I'm trying to determine the root cause of a much shorter battery life, and I'm wondering what's new in ios 4.1 that wasn't added to ios 4.0.3, and then 3.1.3? I need to know because I'm wondering if my ipod touch 2nd generation was even broken to begin with. thanks

It's hard to tell exactly what internal workings were changed, but my guess it has something to do with multitasking and things left running in the background by default.

Latest Change to IOS reduced contacts pictures to small dot at top

No ablity to fix latest updade to opeating system to display full size picture. Chnge installed this AM and I can no longe see the picture of my caller withou a magnifing glass. Why did Apple siting on a bug fix fail to disclose this change. Notice Apple support does not accept queries after 90 days from purchase. No way to go to the source. Not a good feature when a drastice change is sent as a bug fix. Not a good result for over 65 vision.

Can app colors be changed in iOS 7?

Most of the core apps such as Music, Mail, Reminders, Phone, etc, have a white background with grey text, which is difficult for me to read the button text. Is it possible to change the background color of stock apps? If you look at the FaceTime app, it does NOT have a white background.

It's evident that Apple does what it wants to do, and does not listen to their customers. I bought a Moto X for $299 without a contract from Republic Wireless, and pay $30 per month for unlimited talk/text/data. Everything is so much easier to view and read, I'm not even thinking of going back unless Apple makes some drastic changes to iOS 7.
And it has something that has irked me about iPhones since I bought my first iPhone -- Persistant missed call/voicemail notifications! The iPhone would remind me that I have voice mail once, that's it. If you missed it, you would probably miss the voice mail too. The Moto X persistanly reminds me every few minutes with an AMOLED display of an icon for missed voice mail, text messages, etc. Untill I dismiss it! It's configurable actually.

It sounds like you want to sign in with a different iCloud email address on your device running iOS 8. You can do that in Settings:
iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Sign Out (Delete Account in iOS 7 and earlier).

Other people have reported issues with the keyboard in iOS 8. I had some problems and I reset all settings and that fixed most of the issues - everywhere but in this forum. But the keyboard problems in this forum are a as a result of the crappy software that this forum runs on.
First reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. See if that does any good.
If that made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

The new change in ios 7.1 as dialing and recieving screen is the worst change ever apple did as making it more bold you making it as a local phone the best one is of ios 6 so for the next update think for the bold

Dialing and recieving changes which had been done in ios 7.1 is worst than ever why you making it smaller make it bold like before as in ios 6.

Web page auto-zooms on orientation change in iOS 7

I had a web page that worked perfectly well until Apple came out with iOS 7 today and it broke the layout when screen orientation is changed.
Basically, when I have focus on a text area and rotate the screen to landscape view, the entire page zooms in. If focus is taken out of the text area and turned back to Portrait, things are back normal.
Rotation also works well when the text areas does not have focus.
I already have the following meta-tag in place (to ensure we block zooming):
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0;;">
Any ideas what's causing this awkward behavior?

Sort order changes from ios photos to iphoto

My photos in an album in the the ios Photo app are in a particular order. When accessed fro iPhoto, the order is completely different. How can I mantain the original order?

I also have have the same issue and have been on the phone with Apple Care....not much help I'm afraid although I do believe something is broken and requires a fix. Here is what I have found (all software up to date and latest OS BTW)....I have sorted all my pictures by Date, if I want to add a straggler I just alter the original date and all is well within the event. I then "batch change" the event to the tile and event name. So the pictures in the event are named " Holiday 2012 1-xxx. Again, all is well in iPhoto but when sent to an iPad or Apple TV the sort is as siwilson mentioned above. I just discovered a temp work around for events with less than 1000 pictures, if I sort by Title I can get them to show correctly on the ATV and iPad. Now what was/is interesting is somethimes they would sort correct and sometimes not. It turns out that if you sort the event by Title and quit iPhoto and reopen it....it has reverted back to sort by Date. It does that everytime. So what I do is turn home sharing off in iTunes (forces it to look at the photos again), open an iPhoto event and sort by Title. Then I turn home sharing on in iTunes (leaving iPhoto open) and sync my iPad. If I want ot stream photos to my ATV I must leave iPhoto open so the sort remains as I set it. If I want to retain the correct sort this is what I need to do each time. So this is a bandage for me until they fix things. One final about pictures over 1000.....it sorts them as mentioned above with another twist, numbering goes 0001, 1000, 1001, 1002 etc. @#$% why can't they just sort the way iPhoto presents them?

How can I change where my files are backed up to when changing to iOS 5?

I have a Windows PC with two hard drives, one being an SSD and another being a regular hard drive. I use the regular hard drive to store music, movies, media, all of that good stuff; I use the SSD to store the operating system and a few video games in order for better performance. My question is, why, when I try to change my iPod to iOS 5, does it automatically back up to my SSD (C:) drive? Is there any way that I can change the location to which my files are backed up? I have plenty of space on my second hard drive, but I can't find anywhere in iTunes where there is an option to change this.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error when attempting to update your wallpaper. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:

How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

How do you change the iOS 5 tabs back to the page of previews

i recently updated my ipad 2 to ios 5 and dislike the new tabs bar at the top of the page and would like to change back to the old full page of previews

I hate the tabs and would revert back to the old iOS if I could just to get the old Safari back. I often keep websites open that I want to revisit later, and being able to look at the preview to remember what it was was very helpful... now I have to flip through the tabs, wait for the pages to load, and look at the content in order to figure out if that's the page I want or not. To me this really negatively impacts my entire iPad experience. Hopefully there is another browser I can download that has the old functionality, and hopefully Apple listens to these complaints and gives users the option to go back. I complained to Apple... hopefully they listen like they did when they gave us the screen lock button back.
