Changes to calendar on iPhone don't appear on iCal or iCloud calendar

Objective: make changes to calendar on iPhone (iOS 5.0.1), iPad (iOS 5.0.1), iCal (on MAC with 10.7.3) that automatically sync with each other through iCloud.
I had a MobleMe account and moved to iCloud. However, when I make changes to my calendar on iPhone or iPad they do not appear in iCal on MAC or on iCloud calendar.
As an aside, when I make changes to iCal or on iCloud they do appear on iPhone if I connect it to iTunes.
Ive been searching through forums and trying different things all day & still can't figure it out.

Oh yes, and I forgot. Click the rectangle button on top left (Caldendar) in iCal. Make sure that iCloud calendar is listed and that when you are adding an event, you are actually adding it to the selected iCloud calendar, and not some silly Work or Home calendar under On My iPad.

  • Events created on iPhone don't appear in iCal on my computer...

...but events created on the computer do appear on the iPhone.  I'm using iCloud and other functions (e.g. Photo Stream) work fine.  I've browsed the community for suggestions, but keep ending up reading articles from 2007 or 2008.  Thanks in advance for your assistance!

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB mem
    OS 10.7.3
I was able to solve the problem through a combination of two suggestions in the troubleshooting advice provided in the like you sent:  turning off and then back on the Calendars box in System Preferences/iCloud, then restarting the computer. Works fine now, but it's scary to watch all of your calendar events disappear after you uncheck that box!
    Thanks!

  • ICal / iPhone sync problems - events don't appear in iCal

I have MobileMe set up on both my MacBook and iPhone. All iCal-created events now appear on my iPhone (although only those after 9th May 2008; none before), but if I create an event on my iPhone then it doesn't show up on iCal. If I check MobileMe on the internet, my web-based version of iCal has all events, including those that I create on the iPhone.
On iCal I have two calendar types: Home (Blue) and Work (Green). On my iPhone there are now four types, for some reason: two Homes (both Blue) and two Works (both Green). I have tried experimenting by creating events in all calendars, but none sync to appear in iCal on my MacBook.
    Help!

After 3.5 hours on the phone with applecare, I believe this problem of not syncing ical from ipod touch to the ical app is resolved. Here are the steps that made it happen for me:
Log out of main account and log into root account. If you haven't set up the root user yet follow the directions in your Mac Help on your computer. Make sure you understand the implications of setting up the root user account. You may want to disable the root user after you are done with this fix.
In Finder, navigate to /Users/(your account)/Library/Application Support and delete every folder in the Application Support directory that has the word 'Sync' in the folder's name.
Log out of the root account and back into your main account. Sync your ipod touch / iphone and see if this worked for you.
    Good Luck!

  • After last update "new photos" can`t import on the PC, because the iPhone don't appear anymore as a camera or new hardware. can anybody help me?

before in Windows XP an window opened: "import camera assistent" (I don't know it exactely in english because I use the german version) every time I matched my iPhone with the PC and new photos or films are on it. But after the last softeware update in iTunes for the iPhone, no assistent opens. And no iPhone or camera appear as a hardware on the PC...I can't open the folders or copy the photos by myself. For me, it's not logical, why a software update is the reason for "disappearing" the iphome from my PC....
Please help me, there a a lot of nice videos from my baby on the iPhone and I can't save it on the PC or CD or....
    Thank you!

  • Contacts entered on iphone don't appear on mac

When i enter a new contact on my iPhone 4s ios6 they don't appear in my contacts on my Mac but they appear on my iPhone when i enter them on my Mac

IF you're signed into the same iCloud accoun on Mac/iPhone and it's only syncing "one-way" here's what I'd do.
    Probably start with the Mac:
System Preferences->iCloud & Delete the account and everything that is syncing with it from your Mac.
THEN go back into iCloud settings and re-add your account in. That should do it.  If it doesn't:  push it up a notch and remove the account from BOTH your iPhone & Mac. Then re-add one at a time probably starting with the Mac.

  • IPhone Events Not Appearing on iCal . . .

    Well, here's something interesting.
After updating to the newest version of iTunes and 1.1.4. I lost syncronization of events created on the iPhone to iCal. I know there are several posts on this topic. I've tried all those suggestions with no luck. But here's the interesting part of my issue . . .
After syncing the iPhone to my iMac, iCal does not show the iPhone created events. I decided to sync my iMac calendars to .Mac. Then I synced the .Mac calendars to my MacBook Pro. Viola, the iPhone created events (which never appeared in iCal on my iMac) did appear on iCal on my MacBook Pro. Weird, huh?
I thought it might be a corrupted plist on my iMac. I deleted com.apple.ical.iplist, but still no change in the display. Any ideas anyone?

I have the same problem happening. And I sync to my iMac but also have a MBP, so I tried what you did. When the sync app on my MBP informed me of changes I clicked on the details button, and I saw it was going to try and add the iPhone calendar that I specified for events created on the phone. It was also going to add two events from my phone that I wasn't seeing on my iMac. So I proceeded with the sync. But after it was done, iCal on the MBP did not show me the iPhone calendar nor the events that were created on the iPhone.
I don't have any ideas other than finding out if you have submitted this information to Apple as a bug report?

