Changes in material transferred to project structure.

Hello,
It is required to track the changes made in material transferred to project structure alongwith User Name. (eg: Deletion of magterial, Incerease/decrease in qty etc)
In assignments, we can only see the Username of the person who has made the last change.

This user exit is used to check if there are any changes done to the material component in the component overview screen or the details screen of the material component.

Enterprise Work Resource Changed to Material Resource MS Project Pro 2010

Hi,
There is a resource, I believe at some point was an enterprise work resource that changed to a material type resource within an enterprise project schedule. The resource have actual hours booked a while back. Is there a way to change the resource type (from
Material) to work? I am able to search for the user via Server Settings > Manage Users but am not able to find her in the project center (All Resource) in hopes to edit the enterprise resource through the Project Pro Client.

Hi Paul,
You have to go through the RESOURCE CENTER, since it is a material resource, you will not find it under "server settings, manage users" which only allows you managing users and not resources

Changing "material status" via "project transfer"

HI,
I known that I can change the "material status" by transferring an item to a specific stock Locator that I already defined.
Is it possible to change the material status via project transfer?
For example my item's status is "active" and it was assigned to a project named "ACTV_PROJECT" I transfer this Item
to a random locator whose project is "HOLD_PROJECT". while I perform this transaction, item status will become "HOLD" (Hold is a status that I already defined)

I assume you refer to Item Status Control.
You can update the item status code using the designated form Item Status. This will automaticlly update the values of the following attributes -
BOM Allowed
• Build in WIP
• Customer Orders Enabled
• Internal Orders Enabled
• Invoice Enabled
• Transactable
• Purchasable
• Stockable
Project Transfer is a inventory transaction, that moves certain quantity of the item from one project locator to another project locator. Such transaction is not changing the item status.

How to restrict the user to change the project structure but not the documents?

Hi,
I have created one project assigning different users in Solution manger. I want to risitrict some of the users to change the project structure but simultaneously allwoing the project documents to be created, edited or deleted using solar01 under Project documentation tab. For that I have followed the steps provided in the follwoing link.

I am able to restrict the users to change the project structure, but I am not able to allow access to the project documents. It gives me the message "You are not authorised to change the project". This fulfills my one of the requirements. But, Is there any way to restrict the user to change the project structure but not the documents?. Any help will be apperitiated.

Basically there are 2 different authorization role ...you should look for and customize as per requirement in Z* namespace.
role - SAP_SOLAR01_ALL
this take care of objects in Solar01 like tab access etc
role -SAP_SOL_KW_ALL
this takes care of entire documentation within solman

Transfer material from Valuated project non valuated project

Hi Experts,
While i am trying to transfer material from Valuated project stock to Non valuated project with T.Code MB1B movement type 415 'Q', I am getting following error.
WBS element has different inventory valuation
Message no. CN769
Diagnosis
The project definition for WBS element only allows the following stock control:
No project stock
No project stock with defined valuation M
' ' = non-valuated project stock
'M' = valuated project stock
System Response
Account assignment not possible.
Procedure
Change the settings for the project stock in the project definition (Control tab) or use a suitable WBS element.
Kindly suggest me how to trafer material from Non valued project stock to valuated project stock.

Actually, you sohuld not be transferring stock to non-vlauated proejct directly. In case of non-valuated project, stock is never valuated while in case of valuated project it is valuated. So there is basic difference in valuation method. This will create inconistency if you attempt ot transfer it directly.
You should rather transfer this stock to general stock and then transfer to non-valuated project stock.

CS3-Trouble with Transferred Trimmed Project

Hello...
New problem; have not been able to find answer.
I need to cut a 20 minute SD video down to 10 minutes to share at a retreat for documentary filmmakers. The last interation of the video was on my editor's machine. Saved a trimmed project without previews to an external drive and then transferred the project to my computer.
The problem is that when I do changes, the renders are glacial. I timed one...2.5 minutes for 50 frames...and there was nothing fancy going on. When I save the project and reopen it, it shows rendering is needed again...some areas required rendering which were not changed.
Premiere seems to handle other projects ok. Crazy making...there is obviously something I do not understand about working with trimmed projects. My editor has a much newer and more powerful computer, but is running CS3 as well. (Running Win7.)
The computer is long in the tooth...but has always been fine in the past...and is fine with other projects. What's up? I know I need a new computer but this one should be able to handle this.

Thank you for that info. Sounds like things should work just fine.
The "lost Renders" often happens when one is using an external HDD to edit to/from, or a networked drive, but this does not seem to be your issue.
When I archive a Project (usually TO and external HDD), I will test that Project, prior to moving on. I have yet to encounter any issues, so long as my Assets are in the Project's folder hierarchy. I have run into issues, with Assets not being gathered, when the Assets are spread about. I encountered this with some SmartSound files, that were in a separate folder, since they were being used in about 22 separate Projects for that client. I learned to Copy those into the Project's folder structure, into Music sub-folders, even if that meant having 22 Copies on my system. That has been the ONLY issue, that I have had with archived Projects, using Project Manager, but do have to admit that other than my initial test, I have not revisited many over the years. Do not have any idea why the Render files are causing an issue, and also why the Projects are slowing down, as they are.
Hope that others will see what I am missing, and will have tips for you.

I have some of the Issues while creating the Project Structure in cProjects.
1) The Project Structure getting generated in SAP R/3 is only mappped with WBS elements, why not Networks and Network Activies.

Issue with project structure...

