Changes in SP2 Multi track editor DO NOT update in FCP timeline....

Hi all
Changes in SP2 Multi track editor DO NOT update in FCP timeline even if I do a "save as" all my changes and effects remain in SP2 and won't transfer over to FCP. The best I can get is full mixes of each Channel of audio. Am I right in believing That multi track is dynamically linked too?
Can you tell me how to do it please?

Hi Rob,
If i've understood you correctly, though you can conform tracks in STP2 of any changes in FCP6, any updates in FCP6 will not automatically update in STP2. You will need to EXPORT your final master mix from the multi-track editor with choosing 'update to final cut pro sequence' in the 'after export' drop down tab.
When you open FCP6 it'll ask you to update and once said yes, all tracks in FCP6 will be muted and a new two track master mix will be placed under the video base layer for a final conform.

I'm having to copy the clip rename it as clipreverses.wav then bring it back into audition to use it.
Sony Vagas you can flip the same clip on a different track with a right click and not affect any other copies of that clip.

Not that I'm aware of, no. You can easily make a unique copy of a clip (right-click on it, and you get it already saved for you), and I'd say that having this was more flexible in one way, at least, as you could then time-stretch it if you wanted to, without altering all other instances of it. Not saying that there wouldn't be any point in having a reverse-play option - I can see instances where it might be useful. It's just that it's not exactly difficult to achieve this anyway, which is probably why I don't ever recall a request for it!

How to fade in and out in multi-track editor

I'm using Soundtrack Pro 1.1
Is there any way to fade a clip in or out in the multi-track editor? The only way I've been able to do it so far is to create an audio file project and do it there. Surely there must be a way to do it more directly?

Move your cursor onto the audio track, to the upper-left (or upper-right) corner until the cursor icon changes to a small envelop. From there, click & drag out to create a fade. From there, you can double-click on the audio file to get a HUD with all the different types of fades available.

Track editor adding notes

i just installed the iLfe '06 and performed the update for the included GB.
i do this:
1. create new song file;
2. create software instru. track, select instrument;
3. open track editor on the software instrument track;
question(s):
i thought you guys told me i could "draw in notes"?
i meant with "pencil tool" or mouse click?
how? using what?

yeah i read that in the help... i guess i thought that the area to the right in track editor (looks like a grid must be the piano roll?) IS a region.
i didn't get why (or what) i had to create... i mean i know what regions are though it seems i dont.
and you cmnd drag... hmmm... (obviously im writing before trying again a big NONO;) but "cmnd drag" why can't just frikkin click away!

PLEASE HELP! STP changes not updated in FCP

I've watched tutorials for STP and I can't get a simple process to work.
I have original footage in FCP opened and I am working on resyncing VO over audio in STP.
In FCP, I select all and "send to Soundtrack PRO Multitrack"
The project opens in STP, but when I make changes, deleting original source audio tracks and replace them...SAVE the progress but I go back to FCP to see my work updated, as it does in Motion when you send it out, BUT NOTHING IS UPDATED or changed in FCP!!
What am i not doing, or doing wrong???? I refuse to do any further tedious syncing if my work won't ultimatley be updated in FCP to finalize the project.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

it's a stop motion project, so the compressor was set to photo-jpeg, field dominance to none, video processing to "render in rgb". the timeline also contained livetype dynamic fonts and textures on top of the pictures. in the middle of my work i spotted a few artifacts and eventually managed to get rid of them by setting field dominance to lower field. in a few moments, i noticed the livetype textures had gone invisible.

Change to the Payroll Frequency feature does not update Annual Salary IT8

We are running a biweekly payroll but in 2009, because of the way the calandar falls we will have 27 pay periods. The Payroll Frequency feature was changed but for salaried employees, their info type 8 annual salary still shows their biweekly amount * 26. However if we give the empoyee a pay increase (or, I suspect, change the record in any way) info type 8 will now correctly show annual salary as 27 * the biweekly amount.
Is there a way (like a sap standard report) to make info type 8 recalculate annual salary by multilplying the biweekly amount * our previosly changed Pay Frequency feature (which is now 27 not 26)?

Per SAP document, annual salary "should not necessarily represent the actual amount paid but rather a value that can be used for purposes of comparison". SAP does not recommend changing the number of periods in 'PFREQ' feature as this could lead to inconsistencies for existing data.
Payroll calculation is based on the 'pay period' amount, not base salary. I think it's better off not having to change anything just because your bi-weekly happens to have 27 (instead of 26) pay periods for this year.

Song track "last played" not updating

I just used my new 3G phone as an iPod today in an effort to become my primary Pod. Unfortunately it appears that the "last played" field is not registering at all. And star ratings appear to not be taking as well. Anyone else noticing this as a glitch, or is anyone else able to confirm they are not having a problem. Any feedback would be welcome. I like to keep track of my listening records for smart playlist use. Thanks.

