Can you share with me if there are any changes in the scheduling interface between 6.4 and 7.0 (NetWeaver 2004s)? We have a job scheduling solution that this would effect. Thank you

When we upgraded from 8.4 to 8.9, we had to switch to use the new table structures. This was about 3 years ago, but I recall that the miscellaneous tables you are asking about were combined into the other tables (maybe the payment one). You will need to review the fields on each of the new tables to see where the freight and tax information is now stored. We didn't store that information for the vouchers we loaded via EDI in the past, so we didn't have to worry about it going forward.

Hi,
D&B offers their D&B Toolkit as AML services over HTTPS. (Not SOAP). With those services you can search for DUNS numbers, order reports etc.
In our case we use SAP FSCM and the integrated outbound interface to external credit agencies to call Xi. In Xi we use a XSLT mapping to convert the request to the D&B toolkit schema and use the HTTP adapter to call D&B. The response is then mapped back to the SAP FSCM interface format and updates the business partner.
You don't say anything on what kind of D&B data you want to request or what you want to do with it (reports, update BPs etc) therefore it is kind of hard give any further advice.

Hi Denish,
You have 2 ways of loading data from R/3 to APO.
1. R/3 to BW cube to APO-BW cube to APO planning area
or
2. R/3 to APO-BW cube to APO planning area
BW can be a enterprise BW system ( independent) or you can use the BW inbuilt in APO also referred to as APO-BW.
The only difference between the 2 BW systems is APO-BW can not take the load of reporting where as the enterprise BW can.
Unless your company policy requires the enterprie BW system, I suggest using 2nd way.
You can load the data from R/3 to APO-BW cube using extractors either generic or standard depending on your data. You need to have a RFC connection setup between APO-BW and R/3. ( This is not CIF).
When you load the data into the APO-BW cube, you just have to load the data from the cube to APO planning area using the transaction /sapapo/tscube.

As the UI framework got introduced in 5.2 . Are there significant changes to the framework between 5.2 and 2007.
Therefore could a developer with experience in 5.2 carry out developments within the UI framework for 2007?
These developments need to be carried out to integrate a third party solution .

have worked with 5.1 and 5.2 before switching to 6.0.
I did not notice many changes in the framwork. Most of it still seems to be ICWC anyway.
- SAP has added some new BAdI's,
- there seems to be a lot of additional logic regarding webservices
- there are some new UI gimmicks (Move Assignmentblocks, Configuriation directly in the client, sortable tableviews, etc.)
- the designlayer (did not notice it before)
- component enhancements (I believe they were there in 5.2)
- editable overviewpages, i.e. extensive use of the view_group_context
So yes, when you have done 5.2 before, you will know your way aroung most things and be better off then 90% of the people starting with 6.0

Interface Between R12 GL and 11i GL

We have a requirement as part of which we are moving few modules to R12 from 11i. We would still continue with the GL part in 11i. At the end of each period we want to consolidate GL data from R12 and send it to 11i and then do the reporting from there. As there are changes in the GL module between 11i and R12 can we do this by simply migrating the GL balances/transaction data from one database to another(i.e from R12 to 11i). Please share your experience/comments on this. Any pointers will be very helpful. I have very little knowledge on R12 as i have just started working on it.

That is not possible.
You will have to extract the data from source, validate it, insert into gl_interface on destination, run GL import, and then post the batches.
Alternatively, if all your business wants is updated totals (which is unlikely), you can simply extract period end balances, create journal entries for the differance (manually or programmatically depending on volume) and post them.

XML interface between 8.05 and 8i

I am kinda new to the world of XML. So bear with me if my questions are too simplistic.I am planning to write an interface between Oracle HR(8.05) and a third party application that resides on 8i. Basically, the Employee data is selected from 8.05 tables and comapred to the tables in 8i. If any employee do not exist in 8i, they need to be "inserted". Else they are assumed to be candidates for "update". This is the logic and it can be very easily programmed using PL/SQL stored procedure. The question is how to do this using XML? I guess you can classify this question as XML 101.
What is my starting point?
What needs to be installed on 8.05? XSU?
Is there a step by step installation instruction somewhere?
Is XSU and other needed tools compatible w/ 8.05?
Are there any sample XML codes for this type of interface?

Interfacing between objective c and c++

Hi all,
I am new to cocoa and objective c/c++.
I have to develop an application in objective c/c++ for mac ipad.
I have the core graphics library already developed in c++, this code needs to interface with the gui which is supposed to be developed in objective c/c++. I cannot rename the .cpp files to any other extension.
Can someone please explain how could I interface between c++ and objective c/c++ with an example?

Create Objective-C++ class (just name the implementation classes .mm) and freely use your c++ classes from Objective-C. I have not tried the reverse, so cannot comment on that. Stick to using pointers for your C++ classes to avoid issues related to deallocation of your C++ classes

Workflow Interface between Lightroom 2 and PSE7 - Resources?

Hi, I'm a new member, and a new user of both PSE7 and Lightroom 2.3. I love the organising and raw processing capacity of LR, and need PSE7 for simple filters, layers etc. CS4 would be expensive overkill for my needs.
I am looking for resources:- manuals/podcasts/articles/tutorials to instruct me how to use the two together - preferably in Windows speak.
There's loads of wonderfully helpful info around about LR - which I'm soaking up - and there's similarly loads about PSE7, but when it comes to the work flow interface most sources focus on combining Photoshop CS3/4 and LR. Fundamentally the interfaces aren't hugely different, but there are differences and they are frustrating to bump up against.
For example it's no longer possible to upgrade catalogs from PSE7 to LR2, whereas it was from PSE6 and is from CS. And in the Photo - "Edit In" dialogue in LR, CS4 is a default - to set up PSE7 I had to choose preferences specifying PSE7's editor.exe as I would for any 3rd party editor. (Am I right in thinking that earlier LR versions had Elements as a default external editor?)
I almost feel as a user that I'm being steered away from combining PSE7 and Lightroom 2 (I do have slightly paranoid tendencies though)
I am making headway, and extracting pieces of useful information from different places, but would find it extremely helpful to have something coherent that would take me through the process. (Maybe there's a slim volume there for someone.)

I think you may have hit a nerve with this. When I was trying to decide between the two, the Adobe Sales Person couldn't even explain the differences. I now know that the Lightroom nondestructive editing and great organizing capabilities are what I want, but I also have both. As you said, there are many books on each, and several on PS and LR2, but none on this combo. I like the Photoshop.com program, and will like it more when they figure out that Friends should be able to see all your shared albums without using single email links for each album. I hope you get an informed response, and I'll ride your coattails!

Interface between real instruments and macbook

Hi all,
I'm running a macbook and am keen to get recording in garageband. I have a guitar pedal, that I am unsure of whether or not I should connect to the macbook. ( Live thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=869286&tstart=0 ).
I was wondering what sort of audio interface equipment you would advise for use to plug the guitar, pedal, mic etc into the macbook for recording. I don't want to spend the earth on a solution, however, I am keen to get a quality, noise-free solution etc.

There is no problem plugging the output of the pedal into the line-in on your MacBook, the computer will not be damaged. Try that first and decide if what you record is what you desire, quality-wise.

Solutions like XI (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/xi), web services, etc can be valueble for your purpose, but only you can determin this by knowing the third party software.
