CHanges to Funds Center HIerarchy not reflected in STS

Hello,
I wonder if the changes that I made to say Funds Center hierarchy should be automatically reflected in STS. Currently when I upload new hierarchy to BW from R/3 my hierarchy never gets updated for STS. Is this a normal procedure that I have to manually re-import hierarchy in BW to STS, or this is abnormal?

In my experience the changed hierarchy has to be re-imported to the STS subplan.
(Even if the hierarchy was automatically changed, it would still be necessary to assign names, functions, to the new elements).

Extracting Funds Center Hierarchy from R/3 to BW

Hello Experts,
The goal is to extract Funds Center hierarchy defined in R/3 table FMHISV, field FISTL (Funds Center) to BW.
On the BW side we have 0FUNDS_CTR InfoObject setup which is compounded with 0FM_AREA (Financial management area), which is FIKRS field in FMHISV table in R/3).
I have tried this document -

ad this SAP note - 134975.
I seem to setup everything that is asked in those 2 documents, but when I run the load, nothing gets loaded (only the top text node).
Am I missing any step? Do I have to define a set in R/3 manually, etc. Do i need to mofidy my ABAP code?
Any help would be aprpeciated, esp step by step guide.

In the tcode GS03, click on F4 help of set. Now in reference table name/field name enter your field name. If hierarchy is Set hierarchy you will get it in the F4 help list.

Fund Center Hierarchy was messed

Dear all FM expertise,
I don't know what happens with the Fund Center Hierarchy. I test create fund center and delete fund center. I don't know what happens to the system then now i can't recover the fund center hierarchy. When i use transaction FMSD , now the status of all fund center (excluding top fund center) is no assigned (red label) and is in the same level as top fund center. when i activated it and move it to the right place, the system gives error as "Function not allowed: Budget was assigned for funds center ..." . I check the individual fund center, the hierarchy set is correctly. when display the hierarchy, shows only top fund center. I tried to activate it and save but the system shows Error in the ABAP Application Program.
Have anybody a good advice?

I am not sure how familiar are You with sap internal functionality and if it is allowed to use it just so. Look e.g. in the thread

Be very carefull with the table fmhisv - if one hierarchy "connection" looses, the hierarchy will be missed. It is very important that parent,next and sibling have correct data in this table. Perform the editing just on Your own risk.

Change the validity so that it can no longer be used.
Now try to change the fund center.

Changes to Derived Logical Column not reflected in Answers

Before I go off my rocker and stab myself with my IPhone lightsabre... :-)
I created a new logical column for an existing table in my BM, deriving from an existing column (a datetime field called ESTIMATEDCLOSE) as follows:
MONTHNAME(Sales.OPPORTUNITY.ESTIMATEDCLOSE) || ' - ' || CAST(Year(Sales.OPPORTUNITY.ESTIMATEDCLOSE) AS CHAR(4))
...which should give me something like "Jan - 2008". The problem is that it returned something like "2008/01/31 00:00:00" in Answers - completely unexpected.
I decided to start out small and try something simpler, changing my derived column to be only Sales.OPPORTUNITY.ESTIMATEDCLOSE. This returned "2008/01/31 00:00:00" in Answers - sort of expected.
Then I changed it to MONTHNAME(Sales.OPPORTUNITY.ESTIMATEDCLOSE). This also returned "2008/01/31 00:00:00" in Answer!!!
It almost seems as if a derived logical column is cached in some weird way and changes to the formula is not reflecting in answers. Thinking that something so simple must work and I made a simple mistake somewhere I have spend a good part of the past day playing around with this and trying every possible solution I can think of - no luck. The odd thing is that I would rename my logical column and this will be reflected in Answers, but changes to the derived expression is not reflected.
- I deleted the column and started all over - no luck
- tried creating derived columns using different datetime expressions or even just concatenating strings to each other - no luck.
- Restarted all the Oracle services, thinking it's a cach'ing issue - no luck.
- I rebooted the server - no luck.
Once, when I started out with only MONTHNAME(Sales.OPPORTUNITY.ESTIMATEDCLOSE) I got back correct values in Answers (Jan, Feb, Mar..) and I thought the problem was finally gone. So I added || ' - ' || CAST(Year(Sales.OPPORTUNITY.ESTIMATEDCLOSE) AS CHAR(4)) to the derived formula. Guess what, Answers kept on giving me back only the Month names, completely ignoring my updated formula.
Anybody else ran into this problem? Something so simple should surely work...

