Changes to website do not appear on MY desktop (they do on others)

Hi,
I have a website (not on a mac server, a .org address) which I set up and edit using iweb.
When I update a page or create a new blog page, it updates the website but the new content does not show when I go to the website on my Imac. It does update and show on my husbands computer, so I know the website is updating.
Also, when the new blog comes into my inbox (RSS feed) the photo I have dragged into the image place holder does not show, just the original one from the proforma page (a surfer!) but the correct one shows on the blog page online.
Any ideas what's wrong?

After installing FF 6.02 on Windows 7, the icon does not appear on the desktop and the program does not appear in the All Programs menu

I just received a new laptop running windows 7 home premium and wanted to install Firefox on it. I tried to install the most recent version. When i installed 6.0.2, the icon did not appear on my desktop (it was a hidden file in my desktop folder) and the program group does not appear in the start menu's All Programs list. The program *does* run though, at least it did a few times. This happened whether i installed as administrator or not. Installing firefox 3.6.22, though, DID create the program group and desktop icon, and upgrading from there removed them again. installing other programs (e.g. vlc, trillian, etc.) did not cause this behavior. Some people have found that an app (usually iBooks for some reason) hasn't appeared on a homescreen until after the iPad has been reset and has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Also depending on what the app is have you got an age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ?

Finder does not appear in All Desktops

Suppose that you have set up multiple Desktops from Mission Control.
From the Dock, I choose Finder > Options > (Assign To) All Desktops. This is so that varius open windows on the Desktops will appear on All Desktops. However, this setting does not survive a restart. That is, after a restart, an open window on one Desktop will not appear on another Desktop.
I have tried to delete the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. But, the All Desktops setting still does not survive a restart.
How can I overcome this issue?

Why does the CD icon not appear on my desktop?

I just got my new iMac with lion on it - When I insert a CD or my external hard drive in the USB the icons do not appear on the desktop like they did on snow leapord. Any idea how to get the CD and drive Icon's to appear on my desktop?

Adding the shift key to the command places the screen shot in the clipboard as Hiroto pointed out.
To get the file on the Desktop just remove the shift key.

I have 3 Firewire drives on my iMac. On occasion, instead of the normal orange Firewire disk drive icon, I get a generic icon that looks like a small window with a blue bar at the top. If I run Disk Warrior, it says "This disk does not appear on the desktop". Worse, sometimes the system looses one or more drives completely and has to be restarted. All of the external drives check out good with Disk Warrior. All drives power-down the spindle when inactive for some period of time. Any idea what might be going on?

Blackberry does not appear on Mac desktop etc.

I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager program for my MacBook 4,1 - Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a) - and while the program is thoroughly a let down, I thought the capability to have the Blackberry appear in the Finder would be a useful workaround to send photos and media between the device and my laptop. Unfortunately this did not work either, as the Blackberry does not appear anywhere on my desktop when connected.
Yes, the Blackberry Desktop Manager appears when I connect my new Curve 8350, but for some reason RIM has not been able to create a Pictures folder within the program yet? Verizon has of course has forced the hand of RIM to disable the available user RAM, making slightly tech saavy users purchase a microSD card but to force the masses to purchase all their media from VZ tones. I suppose I can live with this but in the meanwhile it would be great if any of you Blackberry geniuses out there could help me get my Blackberry Curve 8350 to appear on my desktop...for now.

Are they daisy chained? Have you tried them one at a time? Have you tried a different FireWire cable? Do they show up in either system profiler or Disk Utility? Have you reset the SMC? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

Website suddenly not appearing correctly in Firefox under Windows 7

I've had a website running for a couple of years now with no problems, but one of my clients sent me an email saying it's not appearing correctly on her system, Windows 7 runnning Firefox v. 15. I am on a MAC and have looked at the site on 4 different browsers and it looks fine, I also installed Firefox (v. 16) on a PC running Windows 7 and it looks fine there. Near as I recall I haven't made any changes to the site's structure, so I'm stumped. The website is http://www.horizonwings.org. Can anyone help? I see the same problem as your client in Firefox 16 on Windows 7. To fix the problem, add clear: left to the style for leftColMain

Changes made in Console not appearing on portal until restart.

When I make any change using the Console, such as changing the title of a channel, that change does not appear on the Portal unless I restart it. Does anyone have any advice?

The exceptions indicate that there is profile service errors which could have happend when it was trying to fetch those attributes.
What version of portal are you using ?, are you running a multi server instance ?, if so there is a possibility that the profile cache could be out of sync between the two instances. Generally making profile changes would necessitate the need to logout and log back and only when you change ldap auth information or property file changes you would need to make server restarts ..

Websites do not appear correctly.

After about a few hours of being on the internet (continuously or not), web pages will start to not appear correctly. The only way I have found to fix this is to clear the history. (Cookies, cache, etc.) This is only a temporary fix though and I would like to not have to do this every few hours when I'm in the middle of something. I haven't been able to find anything else on this at all besides the temp. fix of clearing the cache.

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You have images on your web page that have a backslash in the URL that Firefox escapes a %5C and that do not work.<br />
You can see those images as grayed in the Tools > Page Info > Media window.
