Changes to Item Group in Item Master

I currently have an Item Group in the Item Master set up as "Raw Material". I want to add another item to the group "Raw Material Packaging". I am looking for confirmation that if I set up the GL info the same on "Raw Material Packaging" as "Raw Material" there should not be a negative affect on the financial side or anywhere else.

Hello Jim,
If you want to set up a new Item Group exactly similar to the Raw Material Item Group.
Go to Administration > Setup > Items > Item Groups ....find the Raw Material Item Group...then
Go to Data Menu on the Top and Click Duplicate....Not Change the name to Raw Material Packaging and click Add
Now you have Raw Material Packaging Item Group with the same G/L Determination

System will allow new account group if both the account groups have been assigned same number range otherwise it is not possible.

Try this,
Create 1 Mendatory UDF field in Item Master Header.
->> Choose Tools on menu bar.
->> User Defined fields. -> Manager User Fields.
->> Open the Manager User Fields Window.
->> Master Data.
->> Items. -> Items.
and Click Add button in bottom right then add the UDF Title & Description.
put the Tick mark of Set Default value for Field and put the value of 0.
then, put the Tick mark of Mendatory Value and add the UDF.
Assign the below FMS in UDF.
->> Open the Item Master and ShiftAltF2 in UDF then put the Saved Query.
put the Tick mark of AutoRefresh and select the Item Group,
put the Tick mark of Display saved values.
Try assign the below FMS in UDF(Mendatory field).
for example: Item Group -> (100) -> Item.
Item Group -> (101) -> Accessories. Item Group -> (102) -> Hardware.
USer sign 1 -> Manager. USer sign 2 -> Admin.
SELECT ' ' FROM OITM T0
WHERE
$[OITM.ItmsGrpCod] in ('100', '101', '102')
AND
$[OITM.UserSign] in ('1', '2', '3')

You can change the statistics group for item category using below path
IMG>Logistics General>Logistics Information System (LIS)>Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Control>Updating Control>Statistics Groups>Assign Statistics Groups for each Sales Document Item Type.

FMS to Display Item group UDF value

Hi,
I have created Title level udf named U_WP in the item group table. Each group wise i have entered diferent values in this field.
I have created one more title level UDF in item master by same name U_WP.
I want FMS to select the UDF value from U_WP in OITB to be displayed in U_WP in OITM when when ever user select the
respective item group in item master while adding new code.

I've tested the query below and it should give you what you need:
SELECT T0.\[U_WP\] FROM OITB T0 WHERE T0.\[ItmsGrpCod\] = $\[$-39.0\]
A couple of things, make sure both the Item Group UDF and Item UDF are setup as the same structure (type and length).
Set the formatted search on the Item UDF so that it refreshes when the Item Group changes.
That should give you what you need.

Discount applied by Item Group Or Properties

Is it possible to apply different discount percentage prices relating to item group or item properties, to a BP group or BP properties. Eg: BP Group 1 has 10% for Item Group 3 and 15% for Item Group 4. BP Group 3 has 12% for item group 3 and 17% for item group 3.

As experts are saying...you may check this once...
Go to Inventory->Price Lists->Special Prices for Business Partners
1. Select a BP code and item code (Give discount after selecting price list) there
2. go to ->Copy Discounts (right hand side bottom) . Here you can select the BP groups (and properties also) as per your
need.
3. Then go to -> Add Items (middle bottom). Here you can select the group and properties for items as per your need.
Thus, your given discount in step1 will be copied.

Commissions by Item Group

Does anyone know a way to set commissions by item group, for a specific sales person? In other words, one sales person gets a percentage commission based on a specific item group. Item Group A is 10% for Saleman C, Item Group B is 5% for Salesman C, for example. Only way i have so far is a formatted search, but would prefer to do in B1 without special coding.

I want to transfer through DTW item groups but the problem is that I am not able to transfer item group as SERVICE. What is the input field in Item group DTW file which you enable Item groiup as SERVICE.

Hi Suda,
In Item Group Setup screen i.e in Administration > Setup > Inventory > Item Group there is an Item Category option which is 'Service' or 'Material'.
I want to use DTW for uploading item groups as Item Category as Service and not material.
How to achive this through DTW.

Change material freight group in scheduling agreement

Hello,
whenever we create a scheduling agreement (VA31/VA32), we can change the field "Mat. freight grp" on the Shipping tab on item level.
After the first delivery, this field grays out and we are not able to change it anymore. Is there a way to change the field after the first delivery?

I want to change the material group in already exist PO. like one material have the material group 1002. i have changed the material group in material master i.e. 0022.
In already existed PO for this material, material group is not changing. how do we do this.

if it is not processed for gr then just delete the existing material and give new entry of material in same po

Impacts of changing material group
1) If ur release strategy is based on material group it needs to modify ( Material group as charactaristics)
2)If u r trying to extract any reports based on material group u will find discrepency bet reports as u r changing M.Group in betn.
3)The data in the Info systems and BW etc. are updated with the the "old" material group and so if you tried to compare them you would find differences.
changing M . Group will not cause any major prob. but only reporting problems

Changing existing Material Group user defined names to new mat groups

Hi Gurus,
My client is using conventional Material Groups user defined names for ages in their system.
Now they have requested us to workout for switching over to UNSPSC material groups Global Standardization.
While carrying out the exerice, they have asked us to completely clean up the entire system to replace the new material group with old in all Masterdata, transaction data including statistics table in pr, po, stock and in everything

Hi,
If you change the Material groups in Material master the system the system will not update the PR/PO/Stock or others.
You need to change all the documents to update the New Material groups.
For Material master update you can use the LSMW.
You can update the PR/PO also but if the PR/PO is subjected to Release Strategy then you need to derelease then change the material group then update and if it is based on the Material group then while update the new release strategy will apply and you have to change everything.
Think of that if you have huge data then it is very difficult to change all the documents. if the data is Less you can proceed .
Instead of deleting old material groups just add the new material groups and use them in future for all your process.

If u asking simply to change the name of item group then it will change automatically the name of item group selected in item master only. there will not any other change configured in the system

First of all , you are doing this in the Mid of Fiscal Year or Not !
Changing the G/L Acct Method is really a serious matter , since your stock value is in the Group Account now , if you change the G/L Method first of all you have to pass the journal entry for the Group Credit and the Warehouse Debit . So that your future entry can be secured .
Then again you have to do G/L Accounts Determination keeping every transaction in mind .

Change Commission-value for Commisson-Groups on item/BP-level

Hello,
at the moment it is possible to change the defined commission-% of an commisssion-group for specific items and BP. I was told by the support, that this is not the correct way according system definition and that's the reason why all this individually defined values are overwritten if we update for example BP.
We need this "wrong" behaviour, that allows us to change a commission groups %-value individually, because in our case for specific items or BP this value differs from the groups standard-value but we need to assign the commission-group to an BP for our commission reports.

According to your description, there are several list views in your list, there is a textbox control which holds the “Single Line of Text” type of data in your custom
form. When users click the “Add new item” button in one of the existing list views, you want the textbox control in the custom form to be populated automatically.
