When you do this, all public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars existing in the target system are deleted.
u2022 All changes made to the holiday or factory calendar must be transported manually. The holiday and factory calendars' own transport connection should be used.

Hi,
The non working days and working days in the factory calender can be overrided
in the shift sequence .
steps to follow :
1 Go to Workcenters Scheduling tab page.
2.Click Capacties Header.
3. Go to intervals and shifts .
4. Edit --> insert --> insert interval
   Enter maintenance off date and in the workdays coloumn
   three options are available.
   option 1 : working days according to factory calender
   option 2 : Non working days( overrides factory
              calender)
   option 3 : working days (overrides factory calender)
This means for your problem you need to enter the option2
ie though you have specified in factory calender as working day, for all these workcenters the system will
plan in such a way as holiday on the specified date.
Other areas won't get affected.

Problem in Factory Calender

Hi,
When creating the sales order the system shows the messege" Date 05.02.2009 occurs after the end of factory calendar IN from plant X".
So when i tried to change the validity period for factory calender IN to 2009, then the system again showing the messege "Please enter validity area between years 2007 - 2007"-The validity period specified for the factory calendar exceeds that of the selected public holiday calendar.
So how can i change the Year in Factory Calender.

under SAP Netweaver - General Setting - Maintain Calendar check which holday calendar is assigned to your factory calendar IN. In the secons step change the validity for your holiday calendar.

Factory calender transport- not allowing

I have created a holiday calender and factory calender.
I have assigned the holiday calender to factory calender.
In the initial screen of factory calender, when i selected calender from the menu
the transport option is greyed out.
So i am not able to create transport request.
Please sdvice how to solve this?

Schedule a process chain using factory calender

Hi All,
My requirement: the user wishes to see the report every month, 1 working day prior to the month end.
I am trying to do this usnig processing chain and factory calender to restrict it.
1. How can a factory calender be used ?
3. how do i give the offset of 1 working day prior to month end?
2. If you have any such experience please share.

Hi,
In the start process open the start time parameters screen. Then click on the button '>>' next to 'at operation mode' button. In the following screen, give the factory calender. In the workday column give 2. Choose radio button 'end of month'. In the period field give the frequency of the loads, i guess it should be 1 for you as you want to load monthly. So the job runs on the day before the last working day.

Factory calender Modification ?

Dear Experts,
I have one issue for which need your suggestions. For your reference kindly refer below information.
1) In our system three different Factory calendar ID's are maintained for one plant code.
2) Out of those three, client need to modify some holidays in one calendar ID which is maintained only for plant maintenance( in all work center with category-005, this calendar ID is used)
3) For Production planning related data another ID used.
My doubt is, if I want to modify one calendar ID in development then need to transport it to QA & Production client what is the best option available.
Also I read one thread from SDN only in which itu2019s mentioned that - [You can only transport calendar data in its entirety. When you do this, all public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars existing in the target system are deleted.]
Whether it means that, all calendar ID's created in system are refreshed by moving transport of one calendar ID? Because if its true then is it need to verify data consistency in all clients for all Calendar IDs?
Need your help to resolve above issue

dear Mehul,
ask your security or basis to open calendar maintenance in each client.
use SCAL in each system individually (do not transport them).
before to maintain in the next system make sure you've done enough testing and results are correct (say, before to set up QA make sure your calendars work in DEV)
