Changes in LV 8.6 with object placement while pasting from clipboard

Hello all,
I noticed a change in behaviour of LV 8.6. When I want to place an object (constant or terminal at block diagram or control at FP) from the clipboard in former versions i could make a click at a certain point and after Ctrl+C the object appeared at this very position. This is useful if you want to place a control in a specific FP- pane or inside a structure on BD. This doesn't work in 8.6 anymore and I find it very annoying to collect the object from the window's center. Is this a bug or didn't I find the appropriate checkbox in the Options- dialog? I understand that it makes it easier for novices, but this very useful feature of predetermined pasting is to much a pity to remove this feature.

Hi Ben,
sorry I wasn't clear enough.I hope the pictures will make it more clearly.
Here you see the selected Bool control which I copy to the clipboard.
In some BD I click at the lower right corner and in former LV- versions the a boolean constant would appear at this point, but...
... in LV 8.6 it always appears centered. So I have to pick it up there and go back to the position I already have been.

Object is distorted when pasted from clipboard into Acrobat

I am running Acrobat X Pro. I can copy an image from my application and paste it Word without problem. However, if I paste it into Acrobat via Edit/Paste or using the Comment/Stamp tool to paste from the clipboard, the aspect ratio of the image is distorted. If I copy the image to Word, then copy it from Word and paste into Acrobat, it is not distorted. Is there any known problem with pasting metafiles from the clipboard into Acrobat? Any clues for diagnosing what might be the problem?

A better approach might be to use Acrobat X Pro's Edit Object Tool to insert the image.

Error with getAttribute( ) function, while navigating from parent to child

Hi,
I have been trying to develop a small project with two task flow(TF).
Both the TF contains only one page.
Both of my pages are made from different VO,s.
from the Parent page (P1) if i select a row and navigate to Child Page (P2), i need to filter the result in P2 using the selected row in P1.
From P1 when i selected a row and navigate to P2 by clicking a button, i have used a Bean to get the parameters from the selected row and Passed the same to TF2.
I made an AMImpl method and binded it to P2, such that whenever my P2 render this AMImpl method will be executed.
Inside the AMImpl method i am trying to run the VO query of P2 with new selected criteria from TF1 ie.P1.
i also have few more functionalites in P2 like when i select a row and clicks on a button i will some some info on a pop-up for the corresponding selected row.
When i run the page P2 individually,all works fine. But when i navigate from P1 to P2 none of the functions are working, i.e when i click on the button on P2 to see popup its showing that Attribute is Null in the selected row, even though the attribute is not null. After navigation in P2 this function getAttribute( ) is returning null. but when i run P2 individually the same function is returning all required fields without error.

The reason I am doing this is to avoid the numerous instances of VO2 (Child VO) that will get created for every row of VO1. (eg: 100 rows of Vo1 means 100 instances of VO2 created & executed ).
I am trying to avoid that by Binding and executing the params to a single child VO instance, only on the click of a button.
Please advise if my assumption about as many child instances of VO2 being created and executed is incorrect and ADFBC does some kind of Lazy instantiation / loading of the child VO until the point of execution of the UI code where it is bound to ?

List of found events changes sort order when pasted from clipboard

when I find a set of events in iCal, the list appears in the window at the bottom of the page in the correct sort order when sorted by date, title or type. When I then copy that list to the clipboard and paste it into another program (Pages, MacJournal, TextEdit) the sort order changes.
I work mostly in English, but my macbookpro keyboard is German, so I assume the problem is with the language settings. I've tried changing the system preferences for language and sort order, and that changes the sort order, but it doesn't get it right.
Anyone have any ideas?

IDoc not found in Objects list while Import from SAP

Hi All,
We could not find the custom IDoc in the Objects list, to import to Integration Repository.
Please let me know is there any setup required on R/3 side.

Are you able to see, standard/any idocs while importing ? If not-
In your SWCV, did you give SAP Logon credentials before importing the idocs.
Open SWCV in the repository, and choose option box "Import of RFC and idoc ....permitted" .
Then it will ask you to provide SAP system Id, Client , user id /password etc.. Then save and activate it. then try to import the idoc by going to Imported Objects section under SWCV and then Idoc and then import it.
If you are able to see standard one, then I thing you did not activate the custom Idoc types/message types and segment in R/3 system.. do this and check

Unable to proceed with upgrade utility while upgrading from 10g to 11g

We have installed Weblogic server,configured the domain also performed the schema creation using the RCU and Installaed OBIEE 11.1.1.6.
But while running the the upgrade assistance utility facing the following error:
UPGCMP-02712: Expected oracle.biee.admin:type=BIDomain.BIInstance.ServerConfiguration,* Oracle instance, found 0
Indicating no Oracle instance is found.

