Changes taking place in BWD Infoobjects without actually changing them.

Dear Experts
We have have made certain changes ( like making them Authorization Relevent or Unit conversion ) in the Standard Infoobjects like in 0Material l, 0Plant, 0Bus_area etc. and tranported them to BWQ and BWP. Few days back I noticed that all these changes has been missing from these objects on BWD and the they are available in their standard form. We have not made any changes in these Infoobjects then how come the changes made by us earlier has been overwritten by std. form. We are not been able to Understand that which activity is the reason behind these changes.

Hi,
Any other user might installed the objects from business content. If the user don't select the match X while business content
(already installed objects) installation those objects will be overwrite the existing objects.
Please check the user name in infoobjects maintenance.

Simulating Summary / drill down columns in OBIEE without actually changing Subject Area/Repository

Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to group certain columns and simulate drill down (expansion and collapse) for them without doing any changes in Subject Area / Repository.
We have measure columns revenues and a two geography columns Continent (values are Europe, Asia) and Country (Singapore, India, Japan, France, UK) in Subject Area.
Continent is heirarchial column. Europe includes France and UK. Asia includes Singaore, India and Japan. We need to create a Summary Region SIUK (containing Singapore, India and UK) and another Region FJ (containing France and Japan). Analysis output should not show original Continent names. Analysis output needs to have three columns Region, Country, Revenue. When region is expanded then Country column should show the different countries. Example (Result before expanding i.e. clicking + )

Result after expanding i.e. clicking +

If you really only want to use Answers / front-end approaches for this you won't be able to get the OLAP-style navigation rendered but would have to use navigation links or GO URLs.

My iPhone 4s syncs with iTunes, but without a change. its says sync complete but nothing actually changes on my iPhone, or vice versa.

I plug in my iphone 4s 5.0.1 to my macbook pro 15" with itunes 10.5.3, it syncs normally but without action. its like a fake sync. Whatever i change on my iphone or on my itunes, it says the same when i sync or apply changes.

NuVo N200 and browsing files, without actually playing them

I'm not sure if there was any answer to that question in any previous thread, I did a search on N200 and there's so many results, checked a few of them but couldnt find anything.
The most frustrating thing for me at the moment with my N200, which I think overall is a very good player, is that there's no way to browse directories and files without playing them. That's a BIG handicap. I got a directory with about 00 MP3s, misc songs, and it takes forever to skip to a specific song because the player actually tries to load the tune play it every time you go to the next. What would be great and almost necessary is a browse feature that allows you to skip over directories and files, while the player is still playing the current tune, and then will play the new song when selected.
Also, a STOP menu feature, which would be one of the first icons when loading up the menu, would also be very important. Sometimes you don't want to shutdown the player, just stop it for a few seconds.
Is there anyone else with the same wishes? Any possbility of a firmware upgrade someday?

Oh... on my MuVo nx I can do what you propose! The trick is to PAUSE the current track. Unfortunately, it's not possible to browse WHILE a current track is playing without interrupting it. I agree.. a firmware upgrade ought to be entirely possible! I too would like the ability to "look around" at the song collection while a tune is still being played in the background. I never really explored the functionality of any of the other flash-based portable mp3 devices before I settled on this one. I mearly jumped on getting this 256meg version when a supplier informed me that Creative had a 2 or 3-week promotional price on it. At Under $20 cdn about 2 months ago it was hard to pass up!
I wonder if the Muvo C00 would have been a better choice (but I don't like its "round" design). The C00 seems to have a larger display (which I like).
I guess we would have to download the User Manuals of all the devices we're interested in inorder to learn if a certain feature or function is available?

How do I view PDF files on a website without actually downloading them?

Whenever I encounter a PDF document on a website, it always downloads to my computer when I view it. When you tap on the PDF link, the file should open directly on the screen while you are in Safari. You can then tap on - Open In - in the upper right corner of the PDF. Then tap on Open In and select your PDF app from the pop up.
If you do not see the Open In button, just tap on the open PDF somewhere and that will make the button reappear for a few seconds.

