Changes in Process chain

Hi All,
I would like change in one local chain and it is used in multiple meta chains. Does the changes will applicable to all meta chains which ever changed local chain is using?

Hi Sunil,
yes sunil,
If you make any changes to the local chain,it will get reflected every where the local chain used in meta chains.
here in meta chains you are just refering to the local chain.

Error while Transporting changes in Process chain

Hi All,
I have added a Hierarchy InfoPackage in Process chain and added this InfoObject in Save hierarchy and Attribute change Run Process types.
My transport Request is showing only three entries each for
save hierarchy , attribute change run and one for Process Chain.
Now when I transport this changes to Process chain to Acceptance its showing Error message in Acceptance as

My question is , Why the Transport request is not transporting the InfoPackage.

Hi Pratap,
       The infopackage has not yet been assigned to a package in all probabilty. Change the package and then transport the IP and then transpost the process chain request.

Change on process chain not visible in display mode after transport

All,
We have changed a process chain where message notification was active in development.
We have deleted the notification and created a transport. This has been released and implemented into the QA system without a problem.
When displaying the new process chain in QA the change was not visible. But in change mode it is.
Can anyone tell us what might be a cause/solution for this? Also for future changes.

hi,
Try activating the PC again in the QA.
if still it does reflect the message notification, then try creating the request again
in DEV and transport.
make sure you r out of the Process chains in DEV nad QA when transport happens.
This is just a practice.

Event data change is process chain

Hi guys,
i got a problem with my Event data change in my process chain which gives me the error
"Background management: timeout or termination of job BCAST486IO7Q8PXOXKE9OV9HOSCGTO"
when you check in the background it says the job is finsihed
can any one help me out on this how is fix this

How to change local process chains job priority to A?

hi experts,
there are process chains are running in BW production system.
for independent process chain when i forcefully change JOB PRIORITY from C to A last night it was executed successfully with PRIORITY A, but whereas i have meta chain in that there are some local process chains, though i forcefully change the JOP PRIORITY in PRODUCTION TO A, still those local chains were executed with JOB PRIORITY C only.
Can you tell me the reason and solution to change the local process chain as well with JOB PRIORITY A.
The metachain with JOB PRIORITY shows my userid, and the local chains shows BW_USER id.

Check what's job priority for particular cube in TA RSRT->double click on your chain->menu Process chain->Attributes->Job Priority. Via this you can set priority as you need.

Changes to process chain in the Production?

Hi,
I have process chain which is running hourly from 4 AM to 7 PM.We have made emial alert in the process chain at each event level.Now I have change some text in the email alert.As we dont tranfer the infopackage we have created the process chain i production itself.
Please clarify my doubt:
1.I will go ahead and change the text in email alert and again I will save it.
2.Do I need to save and activate the process chain as a whole.
3.Also do I need to schedule it again as it is running allredy succssfulyy.(in production)

As you said this process chain has a hourly run between 4.00 am to 7.00 pm. Since for every run of this chain there will be a job scheduled, so if you wanna make any changes to your mail alert message and want those changes to be applicable from the next hour run, then you have to make this changes well prior this next run ( in between the current & next hour run). Before making those changes please do de-activate the chain, make the required changes & again Activate the chain. I hope this should solve your problem.

Problem Broadcasting via Data Change in Process Chain

Hi, When I execute a Data Dhange in my Process Chain, my broadcasts are sitting in the transaction SOST Queue with a waiting status. If I Broadcast manually the reports are sent successfully.
Can anyone guess why my broadcasts sit in the queue with a "Waiting" status when I broadcast from a Process Chain via Data Change Event?

Does anyone have experince on the functionality Information Broadcasting ,Can you please help me where we use Trigger event when change in the info provider in the process chains.I want to know when we use the (Trigger event in the Broadcaster) in the process chains,how will it take effect in the Information Broadcasting scheduler screen when we select the particular Info provider when there is any data change(Including an Event data change in a process chain).Can you please elaborate on the topic if any one has used the event data change in the info provider.Can you provide me with steps that would be great help.Answers are always appreciated and rewarded.

Usually we trigger an event in SM64 tcode..if u want to create an event u will go for SM62.
In addition to time- and calendar-based job scheduling, the background processing system supports event-driven scheduling.
Triggering an event notifies the background processing system that a particular condition has been met. The background processing system reacts by starting any jobs that were waiting for that event.
Events are not saved. Once an event occurs and triggers any jobs that were waiting for that event, the event is discarded
U can monitor process chain via Tcode 'CCMS'..
Information broadcasting allows you to make objects with Business Intelligence content available to a wide spectrum of users, according to your own requirements.