  • Event created on iPhone does not appear in iCal

When I create an event on my phone and sync, it does not appear in iCal. Events created on my laptop sync without issue. Contacts sync both ways, but calendar events do not go from the phone to the computer. I am not using MobileMe to sync, simply using the USB cable.
I have tried the following to resolve my issues:
    * Make sure iTunes and iPhone are up to date
    * Make sure all calendars are set to sync with iTunes
    * Try different USB ports on the laptop
    * Restart phone and computer
    * Reset sync history in iSync and re-sync
    * Follow directions in this support article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627 to do a full reset of sync history and re-sync
Yet after trying all of those solutions, I still cannot sync events created on my phone to my laptop. Does anyone out there know of anything else I can try that might work?
    Thank you,
    Cameron

After a trip to the genius bar, I found how to solve this problem, at least for me:
    0) Plug in iPhone
    1) Start iCal
    2) Export all calendars (File -> Export)
    3) Quit iCal
    4) Delete all calendars from ~/Library/Calendars
    5) Start iCal
    6) Import all exported calendars
    7) Start iTunes, configure syncing to overwrite calendars on phone
    8) Sync iPhone

  • Events Added on Touch Don't Appear in iCal

    Hi,
When I added a new event on the iPod Touch and then sync with my MacBook, the new event does not appear in iCal. However, iTunes does ask me if I want to modify the specific calendar, and if I then delete the event from the Touch it will ask me if I want to delete the event upon next sync. So, it would appear that events are getting added to the calendar but aren't appearing in iCal. I've tried a variety of things, including using a different calendar, switching from syncing all calendars to only a specific set, and even resetting the iPod.
I suppose this isn't a huge issue, but it's obnoxious to have to manually enter events into iCal after I've already also added them to the iPod. Syncing in the opposite direction (iCal->Touch) works just fine.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Calendar events created in iPhone don't sycn to iCal

I migrated from a Blackberry to iPhone about a month ago, so am somewhat green to the nuances of the platform.
I notice that when I create a calendar event in the iPhone (3g, 2.2.1), it does not get sync'ed to my iCal calendar. Changes in iCal sync to the iPhone just fine.
I've done the reset suggestions listed in the Apple support site that relate to resetting the iSync history as well as running the unix command with no change.
    Any suggestions here?
    thanks,
    Larry

I am also having the problem. Events created on the iPhone do not sync to either my MobileMe calendar (no matter what platform (Mac/PC) or browser(IE/Safafi) I open it from)or the iCals on either my desktop or laptops Macs. All have MobileMe preferences set to sync calendars, and iPhone is set to Sync with my Macs in iTunes. All events added anywhere BUT the iPhone itself, sync across all my Macs and MobileMe, only the event actually added from the iPhone itself fail to sync.
Anybody got anything new on this?

  • When I connect iPhone 4S in iMac, photos and videos can be imported through iPhoto, as usual. But, if I change the user account, iPhone no longer appears in iPhoto! If I return to the first account, iPhone simply doesn't appears in iPhoto also. Any idea?

    Some more information:
    - I have iPhoto '11 and, in iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1;
    - I started having this issue about 2 months ago, but I can't associate it with any changes or updates;
    - with iTunes, the behaviour is absolutely normal...

No, your iPhone and your iPad should not appear in the finder.
I'm not sure what you mean about downloading photos with iPhoto being double handling, but you can download direct to a folder with Image Capture. Image Capture can also be used to delete photos from the Camera Roll on the iPhone or iPad (preferrably after they are downloaded).
You can remove the photos you synced from your phone with iTunes by syncing again with an empty folder, That will delete all the photos that were previously synced that way, replacing them with the contents of the empty folder (that is, nothing). This will not effect photos takes with the camera on your iPhone.

  • Emails sent from iPhone don't appear in Sent folder

This should be an easy one for you guys!
I have an iPhone 4s running the latest IOS. When I send emails from the phone they do not appear in the Sent folder on the phone. I can't find the setting to change this.
    Thanks!!

Has the Mobile Me account been set up on your iPhone as POP rather than IMAP? If it has been set up as POP then any message sent will not be mirrored. Your Mobile Me account should also be configured as IMAP on all your devices in order to see those messages in your Sent Items folder.
The idea of IMAP is to be device independent such that whatever you do is mirrored on all your devices as they each synchronize with Mobile Me. I suppose you could view the Mobile Me "cloud" as being the main repository. If you delete a message from your Inbox via your iPhone, the next time you connect your Mac that message will not appear in the associated Inbox in Mail.
    Does that make sense?

  • Events created in iCal on iPhone 5s not appearing in iCal

I've just upgraded to an iPhone 5s and retired everything from iTunes yet when I create an event in the calendar on the phone the events don't show up. Does anyone have an idea how to rectify this? iOS is 7.0.4

The default calendar on all three (iPhone, iCloud, and iMac) is "Calendar" which is, of course, an iCloud calendar.
If I add events to any of the calendars on my iMac (calendar, work, home), they sync to iCloud and my iPhone.
If I add events to any calendar on my iPhone (calendar, work, home), they do NOT sync and stay only on the iPhone.
Any other ideas? I really need my calendar to sync correctly for work!