Capturing the raster of Swing components without actually displaying them?

My goal is to be able to create an Image/BufferedImage that represents the image of Swing components. Now one solution would be to display the component, take a printscrn of it, and cut the resulting image down so that it only contains the area that the component takes up. However, this requires the component to be displayed to the screen.
Looking for a solution, I found createImage() in java.awt.Component. I tried that, and got a null image. Going back to the javadocs, I found that the component had to be displayable, which was defined as being visible or packed. I tried inserting the component into a JFrame, packed the frame, and then called createImage, only to get a blank Image. I've also tried displaying the JFrame, calling createImage, and displaying the image, but I've had no luck.
To display the Images, I've been encapsulating them in ImageIcons and displaying those.
Any ideas pertaining to a good solution?

Can you change the color of an image without changing it in photoshop first?

I have created a link for Indesign using Photoshop. It is basically a plain black graphic that is placed over an aerial to highlight the represented water. It is possible to change the color of this graphic without actually going back into photoshop?

Another option is to make a path around the image, so that you have a vector shape with full control over fill and transparency.
You can do the path in Ps, save as clipping path, bring into InD, position, convert clipping path to frame, select and delete content, fill, fade...
It may be easier to do the path in InD, but perhaps accurate positioning over the area you're after would be an issue.

Enhancement Section Activated but changes not taking place

Hello Friends,
I have been getting a dump error for FM GN_DELIVERY_CREATE_FOR_DIALOG which says that
"spe_version" does not exist in table "LIPS".
I found a enhancement option that commented out the perform that lead to the subroutine which has the error code.
I have activated business function LOG_LE_INTEGRATION via SFW5 which activates among others switch LE_SFWS_SC3.
I can see the global status of the switch as ON.
This switch is associated with enhancement spot ES_SAPLV50S which has implemented an enhancement section in inlcude LV50LF14 lines 191 -194
However, despite activation the changes are not taking place and i am still getting a dump error.
I am also not able to set a break-point in the FM because the program cannot be generated
My question is: Is successful program generation a pre-requiste for enhancement source plug-ins to be effective?
Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

With "enhancement spot" we have come across similar short dumps and inactivation of spots even when steps are taken as per procedure.Please check if any notes are available for the same ,since most of the time it fixed the problem.

Once you create a UDF it will automatically be binded to the data source of data type that you gave at the time of creating UDF.
So i think you can not set the decimal places without changing the setting in display parameters.
i am not sure whether it will work or not one thing you can try is that create it as a alphanumeric data type and convert your decimal value to sting and then assign it to UDF,While retrieving for any manipulation you convert it as decimal.

Can we change VI properties without actually opening it?

I am making executable out of my VI. I wished that the window should close once we exit the program through exit button. Hence I used "Quit Labview" function from Application Control pallette. At the same time inadvertantly I have set the VI properties as "Run when opened" and also disabled "Show run button" and "Show Abort button" options. Now when I open the VI, it starts running, it doesn't show run or abort buttons and when I press exit button to quit the program, it closes the Labview. Now I am unable to edit it's properties. Can any body tell me if there is any way of editing VI properties without actually openig the VI? Thanks and regards.

Alternatively, if you have LabVIEW 8.0 or higher, open the VI from within a LabVIEW project. It will open in edit mode.

How do we initialize DAL variables without making changes to INI files?

We have an application which currently use only two DALs. We would like to add a DAL to popluate certain data on the form. We have encountered an issue with initialization of dal vairables.
One of the solutionis that set FlushDalSymbo = Yes in the FSISYS file.
However, this involves INI file change which we would like to avoid.
So, is there a way to initialize dal variables, without making changes to INI files? If so, how?

Initializing a variable is simple, you just need to set the value to blank or zero:
Variable = ""
#Variable =0
$Variable = 0.00
You can place the declaration at the beginning of your script, of course replacing "Variable" with the actual name of you variable.