E-mail delay using "Event Data Change" in process chain

Hi Experts.
I can´t figure out why my process chain is taking so long to deliver a simple e-mail.
The BEx Broadcast Configuration is working fine. When I run it manually, the e-mail comes instantly. But when I use process chain (Event Data Change), it takes hours to receive the e-mail. The option to run after the infoprovider data change is set for this configuration.
Is there any additional configuration I have to check?

Attribute Change Run Process chain

Hi,
We have a attribute change run step in Process chain with "selective infoobjects".
But when it executes it runs attribute change run for all infoobjects apart from what i have mentioned in the variant.
Proof:
I had a snapshot of infoobject list in RSA1->Tools->Attribute change Run before executing process chain in which i saw info objects other than what i had in the variant.
I ran the process chain.
Again I saw the infoobject list RSA1->Tools->Attribute change Run and it was empty!!
Even though I mention some infoobject in process "Attribute change Run" It runs for all info objects irrespective of what I maintain in the variant.
This causes problem and creacting lock. If anyone ever observed this problem and resolved please let me know!!

well here is the POC ,I have nw204s SP-12 .
Steps followed -
Monitor of change run - 3 infoobjects currently waiting for CR.
Built PC with Process type "Attribute Change" only ..no other process types barring "Start" which is imperative.
Included only 2 Infoobjects from the 3 aforementioned.
Scheduled as immediate and it executed CR for the 2 only,so my CR monitor shows now 1 pending for CR to be run,which is as expected.
So as per Proof of Concept sp-12 works with process type "Attribute Change"
You may wish to check your process chain again and in worst case raise an OSS to SAP.

Changes are not getting reflected in Process Chain after changes.

I have modified a Process Chain in Development environment. I have created one new infopackage and included it in the process chain. I have also added two new change run variants in the process chain. I have collected the process chain and infopackage in a transport request and transported it to integration environment.
Transport request has reached successfully in integration but the changes in process chain are not getting reflected. The infopackage has reached to integration after transport.
I need some suggestion on this.

R u in Display mode..........click on Change mode...........
If you can see the chain in Change mode............then ur process chain is imported in in-active version..........
U can try activating it manually or re-transport the active version..........

Changing Process Chain in DEV

Whats the best practice to change a process chain to add couple of process. The process chain exist in both Dev and prod. Should I transport it from prod again and make the changes ?

Hi rvn,
If the process chain has been transported form Dev to Prod, then you need to make the changes in Dev and move the same to Prod. If the process chain has been created directly in Prod then you can edit it in Prod too.
In our system we create and maintain the chains directly in Production.

Broadcaster event data change process step in process chain goes on HOLD

Hi,
We have a process step of event data change in process chain for a cube. the broadcaster has some settings built on this to send email whenever data updates happent to that cube.
It was working fine till last week; suddenly the process started going on sleep or hold mode. i ahve tried deleting old process variant and added new one ...still the job hangs.
Also in SOST i can see that the email based on broadcaster setting were sent. Though users havent recieved any. the job logs in SM37 say:

So the users should have recieved the email . we have separately tested sending out emails and it works fine. just that process in process chain doesnt get completed at all.
the slg1 logs are all successful.
any pointers what could be wrong ?

Use process the INTERRUPT if the last precalculation and alert messaging are succesful. Guess it is looping with first precalucatation

Changes to process chanins not imported

Hi experts,
I am making some changes to process chains (BI7) like removing a step or adding a step like activating an ODS. When I created a transport by activating and imported to the QA system, the changes are not imported correctly. For the new process type, the process variants are captured in the transport.

n 3.0b. whatever change I make in the process chain is automatically captured when I activate the chain. however, in BI 7, this seem to behave differently.
Can anyone advise if this is the case or is this due to some incorrect settings?
We have just installed BI7.

Hi KS,
normally the changes should be collected if you click the transport connection button and grab the changes into a request - this is the way I have been supposing.
If this doesnt work you can try to assign the chain to a request directly in the transport system. Mark a request e.g. in SE10, then click in the menu 'Include objects...' > 'Freely selected objects' > Radiobutton 'Selected objects' > input type 'R3TR RSPC' with free slection ( * ). Finally, mark the chain you want to assign and press F9 in order to include it.
Please send me a feedback about the transport result with both of these methods.