Yes, cleared the cache (from Dashboard Administration) and also used nqcmd Call SAPurgeAllCache. Restarted BI Server. Still no luck.
I tried your formula and then only got back "2008/01/31" (just the date without the timestamp) - very strange.
Then I noticed the following amazing thing (by accident):
I started with a request in Answers that does not contain my derived column and then add my derived column to the report. The text would be all wrong in this column (Jan, Feb, March). Then I add the same column again to the report and the second added column will magically show the correct strings (Jan - 2008) !!! Even stranger is that the moment I added the same column again to the report, the text on the first column would also magically jump to the correct values (Jan - 2008).
I did a bit more testing and created a blank request and added my derived column as the only column - this time it will show the correct values immediately. It does seem like it's tied to the content already in the request. I went a step further and saved my buggy request and added it to a Dashboard - it worked perfectly in the Dashboard.
Must be something buggy here in Answers when working with derived columns. I'm on 10.1.3.4...

Profit Center Hierarchy Error - profit center hierarchy not defined

0ke5, the configuration settings is not transfered from DEV through transport request.
now i have created the Profit Center Hierarchy and started process testing. Now i try to assign the hierarchy in 0ke5, error message standard hierarchy not defined in controlling area XXX.
I also try to define the Dummy Profit Center KE59, but error comes profit center hierarchy not defined.
also note that 0ke5 and 1kef are blank.

IMG; CO--> PCA --> tools --> transaport customizing set. -->
but i believe if you transport only the "master data" Q will function fine. ( try OKEQ first)

Fund center Hierarchy - automatic refresh in BW possible?

Hi Friends,
I have an issue with fund center heirarchy data load.
Whenever the heirarchy is changed in R/3, the BW load is not picking the new hierarchy instead the old values are getting in BW loads.
If we refresh the infopackage with the available hierarcy from OLTP, and trigger the load, it brings the latest data.
Is there by any chance make this automated without manual intervention?
Please provide your suggestions.

I have a similar issue.
I am using a hierarchy created on Funds Center and I have refreshed the data from R/3.
The new data I get to see in the Query while restricting but when the query is run I still see the old Hierarchy.
Same is the case with workbook.
Do you have any input to solve this problem?

Budget carry forward- giong up in the fund center hierarchy

We are about to close year 2008 in the FM. We work with the former budget, and we don't have budget structure.
When carry forward the commitment u2013 the receiver is the same as the sender.
But, when I carry forward budget for commitment, the receiver is the upper fund center in the hierarchy.
The budget is not where the commitments are.
What can I do?

Hi,
The budget of year 2008 was entered at the subordinate FC.
If there is budget in year 2009 at the subordinate FC, the budget carry forward is right (the sender and the receiver are the same).
Only if there is no budget on the subordinate FC, the budget runs upwards the hierarchy.

Hi Olga,
Please, use FMSD transaction for this. If you want to create several groups, use FM_SETS_FICTR1 transaction.