I have done some testing and have found the logic that appears to be used for updating playcounts. All my playcounts now update with the 3G iPhone running 2.0 software (5A347). I did have an issue and in iTunes I did a full restore of my iPhone and that loaded a newer version of the firmware to my iPhone. Not sure if that matters for this.
First the logic of playcount syncing as I have come to understand it. If you have a smart playlist that will cause a track to fall out once it is played and the track was only copied to the iPhone because it is part of that smart playlist, it will not sync the playcount correctly.
Now for the simple fix to this issue. Create or alter the Recently Played playlist so it holds tracks that were played within the last X days. You want to set X to the longest time you plan to go without syncing your iPhone with iTunes but not too much longer, as it will decrease the available space for you to store auido you want on your iPhone. I set mine to 5 days. What this does is make the track relevant to the iPhone once it falls out of the initial smart playlist. If the track is 'relevant' then the playcount is synced correctly. Additionally, to minimize what is picked up in the iPhone Recently Played playlist you may want to set it to audio only if you do not want to track playcounts for video files or podcast only if you only care about updating playcounts on podcasts.

The change date of PR in ECC does not update in SRM

I create PR in ECC ,and then the PR will transfer to sourcing in SRM .But if I change the quantity of the PR ,the update will not happen on the SC(the PO has not been generated in sourcing ).
Is it a system error ?Or others ?

As said earlier, i have never seen a scenario where one can change a PR after it has been transferred to SRM. I have seen cases where they forcefully reset the eprofile field to close a PR (in some peculiar instances).
The change i was mentioning was the shopping cart change in the sourcing cockpit. In you example, when the qty is changed from 7 to 5, the difference of 2 comes back as a new cart referencing the PR.
I missed a point here..
What i actually intended to mean was in cases where a PO is created from the sourcing cockpit & later on the PO qty is reduced, the difference comes back to the sourcing cockpit.
I am not very sure in the PDP scenario whether the purchaser is able to change the qty in the sourcing cockpit.
In the general scenario, i know that a change in qty done from the sourcing cockpit changes the shopping cart qty directly.

Motion Drop Zone pdf template - not updating in FCP X

In Motion 5, I add a PDF as an image type,
Then, make a RIG for the Media|Page Number slider.
All this works well, and well in Final Cut Pro X....
Until...
The user (In FCP X) drops another PDF -
The PDF works fine, but the Page Number slider doesn't resond, and is set to the number of pages of the original file.
Is there a work around for this?

I dropped a PDF with multiple pages into
Final Cut Pro X...
and then onto the time line....
when I PLAY it, it goes through the pages...
So, I'm not sure what you mean when you say "single image".
I may be stuck with dropping my PDF in Motion... then all will be well, and my Rig,
in Final Cut can indeed navigate through the pages... and even be key framed to the page I want.

SWF not updating when scrubbing timeline

I have linked and embedded SWF files in my Director project.
They play and publish just fine. My problem is that when I scrub
the timeline I would like to see the SWF frames. Is there a setting
where I can scrub through the SWF and see it update?

If you mean that you have your .swf extended along the
Director score, then no. The Flash .swf plays through Director
using the Flash Xtra. That xtra is not running while you are moving
the playback head in the score.

CMS Track configuration does not save after removal of runtime

Hello,
We are having problem to save CMS track configuration after removing a runtime which was taken away from us and is not recoverable. The CMS track config was not updated prior to this and we can no longer make track adjustments due to the old DEV runtime sys not being available. Does anyone have similar issue and know how to fix it?

For this SP5 track, we have not imported SP9 required SCs (SAPJEE, SAPJTECHS, SAPBUILDT, EP_BUILDT). but we did imported them (SP8 version) with patches. We imported most current SP9 patches to the new SP6 track. We want to move our development on the SP5 track to assemble it, then imported to the new SP6 track based SAP XSS cookbook.
We are not able to assemble released activities with broken DCs on the SP5 track. I look a DC for ess/au/fam/cfg, Build.log still shows xlf conversion error:

TestStand not updating th description after using the edit substep

I've created numerous custom steps in TestStand. None of them will update the description after I use the edit substep and change some of that steps properties. As an example, I have the following step description...
str(Step.Channel.DeviceName)
After I use the edit substep, which changes step.Channel.DeviceName, the description does not update. However, if I then open the properties menu for that item and either select "OK" of "Cancel" to leave the property window, it then updates to the correct values. Placing down a new step will also force the description to update. While this is not functionally causing any problems, it would be nice if the descriptions updated immediatly.

The reason it doesn't update is because the sequence editor doesn't know that the sequencefile has changed so it doesn't know to redraw that window. You can force it to redraw the window by calling the method IncChangeCount from the PropertyObjectFileClass. If you increment the change count it should automatically update the description as soon as your edit substep completes. Also a piece of advice, in the future if you have TestStand questions, you can probably get a quicker answer to them by posting on the TestStand forums, even if it is using the TestStand API in another programming environment like LabVIEW or CVI. Hope this helps!