Issue with data Validation while migrating from one application to another

Hi All,
I am having a strange issue Kindly please help me .
I have a data form which have data validation on each cell.The dataform is quite large and contain data for 4 accounts and year (Jan to Dec) combination .The issue is that I when I migrate this data form to other application which is just the replica of the main application. The validation on each cells changes its reference points.
I have 5 more similar data form and I need to migrate then to other application and also on production sever. Is there any way that while exporting and importing them using formutil.cmd or other way that the validation cells reference does not change its reference point.
For ex I have validation on Cell A5,A6..........AA6 after migrating it changes to A1,A1.........AA1.
I am using 11.1.2.1.0 version of Hyperion Planning

I tried using the FormDefUtil.cmd .But by using this the reference points of validation changes to first cell when imported.

Problem with sap script while transporting from dev to quality server

Hi Suresh,
This could be a problem with the Sapscript buffers. Try running the report RSTXDELL on the system to clear the Sapscript buffers?
To do this you can use RSTXDELL report with default settings except it is better to have * instead of the current client number in the Client field.
After this, create a new spool and see if the problem is resolved?

Issue with Date Datatype while importing from SQL Server to OBIEE

Hi,
We have a column in SQL Server Database with datatype as Date. When we imported this column into the Physical layer of OBIEE rpd,
the datatype of this column is getting converted to VarChar automatically. Has anyone faced this issue before?
Please let me know if you have a solution for this.

How are you passing this date parameter ?
Instead of passing this parameter in date format, you can pass this as string and then in PL/SQL package, you can convert this string to date.

IDCS6(MAC) 10.9.4 - a script that will make an anchored object and paste in clipboard contents

I'm trying to create a script that will create an anchored object that will paste in clipboard contents.
So far I have:
var frameRef = app.selection[0];
var parentObj = frameRef.insertionPoints.item(0);
var anchorFrame = parentObj.rectangles.add();
And this works fine, creating an inline object, that can further be defined (with anchor point settings etc).
However, it is when I go to use app.paste() or app.pasteInto() that all hell breaks loose.
The line of code I added was:
anchorFrame.content = app.pasteInto();
and the error I get is:
What am I doing incorrectly?

@Colin – For the paste command you like to use, you have to:
1. First select an object, in your case the added rectangle object
2. Then use the pasteInto() method from the app object
3. There is no content property for a rectangle object
Watch out what is selected after you added the rectangle.
What you have is a selection of the text frame when you start your code in line one.
Adding a rectangle will not change that selection.
The following code will do the job.
However, if you use pasteInto() the pasted objects could be only partly visible inside the frame.
Depends on the size and position of the added rectangle relative to the original copied page items.
Make sure that you give the rectangle a proper size after or while you are adding it:
var frameRef = app.selection[0];
var parentObj = frameRef.insertionPoints.item(0);
//Will add a rectangle sized 40 x 40 mm
var anchorFrame = parentObj.rectangles.add({geometricBounds:[0,0,"40mm","40mm"]});

Can't figure out why colors don't totally change when you select type with curser? It looks like it has by looking at it, but when you highlight the area after the old color is still there. It happens with objects to. Driving me NUTZ. Help!

Select the text, and open the Appearance palette (Come on guys, text highlight is irrelevant, it happens to objects too says the OP), and see what's listed there. For a simple text object, there should only be a line item "Type", followed by "Characters", and when double-clicked the Characters line item expands to tell you the stroke and fill color. For a basic object, there should be a fill and/or stroke.
What happens sometimes, is that you end up adding extra strokes/fills to objects or text, and the appearance palette is where that will be noted. Especially when you are dealing with groups, and/or picking up a color with the eyedropper, you may inadvertently be adding a fill or stroke on top of something. You can drag those unwanted thingies from the Appearance palette into its own little trash can.

As far as I can see I have placed pictures on all the pages. I admit that on some pages I could have placed 3 or 4 pictures but I chose to use ony one or two. Could that be the problem?

The error seems pretty clear - you must have a photo in evey photo frame in order to place your order - so you must either change the layout (if you only want one photo on a page then use a layout with one photo) or put photos in the spots you have not filled

How to change the name of a Box Object in Crystal Reports 2008

I am trying to change the name of a box object in a crystal report - 2008. This report was originally developed by consultants and requires that certain boxes be named according to a specific naming convention. I am making a change to the report and need to add a box with a name that matches the naming convention. This is so some program functionality will work for the new box. I can't contact the consultants because they don't work with our company anymore.
Does anybody have any ideas? I've tried 'Format Box', but it won't let me change the name from there. I also tried it in the Report Explorer but to no avail.

Hi Joanne,
Boxes do not actually have a 'name'. When you add a Box in a report, it will be called 'Box 1' by default. And the only place this name is visible is under the Report Explorer.
Or do you mean to say 'Text Object'?