R/3 Cost center hierarchy not shown in BW

Hi,
we have an issue regarding the transfer of a certain cost center hierarchy into the standard info object 0COSTCENTER. We have several hierarchies in place in the R/3 system and we transfer each of them daily via info packages into BW. When you look into the info package you can press button "Hierarchies from OLTP" and afterwards you can choose via radio button the dedicated hierarchy to transfer for this specific IP. Since last night one of the hierarchies is "disappeared" it's not shown any longer in the list (and therefore the IP crashed) and pushing the refresh button doesn't help. I am very surprised as this is not a new hierarchy (I just know that it has been changed in R/3 yesterday). What I have seen so far is that there is another hierarchy with a different technical name but with the same description. I know this shouldn't be a problem... Anyway, any hint is appreciated.

Update:
The issue has been resolved. I learned that only top nodes of cost center hierarchies can be selected on the BW side to be transferred (A top node is a group that is not present in any other group as a sub-group.). The hierarchy in scope of the transfer has been removed form any other hierarchy in R/3 and now it works.

IPhone 4 with iOS5; Changes in iTunes to music not reflected on iPhone.

It's really odd. I plug in my iPhone, open iTunes, make changes to playlists (add or delete, etc.) and add or delete actual songs to my iPhone (via iTunes), etc., but none of this gets reflected on my iPhone when I unplug from computer and open the Music app. When I open the Music app, all the old playlists and songs are still there. But when I plug the iPhone back into my computer and open iTunes and click on my device, all the changes are reflected (on iTunes after clicking on my device). I push Sync and let the phone Sync but it still does not reflect any of the changes when I unplug. What is even crazier is I go back to the iPhone and I can still click on songs to play them, even after I have deleted them through iTunes on my iPhone, and they no longer show up on my device through iTunes. Anyone have any suggestions?
This never happened prior to upgrade to iOS5 or backing up to iCloud.

I am just updating as I was finally able to get this to work. I went back and synced two more times with iTunes. The first time still did not make any changes to my iPhone. The second time, the sync hung (at least an hour later it was still syncing on step 5 of 5), but I "ejected" anyway. And this time the changes were reflected in my iPhone. I don't know why the first two Syncs did not make the changes, even though they Synced without issue.

Changes in Crystal reports are not reflecting after publishing

We are facing problem with Crystal reports. After making the changes in the crystal reports, it is not reflecting in the portal after publishing. Still it is showing the older version of the report.

After publishing the report, we require some changes in the report and doing some modifications in crystal report and again we are publishing this report. After publishing the report for second time, those changes are not reflecting in the BOE portal.

Changes made to files are not reflecting

File updates not reflected. I modified content, added data validation and saved the file back - next day file is still the way it was before modification.
Other file, another site but similar situation.
Content changed - form added but next day the change is not reflected.

1. Have you checked the file immediately after closing it to see if the changes lasted?
Ans: I am not sure, if I checked the files immediately after. I think the changes were saved properly because I didn't get any error.
I managed to print out a file with a new element on one day but on the next day in the same file, I saw that element was not there.
I sometimes open the files through the Newsfeed tab, does that matter? My understanding is that the system is going to the original location to open the file
2. Do the changes then disappear later that day at some point?
Ans: That is my understanding.
3. Does this happen just for those files?
Ans: So far I have observed it for two of the files only.
4. Do you have versioning or publishing enabled on those lists? Versioning will let you see who changed it when and approval or publishing might be hiding things?
Ans: Versioning is enabled, publishing - not.
When I go to check versions to see, if maybe someone overwritten my change and retrieve the previous version, there is no previous version with the changes i made
the previous day.

Changes made in EMS are not reflected in EMC

Hello all,
I realise that this is 2013 discussion, but I could not find a 2010 section.
My problem is simple: any change that I make inside the Exchange Shell is simply not reflected in the Console. It doesn't appear there. It can't be searched for. Nothing.
I'd like to know how to fix this. Exchange is very broken when it is operating like this, and I pretty much cannot do anything. Customer GALs are exposed to each other, etc.... because changes won't occur even though the shell says they have.

What changes are you making? Some changes do take time as replication etc. happens in the backend. Have you tried restarting the server? do you see any changes after that?
Please also check the Application log for errors.