Hi all,
Our projects are created from sales order through assembly processing. All wbs are of first level..the user By mistake manually made changes to the structure by dragging the wbs and dropping it under another wbs in the project thus making it a subordinate wbs I.e second level wbs. Now during the running of the result analysis for the first level wbs the system is giving an error to delete the ra data of the second level wbs before proceeding with the first level wbs and now the user has realized that project structure is changed. Can we go ahead and delete the ra data of the lower wbs and change the project structure back at this point? What implications will changing the structure have at this point?

Besides above suggestion, you can reorganize your structure by executing "Derive structure" in CJ20N.
Go to menu bar Project > Check/Derive Structure.
Note that this is possible before saving changes to system. in you case, when WBS element was dragged and placed under another WBS element, level of WBS also got changed.
These kind of issues are user induced and avoidance is very difficult. But we can still control implementing User Status. Try this option which will default at initial level and stays there till the closing of project.
You can select the object "Change Structure" and option - Forbidden.

In the above code note how i have taken the same names for the fields in internal table as they are in the BAPI so that the mapping of data becomes easier, since i use MOVE CORRESPONDING.

Project structure built dynamically?

Hey,
This is something I frequently wonder about when taking over
someone elses work. I've got an existing structure for a project -
a bunch of classes all in different folders matching their class
definitions. What would be nice is if Flash behaved like Visual
Studio and kept it's project structure up to date like solutions
can be kept in VS. Since it doesn't I have to go through typing in
folder names all over the place and adding files at the end of
every path.
So does anyone know if there is something that will help me
create a project from a directory?

SAP query for Material pricing group changes in material.

Dear all,
I'm trying to generate a query for Material Pricing group changes in material. For that I've to retrieve data from follwing three tables MVKE, CDHDR & CDPOS.
Firstly while generating infoset -
I tried it by joining tables MVKE & CDHDR, but system is not allowing it, also table CDPOS can't bejoined.
Then I tried by reading dirctly from table MVKE and then adding additional fields in it. query created using this infoset is giving the output, however it's giving only 1 entry per material entered in input.
for multiple entries in output for MPG changes in same material I tried creating addtional structure for table CDHDR & CDPOS but again I'm getting only 1 entry per material.
please suggest how I can get MPG changes done in specified time period for a material.

Check the report RSSCD100 and run it for object MAT_FULL for table MVKE. Use this report as a template for your own development.

Substitution of Profit center across project structure.

Dear All,
Requirement: Need to substitute profit center entered at Project definition level (at all times) to all project elements (WBS elements, N/W header and Activities). Also I need to validate this complete structure for the profit center inconsistency.
Problem: I have created Substitution rules, which will substitute across all the project objects (only when a new project is created). But if you change the profit center afterwards, it will change only at WBS elements level, however profit center at N/W and Activities will be substituted only when you make some changes to them. To avoid this I have created a validation, which will check across the complete structure.
Now after changing the profit center using CNMASS for all the objects, even though in physical you can find the new value at N/W header, however while saving it will validate and finds only the oldvalue and hence throws an error.
Can anyone throw some light on this?

My problem in detail:
I am creating a new project structure XXXX (having WBS elements, N/W and Activities) with initial profit center as AA. 1st time while saving the project, profit center AA will be substituted to all objects (I have maintained substitution rules at all objects)
Now again I will reopen the same project XXXX and I will change the profit center of project XXXX to BB (in the project definition level). With this due to automatic substitution only the profit center at WBS elements will be changed to BB. But not at N/W header and Activities (till you make some changes to N/W or Activity the profit center will be AA only, afterwards if you make any changes to N/W and Activities profitcenter will changes to BB). To avoid this difference I have created a validation rule, which will check the inconsistency of profit center all along the structure.
Now I am using mass change functionality to change the profit center in onego at all the objects. After making the masschange the profit center at all objects will become BB (but still not saved), however while saving the system validates the profit center and found still N/W and Activities having AA only (in database), so it wont allow us to save.

Material procurement as Project stock

Hi,
I have assigned a Non Stock Material (N) to WBS activity ---> converted the PR (created for network) to PO --> now i want to do GR for this PO and update the material recieved as Project stock on the correspondign WBS.
I am using movement type 501Q when doing GR, and i expect that the corresponding WBS should automatically be populated or i should be able to add the WBS manually? but WBS field in MIGO screen when doing GR is greyed out?
Any pointers to address this will be helpful?

If you are intended to ship directly to site, then change procurement scenario as Drop shipment. In that case material never see the warehouse, what I mean no GR. Hope this make sense.
for other requirement, discuss with your WM guys who should have fictious GR for that material. In that case you have to use material account assignment as Q (project stock). the only thing is you are not physically bringing material into warehouse but still you have GR for that material.
Why you want to follow suck kind of routing, directly use drop ship procurement scenario which makes your life easier without any risk. By doing this you encouraging some kind of malpractices in system where users may misuse.
Any have its your call and take decision accordingly.

Iam using the T Code cn41 to know the diff in Duruation, work, remaining duration in diff project version. I am getting the Graph/curve with standard settings and system is not allowing to change the scale (Y-X Axis) the way i required.

Thanks for the reply. But please clarify a bit. Please below is my requirement.
As per the SAP Avilable screen in T Code CN41,it is showing the scale of 1 and 2 only.
Assume if it 12 Days as actual work VS Actual duration of 265 Hours .It is showing 2 = actual work of 12 days and 1= Actual duruation of 12 Days. I want to have the scale in such a way that, we should be able to see from 0-100-200-300 Hours and Days 5-10-15-20.
Can u pls advis how can i get these and also give me ur mail id so that i can send u the screen shot also.
